The check-in process was very efficient. We filled out some forms in one area, paid in another, and then got our kayak in another. We went from parking to being in our kayak in about 5 minutes. Note that we got there about an hour after it opened so it wasn't that busy yet. We drove by later in the day and it was packed, so I'd say the earlier you can get there the better. It was also hot so water, sunglasses and hats are helpful. Kayaks are in good condition and it's about a 20 minute paddle south to the north end of the Narragansett town beach. There are also motor boats around but most were very nice and gave us plenty of room. There's lots of wildlife around especially birds so would be good for pretty much anyone.
