Amazing water park really comfortable beds but one downfall everything is expensive 1200 for 2 nights

We've never been to a Great Wolf Lodge so I have nothing to compare this Lodge to. We stayed 4 nights and received an awesome deal on our rate. If we had to pay the normal nightly rate I would have given this place less stars. The common areas of the hotel are very well kept. Housekeeping is continuously going through which is great. It seems heavenly as soon as you come off the elevators or into the lobby. Entertainment staff are so friendly and engaging especially with little ones. Front desk is hit or miss. They seem to be the punching bags of guest so it's understandable why they're not radiating rainbows and sunshine. The rooms are mediocre. We had the themed family suite with the bunkbeds. The carpet is very dingy and needs a deep cleaning. Much of the room may seem dirty but it's just old. Rumors are true, you only get flat sheets. No blankets except on the bunk beds. Then you get the old itchy wool blankets from camp. Literally. The water park area was well kept during our stay. Unfortunately several rides broke down including the Fort area for small kids. The lifeguards were always on top of their duties and constantly monitoring the areas. The male lifeguard with the white crocs and black skulls did a great job telling swimmers when the waves were coming. I appreciated that. Overall this place is fun if you aren't comparing it to any other experience and especially if you are getting a good discounted rate. Then you're getting your money's worth. Thankfully there's lots to do in the area so you can go off property for meals which are significantly better tasting and cost less. One thing that really sets them apart is the communication. Anytime there was an issue I received a text. If I needed something I texted them. They texted to check in which is freaking awesome! read more

The hotel is great, and we have stayed here multiple times with no issue. BUT, if something goes wrong when you are a guest, expect to be completely ignored. They literally don't care to address or resolve concerns of safety, as clearly displayed by my recent experience. My son was injured at the water park, but it was not a normal injury in the course of using a water park--part of his body got stuck in one of the attractions and he ended up needing stitches. I've tried to report the incident and have called multiple times--there is never a manager working or available and every time I am told one will call me back. After nearly FOUR weeks and four attempts to speak with someone in management (I'm not a Karen- I call and gently ask to speak with a manager about my recent experience), I have still not received a call back from anyone. I submitted an online "contact us" form- no response. There is no corporate office you can call so literally no consequence for the management of Great Wolf Lodge if they just blatantly ignore you. You will likely go and have a great time at GWL, but it's not the only option for fun in the area. I recommend you find anywhere else--especially if you are a parent--they clearly don't care if something goes wrong (or a child gets injured!) at their hotel/water park, and will make no attempt to investigate or even just hear your concerns if you have any. And also: your child can have part of their body get stuck in part of an attraction and get injured, and they obviously will not have addressed that safety concern since they are unwilling to even hear/investigate what happened in the first place. The staff and employees are 5 star and first rate. That being said this birthday adventure was a total shit show starting prior to arrival. The spam upgrade your rental texts were gratuitous. The notification text while enroute to inform us of a $15.00 add on parking fee per vehicle was ridiculous and not properly enforced as a vehicle was vandalized on site overnight. Honestly, we live in rural MN, but crime happens in the cities. That is on us. The water park did not highlight it closed at 8 or 2000, while reopening at 1000. This was disappointing as a $200+ room left a bit to be desired. All add ons can be charged directly to the room. Connvienient if you prefer to leave valuables locked in room. Wristband is keycard. Nice feature. No extra cards for the kids, bummer. Extravagant for middle class and perfect for wealthy or upper class families with a plethora of disposable income. A maintance issue resulted in a persistent repetitive sound and kids refused to sleep in our room. Front desk staff was accommodating as the hotel was sold out and offered breakfast for our party. The water park is beautiful and worth a visit. The toddler paradise is amazing and centrally located. The hike for the larger water slides was unexpected, as we frequent water parks. These are much longer in duration than others. Be prepared as the stairs are an epic work out. The baby park was our favorite, though there is something for everyone! Picture outdoor swing set with an internal sprinkler system. Fantastic. If we could afford this level of extravagance we would but it was cool seeing how the other half live. The surf area was spectacular. No PA system to announce closure or emergencies. We expirienced both and it struck me as odd. It is easy to misplace busy preteens but definitely challenging to find them without prearranged signals. Ie. Code word, bird call or signal flare. Great memories, but best made elsewhere. read more

Overall my kids enjoyed themselves. The water park was fun and large and plenty for kids to do for about a day . The seating was very limited after 1pm. Best times were from 2-3 and 6-7pm to find seats . The bar area was minimally staffed and could use another person at times . The line waiting lines weren't too bad and the staff was friendly. The gaming area is a huge waste of money . The prizes don't justify even a 1/8 of the money spent . A few were broken such as the Mario claw game that takes money but doesn't work properly. My daughter enjoyed the ropes course and the bowling was fun but for $7.00 a person for 15 minutes was tougher to handle . The pizza and ice cream stand were ok but another huge hit for $$ . Lastly the gift shop is the last attempt to collect all it can . It was fun to goto once but I have no desire to go back and look forward to outdoor water parks which cost way less . read more

If I could give this resort 0 stars, I would. It was my family's first experience at a Great Wolf Lodge and we had heard great things about the MN location. I used all of my Hilton timeshare points to stay here. We had the WORST customer service we've ever had on a trip. We requested towels, only a few of them came and not the ones we asked for. We waited over 2 hours and reached out 3 times to get one pillow and a blanket for one of our boys (the room only had 5 pillows for a family of 6). It was after midnight by the time they brought them, my step-son fell asleep on a balled up hoodie and a towel covering him. We requested room service about half way through our trip bc we were running out of tissues and toilet paper, etc. Found out you have to give them 24 hours notice. Went ahead and scheduled it and no one showed up. We didn't buy any food and only a couple of waters but the hotel REPEATEDLY charged my credit card with large authorization charges (4 of them were $925 each, and 2 of those after we left)... and couldn't tell me why. Had to visit the desk tons of times to deal with that and even call up to a week AFTER we checked out bc they were still charging my card! The market stores are ridiculously priced (up to $6 for one 24oz bottle of water) and Dunkin Donuts closed 10min before their posted hours, after my kids and I waited in line for 20minutes we got up to the counter and they stopped taking orders at 10 min til 12N (posted on the website). To top it off, the local news ran a segment that they were investigating that hotel for a parasite in the water that guests had gotten sick from a few weeks prior to our stay and no one mentioned anything!! read more

We booked a 'suite' that had a queen bed, a pullout sofa, and a set of bunk beds. I booked a suite because I wanted a separate living space, and the photos made it look like the bunk beds were in a separate room. In actuality, the 'suite' was the size of a standard solo traveler room. The bunk beds, queen bed, and sofa were all next to each other. I use a CPAP machine and our kids go to bed much earlier than us, so this was stressful. We certainly paid enough for a real suite, and I feel we were misled and ripped off. Also, half the light bulbs in the room were bright, stark white. It was a strange choice of the hotel and made the room feel very sterile and unwelcoming. read more

I've spent thousands of dollars at this lodge. There are things I really like about it: the bunk bedrooms for multiple kids, the wristband pay system allow you to leave your wallet in the room, the gift shop is well stocked with goodies and gifts; the size of the water park and its variety of activities is better than a lower-tier hotel waterpark, and the additional activities in the game area offer a decent variety of things to do. While my family likes a lot of what the lodge has to offer, it also feels like they charge full-price for a half-price experience. No housekeeping means a family in a room made for 6 people will stack up dirty towels and trash. The lodge puts the onus on the guest to call for "anything that you need." That's the opposite of thinking about the customer experience. They close some areas of the swim park for full days. We pay for a full park and a full experience. Service and staff in the Dunkin Donuts service are outstandingly bad, and the fact that they have makeshift signs saying they don't accept the Dunkin app is another sign of lowered expectations. The restaurant is dirty and the breakfast buffet is - though well-priced - understaffed and poorly delivered. There was overflowing trash in the hallways and near the elevator. We needed a toothbrush because we forgot one for one of our family members. Of course, the front desk didn't have anything and their store wasn't open yet. Speaking of the front desk, that is the most annoying part of the Great Wolf experience. It takes too long, it's loud, and the staff isn't service-oriented. After several stays, the check-in process is the part I hate most. Finally, the parking is ridiculous. Too few spots. I wish their staff were better trained, better dressed, and more Disney-esq in their presentation. I wish their parking was more plentiful. In all honesty, not as great as I thought it would be. Now that I have your attention... We got done swimming for the day and decided to visit the local restaurant across the lobby. I decided to try the Warm Potato Chip and Smoked Brisket Nachos. As I'm eating through the plate "bacon and brisket nachos, I'm realizing more and more of that Gordon Ramsay was right. Many restaurants (this one included) pile a plate high with a ton of "nachos" and only a small amount of the toppings. When you do this, consumers will ultimately leave about 50% of the nachos which results in the restaurant losing money in food costs rather than cutting down on the nachos and adding more of the other ingredients. This place was only different in the regard that the "house bbq nachos" were really just some very greasy, deep-fried potato chips with no seasoning. And perhaps it was the low lighting, but I saw plenty of bacon bits but not one piece of brisket. Definitely not worth the $30. My wife decided to go with the lettuce wraps which sounded appetizing until the food came out and we realized that they would not be the neatly wrapped wraps we were expecting to see. Everything came disassembled in a way where I could have made the same thing at home in 5 minutes rather than the half hour we waited for them. The diced chicken marinated in sauce was actually good but would have been much better had it not been brought out cold. She also agrees that we would have been fine without ordering them. Lastly, the highly-praised "s'mores for the table" was our dessert choice as recommended by our waitress. Honestly, the only good thing about the plate was the perfectly tempered "chocolate fondue". The Graham crackers and strawberries were all store-bought, the pretzel bites had no seasoning (even a bit of salt in them would have been better), and the marshmallows had nothing to be desired. Rather than charring them slightly with a blowtorch, put them under a low flame for a minute or two. This will soften them up and give the marshmallows that gooey goodness we all crave when someone says "s'mores". Overall, there's definitely room for improvement at the Campfire Kitchen as far as the food goes, but even more so as far as service goes. Throughout our entire dining experience, the lobby was turned into a movie theater followed by karaoke/dance night for the youngest guests of the hotel. I understand how hotel management would want to keep guests entertained but I cannot tell you how much I wanted to go out there and unplug the speakers so I wouldn't have to keep hearing both kids and parents (mostly dads) obnoxiously belting out "party in the USA" as loud and off-key as they possibly could while I'm trying to eat with my family. read more

The check in process needs to be fixed. It took hours to check in. The line went all the way down the hall. Causing you to basically miss your first day of water park use. If your stay is for one night then you may be at risk of having little time to enjoy the reason you came. The rooms are older. Need modernizing. Ok now that I'm done being a Debby downer. Stayed at The Great Wolf Lodge for 2 nights after Christmas. The resort is beautiful, and nicely decorated for Christmas. Variety of things to do for the kids if...........................you can afford it. First all the plus's. The drinks at The Watering hole (in the water park area) were so delicious and fun! The drink I pictured was You had me at Aloha, this drink was $11.00 but I loved it, so peachy. Also fun named they have the Mai oh Mai Tai, Sippin Safari, zig zag zombie. We had a salad some chicken wings and fresh fruit at Buckets chicken was $9.00, fries $4.99, fruit $6.99 about what you would expect. The rooms are very cute, lodge designed and felt and looked clean, our room had a queen bed, chair, table and 2 sets of bunk beds. Fridge and microwave. They do not offer housekeeping currently but if you need more towels, soap etc they will deliver it. They have craft hour for the kids in the afternoon, we made a bell bracelet then at the dance party they asked all the kids to jingle their bells and dance and if they jingled hard enough it may snow, well it did in the lobby (cute idea) fun and energetic activities people. The arcade is huge and draws you in, but the prices were outrages, each game shows how many paw passes it takes so most games cost you $2.00 - $3.00 to play and the prizes are stupid, (kind of what you expect) we met one couple that won a big fabric ball but they said it cost them over $100.00 of playing to win. They assign a concierge upon checking in and you will get texts throughout your stay making sure you are happy. We did order the worse dried up nasty pizza ever from Hungry as a wolf diner and I stated our stay has been perfect except for that and they immediately gave me a $25.00 room credit. WOW! That is unheard of so thank you. We did the breakfast buffet add on that you need to purchase in advance which was $13.00/per person, but you really need to as the only other option is Dunkin donuts and the line is very long. The creamery had very good ice cream, open in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay but I am more thrifty and have a difficult time spending this much on a 2 night stay Over $1,000 and we did not do the build a bear or take part in the sword deal or rock wall or bowling. Can't imagine how a larger family can afford this place. A+ service but you pay for it in the end. read more

Appears to be one of the nicer Hotels in the area. The theming and overall flow of the hotel is great, the lobby is large and open. It even has a big fireplace, there is a small gift shop, and even a very scaled down Dunkin' doughnuts. That's kinda where the good things end. Everything is an up charge, you wanna get discounts on the food or the build-a-bear. It's a charge. You lose a towel in the water park, it's a charge. You wanna park, it's a charge. The room we stayed in was pretty small, but at least it was clean. The beds were small, with a pull out couch. The rooms do however need some maintenance. The door handle in the bathroom was falling apart, and we almost got locked in there a few times. The show rod is falling off the wall, the paint is pretty worn. But it's not terrible. The value for the money isn't great. The water park is smaller than what we were used to from great wolf, and could also use some maintenance. The one big water slide, broke down after we waited in line for at least a half hour. And we were told it would be closed for the rest of the day, this was at 4Pm. The wave pool was ok, and the lazy river was pretty short, but overall it was ok. Was kinda disappointed that there was no whirlpool either. There was a nice little bar if that is your thing, as well as a restaurant that served a variety of food. Lastly do yourself a favor and bring water shoes, the stairs to get to the slides. Are horrible, very rough and hurt your feet if you have to stand and wait in line for more than 5 minutes. Parking lot is also super cramped and small. Some context before is this our families about 5th time coming here in the past 8 years; the experience has gone down every time we've visited. The prices have continued to skyrocket and the prices aren't even justifiable at this point. For example a small bag of nerds clusters is $8, a small cup of candy is $18, and coming on a weekend will cost you $500 a night. The rooms could use a little bit of updating as there seems to be a new issue every time we come. The sheets are very worn out and many have holes is them. The blankets are very bad which is common among hotels but is specifically bad here. The HVAC was super loud and made it hard to even hear anything. Some positives are that it has a good water park for small kids especially although I have noticed an uptick in rowdy teens every time we have visited. It really does have some good features MagiQuest, rock-wall, ropes course, arcade to name a few. The staff are not the issue as they are nothing but friendly. They need change from corporate. The prices are just way too high for it to be justifiable. The prices need to be lowered for our family to continue coming but there are still a lot of families willing to pay this price. You know also have to pay $15 a night for parking to add onto all the other up charges. I would recommend that if you are looking for a similar experience that is better then go to Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells as the prices are a little bit lower for a better experience. Unless you want to spend wild amounts of money on a bad experience with no improvements being made then I would recommend. Also if you want candy, snacks or a drink, get it from the vending machine on your floor instead of the gift shop as it is much cheaper. read more

We had a reservation in March 2024 and we flew in to Minnesota from Oregon for this, my nephew is gravely ill and Great wolf will not cancel our reservation. We gave a 48 hour cancellation, Greatwolf will not cancel it, they are charging us 100% of the reservation Almost $600 that they will simply keep unless we fly back out in less than a year. I highly recommend staying away from this place, take the kids bowling, would be better than going back to this place. Absolutely horrible place ! read more

Pros: kids loved it. they had a great time. they explored the whole park because we were able to stay overnight. this means they get a wristband and can check in as early as 1 pm. the next day they can use the wristband all day even if they are checked out (checkout time is 11 a.m.). there are many different areas within the water park. 1) kiddie area (do not overlook, lots of fun waterslides that the kids ages 12 and 10 enjoyed) 2) the bball and leap frog area where they can hold onto the net and jump on floating logs 3) the lazy river that goes around the entire water park 4) all the water slides they give every kid a wolf headband when they arrive. it's cute. they have many different activities for kids in the lobby. we went to wendy's for dinner and we came back and there was a dance party with bubbles in the lobby. it was pretty entertaining. customer service people were amazing and so helpful and kind. great people. Cons: hands down, THE PRICE. the least expensive we could get for a friday night was 300 dollars (included taxes). this allowed the kids to swim for two days so we opted to do that. if you don't stay overnight, the wrist bands end up being about 50 dollars. the reservation process has so many fees and restrictions. read them carefully -- i've never seen so many caveats with a reservation system. you could end up paying a lot if you cancel. even if you have express checkin, you still have to wait in line to get your wrist band tickets. friday was the busiest and we waited awhile. the sign for parking says valet but that is not working now so everyone just PARKED in the valet section and went in - my mom thought she could wait in line to have some park her car and nothing was moving LOL. handicapped people have no where to sit inside the lobby -- my 73 mother had to sit in the restaurant area. it was not ideal. the adventureland place is just games that you pay for and no prices are listed - you pay with your wristband so beware of a big bill at the end. the water slides are all on the top floor which is no surprise but i did see a few adults having to rest while the kids passed them by. it's a LOT of steps and you will get tired. OVERALL this was a fun experience for the kids. oh and if you stay with them, they send you a 50% off coupon for your next stay... so know that in advance and maybe split it with someone :) :) read more

Was told at time of reservations being placed we could get an early check in at noon. Upon the day of arrival we were told sorry no early check-in, you have a big room house keeping won't do it. Staff were rude to my daughter in law (nicest school teacher) ordered ice tea, paid for it and then told there out here is water instead. The TV in the cabana kept going out. Maintenance said must be a bad web connection and they couldn't do anything thing about it. I brought all my kids and grand kids. Never again. The water slides, river are not worth the money when service is so bad. Wasted over a thousand dollars on this failed celebration thanks to Great wolf lodge bad service! read more

If I could give negative stars... I would. I don't know where to start. Pricing, $489.00 plus tax for one night. You cannot check in until 4 pm, and the water park closes at 8. They do advertise you can come early but don't expect anywhere to change or keep your bags. Upon arrival, our front desk lady was condescending and rude. I was confused about which wristband was for the adults and which was for kids, she made me feel like I was an idiot for not knowing. We arrived at 1 pm, and started in the arcade. I purchased $70 worth of points for the games. That lasted about ten minutes. The games average from the $3.00-5.00/each. Total rip-off. When decided to go the waterpark while we waited for our room. It was overpacked. Every single chair was saved with a towel and there was nowhere for us to sit. After a while we were able to find 2 spots (for our family of 4) When we were notified, our room was ready, we went up and it was old, dated, and musty. We had a balcony that overlooked the waterpark, there was a surveillance camera mounted right outside out patio door. This was unsettling. We went down and bought a few overpriced things from the gift shop and went back to the park. Still no seating, rude teenagers cutting in line, no accountability or supervision from parents or staff. We got fed up and went to eat dinner. We ate on site at the "Campfire Grill" another example of sub-par service and mediocre food. Our drinks did not arrive until halfway through out meal. By this time the park was closing. We went to our room. The kid's blankets were so old and worn and did not even cover them.. The HVAC was so loud you could not hear the TV. I've been to numerous Great Wolf Lodges previously. I'd call this one an "ok wolf lodge". First off, the pool was freezing. Next, when ordering snacks from "Buckets", the poolside snack shop, they showed just how inept high school workers are these days. The kiosk for ordering wouldn't give a receipt, and the employee couldn't figure out how to print a past receipt when asked. The were out of 3 of the items we had ordered and paid for, and wanted to replace them with items that cost less. Finally, after working out the first two dilemmas, I return to the table to discover one of the kids cheeseburgers didn't have cheese on it as well. I didn't have it in me to go complain for a third time about the same order. When going to the "Campfire Kitchen" we discovered the food there is bland and tasteless. For the price, massively disappointing. I'll keep going to great wolf lodges, just never this one again. read more

We had a quick family trip to this place. I am very impressed with all the hospitality that was offered. Everyone wore masks and place was clean. Rooms were clean- the pull out bed is well- a pull out bed. Best part is that they have this virtual hospitality person who you can just text and communicate with. They check in on you at all times and whatever you need you just text them. Water park was fine. Multiple areas for play. Wear your masks. Room door and towel check outs powered by the adult wristbands. You can also buy food and drinks with your wristbands which is pretty neat so you don't have to carry around your wallet. Daily children activities if you need a break from the waterpark. They do have a Dunkin Donuts and ice cream place inside the hotel as well. Overall great hospitality and great stay. Be advised! My review comes from a visit during the pandemic when they were operating at 40% capacity. So it was far less crowded and way cleaner than usual after seeing other comments. I personally had a great time as did my kids. One complaint was the "cleanliness" of our room. While we watched the staff thoroughly clean the waterpark from our balcony, we were disappointed with finding food smeared on our hotel room wall, and the mattress pad of one of the beds had a "stain" on it that had very obviously not gone through the wash yet. Gross. So the public use areas were super clean and the rooms were not. I will also say the waterpark hours were open from 10-8. 10am is super late to open for families staying at a hotel waterpark. There was nothing for us or our kids to for 3 hours in the morning when they woke up. The hotel staff claim they usually have activities in the morning but they were cancelled because of COVID. So I dont know if the hours are usually different or if they have copious morning activities. The waterpark was AWESOME. It wasn't crowded, there were plenty of tubes available, and no lines for the slides! We will definitely return, but might go in the middle of the week in the fall to avoid the "post pandemic" Saturday crowd. read more

Not as great as the nearby Wisconsin Dells location (no outdoor water park and not as much variety of slides), but a lot of fun for the family. Rooms and nice and have good updates. Water park is huge inside and has a lot of fun offerings, but not as much variety as the big water parks in the Dells. The attractions include: 3 body slides, 2 tube slides, 1 huge 5 person tube slide, a large kids play set area with multiple slides, a wave pool (this is a big hit for kids), a sizable pool with 4 basketball hoops, lily pads to get across for kids, a surfing simulator, and a really long lazy river. They have a lot of other activities, some free in the lobby (kudos for the fun trick or treating!), but others will leave your hemorrhaging money everywhere, such as the arcade. My kids burned through $70 in a short time and got a few small prices. They also have mini bowling, a ropes course, Magic Quest, and Gem Mining. Staff are mostly great, but there was one employee that was running the 2 tube slides that really soured our experience. My wife asked for clarification on his directions, since it was hard to understand what he was asking due to all the yelling and he basically was argumentative with her and yelling at my kids, nearly leaving my 10 year old in tears. He didn't want to ride these slides again the rest of the night. Thankfully that employee wasn't running any big slides the next day. Besides there being water for the kids having fun, the experience getting food is F*ing disastrous. The kiosk didn't work for us(bracelet scanned, then machine glitched out), the food took longer then should have. 4 workers "cooking"and slow getting our cheese bread and wings. Not busy here, it's a Thursday night... my White claw could have been handed to me by now, literally waiting in line... Probably would have 3 of them by time food was all eaten... We are at the Hungry Wolf, seems to be confusion about the whole process of food prep and customer service... We took our 2 kids & 2 of their friends for a couple night stay for a fun summer getaway. Is it pricey? Yes. But we did take advantage of a sale and it was a heck of a lot more affordable than going to the Dells. Plus, we were able to pop over to Mall of America. I wish places would come down in price on these, because we'd visit a lot more often. As for our room - we had a nice big room -- it was actually 2 joined rooms. One was a double bed with a pull out bed and full bathroom, the other room was a living area with bunk beds, pull out bed, full bathroom (with shower & tub), and a separate king bed bedroom. It was perfect for our situation (2 adults, 2 girl teens and 2 boy teens) and gave everyone enough space to be apart, yet still together. Room was clean - no issues with that. We did not have housekeeping come in at all. We didn't have any issues with parking. One day when we came back, we ended up way out in the lot, and it didn't seem like there were any other open spots - so I could see how it could potentially pose a problem at times. No problems with elevators. There was an entire bank of elevators (4) in one spot. And a single elevator on the other side of the hotel. Yes, the single elevator was always busy and we avoided it because it seemed to take awhile. But it wasn't a far walk to the bank of the elevators, and it seems the majority of the rooms are at that end anyway. We also rented a cabana by the pool. We wanted to be guaranteed somewhere to sit. It wasn't incredibly busy while we were there, but since we didn't know what to expect ahead of time - we booked prior to arriving. Overall, it wasn't bad. We had comfortable seating, a TV, safe (this was honestly the best part - we knew our expensive cell phones (6 total between us and the 4 kiddos) were safe), a small fridge, etc. We ordered pizza - since sadly we couldn't bring outside food in. I would have preferred to have Pizza Hut bring us some $7.99 pizzas instead of paying the price at the joint at the hotel. Plus, the pizza was just .... okay. Not really impressed with that. But, we didn't want to leave the waterpark and needed something quick & remotely affordable to feed 6. The guy assigned to helping our cabana had trouble closing out the ticket when we went to finalize our tab - and we ended up with duplicate charges on our credit card. It took a few phone calls to finally get that straightened out - but they did end up fixing that. The waterpark itself was decent. Not super big, but enough to get you wet and keep you occupied for a bit. We especially enjoy wave pools and lazy rivers, so that was nice to have. If the kids were younger, they probably would have enjoyed it even more, since they'd also have played in the water jungle gym type area with splash bucket and smaller slides. But - having teens now - they want bigger things - but there were still several big slides, as well as the surf station thing as well. Overall, we were happy with our stay. read more

We stayed in the Bloomington for one night before flying back home. Please be prepared to PAY BIG!! Great Wolf Lodge will never be cheap. You can sometimes find deals midweek or on Groupon. But we probably spent almost $1000 on 24 hours. We did rent a cabana so we could get in early to water park the day of check in. You have access to water park at 1:00 on check in day but we were only there for one day-so we wanted the whole day. If you rent a cabana, you can get into water park at 10am, so we did that. Cabana rental is hit or miss. We got a great cabana for $240 for the day right by the kids splash pad and bar-this includes a server. We had Evan, who was wonderful!!! Water park wasn't crazy busy. After lunch, it died down and then got busy later. My kids had a blast, not a lot of lines. Where there are lines, kids cut and can be rude, so you have to keep an eye on it. As it gets busy, you can see the place get dirty!! Lol like with every business, there just wasn't enough employees. My girls love magic quest and the arcade. The arcade are Money suckers-so be prepared to spend a ton of money here as well! Magic quest can get confusing but my husband loves it as much as my kids, so he figures out the quests. The food is "eh" nothing amazing but again be prepared to pay. It is expensive for tolerable food. People complained about things being dirty, I didn't really see that other then the water park as it got busy and that is because people are lazy and gross. Our room was clean. My kids love great wolf lodge-so we will continue to explore other locations. This one works for a quick stay when flying out. But know everything costs!!! read more

The overall experience was fun but the service and environment was severely lacking. For one, they are unnecessary strict. For example, you get charged $15 for each towel that you don't return to the specific pool area. Most hotels and waterparks I've experienced provide these towels free of charge. The wristbands serve as your room key and the kids' bands do not work to open your room door. My 80 year old dad wearing street clothes (not a swimsuit) didn't have his wrist band on and they wouldn't let him go into the pool area to just check it out or look for us. The place is very clean, but honestly I think there is too much staff time and energy spent on cleaning rather than customer service. They are constantly mopping the lobby floors (not sure why, they didn't seem to get dirty) and sprayed an extreme amount of fragrance around the lobby multiple times (not a cleaner, just fragrance) that made people feel nauseous. There are lots of activities for kids beyond the water park and arcade such as a really fun dance party for kids at night in the lobby area. However, these activities make the lobby extremely loud and chaotic. There is nowhere to sit and talk or get away from noise and chaos. The lobby was loud and full at all times. Checking in or out takes forever with a very long line (making the lobby again very chaotic). The elevators were full at check out time so you have to wait 20 minutes to go up or down the elevator. There are no stairs to use as an alternative (the stairs only lead to outside the hotel; there was no internal staircase available). There is a food court type of area upstairs near a take-out pizza restaurant. We didn't eat the pizza but it looked good. However, this area is also very loud because there is a bowling alley in the same place with no wall so there is constant noise from that. Finally, I did not get a final bill emailed to me but my credit card had an extra deposit of $374 on it plus two $105 pool charges even though we returned the towels. I called and was on hold for 18 minutes and then accidentally hung up on. Then I called back, spoke to someone very helpful but it took over an hour and a half to fix the issues. In sum, if you have young kids the hotel has lots of fun activities. But the lack of customer service and chaotic environment makes me never want to return. read more

One of the worst establishments you will ever visit. The front desk staff do not care. They do not want to help you. The pricing online is openly deceptive. Show us one thing and when you actually go try to book the price is 3 to 4 times higher. They will surcharge the crap out of you. I booked once at a certain price only to find out they billed my card at a higher price. They told me that is their policy to bill higher sometimes than was quoted on their own checkout in website and that the email receipt showed they had actually billed me higher than i had approved. $100 / person to swim for 3-6 hours.... $300 to get 3 people 2-day passes and a hotel room. read more

Just don't even bother with thIs place. Came on a Friday with 2 adults and 2 kids and went to the front desk to get tickets. They said they don't sell them there, only online. Whatever, so we go to purchase them at 11am and the site says there's only 3 passes available. Then we talk to the staff to see what can be done, and nothing can be done. I gave it a four star because I am a avid coffee drinker and they have a Dunkin' Donut shop inside but it was closed (it was in the afternoon?). We stayed from Saturday December 30- Sunday December 31. Upon check in on Saturday December 30 at approximately 1:00 pm we were told the balance owed on our room was 400.00 (we had paid 102.51 to hold the room). We said, "great, we have a gift card in the amount of 400.00." The front desk person seemed confused and tried to debate us about using the gift card. She asked coworkers numerous questions and seemed to get it worked out. She then needed our credit card number for a 100.00 security deposit. We gave it to her, checked in, and moved on (although I did feel uneasy because she did still seem confused). Upon looking at our bank account today, there is a 400.00 charge from Great Wolf Lodge. This review is based of a Groupon fee and not the full fee. IF I had paid full price, I would have checked out early. I have been to many kid based hotels (Disneyland, Legoland and other various hotel water parks), all which have been expensive but very worth it. The GWL is NOT recommended. - Room itself was mediocre. We had a room with two bunkbeds and a Queen sized bed. The bathroom door is so close to the toilet that you cannot fully open the door as it literally hits the toilet. Rooms walls are very thin and you should bring ear plugs if you want a good nights sleep. - Elevators are always in high demand and we had an average wait time of 5 minutes just to get on to one. again, not a deal breaker but not worth what you pay. - we added on the breakfast at the Campfire restaurant. We did this for convenience and it was horrible. the bacon was literally in a pool of grease, no alternative milks or lactose free options. Wait time for our drinks was so long that we finished our breakfast before we got the drinks. - I had two mixed drinks - one at the pool and one at the bar - we paid $22 for EACH drink. drinks were made well but the price was ridiculous. - parking is $15 each day per vehicle - the arcade is not worth it so I would stay clear. very expensive and each game takes about 9 credits per game. - They let you rent towels from the pool but will charge you $15 per towel if not returned. well, apparently even if you do return them, they charge you. I made sure we counted (out loud) every time we returned the towels. I even went to the front desk at checkout to ensure no extra charges were on the room - I was told nope (apart from the drinks and food we ordered). 24 hours later, I noticed an additional charge of $196 on my bank...turns out they charged us for 6 towels for two days. I called and complained and the charges were taken off. if you choose to stay here, despite all these negative reviews, make sure that you check your bank statement 24-48 hours after you checkout for any shady fees they add. read more
