    Hot and sour soup.

Dined most recently 4/3/2024 Ample parking, located next to the Safeway off Golf Links and Harrison. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance/Cleanliness-Average strip mall Chinese restaurant, clean enough 3 stars[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service-Adequate, but I swear the server is not into it 2 stars Food- reasonably priced lunch special, which has plenty of choices. Average at best hot and sour soup, egg roll, fried rice and got a beef dish last time. It's not bad, I just don't crave it 3 stars.

Another lucky find for a Filipino-American like me! Asian Fusion. Service is truly out of this world. We were the first customers so ambiance for me is the best. Check out my pictures. Salivating! You're welcome. Overall score: 4.90

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - one of the dishes was great but the other two were meh.... Salted Squid with Hot Jalapeño Pepper (Chef's Recommendation #12) 5/5 - was battered and fried squid with some bro and peppers. Flavor and texture was great with a hint of sweetness, some saltiness, and ends with a great kick! Mongolian Beef (Beef Dish #15) 2/5 - is typically a beef dish marinated with soy sauce and brown sugar then fried with some ginger, chili peppers, and green onion. Corn starch may be used to thicken the sauce. We got a dish that was 75% onion and 15% green onion then just little pieces of meat drenched in sugar and sauce. The texture of the meat was oddly soft to where it almost disintegrate as you bite it. For something that was recommended, we couldn't finish the dish Cantonese Lo Mein with Pork 2/5 - the noodles were very short and choppy. Not much flavor to the dish other than saltiness from soy sauce At the bottom of the box. Would not have been able to tell you the protein if we didn't order it Ambience: n/a - ordered food to go. Restaurant was nicely decorated but a bit dim inside. Many to go orders but no one eating in the store Service: 5/5 - very friendly and was able to give recommendations. From conversation we heard, it sounds like it's a family ran business and the cashier has been working there for 8-9 years Value for price: 2/5 - food was hit or miss but the pricing or what they charged us for wasn't clear since they don't provide receipt with item charge. Squid ($14.95) + Beef ($12.95) + Lo Mein ($11.95) = $39.85 + tax (8.7%) = $43.32 but we were charged $44.40. Not a huge difference but there was an extra dollar added somewhere :/

Finally, a decent Chinese restaurant on the east side of town. Flavors were good. Not outstanding, mind you, but good enough. Definitely not up to par with my favorites on the west side of town (China Szechwan, Jun Dynasty, Guilin, Noodleholics). But it will do. We had the cashew chicken and the beef broccoli. I always get beef broccoli to get a baseline on the restaurant. The beef and the broccoli were plentiful. The beef was tender. The broccoli just a tad tough, not too big of a deal. Cashew chicken was flavorful, but I would liked to have had about 15%, 20% more chicken and about 100% more cashews. I added cashews to it. But it was good. It has chopped water chestnuts in it, which I liked, and mushrooms from a can, not a big deal. A note about the rice. It was slightly larger grained than the usual long grain Chinese rice and was sticky. I liked it. My favorite rice is Japanese rice and this was close to it. The stickiness made it easier to eat with chopsticks and soaks up the sauce more. This was a take out order and the container of rice they gave was larger than the usual size you get for Chinese take out and I appreciated that, too. Service was good. I walked in, ordered, and 10 minutes later was out the door. They were not busy and I think only one phone order ahead of me, but I heard him tell the kitchen that I was a waiting customer. See my photos of the menu for updated pricing. I'll try them again and report again. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

This unassuming hole-in-the-wall is in a strip mall at the southwest corner of Golf Links and Harrison. Someone on my Nextdoor website was looking for a Chinese restaurant in the hood and everyone overwhelmingly recommended this place. I went down on a Wednesday night. There were a few tables occupied, so seating was plentiful. The two of us started with a Thai Beef Salad - it was excellent. Red and Green peppers, scallions, tomatoes sat on a bed of lettuce, with a nice pungent tamarind dressing. The beef was tender and grilled to perfection. For main courses we had were Orange Chicken (looked unassuming but was packed with bright flavor), Squid with Vegetables (really recommended), and Pad Thai. All were tasty, well executed, and had tons of flavor. Between the Thai and Chinese cuisines ordered, both stood true to authentic flavors. The Pad Thai could have used more bean sprouts for crunch and more limes on the plate to squeeze over. I will return. About ten minutes from my house, and I'm sure the food to go would hold up by the time you got home.

All the dishes we have tried are delicious! Quality, quantity and price keep us coming back! The service and genuine hospitality adds to the value! If you are searching for an atmosphere conducive to enjoying an authentic meal, I highly recommend!

My daughter was chewing thechicken and found these strips of metal inside the chicken. When I called the restaurant, they wouldn't believe that these were found in the food and denied a refund. The manager offered another meal, NO THANK YOU!!

So I searched Yelp and I found this gem, Jun Dynasty. We traveled an hour and forty minutes from Maricopa to try this place. I could've traveled to other Chinese restaurants in half the time in and around Phoenix and Scottsdale, but something just intrigues me about Tucson. Jun is located in an older part of Tucson and its location can be misleading. But trust me, you want to try this place. We were immediately greeted and seated after we entered the establishment. We were handed menus and asked what we'd like to drink and I ordered Oolong tea and water. The menu included several authentic dishes not found at other Chinese restaurants. I kept it simple though and ordered Walnut Shrimp for my wife, Steamed Dumplings in Peppercorn sauce, Salt & Pepper Fried Fish, and Bok Choy. Steamed dumplings were the first dish brought out. I ordered this because my wife can't eat anything spicy. Well this had a kick to it even I wasn't expecting. It was numbing, literally! Some restaurants will even list this type of dish as cooked in numbing oil. Soon after swallowing the dumpling, a numbing sensation enveloped our tongues. Sorry honey; I thought I ordered a mild dish. I ended up eating all of them. It was hard tasting the other dishes because of the numbing effect. The walnut shrimp came out next and I have to say, they were probably the best I had; even better than Fat's in Sacramento who set the bar back in the day. My wife devoured them. Bok choy was brought out next and she also loved them. They were served with I think a garlic sauce and it was very tasty. The Salt & Pepper fried fish were delivered last and they were also good. However, my wife preferred the walnut shrimp. I did have better S & P fish elsewhere, but these were still good. I can't speak enough about the staff. They were the friendliest I ever experienced in a Chinese restaurant. Our server always checked on us to make sure everything was fine. They all even said good-bye when we left. Yeah, I picked a good one!

The…read moreappetizer was so much fun: 2 Egg Rolls, 2 Crab Puffs, 2 Shrimp Tempura, 2 Beef Kabobs, 2 BBQ Ribs. The egg rolls are huge, crispy, and not the least bit greasy. The shrimp tempura is light and crisp. The beef kabobs are well flavored and cooked crispy, which is an interesting and yummy presentation, The ribs are large and flavorful. The crab puffs are amazing! We could have eaten ten of them; a crisp outside is stuffed with a melting cheesy crab mixture. Divine! House -made Chinese mustard (so good and really clears out the sinuses!) and sweet dipping sauces completed the appetizers. I've reviewed our entrees before and they are as delicious as always. I had the Three Delight Moo Shu, a platter filled with fresh vegetables, shrimp, and chicken; accompanied by sauce (hoisin?) and rice pancakes. I enjoy making my little "burrito" bites! My dining friend had the Mongolian Three Delight; shrimp, chicken, and beef prepared with at least three kinds of onions and a mildly spicy sauce, and a large bowl of rice. My friend has a spice-loving palate, and was brought a bowl of hot chili sauce. Visible pepper flakes floated in the sauce and it was pronounced perfect. I love being greeted by name and the food is scrumptious. Golden House is immaculate throughout and it is a pleasure to visit and enjoy their food. See you next month, Ming!

KP was a tad too sweet and would make that adjustment in future, had mid level heat as served-- overall 4/5 hubby enjoyed. Snow Peas were a bit tough, chewy vs tender and snappy. Portions are fair, you may have leftovers if you aren't really hungry but hubby easily ate his KP but only 1/3 of a heaped rice bowl. $3.50 for a small single pot of black tea (oolong?) was a bit stee, they got too busy to ask for more H20, but the free upgrade on brown rice more than makes par haha Overall a 3.8/5 for flavor and quality, Golden House is good. But still searching for a Go-to on SE side... Chef Wang still shines brighter for us: authenticity, wok hei, fresh bamboo shoots, tofu skin wraps, clay pot with Chinese dried mushrooms, variety on menu... although, alas no brown rice :/ Thankful though for this family Chinese restaurant, a quickly iconic mainstay of US dining, nearing extinction in many towns. So truly am thankful for GH preparations today!

Promptly seated, drinks brought out, order taken and food delivered fast, hot and correct. The background music was some chinese music tv station playing modern easy listening tunes and, along with the comfortable chairs and solid table made for a relaxing environment. The food? meh. You can see our order in the latest photo and how expensive it was. the Lo Mein was mostly tasteless and certainly lacking in thast "lo mein flavor." Although the meat was tender, the sauce was just a sticky brown sauce. Surprisingly, the Spicy Pickle Tofu was essentially the same sticky brown sauce as the Lo Mein but with some fried tofu in it and without the noodles but nothing otherwise remarkable. You can tell by looking at my earlier picture attached. The old picture shows a bright and colorful plate. The dish today was a dark brown (you could hardly see the tofu from the beef) as everything was just dark. Eggplant seemed to have a similar brown sauce as well but the eggplant was otherwise tasteless. Nothing popped. Chicken bites were bland and not at all crunchy. Just fried to soft texture but no real flavor. According to our server, the menu was just recently updated about a month ago. We noticed because one of our favorites was the Fried Taro Pie which is now gone from the menu and the server said yes, that's right.
