Stay at the Wilderness or Kalahari - don't stay here! Check in was fine but isn't until 4pm, you're allowed to go the water park at 1pm. Room was a bit dirty and lacking - sink didn't drain. shower didn't drain, no bedding for the sofa bed. Minimal slides in the waterpark, one tiny adult hot tub and the whole park closes at 8pm! Also only one small bathroom for the entire waterpark and they are not well maintained. Food is also lacking, minimal choices which was average at best, though the kids liked it. Arcade is small and ridiculously overpriced. Overall for the cost, underwhelming and not worth it - Wilderness will get my money next time. read more

Starting to show age. Rooms could be updated. Flat areas to place items limited with television screwed to dresser top and microwave on small counter. Pillows below average, mattress well worn, linens average. Smoke free property must mean buildings because people are smoking outside all over. There was even a butt disposal receptacle. Roomed on the first floor the people on the second floor sounded like elephants running around at all hours of the day. The staff relied too much on the app for answering questions or giving directions. "It's all in the app." No paper info. The app does not tell you where the ice machine is or simply when check out is. Not all employees speak English as their first language. They are unable to answer these simple questions or other questions about the waterpark. Which rides are open now, when do the other rides open? How long does the wave pool operate before timing out? What happens if the guest doesn't want to download and navigate another app for their brief stay. The restaurant employee could not navigate the app to order my food when give my phone. His excuse was it is still in testing mode. Waterpark is great for elementary age and older children. Lifeguards attentive. Water and room temperature appropriate. Water clarity slightly cloudy. Always felt children were safe and enjoying their experience. Good Value at the present time. Would like to see improvements to the property to maintain value. read more

This comfortable and family-friendly resort and waterpark earns a solid four stars. Our family members (mom and three tween/teen boys) had a pleasant mid-week stay for a mini-reunion with out of state family members. ROOMS: Our first-floor room (same level as waterpark), a 2-Queen + sleeper sofa room, has a patio door opening to a grassy area and was very comfortable. The bathroom (toilet/shower) area is small, and the sink vanity is in the main room area. The beds are comfortable. Sofa sleeper, not as much, but comfortable enough for kids. There is a kitchen area with microwave and mini fridge that was useful for sodas, and leftovers. We chose to get coffee, breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts from the snack shop off the lobby. Overall the rooms are fine, clean, comfortable and have nice decor. The rooms were quiet and everyone got two good nights' sleep -- and the teens slept in! WATERPARK: I want to give a big shout out to the Great Wolf Lodge's lifeguarding and pool staff. They were active and attentive, and everywhere in the waterpark. They looked like a well-organized and well-prepared team, and I appreciate that so much. Yes, we heard a lot of short whistle bursts, which is good evidence of the attentive and careful work of the waterpark staff. The kids enjoyed the big wave pool and many of the slides. There is enough to do here and pools for all ages. Towel service was very good and easy to use. We were here for two nights, if we came for longer the kids would likely want to explore more of the other Dells attractions. Side note: Do not buy goggles here. I purchased a pair that broke while fitting. Bring your own goggles. CHECK-IN: My only complaint about the Great Wolf Lodge was our check-in experience. We arrived around 1 p.m., and I did a pre-check in at the desk. I was given two of each of two different kinds of wristbands for our party, but it was not made clear, or perhaps I didn't understand that some wristbands have room keys, and other wristbands don't. I had no idea that the wristbands had embedded room keys, so we were confused and went back to the desk later to ask for room keys. I was also told at check-in that we would get a text when our room was ready. We received no text and so went back to the desk after 4 p.m. to figure out how the keys worked and get our room number. This made for some stress on our arrival day. Overall though, a fine stay at the waterpark and we have had a very nice trip. We have been to the Wilderness, Kalahari and Great Wolf and I like the Great Wolf and would return again. Look for promotions when you sign up and beware that the resort fees will add to your total costs at reservation. P.S. Everyone was given wolf ear headbands at check-in -- it was a cute surprise (only one child wore them). read more

I took it upon myself to tell the front desk and Nicole was so helpful and listening to my complaint. Definately deserved an edit and an extra star. If you have a problem here, dont hesitate to tell the staff so they can work it out and help you have a fab vacation! Okay, so for those of you wanting to entertain the kids for a couple of days and don't mind small inconveniences that a family place comes with then you are golden with this 3 star (meh) review. I know there are probably plenty of people that have probably come here and had no issues, unfortunately I was not one of them... For people and courtesy I'd give it a 4 star - it takes a LOT and I mean a LOT of self control and fake smiles to probably get through their day. A few star performers had to be Brandon at the front desk who helped me get through a check in disaster (I had requested in advance a handicap accessible room and they did not provide me even after calling when we were headed there) he was super and very calm. Narendar over in the water park section who helped out with my crazy orders while I was dealing with all my kids running around. And finally to the Magi Quest guys who helped out my two wand issues! Now issues: we got the 2 beds and a pull out couch - the pull out couch really looks like a playground for kids that have jumped on it over 1 million times. The feet part literally is higher than the head and every movement sounded like someone was squeaking an old tire over and over again. We had to eventually pull out the couch, take the matress out of the couch and lay it on the floor. It helped and for the kids went pretty okay. Unfortunately it also looked like the sheets hadn't been changed in probably a couple of room changes - the matress protection sheet was old and ripped and the sheet that they gave us had a yellow stain on it (in their defence could have been candy but who takes that chance!) Soo that was an immediate 1 star deduction. It's just unforgivable. Now when I asked for new sheets there was no apologies no problem solving and no real attention to the fact that I had just been given a sheet with a yellow stain. That put me off and then the housekeeping just threw a plastic bag with the new matress protection and the sheets and didnt even offer to remove the old sheets...I had to change them, which for me was strange as I really wasn't okay with changing blankets that hadn't been washed. With the exception of those two (kinda major) issues, the 1st night went well. Food wise is pretty good and not horribly over priced. For a resort you are probably paying only about 1-2 dollars over the what you would be paying in a restaurant outside so if you have the money, might as well spend it. I just wish my sheet issue was addressed and I may bring it up as we prepare to check out. If that area was resolved I'd probably give it at least a half star or 1 more star as for what it is, a family resort waterpark, it's definately pretty good! read more

As a mid-winter family waterpark getaway, it's hard to get much better than Great Wolf Lodge. Lots of stuff for kids to do. Food that's not terribly overpriced. A helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are available at a variety of levels, from standard two-bed hotel rooms all the way up to condominium style apartments with kitchens. But of course the real selling point is the indoor waterpark -- and it sure doesn't disappoint. There are waterslides at a couple levels of intensities. Our five year old was able to ride on all but one slide -- the Tornado, which is pretty intense. Most slides are fast and fun, and most of the fastest are available for kids 42" and taller. The waterparks are kept pretty warm and, even as the temps outside hovered around zero, the water in the pools and slides was pretty comfortable. Your wristband also serves as your room key, and any purchases can be charged through an RFID chip in the wristband to your room. Food options range from hot dogs and fries to ice cream and cupcakes all the way up to grilled steaks (in the sit-down restaurant). As an added bonus, kids can play MagicQuest, an interactive game in which the kids battle trolls and dragons and solve riddles while wandering through a large house. The wand needed to play the game costs between $10 and $20, with add-ons available that increase your odds of winning your battles. Once you have your wand, the game itself costs about $15. But most younger kids have fun just interacting with things at random with the wand, which you can do for just the cost of activation. An unpleasant experience from the minute we stepped foot inside. First, the wait to check in was out the door, and there was nowhere to park. Once we did get checked-in, the first step out of the elevator we were hit with a terrible odor, as if we had walked into the trash room. Then our room smelled absolutely terrible, so we had to open the patio door for a couple of hours (in winter) to air it out to make it bearable. If you want to go stay somewhere else, they won't refund the room, so we were stuck there. The waterpark was so crowded (middle of the week on a school night) that we didn't even bother to do anything and left. The hotel itself is about as cheaply made as possible, and everything was falling apart. All of the furniture in our room was falling apart. There were holes in the bathroom door. Seriously miserable from start to finish. We couldn't wait to leave. At the price they charged, we expected the hotel to be nice, and it was a total dive. read more

Water park is nice and well maintained. Check-in was quick. They stopped us on the way into the park to make sure we didn't have any outside food or beverages. Nbd our package had some credits. We tried to order via the app and the were out of chicken tenders for the kiddo. App would never let me place the order so wasted 10 mins ordering and waiting for a spinning wheel on the submit button. Ordered from the kiosk at the cafe. Complex and everyone had to ask how to check out with their wrist band. Order number wasn't the three digits on the bottom of our ticket but the last three digits hiding in a much longer number up above. Waited 5 mins after my order was ready before I figured it out. Soda cups have a QR code. Everyone needed a staff member to train them how to use the machine. Some had to go wait in line to get a new QR code. The machine with a working scanner didn't have working ice but don't wait too long because you only get 12 seconds to fill your cup. Thankfully I was fast and already had ice. The machine dispensed exactly 8 oz filling my kids cup 2/3 full. I guess there are no complete fills or refills! The food was good and fresh but my loaded fries were soggy by the time I went back for the missing items and navigated the soda machines. read more

The only fun thing about this great wolf lodge is the waterpark. We checked in and got our room, but when we got there we were disappointed. The room was not properly cleaned, the room smelled like sweat and dirty clothes. But the worst part about the room was we did not get what we payed for, we booked a room with three beds and two bathrooms but we got two beds and one bathroom which is NOT what we payed for. We told the staff about the situation and they were able to get us another room. They said it would only take a few minutes so we headed to the car. And after ONE hour we were able to check in. Fortunately the cleaners did an outstanding job on the room, and I'm grateful for that. If you want to go to a really cool Great Wolf Lodge go to the one in Chicago Gurney Illinois. read more

Took a little, mid week, adventure as summer is coming to an end. Soon the kids will be back in school and some teacher will ask for that paper, "What Did You Do All Summer?". I don't have water slides and spraying fountains in my yard so, after doing a little research, Great Wolf sounded like a great place to be. We drove up from Milwaukee, found the place easily (from the freeway), and checked in. There was no issue there except the young girl's lack on the English language... which I found to be the case in a few other situations. Anyway, at the desk they gave everybody these fuzzy wolf ears, kind of cool. It was my cousin's 45th birthday, I had to make sure he got some that advertised that fact!! There were six of us and, after walking the dingy worn pathways, found our room. The room, on the surface, was nice enough for a theme room... although it did make me think of those places designed for adults... there were 2 full size beds, a pull out sofa and a lofted area with a bed. The loft, basically, was a small hotel room. TV, sink, bathroom, no windows, just a skylight to heat the space but nowhere to release it. This is where the little things started to become noticeable. My loft was supposed to have a full bath but it was only a closet with a toilet inside. I decided not to say anything because now I'm battling with this and two small children who want to be in water! I've seen other reviews about the temperature of the inside waterpark area and have to agree with those others. It is STIFLING. Now this wouldn't be so bad but, of course, there's the overwhelming intrusion of CHEMICALS in the air!! I can't say with complete surety that there are no warnings but, I personally would recommend persons with disabilities: I.e.: respiratory illnesses, stay away unless they've checked it out personally and then use good judgement. Maybe this is just me... but there were children, and adults, walking in the hallways, playing in the water, patronizing the restaurant BAREFOOT! Is this the resort's problem to enforce? Or the result of neglectful parents? Back to the room, however, All three beds were extremely uncomfortable. When you pulled back the covering, you found a contraption that very much resembles the "mattress topper" that the 'my pillow' pushes on TV. The pull out sofa/bed's metal mechanical parts were difficult to full out and then were bent to the point the bed was unusable. Air circulation was awful, the only opening was the balcony door which is lacking a screen. One of the TVs didn't work. The sheets were a mess, though not blood, which I have to attribute to the continuous language barrier. Would I go back to Great Wolf Lodge? I suppose. It was reasonably priced and, overall, the kids had fun and so did we! read more

Be prepared to spend some money here but it's well worth it. It was our first time but we will be back. The only Negative was everything is cashless and the room keys were all our bracelets. It was difficult with Our older kids we constantly have to walk them back to the room. That would be my Only complaint. read more

My family and I have been coming here for over five years. In the beginning it was an amazing experience. They had fair prices, clean rooms, great staff and tons of activities to do with the kids. Over the years the prices have significantly increased and the property has significantly declined in its up keep and cleanliness. We just left the lodge and it was not a good experience, as a matter of fact we moved to the Wilderness Lodge which was great for our last day in the Dells. Great Wolf Lodge property was dirty, Magic Quest closed all the slides and rope bridges, but didn't reduce their prices to play. The lodge now offers so much less and charges so much more. What a disappointment. In addition, there were lodge guests singing and dancing in the hall at midnight. So much for the "hours of hibernation " . So sad. To be fair Willow, their text assistant was very prompt and helpful. If you want a to stay at a clean and well maintained property at a good value, don't stay here. Stayed at The Great Wolf Lodge in Wis Dells with a toddler and we had a great time! They take Covid precautions very serious and every staff member had on masks. They are very conscientious of social distancing as well. Based off previous reviews-Is the TV in the room small? Yeah maybe, but how much TV are you really watching while your here? Is it dated? I guess but how modern can you be when your entire theme is based on forest animals? We went during the week it wasn't crowded, check in & check out was super easy. They encourage you to use their text/chat if you have any issues or questions and they promptly answer. We were also able to check out using this option. I saw many life guards and they were all extremely attentive and really keeping an eye out. Every employee we encountered was beyond nice. Confused this place with Wilderness Resort (right up the road) and did a overnight trip with the two kids (7 and 9). Have been to former Key Lime Cove and Wilderness Resort previously. In terms of accommodations, rooms were 2 stars. Accommodation was dark and felt a little dated. I got the Queen deluxe suite so an upgrade may have resulted in a much better room. Luckily kids spent most of the time at the waterpark which were up there with Key Lime and Wilderness. Geared toward younger kids. read more

We enjoyed our recent stay despite the pandemic. It is impossible to socially distance inside the waterpark, but in all public areas of the hotel, there are proper markings, and signs, and staff wear face masks. Sit down dining at their restaurant, the Lodge Wood Fired Grill is accommodated, and it's easy to order off the app for pick up to take to your room. The hotel's location is central - close to an arcade place called Knuckleheads, numerous restaurants, gas stations, and the outlet. Staff were friendly and accommodating. read more

First trip to the Dells, and stayed at GW one night while driving to Chicago. Our kids (5 & 11) throughly enjoyed the water park and the lodge theme. Lifeguards seemed to be on top of things, although they overlooked an older gentleman having obvious difficulties in the wave pool. Room was ok. We got the double queen sofa suite, which is MUCH smaller than their on- line pics made it out to appear. One bed had sheets, but no comforter. Took about 20 minutes for them to bring one after we called. The sofa sleeper had sheets on it, but no available pillows. The refrigerator was a nice touch, but had some full water cups in it from previous occupants. Kleenex box was empty, and we had to flag down housekeeping in the hallway to get a new box. Didn't appreciate the up-sell when we made phone reservations. They kept trying to add breakfast onto the room, and insisted that it was a special available only at time of reservation. Well, at $9 per person, we thought it wasn't that special, and it turns out, it's the everyday price! Be careful of what they charge, and be aware of the added "resort fee". When trying to reconcile the bill at checkout, there were charges that the staff didn't understand and took an extra 10 minutes to figure out. Would go back because the kids had fun. Alright. Great Wolf Lodge is my shining star when it comes to places to stay in the Dells. Here is the thing. It IS expensive and I stay away during peak season. My reasoning is there is enough going on outdoors during our short summer season that there is no benefit to spending the peak season cash and braving the crowds to be at in indoor waterpark. With that said, we have the advantage of being close enough to go during the off season. We stayed here for my birthday in early May last year, while the rates were lower. If you can go in on a condo or villa with another family, you are going to be pleased. Speaking from an off-season perspective, when the outdoor attractions are still closed, this place is awesome! There are not a ton of people and there is PLENTY to do on the Great Wolf campus. And the price is a more reasonable. We paid for the Breakfast Package which was worth it! The breakfast buffet has a fair variety and the food is good. The indoor waterpark is very large and has the good ol' "toliet bowl" ride, which is worth a...spin? In addition to the waterpark, there is a large arcade and WizardQuest, which we did not manage to get to. There is a nice gift shop with a Build a Bear-esque station that has the usual prices. In the main lobby, kid-friendly events are hosted and some of them are for free! At check in, the kids get a set of fuzzy wolf ears and my son completely dug it. Lol. Check in is at 3 or 4pm and we had arrived early. The front desk rep let us know that not only was our room ready, but we were welcome to get checked in! Score! I like the lodge look of the place! We had a two story condo with just one bathroom, but there is a version with two bathrooms. There was a refrigerator, fireplace, patio, two queen beds and a pullout sofa downstairs, plus a king bed, sink/vanity and television in the loft. The loft is high up and enclosed enough that you have privacy to get changed. My mom and son took the downstairs beds and my husband and I were in the loft! It was clean and comfortable, plus without a lot of guests during that time of year, it was nice and quiet. If you can make it here during the off season, you can make the most of the price you pay and not feel pressured to go to all of the other summer attractions in the Dells because they are CLOSED. Lol. If you do visit in the off season and want to wander around, Tanger outlet mall essentially shares Great Wolf's parking lot. There is a movie theatre across the road and plenty of nearby restaurants. And there is a shuttle to Ho-Chunk casino if that is your bag. Also, sign up for the emails. They advertise deals that you will not want to miss out on! And being in the warm indoor park when it is 22 degrees outside is...awesome! read more

Due to "staffing," half the slides/attractions were closed and on a rotation. That meant more people on one slide, and 20+ people and kids in the hot tub at one time. It made social distancing very hard and wait times longer. Wifi in the room didn't work. Shower didn't stay hot or warm in the room. Overall, very underwhelming for the price. There are other options in the Dells that we will consider next time. read more

Great Wolf Lodge is one of our favorite places to go in Wisconsin Dells. We've been once for our son's birthday and he loved it. Before we used to go to The Kalahari but we couldn't get a room on the dates we were looking for so we booked here. In general I've noticed GWL prices are lower than Kalahari with the same general quality. We got a really nice 2 bedroom suite which was plenty of room for 6 adults and 1 child. We really liked the all the rides and different areas for kids. This is a nice place for adults too. We all liked the tornado slide and the big mat slide. They have a nice game room too that our son enjoyed as well. We are going back in a few weeks and I'm excited for our son to try some new rides; he was a little hesitate on some of the double tube rides last time. This is definitely geared towards kids but adults can still have fun. read more

My family has been to many great Wolf Lodges around the country. This is this is the first time at this location in the Dells. To say the least this did not impress me in anyway shape or form compared to the other Great Wolf Lodge locations. Our room while very spacious was dirty and in need of repair. We found a dirty towel left over from I assume the prior tenant hanging in the bathroom along with food and crackers in the bed. In the refrigerator, there was someone's left over I assume snack still inside(icky)..... The air conditioning did not work very well and I assume they already are aware of this done someone left a note on the thermostats saying so.......LOL For being what we thought would have been a flagship water park for the Great Wolf Lodge chain, we were very disappointed. Other Great Wolf locations we have visited have been so much better both in service, food and facilities that maybe we have just become spoiled by the atmosphere that they project. On the positive aspect of things the magic quest adventure is much better than other great Wolf Lodge locations and the lifeguards have always been top notch but if you're looking for a family friendly environment I would not recommend the Dells location instead consider other locations such as Traverse City Michigan or Sandusky Ohio. The staff and facilities there are so much better. We like the Great Wolf brand and will continue to go to the two we have fell in love with in Sandusky and Travers City. I don't see us returning to this location anytime soon. read more

We're all exhausted. But that's a good thing! As Madison-area residents, we use the Dells area for quick getaways. We know that one night there will give us our fill. For Spring Break this year we decided to take the boys to Great Wolf Lodge. The Spring Break rates aren't the best, but GWL had a decent rate on nice room after my corporate discount. :) Check-in is at 4pm, but you can show up and start using the waterpark at 1pm. We arrived around 1:30 and waited in a short check-in line for our turn. As it was, our room was ready - big bonus! Check-in was a breeze, no more than a couple minutes. We got our stuff to the room and were in the waterpark very quickly. THE ROOM: Very nice. We had 2 queens and a sofa sleeper. It included our own little balcony. The room was clean and spacious. That's all we can ask for. The beds were okay - better than average for hotels, I'd say. THE RESORT: Customer service was top notch! Everyone we saw, from lifeguards to front desk to housekeepers - they were all cheerful, giving you a crisp "good morning!" and a smile. They have nice activities geared towards younger guests. In the lobby at 8pm there's "story time". At 8:30pm there's a DJ's "dance party". None of that interested my older boys. If you have younger kids, pay attention as there's even more to do. THE WATERPARK: It was clean and well run. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but it was good. It resides in three sections - like three buildings that are connected, though it hardly feels like it (flows nicely). We spent most of our time by the wave pool area, which included two tube slides and 4 mat-racer slides. Another area housed the "Howlin' Tornado", which was clearly the best ride there, especially at night! For all the slides, you have to haul your own tube/mat up to the top, which is fine, except for the Tornado. The four-person tube is heavy and cumbersome. While I could manage it with my older son's help, I did see three younger kids struggling all the way up. Larger waterparks utilize a conveyor system for those types of rides. As an adult, I was entertained for our one-night stay (two days at the waterpark). Any longer and I think I would have gotten bored with their offerings. I think the park is great for kids - the younger the better. My teenager and I were pining for more "thrills" - stuff you find at places like Kalahari and Wilderness. Also, my wife enjoys a good Lazy River. I never noticed it until my wife pointed it out - it was a short loop near the end of one tube ride. Hardly worth doing. The wave pool was smallish, and no tubes are allowed in it - a bit of a bummer. SUMMARY: This is a very good place to stay. They are tuned into the customer and their experience. I just wish the waterpark was more "big boy" than "younger kids". read more

Visiting from California with my grandkids, daughter and son in law. We paid for breakfast during our stay. Which was wonderful. It was served family style. We had potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, coffee, juice. Its all you can eat. Definitely worth the price. We stayed in a room with a loft and 2 full beds and a pull out couch which was perfect for 7 people. It was very comfortable, including the beds. The waterslides were amazing. Everyone had a great time. All the free extras like story time,yoga and dance party were an extra bonus we didn't expect. The staff was very accommodating and filled our needs in a very timely manner. Everything is very clean,you see staff cleaning regularly. I highly recommend staying here. Welp, we've been here for 2.5 hours and their crappy service here has already managed to try to ruin the weekend. We arrived at 2 pm to check in, arrived, checked in and wandered around until 4pm, the declared check in time. At that point, we were told someone was checking on the room. We went and got our things and went back in the lobby to wait. 4:30 rolls around and we go back to the desk to be told we STILL do not have a room. HOW? How after 2.5 hours, how do you STILL not have a room prepared for us? Check out is scheduled at 11, seriously? This all felt really discriminatory too. We sat in the lobby and watched families arrive, check in and get their rooms immediately. We don't have children at this point and arrived as a childless couple to basically be put at the VERY back of the line. We had that it was my birthday listed on the reservation to receive a halfhearted "happy birthday" directed at us and basically shuffled on to the next family. We went for the Columbus Day holiday and loved it here! There was so much to do for our 10 year old! She loved MagiQuest and the slides were just right for her size. There were several slides for smaller children and they had lots of activities planned for the little ones also. The arcade was big fun and she had plenty to choose from in the redemption shop. Lots of food and drink spots. We really liked the pizza and it was reasonably priced. The rooms were spacious and complete with a fridge and microwave. Next time we will bring drinks to keep in the room for convenience. Starbucks and Dippin Dots were on the premises as well. Lots of nice perks and the staff was really helpful and friendly!!! We will be back!! Outlet mall just across the parking lot for added convenience!!! read more

I'm glad I read the reviews after our trip. I will say maybe the issues people had in the past have been resolved or were in a different area of the hotel. Our room was huge, spacious and clean. The bed was comfy and the den with the bunk beds is adorable. I loved the fire place- laying wet swim suits on the stone in front of the fire place dried them within an hour. The staff was great, the water park was fun, the main restaurant super yummy, although overpriced. I don't recommend the package that includes the breakfast, the breakfast was not good, it is brought out on a tray and the service was not good for that. My favorite detail? The towels at the water park are warm. Such a kitschy weekend. read more

My wife and I decided to try this resort in May 2019. We are retired, disabled seniors. While paying we were quoted a price plus taxes and fees. They did not explain to us they chargee us a mandatory water park fee of $30.00 until we checked out. At our age there is no way we would use any of the water park attractions with all the screaming kids. We had dinner and a drink. The two rail drinks were $20 + tip. Dinner later was meh. Then retired to our room. We will not stay here again. Not recommended for adults traveling alone that do not want to pay for a water park setting you will not use. That is a ripoff. If the resort changes this policy to optional I would change my recommendation. Management can contact me if they want. read more

This is our second visit to this resort in the last year and a half. We find that for the price and amenities this is an excellent place for our family to vacation. The water park has long hours 9-9 so you get a lot of water time for your money. All day they have activities for children in the grand lobby, we participated in the clock tower story, yoga and the dance party. My daughter loved it and it was a great break from time in the water. Water park is clean and the life guards are very attentive. I felt safe at all times in the water. We stayed in a queen suite. It was plenty for room for a family of three and our room was clean and free of bed bugs. No complaints about the house keeping staff. We also used the hungry like a wolf/bear paw facility. Order your pizza and it's ready in about a half hour. You can go pick it up or for 18% they will deliver directly to your room. Bear Paw is in the same space and offers ice cream and fudge. They also have a coke free style machine to refill your souvenir cup. $14 for unlimited refills. It ended up being a good choice for us to refill and you get quite thirsty with the water park being quite warm and all the swimming. Everything in Bear Paw and Hungry like a Wolf can be put on your room if you aren't caring your card or cash. Nice since it is a water park and people are walking around in swim suits. No pockets for your coin. I also used the Elements spa and received a 30 mi. Facial service. The employees at the salon were friendly and inviting and my service was relaxing and rejuvenating. I would definitely get another service when we come back up. We did the sprinkled service for my daughter in the scoops kids salon. She received a tiara, hair scent, sash, strawberry lip gloss on her lips not to keep the whole tube and a coupon for a scoop of ice cream to redeem at the bear paw. She felt so special it was a great experience. Since you can stay the day of check out we just loaded up the car early and kept a bad to the side with a change of clothes and used the locker room to change when we were ready to go home. As long as you aren't shy I recommend using that option instead of paying for the late check out. It's community shower and community change room so just expect for little to no privacy. They do have bathroom stalls with doors so you could always change in there as an option. Husband and daughter used the arcade. It's a little pricy but they had fun and it was again a great little break from the water and gave me some time to go to the spa and not worry about them being occupied . Is this the newest most up to date resort? No. Is is very family friendly with lots of activities and options so you can stay on site and not worry about have to plan a bunch of excursions. Yes. We are all ready planning a trip back for February for my birthday. Both times we have enjoyed our visit to the GWL and look forward to future visits. read more

As far as Covid procedures I think the hotel is doing a pretty good job. The follow through from staff on addressing a huge party above our room is why the low score. It has been hours of screaming and jumping above our room and the front desk is failing on making this party be quieter. It sounds like the ceiling might crack the kids are jumping so much until 1 am and later last night and louder tonight. Jerome is the manager at the front desk that guaranteed security would be to their room over 1.5 hours ago. With a baby here this will make us not return on future trips. read more

If you read the FAQ it says chech in is at 4 or as rooms become available. Be prepared to wait.we pre checked in hoping the room would be available we went back and forth to the desk multiple times to see if the room was ready. By 5:30 pm it still wasn't ready and we were not the only family or group left waiting. You could even hear the staff complaining. We routinely come to the Dells to spend time with family and friends. We thought we would try something different than Kalahari and are beyond disappointed. Water park doesnt open until 10a.m and closes at 8p.m... but kids dance party goes from 9-10p.m.... id have to say that everything is targeted towards their revenue... after 8p.m water park closes but arcade is open 24/7. Then they loop ya to the gift shop which is right where the dance party is, conveniently bringing your tired toddler right into their brightly lite over priced gift shop... resturant is terrible and food at the pool sucks!!! Our room for 5days, 4nights is 3000$ and everything is paperless so you are just constantly racking charges on a bracelet... im guessing this trip will cost me 4-5k and that is severely disapointing!!! I am currently trying to keep 3 kids entertained until the water park opens in 2 more hrs.. everything about the rooms are out dated. Customer service is foreign kids that have learned to no care at all... 2yrs ago the cabana at the pool was 100$. I went to reserve the cabana where i was told 279.... but by the time we were at check out it was 359 hahaha! What a f***in joke this place is... she then tried to tell me that the rate changes daily.. i laughed and told her to forget it... this whole place is so disappointing compared to what i remember even just a few yrs ago let alone when i use to come here as a kid. We arrived at 3:30 to check-in, but our reservation was not showing up anywhere in their system. After 10 minutes searching under all of our names and going back through past reservations, it was declared that there was an error online when we had originally booked the double queen suite two months prior. Kassandra was extremely helpful and offered us a new room, which happened to be a condo because that was the only thing available. What was even better was that she willingly honored the original price of the suite we had intended to stay in because we had a screenshot of the missing reservation. She quickly had the room cleaned for us and we were settled in by 4:15. Also, we were having difficulty navigating through the facility and Cathy was very nice about showing us around and telling us about the activities offered. read more

We have stopped here for the last 3 years on our way to Minnesota over thanksgiving break and we love it! It's so much fun, the water park is huge and that time of year it's not very crowded at all. They have the cutest story time each night at the clock tower. Everyone comes in their PJs and sits by the big fire, it's so cozy. The rooms are good size,clean, and they have a great log cabin feel. This was a nice quick getaway for my kids. I didn't expect the water park area to be as big as it was. My kids have really enjoyed themselves. The beds aren't too comfortable, but the kid cabin is pretty spacious for a family of 5. My stay was good until the last day. Visited build a bear in the resort and EDEN was absolutely MEAN. She was very mean to my daughter and told her not to get close. When treating children mean that draws the line. I'll never come again just based on how poorly my child was treated. First build a bear experience should always be pleasant. She didn't talk to my son who was getting a bear made. She was very rude. It took for us to ask for help. She stared at us and never acknowledged us. Everything doesn't always have to be about race but what else am i to expect. read more

We are regulars to GWL - Dells and this was by far the WORST experience we've had with this waterpark. I know there are staffing shortages EVERYWHERE, but when we called to see if our room was ready all i got was the run around. No one would answer my questions and I could barely understand the employees I had contact with throughout the water park. We had EXTREMELY noisy neighbors next to us and above us. I understand this is more geared toward younger children but you know the ages of all guests when rooms are reserved. Why doesn't the hotel group according to ages when able too. We reached out about the noise but nothing was done. We also weren't there at PEAK season so I'm certain there are many rooms that were empty. Overall very very disappointed with all the money you pay for this place. read more
