We weren't happy with that practice for many reasons, and Altman Dental was recommended to us by many families that we are friends with. He sees me and my husband and even my 9 year old! He LOVES Dr. Altman ( even more than his Pediatrician which says a lot!). I just came here to say that I always have a great experience with the front desk ladies, while I'm in the chair Dr. Altman is conversational and is humorous and informative and explains what's happening as he's doing it. Today the first step of my implant has started and I needed this tooth pulled. It was a great experience! I don't doubt that he will check on me later. I floss and brush my teeth and 6 months previously I had no cavities at all. Dr.P drilled my back tooth #15. Even with anesthesia I could feel some discomfort and pain. Dr. P. was going to fill another tooth but I had an appointment so it didn't get filled. Shortly after my dental visit I began to have problems with the tooth that she drilled and filled. It became very sensitive to heat,cold and became painful.I went back to Dr. P. to see what could be done. She gave me fluoride toothpaste. This did not help at all.By now I was getting more pain and no relief. I went to a different dentist. My result there was no cavities at all. The tooth that Dr. P. was also going to fill did not have any cavity nor did the rest of my teeth have any cavities. Why was she planning on drilling and filling a tooth that did not have a cavity.? When I mentioned to my new dentist what happened his response was "It's a shame". Yes it is. I ended up having a root canal and a crown put on the tooth #15 that Dr.P drilled. I had discomfort and pain for many months before the tooth was finally fixed.I paid thousands of dollars to repair a tooth that I believe did not have a problem or cavity to begin with. My response is Beware.

Instead of showing any understanding, I was told I would be charged a $145 cancellation fee -- even after offering to provide a doctor's note confirming the medical situation. The office refused to accept it and said I could not reschedule unless I paid the fee. When I reviewed the financial agreement, it only listed a range of possible fees -- it did not state that the charge was mandatory or specify exact amounts for missed appointments. When I asked for additional documentation or written policy to support their decision, I was told none existed. For a healthcare provider, I find this lack of compassion, flexibility, and transparency very disappointing. Medical issues are often unpredictable, and I expected a much more understanding and professional approach from a dental office. Unfortunately, this experience showed otherwise.

I already had surgery in 2012 with another dentist and it was a fail. I was refereed to Dr. Caudry as an urgent situation and I got a call from her office quite fast. She was very confident that she could fix my problem and the surgery took place a few weeks after. I was expecting it to last for hours - It took only 30 MINUTES AND I WAS OUT. Very quick and efficient. I healed very well (although let's be honest, it was excruciatingly painful) and her reception always made sure to send me text and email reminders for each follow up appointment. My problem has been fixed and I am thrilled with the result. Dr. Caudry's office is conveniently located right next to Bay subway station, in the middle of Yorkville. You would expect her rates to be crazy high because of the prime location, but honestly - it is quite reasonable. Of course it is expensive as she is a specialist ($150 for the initial appointment, if I recall), but it is pretty average. I think the only downturn is if you're driving, it can be a pain to find a parking spot.
