Still in search of a decent Chinese restaurant on the east side. All--and I mean all--of them are disappointing. So far I have tried almost all of them, many are 4 stars and the only conclusion I can come up with is that the good folks on the east side have no clue what good Chinese food is. Had the sesame chicken that should be called "battered, deep-fried chicken in sweet sauce with a few sesame seeds for looks." Also the beef and broccoli (dish to gauge the baseline of a Chinese restaurant). It was OK, nothing to write home about. The beef was tender. The whole thing was good, sort of, but not spectacular as in "Wow! Good stuff, I want more!" You know you like the food when you look forward to the leftovers the next day. Meh. As a matter of fact, we threw the chicken away. I'll keep searching... 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. Absolutely loved it! I got the orange chicken and white rice also fried wonton. I didnt eat the wonton i just simply didnt like it but the orange chicken with rice was delicious! Very big portions of food too..well the rice was very plain, (should have gotten fried rice) but okay when eating it with the chicken. Delicious food at lightning speeds. I highly recommend the spring rolls and beef ribs as appetizers. But be warned, the beef ribs are GIANT! For entrees, I usually go with the pork vermicelli bowl if it's a hot day, and pho if it's a cold day. But I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered. Been going here for years now, I recommend the Pad Thai, Lemon grass noodle, Singapore noodle and Pho, any meat of your choice! if you ever want more sauce for any dish they definitely give you more sauce! I have had this place on several occasions, and I must say, I like it. Is it authentic Asian Cuisine, NO, but it's good for what it is, Americanized Fast Asian Food. Everything I have tried has been pretty flavorful and plentiful. Service is quick and efficient and the place is clean. My favorites are the Lemongrass Shrimp Extra Spicy, and the Moo Goo Gai Pan, also Extra Spicy. Next up I'll be trying the grilled pork, it looks delicious. This again is what it is, typical Americanized versions of Asian Favorites, but they do them well, if you're in the area and want some old favorites this is the place to go! read more

Tried Hot Wok for the first time last week. It was very good. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. We tried the Pho, (huge bowl, big enough to swim in), the fried green beans and the shrimp lo mein. All the food was hot and delicious. A few pros of the place 1) very clean. 2) The 2 young guys at the counter were beyond courteous. 3) Food is prepared and brought to you in record time. 4) Ample portions at extremely competitive pricing. The food here was very satisfying! Large portion sizes at a reasonable price. Many vegetarian options for most of their dishes. I have the vegetable lo mien and veggie spring rolls, both very filling. Also show are a few dishes my family had. A large variety of classics and signature dishes that can keep the whole family, even the omnivores satisfied. The only quip I have with this place is the environment. It is moderately well maintained but bland, mixing the commercial areas of the kitchen with the dining room. Some things like soy sauce where keep in cardboard boxes by the kitchen, so it is unclear whether they were for customer use. It one corner of the dining room filled with random stuff. The dining area felt more like a cafeteria. I feel like this is one thing holding the restaurant back, as I have never seen it very busy. In short, good food but lacking polish. Definitely worth a visit with friends or family, but not recommended as a place to impress. read more

They're very good about making modifications when requested (Ordered the BBQ pork appetizer and asked about the amount of sauce they use and since I'm not a fan of oversauced food, they suggested having it on the side.
