To start the egg drop soup had can peas and carrots in it. Why? It was mushy and gross. They randomly threw in a chicken wing and the meat was so over cooked it wouldn't even come off the bone. The sweet n sour shrimp was doughy and undercooked. The egg roll came over cooked and looked days old. The chicken lo mein was basic but not bad. I would discredit anything James K. said about Great Wall. I'm not going to jumble my post with a bunch of huge words and just say the place is so yummy! The food there is awesome. My friends and I love Great Wall. It's food is prepared by an actual chef that knows real American Chinese cuisine. No corners are cut either. Everything is of great quality. You get a lot for what you pay for and the prices are normal for Chinese food places. They also have some Korean dishes. I travel out of my way to go here and you should too! read more

I have been going here for a couple of years now. My family and I usually get take out from here, but now we starting dining in. Last time we went here we ran into one of our favorite waitresses. I love the feeling when you go somewhere to eat and the staff knows exactly what you want. We will continue to eat at the great wall of china even though we have moved across town. It was horrible. We got delivery the girl on the phone was less then friendly. Hair in the food, most of the food had little flavor and was dry. I don't get why 1 chicken wing comes with each dinner, but that is what my son ate (no one else did) and he spend the night throwing up. I felt sick with in minutes of eating. Instead of replacing my meal tonight, I was offered free sesame chicken on my next order. The lady who spoke to me on the phone was incredibly rude. I called ahead for a takeout order. It took an additional 35 minutes to get my incomplete order after I arrived. When I called to inform them they failed to include the soup I ordered, she said she would put a credit on my next order and hung up. The restaurant had two tables of business as I waited, yet it took forever. The wings were dried out and tasted like they were cooked last week. The egg roll was flavor-free. This place is a 3.5 but it gets a 3 because I would mark a place lower if I leave a restaurant not content. My wife, father and I went on his request even though it was at three stars. I keep in open mind when i go into any place no matter the ranking....here we go. We started with the wonton soup and calamari. The woton soup was average and the calamari was good. The calamari is not your typical seafood restaurant make up. It had onions and had thicker pieces, similar to chunks of meat vice the traditional curled bunches. The spicy sauce was definately good and highly recommended. My dad go the Tofu vegetable bowl which was made right in front of us, steam hissing and all; pretty cool, but not that tasty. Wife, as usual, has the mushu chicken which had a BBQ cooked flavor on it which i really liked, but she didnt. I would recommend it. I got the sesame chicken. Although hit and miss on the reviews, i though, WHY NOT?! Nothing special, unfortunately. the meat was cooked well, but had fatty pieces in it. The sauce it was in was average. Not recommended. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Tucson! All of the dishes we have tried are delicious and tasty! They have a broad menu so you'll definitely find something you'll like. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Food and service were excellent here. The prices are moderate, the people are friendly, and the music is pleasant. I ordered the house lo mein, one of my favorite Chinese food items, and it was definitely one of the best lo meins I have ever had. The environment also made the experience quite authentic. Although their service may not seem very good at first, you have to understand that service in Chinese culture is generally unpleasant/rough. Since dad never took mom out for Chinese, when she gets the craving, this is our "go to" Chinese food restaurant. Excellent food and good portions, so we always have take home. The prices are reasonable and the service is very good. Typical dinner is pot stickers, lo mein and fried rice. I enjoy the pork lo mein, mom enjoys shrimp, always very tasty. I love fried rice, and theirs is delicious, whatever kind we get. And I love the chicken wing, egg roll and egg drop soup you get with your meal. I really like the food at Great Wall; the Won Ton Soup is particularly good. Their delivery service, however, leaves something to be desired. Once, we ordered through their online system, and our order was delayed by over an hour because no one was apparently manning the fax the online orders come in on. Also, a part of our orders are almost always missing. Today, our fried rice was not included, nor were the crispy noodles that was supposed to come with the soup, sauce packets, or fortune cookies.
