My experience staying here was very good, but at the same time they could have improvements here. The elevators on one floor would tell you that it's not working, but then you go to the next floor and it says that elevator was working so for safety reasons we would take the stairs just for a precaution, but that was very confusing. The room set up was very nice and clean when we got there. The room comes with a mini fridge and some extra cups and a bucket for ice. It also comes with hand lotion and two and one hair wash and body wash in the shower. They give you about six towels to start with and if you need more, you can call down and they will bring you up towels to your room. The TV works amazing and you're able to hook up your streaming service and remove it once you're done. The shower is nice, but the water pressure isn't that great also had a little bit of mildew above the shower because the shower and toilet area do not have a vent. The beds were quite comfy when we did pull out the sofa bed. The only issue we saw was there was still a stain from the last guest on the sheets, but all the other sheets and blankets were fine. This is definitely a nice place to take your kids. It definitely gives that more kid vibe rather than adult. Most things close at 11 pm or a little bit earlier, so make sure you check the times of everything. Outside of the hotel is beautiful all the landscaping and the statue is absolutely breathtaking. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

I went to the resort for a day pass with my kids 7.17.26. Everything was great until I returned to our vehicle where it was parked in their private parking for $25/ day and one of their employees deliberately sideswiped my vehicle and did a hit and run. Only to contact authorities and they were able to determine from surveillance footage their employee was at fault. He admitted and received a citation of hit and run. However, the resort hadn't reached out previously to notify me while I was at the resort that their staff had hit my vehicle and just returned to work as if nothing happened.

For the price they have you paying for rooms and food and parking it should be clean water clean rooms and they should throw in perks for customers but they're to money hungry! Stop lying I never got a discount

We took our kiddos here for a long weekend to celebrate my son's 4th birthday, and they had a blast! Our check-in experience was fine, and we easily got our wristbands. Our room was awesome. It had a cool little spot in the center with bunkbeds and had a fun scene with charters. The kids felt like they were in a fort and loved it! The waterpark itself was so fun! The kids loved the splash pad area and 'smaller kid' slides. My husband and I had a few moments to switch off and enjoy the lazy river. We appreciated that there was lifejackets available! We purchased a food voucher in advance to save some money. The food was alright, not many vegetarian options. We ended up eating two meals total on site and got Olive Garden (off site) the first night. Next time we will choose to eat off-site. They have a Build-A-Bear on site, which was a huge hit! The kids LOVED the arcade, and they had good bundle deals for tokens. They had dancing and fun activities led by the staff at different times of day. Once our kids are older, we will utilize the other fun activities like bowling, climbing, etc. Overall, this was such a fun weekend, and we can't wait to go back!

We came here for a few days after my brother and his family came in from California. It was a great way to start our visit! We all had so much fun! So many activities for everyone to enjoy. We had one of the 2 bedroom suites which allowed us with enough space to be able to relax and not feel on top of each other. The water park is sooo fun and extremely safe. We rented a cabana for the 2 days and loved every minute of it. It was nice to have a "home base" for everyone. The kids could go play on the slides, lazy river, or wave pool alone and come back to us when they wanted to. There are several places within the hotel to order food, snacks, ice cream, and coffee! They also offer many different packages so you can make your visit what you need it to be! Cannot say enough good things about the staff here either!

Don't panic reading some of the more negative reviews on here. There are just some people that cannot just enjoy an experience and have to find something or many things to complain about. Are there "different" types of people here? Yes. Are they maybe different from the people you surround yourself with normally? Probably yes. Is this a place where they live and breathe and upsell/up charge? Absolutely, but isn't that anywhere like this? This was our first GWL experience and my first indoor water park experience (grew up in AZ where all water parks were outside). We stayed one night. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday and left at 11am Sunday. We arrived on Saturday and we were surprised that a room was already available for us. We parked (yes you have to pay for parking). Then we lugged our bags up a hill and went to our room. Our room was a standard 2 queen bed room. When my husband checked in the morning of our stay it gave him a "would you be willing to pay X amount for an upgrade to a room with bunk beds if it's available at check in time" he said ok because it was about $25 at that point unlike $100 when originally booking. We did not end up getting the "upgrade". We didn't mind either way. The elevators take forever so most of the time we chose to take the stairs. We had a bit of a challenging time finding a chair to put our stuff on as it was the middle of the day on a Saturday. We found one and immediately I saw a trail of blood on the pool deck. I notified a lifeguard and it was 5 min before anyone came to block off the contaminated area and then probably another 5 minutes before they cleaned it. Meanwhile people are walking through the blood!!! So gross! We spent probably 4-5 hours at the pool. It was fine. Just lots of people and lots of kids. My kids are 4 and 6 so they weren't big on many of the water slides even though they could ride most. They enjoyed the smaller slides, lazy river and wave pool. There are a few snack places and a bar but we didn't go to any. The bathrooms inside the water park are beyond disgusting but with that many people I guess that's what you have to expect. When we were done at the pool we went back to our room (mostly it was a very clean room). We got ready and got our wolf ears. They had balloon animals being made in the main area by the fire place and a craft. We ended up eating at Barnwood for dinner. We didn't have a reservation but it was almost 6pm and they didn't have a wait or anything. The place was pretty empty. Now it is pricey, but we just didn't want to hassle with finding a place to eat offsite and didn't feel like pizza for dinner. You can order pizza and have it delivered to you. I also saw a few door dashers in the building as well. Barnwood was fine. The water glasses had water droplets stains on them which is kind of ick. The food was decent and so were the cocktails. It was a nice quieter dinner for us after being in the loud water park most of the afternoon. Afterwards we walked around. I should say we didn't pay for any of the extra add ons or passes (I know, boo, boring, mean parents) but we have talked to so many friends that said you don't need those things for your kids to have fun and it's fine either way. We looked at the shops, looked at the arcade, went to the glow dance party, which was mainly a dance party because no one wanted to spend $25 on a bubble glow wand for their kid. We got some ice cream and headed to bed because our kids were zonked. In the morning we noticed blood stains on the sheets of one of our beds but none of us were injured or had been bleeding so that was icky. We brought our own breakfast and then my kids got a donut from dunkin. We went to the pool for a few hours. It was way less crowded on Sunday- we felt like most people were checking out. It was also cleaner because it was the beginning of the day. We got to do a character meet and greet before we left. Our kids had so much fun. We didn't do the extra stuff and honestly they didn't really ask to do any of the extra stuff. You don't need to go broke to go to GWL. I won't be rushing back. I'm not a huge water park fan and I think our kids will like it a bit more when they are older. I'm glad we experienced it though.

Adult Bedbug in our room December 2025.

Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by bed bugs. We asked the front desk for a refund for half of our stay since we only used the park for one day -- which felt like a fair request considering we spent a night, visited the park, and then had to leave, bag our belongings, and throw many of them away. (Didn't ask for any refund on the money we spent on food, games, fun... fair, right?) Instead of a manager addressing the issue, the front desk sent a cleaning staff member to talk with us and only offered to refund the UNUSED PRE-PAID breakfast. When I asked to speak with the Director of Operations or someone in charge, I was told there wasn't anyone available. It's been days, and I still haven't received any follow-up or refund. Really disappointed with how this was handled. Will not be spending our money here anytime soon.

Are there electric car chargers here? how many charging stations are there? what kind of adapter…

    No chargers on site

What are the best rides here?

My personal favorite is Fort Mackenzie at the water park

Does the water park have one or more hot tubs?

    No hot tubs unfortunately

How clean was the rooms when you got into them (floors, beds made?, Bathroom problems, things like that)?

For me and my family the rooms were very clean however I found them extremely overpriced service was not that good and they wanted you to pay for everything so I would caution you about staying there as far as price wise is concerned but the rooms…

Can we buy just the passes for the park without staying in the hotel?

No! Nor would I stay there at $500 plus a night with them charging you for everything everything their food is questionable at best their service is basically nonexistent I would not recommend anybody stay at that place ever until they decide to do…

Are there microwaves in each room?

We had a regular room and it did! I'm almost positive that they do

Are the food packages worth buying?

To be honest I didn’t know they offered food packages. We were there for 24 hours and had two family meals (dinner and lunch) at Barnwood for @ $125 each meal. There were five adults and two kids.…

Is there a fridge in the rooms I could store a few snacks in?

We had a fridge in our room every time we went. So I assume so.

    Microwave or nah?

    Not in the room.

When you come by boat it can be slightly confusing on which docks to use, but we eventually figured it out. The restaurant is on top of a hill so you have to climb stairs to get to it. They have a cute patio with a few tables, but unfortunately they were full outside so we sat inside. The decor is really interesting and the restaurant has a cozy feel that makes me want to visit in winter. They have a selection of bottled beer and a bar if you want a cocktail instead. The drinks were good. Our group ordered a few appetizers - the jumbo pretzel, German meatballs, and onion rings. The jumbo pretzel was HUGE. They serve it with mustard, cheese, and honey mustard. The honey mustard looked homemade and was so good. The German meatballs were served over spaetzle and was also good. We enjoyed the onion rings too, and although they didn't come with any sauce the waitress offered to grab some for us. I ordered the perch basket as my entree. I had to after hearing so many things about their fish fry! Others in my group ordered the blue gill basket, BBQ chicken breast, jaeger schnitzel sandwich, veal brat, and chicken schnitzel sandwich. Most of the portions are huge and some of us probably could have shared. My perch was awesome and definitely on par with what I had heard about it. It was lightly breaded, nicely seasoned, and the breading didn't fall off. Perfect! Everyone else really enjoyed their meals as well. My boyfriend who ordered the jaeger schnitzel's only complaint was that it could have been a bigger portion, which is surprising considering how big some of the other portions were. They are cash only so make sure you bring cash! They do have an ATM to use if you find yourself in a situation without it. Our server, I believe her name was Allie, was great! The busboys kind of hovered over us and made me feel rushed to give them my plate, but we were the only table on that side of the restaurant so maybe they were trying to stay busy. My only wishes is that they'd exercise proper heath and safety precautions during this pandemic (most of the staff weren't wearing masks and social distancing wasn't encouraged) and that they'd offer some beer on tap.
