I came into this store too look around I was in the store for about 5 mins the whole time I was in front of the young lady who was the cashier I was looking at keychains that contained liquid, I grabbed one keychain and another keychain fell and broke, she immediately asked me for $10 dollars for the keychain I told her it was completely on accident this young lady sat on the phone with the owner for about 5 mins, after the call she told me to stay in the store and wait for the manager, I waited for him in the store for about 10 mins to arrive he came in and they started to review the cameras and blamed me for "purposely" breaking the keychain, I felt embarrassed they made me feel like I was a thief, I was shaking and trying to hold back my tears.Mind u I am a 21yr female I am colored and have very visibly tattoos on my neck and face. I had to call my mom who is a light skinned female and they all reviewed the cameras together and finally said I was free to go. The Great Wall Bookstore is located in Chinatown Plaza, between Spring Mountain and Arville Street. My family and I were looking for anime figurines, specifically Kimetsu No Yaiba, Zenitsu (Demon Slayer) for a birthday party. Upon looking through some photos on Yelp, we had to stop by the Great Wall Bookstore! Inside the store, there are a wide range of Sanrio merchandise (Hello Kitty), Anime figurines, pillows, pens, books, notebooks, Legos, Studio Ghibli merchandise, and so much more! I could have easily spent several hours looking at all of the items that Great Wall Bookstore had to offer. As we were browsing the store, we did notice several security signs of "You're being recorded." This place has some of my favorite merchandise, Studio Ghibli. There were snow globes of Totoro and even a My Neighbor Totoro Catbus pillow! I had to get it! I plan on coming back for some of the Totoro figurines in the future! We did find several Zenitsu anime figurines and purchased one. We also picked up a Zenitsu lanyard and anime themed pen. There was a lot of One Piece figurines, Naruto, Dragonball Z, and Bleach! You should stop by Great Wall Bookstore if you're looking for anime figurines! It is cluttered and has a lot in stock, so you'll need to spend some time looking through all of the inventory! Overall, we had a wonderful time at Great Wall Bookstore and we'll be back for some Totoro figurines and themed Bento Boxes! read more

Store has a ton of items! and I mean a ton. a lot of Sanrio, anime, etc, but mainly hello kitty and others. I'd recommend going with time since there's a lot of nooks and crannies to look through. It feels a bit claustrophobic since everything is so crammed but other than that it's a great store for Sanrio fans or people who like anime or stationary. Prices range but are reasonable/fair. We were exploring around the Chinatown Plaza when we stumbled upon this cute little bookstore. The moment I walked in, my little weeb heart exploded! So much stuff!! Only about a third of the store is actually books, another being Chinese decor, and the other side being anime and kawaii-esque stuff. It was really cool to browse through because all of their stuff is completely authentic. It is pretty crowded in some areas, where a lot of shelves were cluttered and a little unorganized. Everything here is also pretty cheap! It's worth the trip! read more

I love this place!! Lots of well priced anime merch and the cutest stationery. I always get my notebooks for my college classes here. I also find a lot of good anime figures. This place is great if you're a Sanrio, anime, or ghibli fan. I even found a Sasuke Uchiha pen! There definitely is a lot to look at so you might be there shopping for a while. Great Wall Bookstore is located at the Chinatown Mall, next door to No. 1 Boba Tea. I stopped by here after I finished my tea next door. What grabbed my attend was all of the red Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling inside the store. Just a sea of red, it peaked my interest, which prompted me to go inside. I was expected to find Chinese newspapers, DVDs, comics (like Old Master Q aka Lou Fu Zi... does anyone remember those comics?). I did see those things inside (well not the Old Master Q comics though) but also Japanese Anime, Sanrio and other cute Asian characters (like Totoro). The prices for all of the cute Asian figurines are pricey, so I didn't purchase anything. There was also a huge section of blank journals for purchase which I thought was interesting. Anyways, this store is definitely messy with stuff piled everywhere and also stacked up on the floor. There is also yellow signs to remind you that you are being filmed and to deter the shoplifters (lol, such an Asian thing to do). A nice store to browse in. May find an unexpected item but it will cost you a pretty penny. If you are already in the Chinatown Mall, doesn't hurt to stop and take a look inside. This store isn't that big so it won't take too much of your time. read more

There is also a massive variety of kawaii Sanrio items and other themes which include thousands of plushies, slippers, keychains, hairbrushes, solar power toys, decor, utensils, stickers, and more. If you like cute Asian doodads, this is the store for you. There were tons of stuffed animals, journals, clocks, figurines, cell phone cases, etc. in this store. It's amazing. I bought this Totoro thermos for $20. If I didn't already have tons of journals, I would have probably picked some here. OMG!!! I just went there for the first time and that was 火！！！ (lit) I saw Kanna-chan and Naruto poster at the entrance, I was like "Ooh~ it's gonna be 火!" There is the real meaning of "Little gem in Las Vegas" Im tellin' ya'! I purchased a very, very CUTE pencil case(I dare to bet, it's so cute!!!) 3 little posters of Boku no Hero Academia, Kaneki, and... the deer in One piece( IDK how to spelled his name, chopper???), and one big poster of Violet Evergarden, plus a little masking tapes with a illustration on it( 4 of them) then IDK what it's called but it's used for telling fortune like fortune cookies but in a stick version with Totoro illustration and Chinese sentence said "大声地笑出来，就不那么害怕" I think it's mean laugh out loud? Idk, plus..... Kuroshitsuji post cards, I didn't mean to bought that;-; I just take it with me I forgot to take them out at the last minute! So when I look through my bag I was like..."MOM, did you buy this????" They have all kinds of anime stuff! Also back pack, sling pack with really cool illustration!! It's the best place to find your back to school stuff guys....!!!!!!! It have a very very very CUTE pencil case, pen, eraser, glue, highlighter, notebook, post-it, and etc!!! I recently visited China Town in Vegas for the first time! I came into this cute book store and was shocked at all the cute stuff they have. From Sanrio products to all the small figurines, I highly recommend others to check this place out. The amount of books they have is impressive. I wanted to buy all the cute notebooks! This place is quite cute! I honestly love going to see the stuff. It's entertaining and fun. It's pretty small and cramped but there's lots to see. They have some licensed sanrio items and I love looking at those. I do like this store but the biggest problem for me is that there is A LOT of fakes/bootlegs. Most of the figures are fakes..possibly all and most of the anime merchandise is also fake. I have bought a few things knowing this because they were cute but I don't understand why basically everything is fake. Would be amazing if they had licensed merchandise. I do still stop by every time I go to Chinatown though. read more

Located in the china town mall. Its your one-stop shop for Asian stationary, figurines, plush, and other cute knick-knacks. Sanrio products sold as well. Stuff is strewn everywhere, which is why I'd take off a star. At the same time it's kinda fun digging through all the merchandise and finding something cute. Probably my fav store for Sanrio/Hello Kitty stuff in Vegas. Most official Sanrio stores only carry the current lines, but this one always has a huge variety of styles. Guessing its because they don't have a clearance section to get rid of current stuff, and for once that's a good thing. You get a lot more to choose from and they do also get the current lines too. You will find something here. The one down fall is that the prices are quite high. I found some cute Totoro washi tape but it was three dollars and there wasn't much on the roll. Inside the Chinatown mall is this "bookstore". They do have books, but majority of stock is Asian décor (including tons of New Years party supplies) and small toys. Only saw Japanese books, but they do have a large selection of blank journals and Hello Kitty merchandise. Lots of "YOU ARE BEING RECORDED!" security signs around, kind of a turnoff. Was in the area for a restaurant and figured to kill time here since. The first impression is the doors are littered with CCTV snapshots of shoplifters. Okay, guess some thieves aren't smart.....or discerning. Signs around the place point out the numerous cameras in place apparently. As others have noted, this store is an organized mess. There is some organization, but the shelves are haphazardly stocked. I almost stepped on items on the floor. I put them back as best as I could. The store seems to be arranged in a structured format. Nicknacks, Journals, Hello Kitty, and Anime goods are situated in one area (within eye view of the cash register), some books are on another, red envelopes dominate another, and assorted DVDs, Porn, and CDs are in another. I ended up getting a playing card deck of a Gravure model, Asakura Ran (NSFW Google warning, unless you wanna see her Final Fantasy cosplay). Great selection of items -- especially Japanese anime items -- one of the most extensive Totoro lineups I've seen in the States so far. The store layout though is a bit claustrophobic though and they have "you break it, you buy it" signs throughout (which is quite silly given the tight spaces there). GAHH. Tip #1: It's inside of the mall. I spent a good 3 minutes circling the parking lot before I decided to trust that the # on the bldg was leading me to the right place. This place is by far the best Asian stationary store I've been to in a long time - not, the best though. The only downside to this place was that there wasn't a lot of loose paper stationary, sticky pads or pens (mostly pencils) to choose from. The upside is that there is way more than stationary here. The utensil and thermos selection was pretty cool. They also have a TON of journals (which is my weakness) and stickers. The price point isn't shockingly affordable or anything. It's at least ~$4.50 an item (pens, stickers, journals, etc.). The non-stationary items are on avg $10/each or more. read more
