It seems Great Lakes Brewing Company pretty much controls the bar scene at CAK, this location is outside security making it a great place to enjoy a taste of Northeast Ohio's best brews while waiting on your flight to arrive or depart. There's really nothing magical about this location there's a half dozen or so stools, a few tables and a bartender that has more stories than most of the road warriors that pass through this small regional airport. I love their brews not so much their food... MY FAVORITE- COMMODORE PERRY® IPA ABV: 7.7% - Dry and well-hopped, with an arsenal of caramel malt flavors befitting the "Hero of Lake Erie."

Service was good, 1 waitress though can stay quite busy when it's full. Being the only restaurant in the airport I do wish it had more food options, there's no sandwiches. I guess they do that on purpose, as they have some at the little kiosk Great Lakes downstairs. But the salad and wings were fresh, the beer is always good and it's quick service! Certainly better than eating fast food.

We have been here twice in the last month or so, and won't be returning. Although the drinks are…read moregood, and the atmosphere nice, the service is deplorable. *Both times upon entering we were immediately struck with the smell of bleach/chorine, the place smelled like a pool. Several weeks ago, we (3 couples) stopped in for drinks after dinner around 9PM. It was fairly crowded, and we had to stand for a bit until some seating opened up. Service was slow, but it is craft drinks, so a bit understandable. However, after about 10 minutes of sitting, my wife bussed our table (multiple glasses, receipts, trash). The bartender was snippy and rude. We ordered another round, then left. Saturday night we returned for drinks after dinner again (8:00PM), this time with 3 other couples (8 people). We arrived first, and while there weren't any seats, it didn't seem as crowded as the last time. However, I over heard one bartender say to the other bartender "I'm not putting up with this shit again", and then proceeded to lock the main door. As our full party had not arrived, we had no choice but to leave. I'm not certian, but I suspect locking the door may be against fire code. After dealing with rude bartenders, and being locked in because the bartenders don't want to deal with a crowd, we certianly won't be going back.

Great drinks and friendly bartenders. Small place with comfortable speakeasy vibe. No food.read more

I have to say, my experience at 1787 Tavern and Grill was so bad it was almost comical. I would…read moreonly recommend if you are getting to the hotel late and need something without high expectations it would be okay. We were in town for a wedding nearby and most of the family was staying at the hotel where the restaurant is located. Because most of the group was from out of town, everyone decided to eat at this restaurant located in the hotel to avoid transportation. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves with some other patrons at the bar. When our waitress brought just three menus for a party of seven and tossed a stack of Dollar store napkins in the middle of the table, with silverware on top, I should've known what was coming. The first three things I tried to order from the menu--soup of the day, chicken marsala, and broccoli--were all unavailable. Yes, three in a row! I finally ended up with a steak that I asked for medium, but it came out completely cooked through with no pink at all. Between the missing menu items, lackluster presentation, and poorly cooked food, the whole experience was a huge letdown. One thing they obviously had on hand was plenty of salt! I'm pretty sure we all consumed our limit of sodium for the week. One thing I can say is that all of the staff were extremely friendly and nice. I truly felt bad for our waitress. I gave the three stars based on the fact that the hotel uses the same area for breakfast and the server deserved five stars for breakfast. It was not a large buffet, but it was well presented and fresh (real scrambled eggs with cheese made on site which seems to be a rarity hotels these days).

This is a bar in a hotel lobby but way above my expectations. Stop by for a strong drink and a quick bite, you won't be disappointed!
