Then had to keep coming back because my prescription was wrong and had to have my glasses remade. Then they only remade one eye so I had to go back for the other. Then they called and told me I could come pick up my trial contacts at any time and I asked if I needed an appointment to do that, they said no. I got there and they told me I had to see the doctor before I could take the trials home and had to set an appointment because he was busy.

When my wife asked the reason why, the person explained they "weren't equipped for kids....(clear hesitation in her voice/demeanor)...under 15 years old" and referred us to U of M. I called back today without telling them my or my daughter's name or the fact that she has down syndrome, only that she is 13 years old and they explained they could see her no problem. The office manager, Sherry, did an "investigation" and said the reason the appointment was cancelled was because they did not treat my daughter's condition. We never told them she has any condition in the first place nor does she have one. I obviously have no concrete proof that this office discriminates against people with or with certain disabilities, but it was clear to me that they do. Even though office manager Sherry assures me that's not the case.
