Just received the worst customer service ever. Ordered cashew chicken, it came half full. Management stated that this was the normal. I have previously ordered it and it most certainly wasn't the norm. She also went on to say that it's a specialty item, mind you, it states that nowhere on their website. This food is so bad that it actually made me angry. Probably some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my 39 years of life. The food (in this case, the Happy Family) is extremely bland, the "sauce" it comes in is a congealed mess, and they were skimpy with the protein. My companion ordered the walnut shrimp and seemed to really enjoy it, but he's a Vietnam vet and has eaten worse, so I took that with a grain of salt. The orange chicken was awful! I ordered take out at dinner time. Initially, I was impressed by how quickly I got my food. Then I tasted it. I've been going to The Great Wall for 30 years. It used to be the best American Chinese food I've ever eaten, and I wasn't the only one with that opinion. I've been away for many years and as soon as I return to the area I had to go to The Great Wall . I've been several times since, mostly for takeout, and I'm sad to say that the quality of the product has diminished greatly. The beef on the stick used to melt in your mouth. Now it's like beef jerky. My friend ordered cashew chicken and it was the grossest thing I've ever seen. It arrived looking like a stew with some chicken and cashews floating in it. I've never seen cashew chicken like this. It was inedible. The sesame chicken was edible, but much of it was tough, dry, and overcooked and made me wonder if it was left over deep fried chicken balls from a couple of days ago and they just sauced it. Fortunately, my favorite dish of all time has managed to retain its glory. Triple Delight with pan fried noodles is my favorite dish of all time. It was still definitely worth the price. That, alone, is why I'm giving three stars and not two. Come on Great Wall! You can do it! You still have fast and amazing service, I know you can increase the quality and make it worth the prices you are charging. read more

Where do I start. I placed an order for delivery online, was overall pretty seamless expect no ETA for delivery. Fast forward an hour or more later and yay, I got my food! I ordered egg drop soup (small) and the sesame chicken with white rice. My chosen side was the crab Rangoon. The side was wrong and instead I got an egg roll and 2 wings. Said 30-40 minutes for delivery to hotel and arrived in 15-20! Amazing! Food was excellent and to say there was a ton is an understatement. The Large Chinese to go boxes were delivered stuffed full. Back east the tiny ones would have contained rice and the entree would come in a box half the size of these. Rice and entree were in the large boxes. I ordered the Orange Beef and it was straight steak with a light sauce. It was all meat not a bunch of filler veggies that were mush from being so over cooked like every Chinese restaurant in my town back east. Very impressed with the quality, again back east {smh in disgust and shame for them} this place was fantastic and I look forward to ordering more soon and trying other menu items. I immediately called back and asked if I could have a refund, but Teresa said they don't give refunds and that "It is not our problem." I have ordered from here numerous times over the last 20 years and the quality of food continues to go DOWN. Today I ordered the Tidbit plate, spring rolls, wonton soup and fried chicken wings. The wings were dried out, the items in the tidbit plate (ribs, wings and hulla beef) were all so dried out that I threw them away. The soup was average. The spring rolls were good. A more elegant Chinese restaurant with fantastic food and gracious service. Tonight we had soup, walnut shrimp and fried rice. We share entrees as we can never eat the large portions. The walnut shrimp were over cooked and dried out plus almost no sauce on it! We mentioned it to the waitress and she said it depends on the cook and this one is new. Instead she should have offered a different entree or at least a discount. We would discourage having anything breaded and fried in the future! read more

I have been online ordering from Great Wall for about a year now. Hard as it is to believe from reading many of the reviews, I have found their food quite good. Love the Mandarin lo mein. The spicy sour soup is wonderful! And my wife swears by the House Special Won Ton soup. The orders arrive very close to the requested time and have been hot every time. And one night they delivered it was -28 degrees wind chill. Give them a try before believing the negative reviews. read more

Just ordered delivery from Great Wall. It was nice that the food arrived very hot. This is unusual for delivery, so was pleased with that. Ordered the following items; egg rolls, chicken satay, Mandarin chow mein, Mandarin fried rice, Mongolian beef and Almond chicken. First, the food was not good. The egg rolls tasted like a wet dog. They were crunchy, so A+ for that. The fried rice was not fried and we ordered combo. There were several shrimp, so that was good. Asked for no peas in the rice, but got them anyway. It was boring and plain - tasteless, but the best dish really. The Mongolian beef didn't resemble or taste like any other Mongolian beef we've ever had before. The Almond chicken had no almonds. It had mushrooms from a can and water chestnuts from a can, mixed with what appeared to be boiled chicken. It was disgusting and tasteless. The chicken satay was 4 sticks of deeply and super overcooked, fried chicken. I've never seen this before. Not good or even edible. I did notice flavors of traditional chicken satay, but you just couldn't eat it. This dish should not be fried. Finally, the chow mein (we figured out what it was by process of elimination), didn't resemble chow mein (there were no noodles) and tasted and smelled absolutely awful. Reminded me of a sewer backup...I do not advise ordering this dish. Overall, I would say that this is the worst Chinese food we've had in Rapid and I think we've tried nearly all of them. So far, we have learned that Rapid just can't get Chinese food right and it's a shame. I do not recommend and we will never order from here again. read more

I came here with my family of seven that includes grandparents, parents, and two kids under 4. The waiter came out and took our drink orders very quickly and brought the kids water in to go cups. Our server was so thoughtful, he brought out the kids' food first and ran back to put in the order for my mom when she got the duck because he knew it would take longer before taking the rest of our orders. The drinks were kept full and our rice was replenished as well. They provided excellent service for our multi-generational table. Food wise, they definitely have a bevy of Americanized dishes as well as others I am less familiar with. I am admittedly pretty basic in my orders. The food was fresh and cooked to order. The sweet and sour chicken came separate from the sauce so it was not soggy at all. All in all, a great experience. I would recommend ordering a meat dish with a vegetable centric dish to balance the flavors, I wished I'd had more variety since I ordered orange chicken (which was way better than I've had at other places) and it just came with rice. We keep trying them but keep being disappointed. They are the only Chinese restaurant that delivers but we are giving up on them. The food is dull, boring. The "fried rice" is made with minute rice and very dry. The poo poo platter is tasteless. The ribs are boiled then fried to get them crisp and something red is put on them but it is not sweet and really had no flavor. I.
