What was good...waterpark. What wasn't so good...the rooms!! The floor had crumbs everywhere, sticky spots in the carpet (almost looked like cotton candy), and the worst was the black mold covered shower! We checked in on Friday night at 7pm, wasn't able to enjoy the waterpark the first night. Saturday after enjoying the waterpark my son took a shower, after he got out, I got in...only to find black mold! When spending this kind of money, one would think the room would be cleaner than this, especially being a family oriented resort with lots of kids running around these rooms! Saturday after finding this I mentioned something to the front desk and got a we will get someone to take care of this...nothing happened! When we walked in and checked it, the place looked wonderful. What I was not happy with was the dirty kids' cabin. The walls inside the kids' room were dirty and around the beds. My kids said they didn't sleep well, but I didn't think the twin beds felt too bad. The main room with the queen and fireplace and bathroom were all great with some minor areas. The hallways clean, elevators clean. Some of the water park toys are broken/not working, and all slides were working. The massive water bucket drop is extremely strong, so my 5 yo go hurt, but he is ok. The magiquest slides are straight drops, and if you aren't careful like me, I got my foot caught, and it bent out, so I ended up with a sprained ankle. Also, half of the climbing area in magiquest is down and can't be used, and they aren't planning to fix it from what I was told. All in all, we had a great trip for the price I would expect better. read more

We waited 2 hours for our room and they checked us into a room that had severe water damage that was a complete disaster! My wife and I stayed at this all inclusive water park motel for our second honeymoon and I'd say it was a solid experience but not over the top. First off I don't know what they're putting in those hot tubs but I don't believe it's chlorine. Lots of floating white "goop" as we heard some call it with a strange bleach-like smell mixed with stale laundry. Just didn't quite taste right. The food in the water park is ok but don't expect too much. My wife, who is a larger lady, had the chicken mcnuggets which were very hot on the inside and paired quite well with a dunk or katsup. The motel offers several dining options too which we frequented each morning for buffet and evening for elk burgers but if you do have to leave the motel for anything we recommend the Paul bunyuns nearby which offer family style donuts and flapjacks. Overall though good water park and good food the room was decently clean though I could feel the centuries of Rice Krispies crumbles and dorito nacho cheese flakes baked into the industrial carpet. read more

This hotel is good not great but it's a summer deal that's going on we got a 2 queen suite for about $100 a night. Which is not bad normal rate is about $230. So if you can hurry up and get that deal while it last. But overall great wolf was ok. The family suite was a little on the smaller side. But has high ceilings. It's clean not to over crowded something for everybody the hot tubs was closed for some reason. The hotel looked bigger over the internet pictures. Bring you're own googles I paid $40 for 3. Overall I recommend if you have a free weekend get away. Especially if you have little ones. read more

I'm heartbroken writing this review. GWL has been a very special place for my family for the past 10 years. We've gone multiple times a year and always enjoyed ourselves, but the last few times we've come things have really gone downhill. This last visit was a breaking point. Our hotel room smelled like dirty feet. We didn't have a coffee table making it difficult to eat in our room. Shower facilities in the water park were dirty and needing repair. Anything that was broken throughout the resort was simply roped off with no hint of ever being fixed. The biggest issue was the fact that we couldn't go on any of the water slides. As mentioned in many other reviews, there are only one or two slides open at a time, making choices very limited, lines very long, and other areas very crowded. When this was going on a year ago, I was much more understanding because businesses everywhere were struggling to find adequate staff. Now, other places we go to seemed to have figured it out, but GWL is either still struggling or has figured out they're saving a lot of money and not bothering to do anything about it. Overall, there is a feeling that they've given up. They used to have so many unique touches (free fudge, reduced rates when you booked your next stay, resort credits, room upgrades, multiple places to eat, etc) that distinguished it from the other water park hotels. It was friendlier, more affordable, accommodating. Now it's just sad. Not only are they offering less, but they've increased their prices, so there's really no reason to come anymore. If I'm paying the same rate as Kalahari, which has so much more to do, multiple restaurants, and actually takes care of their hotel, guess where I'm going?? Long story short, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Not worth the cost by a long shot. read more

Staff was warm and friendly- from the water park to the magiquest everyone was helpful and personable. Currently here and how the greats have fallen. Where to begin? 2 people working the check in desk and 1 was the trainee on opening Memorial day weekend -half hour wait at 12:30 in the afternoon. 2 of the medium sized slides were out for maintenance (the staff was very polite about it and it was beginning of the season). Even though I was in full penguin mode walk I took a full fall on mens room floor made of full ceramic and on pitches for drainage(I get cleanliness but why not use the same tiles as the rest of the park that grip your feet better?) Next up was the food station located just inside the outdoor water park where it's light fare summer foods. You MUST USE the kiosk which didn't work for my party nor the 2 next customers behind me while we waited, the guy behind the counter had to keep coming to the front to do people's orders for them. Asked for BBQ sauce for the chicken strips and was told there's ketchup around the corner! As I studied the once mighty water castle and wondered where all it's customers have went (it's memorial day weekend seriously!) I didn't have to go far to figure out why it was rather quiet. Add on the $250 minimum room purchase (we opted for the day pass thankfully) and I wonder how long it will be for one of the Dells former champions! read more

This hotel was a giant disappointment. I had good memories of the hotel from the early 2000s. The hotel has seen better days. The biggest issue is the The Waterslide aren't really open. The website makes it seem like they are fully operational when you book. Unfortunately, the slides are barely open. Their biggest slide is open for maybe 2 hours a day. The wave pool for 3 hours. It's not workable and the website is really misleading. Please do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. There are a lot of options. read more

I thought this place was great! It wasn't as big as some of the other water park resorts in the Wisconsin Dells but after being there for a couple days I think I really appreciated that fact. The only thing I wish it would have had is laser tag...I never miss an opportunity to annihilate my kids in an epic laser tag match. Just a few notes: Waterpark: The life guards were great, you can tell they are watching everything that's going on. The sign on the waterpark door says no outside food or drink but we always brought it in anyway (there is a small bar inside). All the water slides were fun and there was PLENTY for the little swimmers too. Condo: The 13 of us stayed in the great frontier condo which I thought was perfect for our size. The kitchen had everything we needed and the balcony and fireplace were nice. The condos are only on the far side of the resort so there is some walking involved when heading to the waterpark. Staff: Front desk staff was fantastic, they even wished my parents a happy anniversary when we checked in (I mentioned that when I booked the condo). Also, the key to your room is programmed into your waterpark wrist band so you don't have to carry around those stupid cards...genius!! read more

Amazing family weekend ... only a couple of cons but loved the condo for our family of seven adults, 2 teens plus one baby ... the Great Frontier Loft was perfect for us with 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms and a full kitchen. Although we had planned to go out to eat ... the weather kept us at the resort for dinners ... food was amazing & reasonably priced. The servers could have been much better because they were either uncaring or way understaffed. But again ... amazing food. The water park kept everyone busy for 3 full days and the lifeguards are amazing and very attentive. The pools & slides are for all ages and they even have both a kids and adults only hot tub ... nice for us adults. A draw back is that people are allowed to mark chairs or tables with towels for hours on end and just disappear ... perhaps a monitoring system of some kind would help. We waited & waited to find even 3-4 chairs for us to sit. We had reserved a cabana for one day which was well worth the value because there's plenty of seating, towels and lots of beverages. We loved that we did not have to carry a room key since the wrist band works as the key! Perfect Perfect The hotel is extremely clean & well kept, housekeeping does a great job, the bartenders are friendly, the pre & post communication are great, the staff are friendly. The condo is well stocked with lots of dishes, etc and plenty of towels. We will be back for another family fun time! read more

Very disappointed. Persisting Marijuana smell. The Booking: Had to reschedule to Wisc dells after hearing about Gurnee location extending closure. After calling corporate, we were finally able to get a 5 night stay booked in Wisconsin Dells for their opening day of June 30th despite us having to pay a much higher rate for a comparable room option. The Check-in: Only one person could go in to check in despite other families that were entering to use the bathroom or already checked in. Never received a text message that room was ready and had to just end up trying key to see if it worked. The Rooms: First room was dirty with bird poop all over patio and outdoor furniture. Toilet seat was mangled and broken. Ended up switching rooms 3 times and finally landed in the bigger condo portion of the lodge. The Stay: We started smelling a strong odor of marijuana that was permeating into the hallway just outside of our door. We reported this to the front desk and they replied that security would look into the matter. That night, we were smelling it again and also noticed that the occupants across the hall from us were being very loud and disruptive. Around midnight, we heard security knocking on a door in the hallway so we took a look and saw that they were attempting to speak with the occupants in that room across the hall. They were refusing to open the door or they didn't hear him knocking because of how loud they were. They finally answered and the security let them know that they had received multiple noise complaints from that room and to try to keep it down. He then apologized to them for disrupting whatever they were doing. The next day we continued to smell it in our bathroom and unit so we went to the front desk again. They said that security confirmed it was the room across from us and issued them the written warning and smoking fee. We continued to go back and forth with security on this and later that night into sunday they said they couldn't just kick someone out for a smell and that they could not pinpoint where it was coming from (the guy already confirmed it!). They also could not switch us rooms because they said they were booked solid (even though they are operating at 50% capacity). Additionally, they said there was really nothing more they could do because they 'are not the police'. I asked if we need to get the police involved as it is an illegal substance and in a non smoking facility. The manager said if we decided to go that route (calling the police), that we need to let them (front desk) know because they have 'protocols' that they have to take. Then he asked us 'What are you trying to get out of this?' We were floored when he actually said that to us. He also said that since it is legal in all of the surrounding states that we would have to deal with it whichever resort we go to in the area. The front desk manager eventually credited one night stay back to us and offered us a one night future stay but that was all he could do. We went ahead and added the additional night on to our current stay and switched rooms for that night (sunday night to monday) since we were already there. After finally switching units, we did not have any other issue with this other than still being able smell it down the hall. At least it wasn't coming into our unit forcing us to smell and breathe it. The Check-Out: I approached the front desk and let them know that we were checking out. She did not ask how our stay was but I would have been glad to tell her. She gave a receipt for the charges and sent me on my way. Out in the car, going over the invoice, it didn't seem right so we went back in. Sure enough, they 'forgot' to apply 95 dollars of our remaining credit to the account. Oh and while we were going over the invoice in our car, another family was bringing their things out of the side door and that also reeked of marijuana. So upon following that, we left the resort and headed home. Overall: I have never smelled so much marijuana at any resort/hotel. And we were extremely dissatisfied by how the situation was handled. They only refunded us one night and gave us an additional 'free' night for a future stay. However, we were dealing with this issue for at least 3 days. We will not be returning to this resort and if we ever do return to the Dells, it will be somewhere else. Also going to be reporting all of this to corporate. The redeeming quality was the waterpark and the actual staff that was around in the resort. Very satisfied with that. read more

Ordered food off the app you can use at their resort. And it was pick up only, so my wife and I took the long walk to get the food (still gave a tip) when we get to the place. Theres no sign of the name "hungry as wolf" no where did it say on the outside "hungry as a wolf" it was an ice cream shop with 2 entrances. We go in to see if this is where we are supposed to pick up the food and the worker "JoHannah" I approach and asked if this was "hungry as a wolf" I was ignored than walk around outside the shop looking for some indication...nothing, so we go back in and of course lost our spot in line. I went to the side to ask her again and she yelled and pointed "its over there!" We than walk to the other side of the ice cream shop and theres a kiosk. Nothing on there helped us get our food. Than "Johanna" grabs 2 bowls that are aluminum/tin..and throws it on the counter at us. With nothing to carry back in to the room. No forks no napkins no bag. So I took the food over too a "Hilton representative" and he did absolutely nothing even challenged what I said as if he was the police. No help what so ever. Just a simple do nothing white collar cuc. Barley anyone spoke English..I went on vacation and all I got was confrontation. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND 0/10 CUSTOMER SERVICE read more

I want everyone to be aware of what this company chose to do in the midst of a national crisis. The waterpark shut its doors March16th through April 1rst and was given a full refund. Anyone booked from the 2nd through the 17th could either cancel and pay a 15% fee or 30% depending on when you cancel or rebook with out a rebooking fee. Mind you, if you rebooked your rate would not apply, your promo code would not apply, you will have to pay whatever the price is at the time of you try to rebook. I am someone who was laid off first. I tried to cancel due to no income and was refused a full refund. I expressed my fear of not having money to feed my kids an there was no budging. It was either pay the fee or rebook at a differ rate. I refused. The next day my state issued a stay at home until the 7th. I called back and said my state ordered a stay at home until the 7th and my reservation is on the 6th. Now what? Again they refused and only offered the 15% fee or rebook. I even asked how am i supposed to rebook when i dont even know if i have a job to come back to. I work for a small business. No Budging! Finally i contacted them again a day after their own state updated their public gatherings order. I asked when they are going to update their policy because of the new rule and they had no answer. I told them i will be contacting the cdc, DHS, the BBB, their governor, their mayor and news outlets regarding their unfair treatment of people during this time. I received my full refund! Also i know there was a woman who has a son with a heart condition and was ordered by her doctor to stay indoors and no travel. They did not give her a full refund. They charged her the 15%fee! At this time it shows you exactly what kind of people you are supporting in this world. read more

Staff was welcoming & friendly as always. This was my son and I's third visit to a Great Wolf Lodge. We have now been to three different ones and are starting to have expectations. This one just like the one in Mason, Ohio, had a much bigger water park then the one in Kansas City. This water park just like the one in Mason, Ohio, also had a wave pool. The downfall to this water park was it was sectioned off into three different rooms. One room had the wave pool, one room had the water jungle gym and the other room had the intermediate water slides for like my sons age. The problem with this is every time my son wanted to go somewhere different we always had to move our stuff first so that got annoying. Between the first and second rooms is a bar and between the main room and the third room is a cafe and little shop so there was quite a distance between the three rooms. I would say for that reason the Mason, Ohio, water park was better. The arcade was about the same size as the one in Mason, Ohio, minus the indoor mini golf and bowling. The WiFi like always at Great Wolf Lodge is FREE. The up charge for breakfast package is worth it but was not as good as the one in Mason, Ohio, for breakfast here you sat at a table and were waited on. Where as at the one in Mason, Ohio, you were given a table and then directed towards the buffet. The only thing served was your drinks. There are no other food options inside the resort but there are quite a few around the resort. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and very spacious. Conveniently located right at the beginning of the Wisconsin Dells strip and in the same parking lot as the outlet mall. Another little tidbit is Great Wolf Lodge uses DISH network for their television service and right now DISH is in contract negotiations with DISNEY so while we were there we did not have any of the ESPN channels. My rating 4/5-I went with a four because it's a fun getaway but it's not on the same level as the one in Mason, Ohio. read more

Had to go back to room to get paper pass which reservations were on the app they tell you to download and then can't redeem. Also, signage is horrible. Finding the main lobby is like being in a maze. Multiple guest were wondering around going from directional arrows to directional arrows because none mention where the main lobby was located. Came here for the first time and stayed over Memorial Weekend for 1 night to celebrate my daughters birthday with her friends. Check in was a breeze. Very fast check in process. Plenty of staff members on hand. At check in I mentioned we are here to celebrate a birthday and they gave my daughter special wolf ears headband and special memorial weekend wolf ears for her friends. That was a nice touch. The indoor waterpark is ideal for smaller kids. There was tiny lazy river that is an extension from a water slide. I've been to better lazy rivers. The hot tubs were not that warm especially the one that was adults only. The Tornado attraction was the only favorite ride my teenagers enjoyed. Everything else was better for little kids. The rooms that we got was the fireplace suite. Had 2 queen beds and 1 pull out sofa sleeper. It was great for our party of six. Rooms were clean and spacious. However there wasn't enough soap, shampoo, and pillows and blankets which we had to request. The rooms also had a musty smell. On top of that we were in the condominium suite which the room next door was cooking some awful smelling food. It wasn't pleasant. The biggest issue I had was the noise level. We were on the 1st floor and the guests upstairs from us were jumping so hard I thought they we're going to fall through the floor. We called to complain and were told this is a family resort and that this is to be expected. Really? All I would have liked was a response like we can have our staff go and see what's going on. Eventually they said they would send security over to check. Also the WiFi connection is very POOR. We had no cellphone reception (I have T-mobile & Sprint). Both carriers struggled here. I called the operator and was told the WiFi crashed but it never came back up all night despite them saying it did. The next day it was fine. Assuming that's because all the kids were swimming at the water park and not on their WiFi devices. Great Wolf should really look into better routers to accommodate capacity of guest especially over a popular holiday weekend like Memorial Day. Overall, I don't plan on ever coming back to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. We have always stayed at the Wilderness Resort and although they also have their cons, their pros outweigh the pros at the Great Wolf Lodge. We also got the deal through Groupon and paid about $280 for 1 night. This is not cheap even at the Groupon rate. So keeping that in mind, we've always found the Wilderness to be a better value and we have never had WiFi connection issues there. The rooms are not as spacious but that's ok because we aren't in the rooms all day. Plenty more water parks to enjoy at Wilderness vs the few available at the Great Wolf. Really upset fellas. Everything was great about this place until we found bedbugs all over one of the beds. Two of our younger siblings got bit by them. Sheets filled with blood stains from bed bugs. Really upset at the outcome. Please check on beds when you get there and be careful you never know with covid or in a tourist attraction what these bedbugs will carry. It should be cleaned everytime. How could an infestation of bed bugs not be caught during daily cleaning? This tells you they clean rapidly without attention to detail. read more

I arrived at the great wolf lodge in wisconsin at 3pm on July 5th 22, I originally booked a family suite for two nights but was able to upgrade to a loft room for extra fee. I checked into room 462. The loft room has 3 beds & a sofa sleeper. 1 bed is up in the loft & the other 2 beds plus sofa sleeper is downstairs. I had 7 guests in my room including myself but I was the only one to sleep on the loft bed upstairs. I woke up several times on the night of the 5th &Around 130 am I woke up extremely itchy & looked in the mirror and noticed bites on my side. I was so tired so I went back to sleep, by the morning I had 27 different bites & called front desk right away, they sent the head of house keeping to my room and I showed her the bites on my left side which there is a total of 13 of them just on my side. I also had bites on my butt, breasts, back of my knee, lower right side and middle of my back. The head of housekeeping asked to step into my room to discuss the issue to which I replied I wouldn't be willing to discuss inside the room as my kids are in the room and I didn't want to scare them& ruin the vacation as I was highly upset to which she replied "well the hallway in front of other guests is not the place to discuss" They then advised me they would have someone come take the report and have a 3rd party investigate and inspect the room and we would be moved to a new room and have all of our belongings under heat tents for 4 hours to kill any bed bugs if there were any and would move our things to the new condo. The person who came to take the report gave me hydrocortisone cream packets and spoke to me for a total of 3 minutes. We were then moved to the new room by 1pm which was a condo on the opposite side of the hotel. I then called house keeping about 3 hours later and asked what would be the charge for an additional night as our first full day of vacation was completely ruined having to move 7 people and all there belongings to a new room 4 of them being kids who are ready to have breakfast and go enjoy vacation. I was advised that it would be 150$ for the additional night which I agreed because it was discounted and wanted to have time with my kids and was moved to the condo which is normally 900$/night. I then was brought our things and again showed the head of housekeeping the bites all over me but was advised that the 3rd party company has cleared the room, I found that very hard to believe and was told it could be spiders. Later I was told my 3rd nights stay would be free. Either way the room was infested with something that munched on me all night. The new condo also had centipedes with hundreds of legs that I saw on 3 different occasions one of which slithered behind the wall of the bed where the head board was. There was also cigarettes in bottles and the room you could tell wasn't cleaned thoroughly. The sofa sleeper couch had wrappers and tj max tags. Towels had toothpaste stains & no one brushed there teeth yet. 3 of my guests ended up leaving early. And I stayed the extra night for free. I'm now home with 27 bug bites &it was embarrassing to walk around in a bathing suit all bitten up and now the bites are painful& itchy and I requested the report from the 3rd party and have yet to recieve it: I will be going to the doctor on Monday and will update my review with what the doctor says these Bites are! I can't believe as expensive as this place is I still paid 600$ to stay here and come home in pain with bites not knowing what they are whether there mites or bed bugs! I'm so disgusted with this hotel and the customer service trying to cover up the fact that something is infested! As much money as they make they should be irradiating the issues right away ¬ allowing them to spread. The house keeper acted like they've done this same procedure multiple times! The amount of stress is not worth the water park or the price!! They should be shut down until cleaned the right way!!! I have pictures to prove all of this! read more

I'd go with 0, but that's not an option. From the start, this stay was an absolute joke. We walked into a room that had a toilet that did not function. The room itself was not what we put a deposit on. We ordered 2 queen beds on the first floor and 1 on the upper loft. We got 1 total. When we called and asked it was like talking to the hand. No other rooms were open as they were booked. We were told that we were given what we ordered, but we also know that is not true. We ordered 2 bathrooms for our party as one of the party has ulcerative colitis and needs a bathroom at a moment's notice. They use faulty photos to show their "workout" room. Their photos show multiple machines and free weights. When in reality there were only 4 machines and no free weights. The water park itself was o.k. but had not been improved since our last visit 3 years ago. That statement also holds true for the entire resort. An aging facility that has faulty equipment. What? Our bathroom door was locked without access by our toddlers, not once but twice. Took over a collective hour for them to come for the repairs twice. Not good timing as there was an urgent need for the bathroom on the second occurrence. Kind of hard to stop the toddler, once they close the door. With a newer door handle with an emergency button, these problems would not have occurred. Plus, there were multiple parts in the room where there were aging signs and the appearance is shabby, At the end of our stay, my wife went to the front desk to explain our displeasure with our stay and was basically just stared at. The absolute worst Great Wolf Lodge we have ever stayed at. We got no sleep because of as we were told a birthday party in the room above us. The noise level is far above any noise I've ever heard in my 40+ years of traveling. I've never experienced such a terrible stay at any hotel. After 5.. yes that's right 5 visits from security to our room at all hours of the night (and at some points security sitting in our room to listen to the level of craziness that we were dealing with) there was no remedy to the situation. Security went to the room 5 times to ask them to be quiet. After speaking with the manager and asking for the situation to be resolved there was still no help. Im not one to complain normally because I realize that obviously there is some level of noise in all hotels as to be expected because generally people are traveling for vacations or to have a little fun and most families have children as do we. Aside from the extreme noise that couldn't be remedied at any point I'd also like to mention a few other problems that we encountered with this stay. Upon checking in we seen that the bathroom light switch was hanging out of the socket and we notified the front desk of the safety hazard and was told that someone would look at it. This is day 6 of our 7 day stay and we still haven't seen anyone to look at it nor has it been fixed. Also several days after checking in I noticed an additional charge of 403.01 which was for the deposit that I had already paid 8 months earlier when I booked the stay, they have assured me that they will be issuing me a refund for that charge and they did apologize but I'm not sure this isn't something that happens often and they just hope people won't catch it because as I was checking in when we arrived the lady standing next to me was also trying to resolve the same issue of being charged twice. If you want a peaceful stay without issues I would advise any location other than this Great Wolf lodge. There are an abundance of other choices here that have amazing water parks and hopefully more accommodating if a problem should arise. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. If this helps only one family have a better vacation than we have then my time spent on this review was worth it. As much money as we spend to travel we all just want to have a good experience doing so. I've never left a review on any stay that we've had and we travel a lot but I felt that I needed to warn anyone that was thinking of staying at this Great Wolf to reconsider and stay somewhere else. read more

Great weekend spent with Miltown families. Plenty of things to do with our 14 month old twins. Smaller kids areas and just relaxing. Fun story time on the lobby at night. We can't wait to go back. I wish they had postcards because we send them to the kids everywhere we go so they have a memory to keep. Luckily the gas station next store had post cards. Got a prism style wolf card for both kids to fit the them. read more

Just spent 2 days here following Christmas. To preface, the staff here are very friendly, from the front desk to the water park folks. However, a few other areas were lacking. For starters, we were supposed to check in at 4. We arrived early, having been told it wasn't a problem, and that we could do the water park until our room was ready and they'd email us. 4 PM, still no email. 4:45, called the front desk and they told us we'd have a room pronto. Finally got it closer to 5:30. As we walked to our room, we could see they were struggling to clean rooms, probably due to so many people checking out that day. Sucks though, that despite saying our room was ready, it was obviously not thoroughly cleaned! Crap all over the floor, like dirty/keep your socks on floors, and when I unfolded a blanket that night, someone else's hair was all over it! Eww!! The "show" with the characters in the evening was lacking. Kids were bored by the talking, and not very politically correct, 1980s robots. Just not very captivating. Good choice of restaurants - we did both the coffee shop/pizzeria/sweet shoppe a few times and the selection was good. The Lodge Grille was also pretty solid for dinner. The water park was nice. Lots to do. I'd like to see more seating areas, as well as additional life guards at the wave pool (at one point there was only 1). Also, saw some dirt residue in the wave pool, so had some concerns about cleanliness. But - again, lots to do and the kids were all thrilled! read more

So we spent over 1000$ for a two nite stay here and this is what we get bugs lots of them broken beds and blood on mattresses dust everywhere and hair in shower and pubic hair in toilet... I'm pretty sure our room was not cleaned before we got there plus the stains on the couch and food under beds.. only have it one star cause it wouldn't let me give it a big fat zero... never go here u will go home with bugs and then they only offer a 25% discount off first nite stay... all the nastyness I should've been fully refunded... never ever will we go bavk read more

This trip was so disappointing. We spent so much money to stay overnight two nights with our kids and arrived to a dirty room. We thought it may have been an oversight with the empty beverage left on the bunkbed room but then later our daughter found candy wrappers in the bed alongside the bunkbed. It was clear the room was not cleaned, which was discovered at the last night of our stay, which was very upsetting. During our stay, we spent a ridiculous amount at the restaurant for dinner where the food was burnt and the services was terrible. The waitress kept forgetting our order and I had to keep going to the bar to get service. We also never had our room cleaned, which they stated later was "not their practice." We ran out of towels and toilet paper. They did bring more but why they didn't have more in the room when it is a family room was confusing to us. I also spoke to the manager who didn't seem to have much to say. I doubt we will be back when having such a bad experience and such a lack of care to making us want to come back again. read more

Nice quick getaway. First time here. Was ok, not great. The good: Room was clean, beds comfortable, water park was clean, staff friendly. Lots to do. Has an arcade also. Outlet mall across the parking lot on walking distance. Close to downtown Dells. Not so good: WAY too expensive! Too many teens working there that could careless. Every pool, spa, etc in the water park has a max limit and it was ignored. The bathrooms in room are way to small for a family. Food was ok priced but adult beverages very pricey. Prizes in Arcade total junk and a complete waste of money. And tell me why during a holiday weekend the WATERPARK CLOSES AT 8PM! read more

The water park and junk--SO cute-so fun--for a child--however as a young adult roped into a family vacation I thought at least my alcoholism would be treated to a few drinks at the bar with my father--However-while attempting to order a coors, the bartender denied me. Sally(said bartender) was actually a delightful individual and made me feel a tad bit better about having to settle for water. I understand that the hotel has their own policies but they should really consider updating them. Staff are rude. I ordered bed rails prior to my stay and was told they'd be in my room by the online chat, they werent delivered. The e check in didn't work. The wristbands didn't open the door. I stayed in a royal bear suite. Peeling wallpaper. The same artwork on the walls when I came here 25 years ago. They apparently don't use fitted sheets?!! The animals behind the elevators had huge cobwebs on them. Dust bunnies you could visibly see going down the elevator. This is like a motel. Then to get charged for towels because no one tells you you are supposed to scan the wristband when You return. The person saw me returning and didn't say anything. I was met with an attitude and eye rolling when I shared my concerns , "we are an older hotel now. I expect way more for an $800 two night stay. She didn't even offer to remake the bed after saying it should have been made better. A lot of the interactive water things didn't work. The toddler tadpool area had a mesh fencing that had a huge hole in it that it looks like they had tried to fix with zip ties in the past. The slides would be closed with no notice. The tube slide had 4 double tubes. My 40 in rider couldn't go without a double The people just kept going without giving up their tube despite people waiting. After a 15 minute wait with no tube and a meltdown later, he didn't get to go down any tube slides Not friendly for an autistic child. First room smelled like old, wet dog. Waited 20min to get access for new room due to "frozen" computer. AC in room is super loud. Son got Noro Virus from the pool. Unbelievably hot (like, sauna hot) in the indoor pool (too cheap to turn on AC?). Wave pool water way over body temperature, making it unbearable to stay in for long. Water fountain water tastes like mold. Other son got shocked by exposed wires on lamp plug that was plugged into table top outlet. The water park is fine but the hotel is not worth it. read more

Stay at the Wilderness or Kalahari - don't stay here! Check in was fine but isn't until 4pm, you're allowed to go the water park at 1pm. Room was a bit dirty and lacking - sink didn't drain. shower didn't drain, no bedding for the sofa bed. Minimal slides in the waterpark, one tiny adult hot tub and the whole park closes at 8pm! Also only one small bathroom for the entire waterpark and they are not well maintained. Food is also lacking, minimal choices which was average at best, though the kids liked it. Arcade is small and ridiculously overpriced. Overall for the cost, underwhelming and not worth it - Wilderness will get my money next time. read more
