We were charge upon check in what they called an "authorization" hold. What we found weird is no one else checking in was asked to do this not even the people we went on this trip with. It is now over 6 months later and they have yet to refund the charge back to us. We were told it was just a hold that would fall off at check out but they 100% charge us. For all these months we keep sending them proof of all charges and even with the evidence in front of them they will not give us the money back. They are claiming it is part of the room yet I have the charge of the room I have showed them multiple times. We have spent months dealing with them and they have yet to fix the issue and they will ignore us for weeks at a time. They even sent us to a person higher up and it has been over 2 weeks of showing him the proof and he has never responded. Very unprofessional and rude as well. Be aware if you decide to go here. It is not worth the hassle. I recommend looking into other places in the dells. To start out. Don't believe the slogan, the price you see is NOT the price you pay booking. I was suppose to pay a specific amount. And when I got my invoice at checkout, it was a lot higher then this supposed, price you see is the price you pay lie. Prices are very expensive here so plan on eating down the road. Long check in lines. Pools are very crowded, and life guards barely speak English. Another issue you'll find is you have to pay $19 extra per night parking fees as well as resort fees that they say they don't charge. Oh yeah, they also charge you almost 8% credit card fee. So BEWARE. Don't be fooled by the low room rates cause they definitely get that back without telling you. It's all another resort that spoofs you at the end of your stay. Probably why they don't give your bill prior to checkout. Not happy with this place. Very Doughtful ill ever come back. Disney world is cheaper. read more

After I cancelled Wilderness for a ten times better price for Great Wolf through Groupon.com I was a bit hesitant to see what I signed up for. In all honesty, my family and I were very pleasantly surprised with our results. First, it's awesome that Great Wolf allows for up to 6 people per room. Four children and two adults makes it rather difficult to find accommodations that suit our needs in typical situations. Upon our check in the woman was very accommodating and offered upgrades. However, since we paid approximately 70% less than their list price and the upgrades did not include this discount we declined. We were on the 4th floor and it definitely helped we had high ceilings, it felt like we had more room than we did. If you are looking to stay for a rest and relaxation vacation, request farthest from the main lobby. Fun times were had by all! My family and I enjoyed the Tornado waterslide, which was absolutely awesome! Hands down, this waterslide was the best. The other waterslides weren't the greatest, but the racing one was fun enough. Every night Great Wolf also had a dance party with bubbles and music, a definite plus for families. Would we return? Yes. read more

When we got there the fridge wasn't working and I called to let them know and within minutes I had a new one. The tornado ride definitely needs a Conveyor belt for getting those rafts up to the top. They are very heavy with alot of stairs. Loved the ride but was only able to go it once due to the tremendous hike with the raft I had to go through. Very friendly staff and lots of events for the kids. Very overpriced on the food but it was delicious. We also took advantage of the refillable souvenier cups for our stay. I would recommend this hotel but know they also charge you $400 hold (which we were not told about till check in) and it gets refunded 5-14 days after check out (depending on your bank). This has been my favorite of the Great Wolf Lodge locations. Our wheelchair accessible room was spacious and beautiful. I love how they have accessible pool lifts for every pool, jacuzzi, and even the lazy river. The outside pool had a lift and a zero entry for wheelchairs. The wave pool had zero entry. The splash pad is also accessible and so much fun. There's a cool arcade, and we even did the Magic Quest since it came with our room package. Pizza was just OK, but my kid loved it. The little shows, kid yoga and coloring contests were hits with my son. We had such a wonderful time, we can't wait to go back! read more

The resort appeared to be under maintained and under staffed. The heat in our room was broken. Apparently the furnace was disconnected with open wires when the maintenance person opened the closet. We were able to change rooms after a couple hours spent unpacking, finding the heat didn't work, repacking, and moving rooms. There were also several things broken/shut down. Slides were closed, water features were broken, and areas of MagicQuest closed/roped off. The place seemed understaffed, as well. One person manning two different rides by going back and forth. One person manning two counters at the coffee shop and ice cream/snack bar. This made wait times much longer than necessary. After checking out, we were charged $250 for towels we returned and the explanation was that the system automatically charges people. What kind of crap is that? People have to call in to be refunded for towels? read more

This is our second time staying here and it will most definitely be our last. From the moment we checked in, I had known I made a mistake booking here. The doors when you first walk in to check in were disgusting. Fingerprints, and god knows what else. They clearly don't care that is the first representation of the hotel. It only got worse from there. As, soon as I entered the building, there was little to no air conditioning on in the main hallway and I soon found out this was going on throughout the hallways in the hotel. The check in counter was being run by children, it took 20 minutes to check in because they all didn't know what they were doing and kept having to stop to help each other. Also, after they rob you blind for the daily rate they have their hand out for a parking fee per day. The price per day when I booked was around $420, upon receiving my email receipt they charged me $544 for one day. We booked the kid cabin suite, and as I said have been at this hotel before. Imagine my shock to see that they took the TVs out of the kids room. When I call to see if maybe I had booked the wrong suite, they said the TVs had been purposely taken out. You are unable to communicate in basic English to the majority of the staff here and really anywhere in the dells. To not be able to speak English and you're a lifeguard? That's kind of scary. Every employee here was down right nasty. I watched a bar tender send an African American guest back to his room for his ID but upon another guest of a different nationality he never even carded them. All in all, I would never ever return to ANY great wolf establishment. The fact that they charged me OVER what the amount stated when I booked is fraud plain and simple and I plan to report them to my credit card company. One of the worst hotel stays we've ever had. Arrived at 4pm. Room was not ready. Had to wait until 7PM to get into our room, with two toddlers who had just driven three hours in a car. Wasted the entire afternoon/evening waiting for the room. Checked in with the staff a few times during the process, who were completely apathetic and said "there's nothing they could do." Got into the room. Got our kids settled. Enjoyed the evening on the couch, watched some TV. About midnight we got into bed. THE SHEETS WERE NOT CHANGED. THERE WAS URINE IN THE BED. ON THE SHEETS. ON THE BED PAD. ALL THE WAY TO THE MATTRESS. Called the front desk, who very unceremoniously had housekeeping drop a bag of linens outside our door. So we stripped the bed, turned the mattress, and then used every piece of linen we could find in the room to get enough of a barrier to where we could feel comfortable enough sleeping. What's the alternative? Are we gonna drag toddlers out of bed at midnight and demand a new room? Based on our arrival, I'm sure it wouldn't be ready... Absolutely no staff follow up on this. I torched them in their "how was your stay" BS questionnaire. We got an email asking to set up a time to speak to the Housekeeping Manager. Not the GM, or Assistant Manager, but either way - we followed up, and were then ghosted by that manager. So this hotel doesn't give a shit. They'll take your money, waste your time, and let you sleep on a pissed on mattress. We'll stay across the street next time. read more

We have been coming here since 2002 and yes things have changed a little. Check in was easy and there is now a $15 a night charge for parking. Kids still received their free wolf ears in the gift shop. Rooms and decor are the same but with updated bedding. Some furniture has been replaced, like nightstands, but mostly it's all the same so yes there's wear and tear but still not too bad. Water park is the same. Exactly the same which made it fun cuz we bought the grandkids this time. They open later in the morning and close earlier at night but still enough time to wear the kids out. Drinks and food are pricey but that's how it is everywhere. I did purchase the dining credit where you pay $120 b4 check in but get $150. The restaurant in the lobby is the same as when it was called the Loose Moose Bar and Grill but the taste just isn't there. I would recommend leaving the hotel for your big dinner or breakfast. All the staff we encountered during our stay were polite and helpful. read more

Am I the only one that has a love/hate relationship with the Dells? All of the red tape (minimum stays, hidden fees, the TRAFFIC) that almost dares you to still have a good time after gleefully emptying your wallet. Great Wolf Lodge is not a cheap date, either. I was leaning towards a three-star review, but the differentiating factor here was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly nice and patient, which is all the more surprising when you consider that you're hard-pressed to find an employee north of 30, and the place is wall-to-wall Illinois residents and wet children! Lifeguards are a plenty and do a good job of keeping everyone safe; they don't take any grief, which I appreciated. Rooms are decent but not overly plush or fancy. I found the bed and pillows way too soft for my tastes and the televisions were far too small for the size of the rooms. But the fireplace was a nice touch and let us dry our swimwear in-between bouts of water park fun. The mini fridge and second sink were nice touches as well. One big miss is the fitness center, which is amazingly small for the size of the hotel. While the equipment in it is decent, it would not take much for the room to feel overly crowded. read more

The kids had fun, but are blissfully unaware how bad this place is. A $500 room with check-in at 4 p.m. The Waterpark closes at 8 and restaurants close at 9..... 4 hours to swim. Fine... but to come back to a room that is dusty and falling apart with nowhere to go is unacceptable. The light switches have gaps between the actual switch on the plate. The walls were patched in spots with no paint and unfinished. The lamp shades a above the table were caked with dust. It's gross. To spend the money on something special for your kids and be slapped in the face. My suggestion would be book a hotel room and buy Waterpark passes. Parents are walking around like robbed zombies and it's bullshit. That hotel room was gross. I will also add the tub was clogged and the toilet barely flushed as well. Close to $1500 for a night at the great wolf and it's a dirty shit hole. Cool. Don't stay here. read more

I have been staying here with my family for years now but this stay should definitely be the last, the staff was amazing and overall slaying queens. However the water slides were slow, and honestly kinda ew, while waiting in line for a slide I noticed a bandaid on the wall and when going back the next day it was still there, nope that's not all, me and my brother Charles, were walking up the stairs to a slide when we noticed a furry friend next to us, it was not in fact an animal but mold growing on the pipe though it was probably a living creature. The one hour wait just to check in was ridiculous, along with the 15$ parking fee per night, even though there were barely any spots anyways. Me and my brother Charles spend the most time in the room with the big bucket, where we like to use the little bucket things to dump water on little children. BUT of course every single one was out of order this was literally so uncool man. The rooms were ok but overall thumbs down for Ted Samson. read more

This was my first experience with Great Wolf and also in the Wisconsin Dells. I was shocked to see that on top of the room rate and resort fees, that we had to pay for parking. I learned very quickly that the real theme at Great Wolf is "extra fees." I liked that we were able to get into the water park when we arrived, even though our room was not yet ready (hours before check-in time,) which helped us to make the most of our trip with three young kids. Other things I liked: pool towels and life vests/floaties are provided. Hit or miss: *food. The breakfast offering was very limited, and although served "family style," basically breakfast buffet, powdered eggs, mass produced pancakes, greasy sausage and bacon, stale cinnamon rolls. *customer service. I went to the front desk at one point because housekeeping had not come to our room and we needed towels and extra pillows, and the phone in the room was not working. The front desk agent at that time had zero interest in helping me. When I told her I had come to the desk because the phone wasn't working, she said "well, it should be." Okay, well, it's not, so here I am. I explained my request, and she told me I should've texted Willow, the Great Wolf virtual assistant. I had to ask for her to assist me, as I was already standing there. "Well, I guess I can put that request in for you." So sorry to inconvenience you. My husband at one point asked a lifeguard if he was within size limit to go down an enclosed water slide. The response was "I'm not from this country, and I don't know the conversion from metric." So, the lifeguard staff doesn't know whether or not someone qualifies to ride? That's scary. First aid staff was attentive, once they got to you. We watched a woman fall while holding a small child and assisted in asking for aid. The nearest personnel was outside, and when they came in to assist, there was no sense of urgency to actually get to the injured person/people. We were waving them over, and they were just moseying along. Once they did get to her, she was swarmed with multiple first aid personnel. I liked that the room we had was equipped with separate space for the kids, but the comfort of the beds and pillows were pretty terrible. As I mentioned before, housekeeping never came to the room, but I don't know what their policy is on the frequency of cleaning. If we return to the dells, we will probably look at a different resort, but great wolf might still win our business. read more

Overall, we had a good time. This location is a better value than the California ones. The Waterpark itself was good. We rented a cabana for the day. We got 4 water bottles included. The food was mediocre. They had some decent adult drinks, though. The atmosphere is very loud. There were a lot of rooms with different water options. They had a refillable water station. Wish they had one outside the Waterpark, though. Our cabana had a deck of cards and a TV. We also had a server. The server only works from 11 to 4pm. Yet, you get the cabana all day. Our server was ok. The water park is best in the morning. We had the place to ourselves at opening. By 2pm it was packed and all slides had waits. The Tornado is so fun, but the hike up with the 4 person raft is excruciating. What a workout! There is a lack of good food options available here. We paid for the breakfast "buffet" option. It was served family style and rather boring. The best part was the fruit. It needed healthier options. The room was decent. It was a family suite with bunk beds. Room gets stuffy. Air does not stay on. Beds were kind of comfy. Fitness Center is very small. 2 weight machines and like 3 treadmills. There were wipes but always out of them. The water was always gone. And if you have to pee, the bathrooms by the fitness center did not open till later in the day. read more

my fiancé booked her and myself for a one-day pass at the indoor waterpark and she is a teacher. Great Wolf Lodge offers a reduced rate for "Heros" and as a result her pass was $10 cheaper than mine. we were also told when we checked-in that we would receive a $10 credit on her wristband. When she tried to redeem it and purchase a soft pretzel at the indoor water park's restaurant we were told by the manager that it wouldn't work. and that we would have to pay. this was just frustration added because they had also got the booking wrong and it took extra long for the staff at the front desk to get us our day passes. read more

We have stayed many times in the past and have always had an excellent experience. It has been a few years and we decided to come back. We were disappointed unfortunately. While we didn't have any major incidents, Great Wolf Lodge has gone downhill on many fronts. We did not realize that they now offer day passes to non-staying guests. The fact that they kept it inclusive to overnight guests only was one of the reasons we decided to return. Keeping it for overnight guests only kept it less crowded and cleaner in our opinion. It was way too crowded for our liking and there was food on the floors of the waterpark, which I never one time saw anyone clean it up. Sad. The room itself was clean which was nice. The staff at the front desk were very inconsistent upon check-in. While I heard one employee give many details about the stay, the employee who checked us in gave very little details. Many things I would have not known had I not heard the other employee telling another guest. And lastly, was VERY disappointed that Great Wolf Lodge now charges overnight guests $19/night to park in the lot. This was not a thing in the past. I can understand charging "day pass" guests, but charging overnight guests that already pay almost $400/night is ridiculous! Unfortunately with these points, this will be our last time staying at Great Wolf Lodge. We will seek other options in the future. read more

PAY PAY PAY! We got an expensive room with the "Wolf Den" a little themed alcove that has bunk beds. The main bed was a full sized. I know few couples who don't even use a queen bed these days. The carpet felt like it had never been vacuumed. The pools are fun but the water was brownish. On top of the considerable room rate there were $60 per night in unadvertised "fees" AND $15 per night to park a vehicle! There is a little shop and I got a premade sandwich, $16. Next time we'll just stay somewhere cheaper and get a water park pass, somewhere else. read more

We had an amazing time during our weekend at Great Wolf Lodge. Everyone who worked there was kind. We went the 3 days before Thanksgiving and everyone was joyful and happy. I had heard bad things about the food but we found most of it very enjoyable, especially the onsite restaurant. My girls really loved magiquest and of course the waterpark. Our stay during November 18th-November 20th 2022 was not the greatest. It was a let down for our mini family/friend group vacation. We were not the only family that had problems during our stay. The staff had attitude and did not have any answers to provide information regarding the indoor pool and their water slides. Most water slides were not open due to this location being short staffed. If this Great Wolf location is so short staffed, why even offer rooms to stay in when children do not get the full experience. You spend a good chunk of money and this is the end result. The arcade was another issue as almost half the games were inoperable. Again, you are spending money and trying to make sure your kids are having a good time and then you discover they are unable to. The hotel room was not the greatest either. I discovered a bug running around in the bathroom on our final day. There appears to be blood stains on the sheets as well. These stains were not caused by myself nor my family. The fact that I even found a bug in the bathroom makes me wonder if there were bugs any where else. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt for places, especially because I know so many companies and people have suffered and still suffer from the repercussions from Covid. But Covid has passed, things have been getting back to normal, so Great Wolf needs to figure it out with their staffing and ensuring that families are being accommodated especially for the prices this resort charges. I will more than likely not go back. Things need to change in order for that to happen. It's definitely upsetting considering I always heard so many good things about this location. read more

My 11 year old and 13 year old give it five stars. My 9 yo drops it to 4 because we don't have free breakfast or a hot tub in our room. My 11 yo says, "I enjoyed staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. The waterslides are amazing; I especially liked the Tornado. The Tornado is really fun my little sister was too scared to ride it because you go almost straight down and then you go on this Tornado. The Tornado is basically kind of a funnel shape and you exit through the bottom." With kids here ages 6-13, I like that there is something for each age group. I like that there are lots of planned activities for kids on the hour if we choose to take advantage of it. The value is good- water park entry included and we got a suite so we could spread out a bit. We opt to save money by getting groceries and eating in our room. 11 says "The room that I stayed in is really nice. it has three beds a pull out couch three TVs and One and a half bathrooms. We had a family in the room above us who were completely rude they allowed their children to act fools and run and jump around from m 7 am on. That was the worst time I ever spent in a room. For what I spent for this stay it was 100%not worth it! Let's talk about the ass who took it upon himself to park in the handicapped parking unmarked. Those of us who are actually handicapped and marked couldn't park there. I spoke with willow about this but the police were not called. Nor was he made to move. Nice hotel as always. Was told when making reservations that the hot tubs would be open, turns out they're not. Closed because of COVID. Television size is pitiful considering I booked a deluxe room. Overall good experience. If the hot tubs were open and the TV wasn't smaller than the one in my garage I'd be much less aggravated right now. Our room was available at 11am and they let us check in right then and there instead of waiting until after 3pm as usual to get into the room. Super nice of them. First off all I made a stay for 4 days and 3 nights. I paid over $1k and my card was stolen my bank locked out of my account so all I could rely on was cash. I went up to check in told the lady my situation about my card and I wasn't able to open my statement for proof. She called a manager and he told me there's nothing he can do they can refund me the money I kept telling him why is he gonna refund it back to my card that was just stolen. He was giving me a really hard time but the family in front of me had the same problem they didn't have the card they paid with but just so happens they were let in and I had to make a whole new reservation at a new park! And I drove 3+ hours I was tired and aggravated. I didn't like the fact that another family was more privileged, let into the hotel while I had go leave and book more money for my vacation. I would never go back here it's honestly not even worth going read more

Our crew of 5 adults and two kids stayed in the kid cabin suite and it was super fun! We loved the wooded creature theme and my nephew adored the bunk beds! Thankfully my sister and niece are short ppl so they fit in the tiny bunks - beware they are not regular sized! The water park definitely was worth it and was enough to fill our cup for the long weekend. The Howlin Thunder is by the far the best ride for adults but we enjoyed being outside and the various slides indoors as well. It feels hot inside at first but once you get wet it doesn't feel so uncomfortable. The prices for food are typical for the touristy area and the staff are mostly teenagers (in the summer when we went anyway) so roll with it and you should have a great time! Only issue we had was the wifi was super spotty and since they don't clean your room everyday getting trash taken out/new bags was a really big hassle. read more

Disappointing is the only word. Not a lack of staff, rather a lack of empowerment and leadership. 2nd year coming here hoping the first disappointing experience was a fluke. Still over selling the water park. Evidence? Lack of places for lodge guests to sit with family/eat in the water park area. Constant extended waiting lines for most things. Overcrowded pools. Even had to wait for 2hrs to get our room AFTER checkin with no consideration of the delay (hint, offer late check out!). Thus, facility and staff are overwhelmed. The campus is in need of updating/cleaning, however, I bet if they had not oversold so much, it may be possible to turn it around. Just disappointing if you are coming for a relaxing weekend hoping to avoid really long lines and grumpy staff. read more

I don't know what happened to this place,but it's not good. Greed at its finest here now. First we waited nearly an hour to check in. It's a mess! As we were getting in line, a smug employee approached us and suggested only one person wait in line and the other people and kids can go look in the gift shop. Ummm... I don't think so! Then we are surprised with a 15.00 parking fee per night. We have stayed here for decades, never been charged this before. Super weird- of course they tax the parking fee too. Now, keep in mind it's not a secured and monitored lot. What exactly am I paying for? It does show the fee online, but I didn't think to look because of my 50 or more stays here I have never had this before. They used to give out free wolf ears to your party at check in as well, we didn't get any this visit. Probably charge for them now too. We have plenty at home, had I known we would not get them anymore, I would have brought some from prior visits. The room was okay, but it needs love. The bathroom fan did not work, the shower was fragile to where I was afraid it would break, the sheets were ripped, the toilet took 2 flushes for 1 piece of paper, and the walls are still THIN! People above me stomping around- I guess ask for a top floor room if you do decide to stay. The dining options here are strange for a family oriented hotel. I don't know too many kids that want to eat at a steakhouse, or parents that want to pay for their kids to eat at a steakhouse! It's an odd choice for this type of hotel. Of course, nobody was in the restaurant. The waterpark was cleaner than prior stays, but needs attention as well. Lots of broken things, the button for the adult hot tub was broken so no jets, and for some reason it was cold in there too, couldn't swim long due to the temperature. They also quarantined off a large area of tables and chairs and now have it marked "premium seating". It's not a cabana or even a desirable area, just a place to sit. Again, money grabbing! We have loved coming here for years, but my entire family (kids included) have decided after this visit, it's best to part ways with great wolf lodge. They aren't too big to fail, and I have a feeling in the near future they may file bankruptcy. When a company starts to nickel and dime you, that's a sure sign they are in some financial trouble. It's sad really, but they clearly aren't using the funds to update the place. It's showing its age, yet they still want top dollar. I have been going to the Dells for years and this year I made the mistake of going to the so-called Great Wolf Lodge and what a mistake that was! After the Wilderness Resort the Great Wolf Lodge was a big disappointment! The place is not that clean compared to the Wilderness and the front desk staff do not seem to totally know what they are doing. I paid for a room but was given a lesser room which I left alone in order not to ruin it for my child by arguing. Then they hit me with the most ridicules thing I ever heard which was the charge of $ 20.00 for parking whoever heard of going to a hotel, motel or resort and pay for parking after paying for a room. Lastly the icing on the cake the front desk where the employees seemed to be lost charged my card an extra $330.00 for what I am not sure other than we made a mistake and now three days later I am still waiting to get it off my card statement. SAY NO TO THE NOT-SO-GREAT WOLF LODGE, MAYBE THE NAME SHOULD BE CHANGED TO " GREAT HYENA LODGE"! read more

Love this place!!!!! This hotel is made for kids and kids at heart. Let's start with the staff. They are awesome and totally professional. The pool area is clean and the water is blue not like The other hotels that are green. The slides are great and have a lot of them to kids of all ages can enjoy. The food there was ok sorry. I loved how the kids can meet the mascots and they have FREE entertainment for the littles. I would recommend and I just booked for this summer. Oh and but the wolf passes totally worth it! read more

We have been to Great Wolf Lodge 3 times: Christmas break, Spring break, and for the summer. Of the 3 waterparks in the Wisconsin Dells area, this is the smallest....which is perfect for kids 3 years old and under. If you have little ones and you do not want to travel too far between different areas of the waterpark, the Great Wolf Lodge is perfect for you. The good part of GWL: 1) Small enough for kids 3 yrs old and below. 2) Has fun activities at the lobby (dancing, crafts, etc.) There are several "needs for improvement" with the GWL: 1) Parts of the waterpark need to be maintained. I saw some concrete crumbling by one of the slides in the waterpark and some areas that are rusty. These need to be fixed. 2) Their changing area/bathrooms/showers need to be cleaned. The one by the wave pool was so dirty. The shampoo/soap dispensers were empty, and hair/garbage were on the floor. 3) They have a poor refund policy. If you read the fine print, it says that even if you cancel your room reservation within the timeline stipulated, it could take them 1 year to return your deposit! That is so ridiculous! For that reason alone, I stopped making reservations at GWL. We now use the Wilderness Resort which is bigger and has more entertainment, has comparable costs, but has a better refund policy. (Do not go to Kalahari. They have poor customer service, especially in their waterpark area, and are stingy with towels. They will also be under construction until Summer 2024. YOu may not be able to have access to all parts of the waterpark.) read more

We reserved a 3 bedroom suite for a one night stay starting Memorial Day. I called ahead to let them know that we would be arriving at 2pm and could we check in early because my husband tore his ACL and is in a leg brace and crutches. They said that we could. We arrived at 2, and my husband was told that our room was clean but awaiting inspection and that it would be "a few minutes". An hour went by, he checked back twice while our party sat on the only available surface in the hotel-a stone fireplace hearth. My husbands leg was starting to swell and in the sweltering 90 degree heat the lobby was not air conditioned. I finally went up and asked for a manager. A young man who looked to not be a day over 18 came out and told us that we should not have been told that it would be ready for us until 4. I told him that we called ahead for early check in. He said we ALSO should not have been told that. He said that it was a 4 step process of some kind. I asked him if we could forego the inspection and just call if there was an issue. He refused. The restaurant and bar was closed, and there were no places for anyone with mobility issues to sit. We couldn't find anyone on the staff who appeared to be out of high school or understanding the ADA Act. I cannot recommend more that anyone looking for a fun weekend in the Dells choose the neighboring Kalahari instead where we had the exact opposite experience. We had to leave to go to a neighboring restaurant to sit and within 5 minutes a room was magically inspected. When we went back, they put us in a room as far from the elevator as possible with a view of the expressway and a noise level that made sleep or relaxation impossible. On any given weekend this might be necessary, but this was not a weekend and we passed at least 8 better room empty and propped open on our way assisting my husband to the room. The smell in the hall was of old body odor. To round out the night, we went to the hotel bar to get a last drink. There were 5 of us. 3 of the drinks were so wrong I have no idea what happened. We told the "bartender" they were wrong and he couldn't understand us for several minutes (the drinks were a non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri - on the menu, and a manhattan). We finally gave up and had no drinks. He never checked back and had to be hunted down to pay. While a toddler race was happening in the lobby late into the night. It truly was like the twilight zone. I understand that worker shortages are presenting challenges but they should consider just closing until they sort themselves out. read more

Took my family of 6 here for a long weekend. Ages varying from 9 to 16 for the children. The park is geared towards younger kids. I was hoping this location would have had a lot of amenities like their Bloomington mn location but they did not. The park had a separate magic quest that was attached to the location. The kids loved magic quest which made up for some of the lack of amenities. Their build a bear location was a tiny corner of their gift shop. They didn't have a Dunkin' Donuts on site like their other location which was disappointing. The room itself was pleasant. We rented the black bear condo, it was spacious and clean. The tv in the main room was in need of some love as the connection wasn't great. The water park felt cramped but was a lot of fun. The lazy river was tiny and kind of pathetic. We had fun overall, but would try a different resort next time. read more

To Whom It May Concern, We stayed at the Wisconsin Dells location 6/18/2022-6/21/2022 . We have never been so disappointed with a Great Wolf Lodge. I, myself have been going to GWL since I was a child, at the Wisconsin Dells. Now that I have children of my own we have carried on this tradition and have stayed at GWL numerous times at the Anaheim, CA and Grapevine, TX locations. We have always had exceptional experiences with both locations. There are many reasons for why we choose GWL when traveling: We love that it's a hotel that is centered around kids and their families. The convenience of having multiple different dining options, activities to do with the kids other than just the water park. We enjoy being able to stay there and essentially have everything we need without having to leave. After numerous stays at the other 2 locations, we have come to expect a few things. For one, we have always had exceptional customer service throughout the lodge. Whether it's hotel registration, waitresses/waiters, housekeeping, store associates etc they are always friendly and eager to put a smile on your kids face. But unfortunately, that was not the case at the Wisconsin Dells Location. The gentleman that checked us in, seemed annoyed and inconvenienced by my questions and did not thoroughly explain the charges for my room. When passing through the halls or having any interaction with lounge staff, the majority seemed to be displeased, and you weren't greeted with a smile. This is extremely disappointing when you have young kids that are excited, employees should be welcoming and charismatic. One of the other main reasons we enjoy GWL is the food! There are usually various dining options, and one of the places we love to eat while staying there is the restaurant that offers buffet for breakfast and dinner. Normally, the buffets offer numerous options, which is perfect for when you have picky toddlers. There's something for everybody! And not to mention, the quality of the food is great, and that is saying a lot considering we are from Las Vegas where there are buffets just about every where. The Wisconsin location doesn't even offer a self-serve buffet and their "buffet" selections are limited and not to mention the food was not very good either. Our only option was to eat at Hungry As A Wolf during our stay. Pizza and wings get old really fast. Our next complaint is the hotel room itself and overall appearance of the lodge. Our room had not been properly cleaned. The floor was sticky, there were dark marks on the walls from previous guest's feet, I found a hair tie on the floor in plain site as soon as entering the room. The elevators were dirty and missing several lights in the elevator itself. The entire lodge other than the water park looks like it is outdated and in desperate need of renovations. The area by hotel registration, in the main lobby where activities for the kids are supposed to occur, is extremely small especially for how large the hotel itself is and how many guests can be there at any given time. Overall, our stay here was absolutely terrible and we do not plan on returning to this location. I will say, that the water park was nice. Everything was open and functioning as it should. It has a big layout including and outdoor area, with multiple different slides and attractions to keep kids of any age entertained. We chose to stay at this GWL location site unseen for an extra night upon arriving, because we had got there later than anticipated. I wish we had checked in first and had time to look around before making that decision because we would have not booked that extra night. There are plenty of other hotels/water parks nearby to choose from. We definitely plan on visiting other Great Wolf Lodge locations but we will not be returning to this one. read more
