If you value your money and sanity, stay far away from Greater Chicago Motors. My experience with them was an absolute disaster, and I wouldn't trust them to sell me a bicycle, let alone a Bentley. I contacted them about a 2014 Bentley Flying Spur that was listed online for a price that seemed too good to be true. That was my first mistake. When I called, the person who answered didn't even identify the business as a dealership--he just gave me his first name. I almost hung up right there, and in hindsight, I should have. The salesman I dealt with, Sam, came across as abrasive, more interested in showing how clever he was than actually selling the car. He assured me the car was "9/10 outside, 9/10 inside," and insisted there were no suspension issues and nothing major wrong. He added the catch that it was a consignment car, and he "didn't know much about it." Translation: *this thing is a dumpster fire, and I don't want to be held responsible for it.* Still, I was serious about purchasing if it checked out, so I arranged a pre-purchase inspection (PPI). That report was the worst I've ever seen. Eleven codes popped up, including major suspension problems that would cost about $11,000 to fix. Both head gaskets were leaking. There was oil underneath the car. The coolant wasn't even the right color--it had a cream, milky look instead of the clear green it should have, which indicates oil contamination and cooling system failure. That's not something you "miss"--it's something you deliberately ignore. Every line of the report screamed "mechanical disaster." I've seen salvage-title cars in better condition. Here's the part that really set me off: there's no way they didn't know. A dealer who handles high-end cars sees enough of these issues daily to recognize them. The suspension faults, the leaking head gaskets, the oil drips, the contaminated coolant--these aren't hidden flaws. They are glaring problems. Yet Sam swore up and down that the car was solid and let me order the inspection anyway, wasting everyone's time. When I called back furious, I don't even remember who I spoke with, but someone eventually agreed to cover the PPI, likely just to get me out of their hair. That's about the only decent thing they did, and even that was damage control. Don't be fooled by the shiny, over-the-top positive reviews online. Dealers have tricks--like offering a couple hundred bucks off at closing if you write a "great review" on the spot. That explains why their Google rating looks decent on the surface. First off, I only gave one star because zero stars is not an option. Horrible experience, liars, con artists, deceitful. I saw a car they had for sale on autotrader, 2005 Porsche Boxster S, 32000 miles, thought cool ,nice car and great mileage. I went to see it, hour away, when I got there, William said "they told you the top doesn't work, right?" I said "no". I thought I'm here, I'll drive it. Car drove good, no issues I could tell. As I'm driving, two messages kept showing, I asked William about it, he said it's because of the top. I figured, no problem, I can get that looked at. I did a little research, contacted William, and we agreed on a price. Came home, looking around the car, and go to open the hood, and the button is broken and was inside the door frame, so I was unable to open the hood or trunk, to check the oil etc... This is friday 6/20/2025, so on Monday 6/23, I set up an appointment with a Porsche certified mechanic, and all hell breaks lose. They go through the car, find all kinds of spliced wires, and water damage, basically leaving the car unrepairable. Repairs would cost possibly as much as the car, and it would have to be rewired, with a new wire harness coming from Germany, last one took them 6 months to receive, and was ridiculously expensive. I called Sam Abbas the owner, and he said too bad, it's a used car, you knew about the top. I stated, yes I knew about the top, that's not the issue, the water damage that was not mentioned is. I believe looking back on it, they knew and just wanted to unload it. Really a shame, to do that to people, and by their reviews, they've done it several times before. Before I begin my tirade about my crappy experience with Greater Chicago Motors (Mesa, AZ location) I urge all considering doing business with this outfit to read the 75+ "Comments Not Recommended For Review" section. At the end of last year, I was looking for a new "Toy" to enjoy during the summer months and year round here in the Scottsdale, AZ area. I decided on an early 2000's Porsche Carrera or Boxster as this is a luxury sportscar brand that I had yet to experience (I've owned Mercs, Bimmers and a couple of muscle cars previously) and had heard wonderful things about the brand. After about 2-3 months of internet searching, I was fortunate enough to find a number of Porsche candidates here in Arizona as well as a couple in California that would fit the bill. I winnowed it down to five choices (2 Carreras and three Boxsters) and left deposits on four of them knowing fair well that dealers like to move metal at months' end to avoid inventory tax and pump up the sales numbers. I also did not want these sold out from under me as it was year end and a great car makes the best Holiday present than just about anything you could receive. Well, I signed paperwork and left a $500 deposit down on a 2005 Carrera S with Wally Plachcinski at GCM...but, ultimately decided on another car I had a deposit on elsewhere. When I informed Wally of this and thanked him for his help (which was thin at best as I do my best to find out as much about a vehicle before I buy) he told me that my deposit was non-refundable as was stated in the terms of his contract (and a couple of the other dealers I left hard money with). I told Wally that two of the other candidates got the same phone call I was making to him; they were disappointed but understanding. Knowing that I may very well do business with them sometime in the future (I buy and sell used cars often), the other dealers I stepped away from thanked me for the opportunity and tore up my deposit and paperwork; Wally would not. After reading the "Comments Not Recommended..." section of this Yelp merchant (my first Yelp review ever, by the way), I am glad I did not purchase from GCM. I urge all willing to go through the process of dealing with this forgettable establishment to look under every hood, kick every tire and ask the questions that the sales person does not want to give you answers to; this will ultimately give you a pleasant, repeatable experience and you will not just have to settle for a vehicle but an automobile that you will truly love. By the way, ask for the test drive (not even offered to me by Wally as my car of interest was buried within a sea of others) and be aware of the $895 "Dealer Fee" charged to all customers...but never discussed or disclosed until you sign. A $500 loss is easier to swallow than an $895 empty fee, no doubt used to help fund the firms' owners' new boat for the much more finite summers that Chicagoans do their best to enjoy (I wonder how GCM's business practices favor among the good people of Chicagoland??). I later found out that the engine had been swapped and the other business that Greater Chicago Motors owns that does repairs had made a number of shady repairs just to hide damage, using the wrong pulleys, wrong belts, leaky water pumps, faulty superchargers, all kinds of things that were wrong and the car was not drivable. They took advantage of me and when I complained, told me that buying a car is like buying a house, whatever mechanical issues it has are now in me. This is legally not true. In the first 500 miles Illinois requires an implied warranty. These folks are the opposite of trustworthy. Stay away if you value your time, money and sanity. read more

I am a 59 year old car enthusiast and I've bought and sold many vehicles. I have a discerning eye and only buy clean, unmolested and undamaged vehicles. This is a lesson to everyone that even someone like me can get duped by an unscrupulous dealer. I would give this dealer a negative rating if I could. Do NOT buy a vehicle from these people. They have a large inventory of high-end vehicles but conduct business like a dealer selling bargain basement cars. Ever see the movie "Used Cars"? That's how they do business. Do your due diligence and read the reviews! Do a search on the BBB website as well. Pay attention to how the owner responds. Tells you everything you need to know. My attempts to speak to the general manager/owner of this dealership were ignored. It wasn't until I made a complaint to the BBB that the owner finally responded. 1. They didn't disclose prior damage, body work, and paint work. 2. Only gave me one key (fob). Car originally had two fobs programmed. 3. They sold the car without having possession of the title which is against the law in Illinois. I purchased a 2016 Audi S8 through Greater Chicago Motors on 11-22-22. I dealt with Wally. The car was located at their Phoenix store. There was no indication of damage on the Carfax and the dealer did not disclose that there was prior damage to the car. An Audi dealer in the area did their "Multi-Point" inspection on the car and the only thing noted was it needed a new battery. They do not inspect the car for signs of prior body repair and they also do not look underneath the car for damage. We flew to Phoenix on the 3rd to pick up the car; unfortunately it was raining, making thorough inspection in sunlight impossible. The car was sitting near the exit door with very poor lighting. I looked over the car as best I could given the circumstances. We left with the car, staying in the Phoenix area to visit family. It wasn't until two days later that the weather finally cleared that I was able to look over the car in the sunshine. I immediately saw signs that the entire passenger side of the car had been repainted and I could also see signs of body work on the doors. I called Wally and asked why this damage wasn't disclosed and was basically told, too bad so sad, you bought it as is. This is a car with 37,000 miles on it with an original sticker price of 146K, not a two-thousand-dollar, 100k mile, cheap used car. I NEVER would have bought it had I known of this damage. After we got home, I put the car on my lift to inspect the undercarriage and found damage to the driver side that looks like it contacted something while it was backing up. My guess is while it was being offloaded from a transport truck. Also, the large splash shield under the engine had so many fasteners missing, I'm surprised it didn't fall off on the drive home. It was also missing a panel. And there was a large colored scuff on the lower front bumper cover. The condition of the paint is very poor and in serious need of a thorough correction. There are swirls, scratches, spots, and other contaminants in the paint that will not wash or polish off. They only gave me one key (fob) despite there being two originally programmed to the car. Insurance companies do not like lost key fobs. Replacements are very expensive and can only be programmed by a dealer. I've gotten estimates of $500-$600 dollars! This should have been taken care of by them BEFORE they sold the car. Before we left with the car I asked Wally for the title. He told me it would have to be sent to Illinois to be transferred to their Chicago store's name since that was where the sale was being handled to avoid having to pay sales tax to Arizona. I took him at his word. More lies. Two months later after MANY phone calls to the dealer, the Illinois Secretary of State Police, Volkswagen Credit, and their own title person named Shirley, I learned they never had the title to begin with, despite telling me otherwise. They acquired the car through a Manheim auction and for some reason, Manheim never sent them the title. Volkswagen Credit/Remarketing, who partners with Manheim, confirmed to me that the title was sent to the dealer on 1-20-23 (seven weeks after I purchased the car). The title was finally issued by Illinois on 1-25-23. Again, it is illegal to sell a vehicle in Illinois without having the title. If you absolutely must have a car they are selling DO NOT buy it sight unseen. PERIOD! Make sure YOU inspect it very closely in the sunlight. DO NOT rely solely on an inspection service or an inspection by the manufacturer's dealership. This applies to any car you buy, but ESPECIALLY for Greater Chicago Motors/Greater Phoenix Motors. DO NOT trust a Carfax, Autocheck, or any other such service. They only report incidents that are reported to insurance companies. If an owner has damage repaired and paid out of pocket, it will never show up. Use your own eyes. read more

Ahmed communicated well, no high pressure sales tactics, and was a man of his word. My 2016 Range Rover had a broken bracket on the running board. He said they would order and replace the bracket. It was on backorder and they found out they had to buy the whole running board, motor and bracket from LR as an entire kit. Rude, Unorganized, and Unprofessional. Spoke with a representative named "William"; this guy sent me an email and wanted me to call the office to discuss further options. Once I called, I was met with an unenthusiastic, dry, morbid voice, which was alarming. "William" went on to say he could not find my email, which was a lie because after haggling with him about not putting in another application, he somehow found the original. He then put me on hold to "look at the application," which was followed by him hung up on me. After being hung up on, I instantly knew this was credit discrimination and a salesman feeling his time was being wasted. I called them back, which is not customary of someone who hung up on you and talked to William again. William did not apologize for hanging up on me, nor did he acknowledge that it happened. He then started to talk about some cars that I did not even apply for. This must have gone over his head because he started to say I need 11,000 down, and it will be 500 a month, which again is a way to try to get someone off the phone. Again, I had to explain to my morbid salesman that I was looking for something TOTALLY different, and the conversation somehow went even worse. He told me a vehicle of high miles couldn't be financed, which on Facebook, the vehicle did not have mileage or a picture of milage. After he expressed that, he went silent, as to say hang up or I am not speaking anymore. After that, I hung up the phone. I wouldn't recommend this lot to anyone, especially if you're looking for an exotic or foreign vehicle. There are TONS of other lots with better customer service and are better than William and more open to looking for sale. Discrimination at its finest! read more

I worked with William in purchasing a Mercedes GLA AMG from them. It was a very smooth transaction and even feel like we penciled together a good deal. I was happy with their service, shop, and professionalism. I can't say the car was detailed very well nor serviced while they had it in (dirty oil/it was on their lot and in their possession for quite some time though) so I just took car of an oil change myself, no big deal to me. When I left my original review I also made a complaint with Better Business burrow as well, they ended up taking away his eligibility to put them on his web site because he never responded to my complaint, so, a year later he finally responds to my complaint, not to satisfy a good paying customers needs or to fix the Wrong he made, but to satisfy the BBBs needs for a response, they also offered me some hush money in the amount of 500$. I laughed and told him I'll only drop this is they paid me the full amount they ripped me off for. Close to 10 grand. No one uses that anymore and that's how they still have a good standing with them. I was initially going to give all 5 stars however based on my experience post sale I am very disappointed, at the time of purchase the Sales Rep 'William' was very nice and on point - as part of the purchase it was agreed that some mechanical work would be done along with brand new replacement rear tires. After purchase there has been no follow on their side and even though its on paper and part of the purchase agreement, I still haven't received my tires, whenever I've called I am redirected to the Services Team, they don't know what's going on and tell me to talk to the Sales Team. Very disappointed - the sales reps should have the decency to abide by the agreement and deliver to their commitment. STAY AWAY - SCAM ARTISTS. Just bought 2015 Ferrari 458. I live in LA and was buying a vehicle unseen. Was assured on the phone and with multiple emails that the car is in excellent condition. Here are the few big ones of the many issues: Odometer Fraud - Vehicle was advertised with 27,000 miles, upon purchase the contract (attached) was showing 27,419; The vehicle has arrived with 27, 877 miles as evidenced by a bill of landing The vehicle has significant paint damage - during negotiations on two different occasions the vehicle was represented as in excellent condition - upon arrival and as documented by the transportation company (attached) there are dozens of chips, dents, and paint discoloration marks all over the vehicle - Vehicle needs to be repainted apx $20k Once repainted Ferrari's value significantly depreciate. Standard Components were not included with a vehicle nor was it disclosed that they were missing - Original tools, car cover, manuals, second key - Estimated Value of these components is aprx $5k 3 weeks after the purchase I was told that I need to pay an additional $7500 as the dealership did not collect enough to cover taxes and registration. Classic, sleazy used car dealership. BUYER BEWARE! Do not do any business with these scumbags, you will regret it I guarantee it! These guys will bully you into putting down a deposit on a car, lie to you about its condition and other material facts about the car, mislead you throughout the whole process, completely rip you off, and then never speak to you again. I was interested in a BMW that was represented as having 21,xxx miles. I had exchanged numbers text messages, phone calls, emails, etc. with William Natal, who kept on telling me the car was in 'mint condition', had never been re-painted, no issues, still had factory warranty, etc. I even flew from NY to check it out and test drive it. No issues during test drive. Noticed a couple small items were broken/missing, but was promised they would be taken care of before I cam back to purchase. They tried to rope me into financing with like 9% interest or some crap like that, so I just paid cash instead. Bad idea. I completed the purchase on September 6th, 2016 and proceeded to make the ~1,000 mile drive home to NY. On September 12th, I took the car to a local BMW dealership to have it checked out and get any potential warranty things fixed before it ran out in a few months. They looked up the VIN and told me that the car had no warranty remaining. They then told me the car had warranty work done back in October 2013 with recorded mileage of 26,151, and again in July 2014 with recorded mileage of 34,538. It was evident that the odometer had been rolled back on the car. Immediately called the dealer, told them what I had learned, and gave them chance to just take back the car, give me back my money, and that would be the end of it all. They essentially spat in my face, saying it was too late, but that if I wanted, I could come back and trade this car in for a new one. I wanted to scream. After I received the title a week or so later (which was a violation of the law, as they are required to show it to me/make me sign it) I started reviewing purchase documents and realized that they never actually signed the title of the car over to me, which I think technically means they never really completed the sale. I also noticed that the handwriting in the odometer disclosure field on the title was different than the signature on the disclosure statement. Later investigations by police agencies and other authorities in Cook County, IL and Miami-Dade County, FL (the car had been purchased off eBay from a seller in Miami before GCM sold it to me) revealed that the seller never filled in the digits on the odometer disclosure statement. But instead of sending it back to the seller and telling him that there legally would be no sale unless he filled it out (as it blatantly states must be done right there on the title!), they shadily filled it in themselves with the digits displayed on the car. That in and of itself is a clear breach of the dealership's own duty to verify the accuracy of the odometer statement, and a breach of state and federal law to even complete the purchase without that information filled in by the seller. FWIW, based on a couple of things the salesman mentioned to me (the they got the car from a guy they have done business with before, etc.) I think they knew the whole time about the mileage discrepancy and passed it on to me thinking they could get away with it. I later found out that they also hid other things from me too, like the underside of the car having significant damage, one of the rims being bent, and a few other minor maintenance issues. They knew about all of these things too because through the investigations, un-redacted copies of documents previously given to me were obtained...the documents they had provided me with (after asking for them multiple times) had certain lines of information 'blacked out' with a sharpie to hide the damages from me. The manager, Wally, even claimed that the hidden information was "personal" and contained names and addresses, which I knew was a load of BS. I gave them another chance to undo the deal and just forget about the whole thing, and they stuck their noses up at me again, so I told them I would bury them. As it stands today, the matter is in civil court; and this is only after I tried gong through arbitration with the BBB (as I signed an arbitration agreement with purchase documents) but they never paid their arbitration fees after 9 whole months. Certain Illinois laws may allow me to collect treble damages in the matter, which would be wonderful as it would, hopefully, truly bury them. DON'T BUY HERE ~ Absolutely terrible customer service and shady business practices. I went under contract on a 2007 Porsche 911 SC4 (internet transaction). Of course everything was very friendly and smooth - I worked with William Natal. The day after I went under contract I told William I wanted to have the car inspection at an authorized Porsche dealer... at this point William started having a melt-down and sent several e-mail stating "your deposit is non-refundable... of course they'll find something wrong... we aren't going to renegotiate, etc., etc. - he just became a completely different guy. I explained my right as a buy to do an inspection, and with a vehicle of this price (and potential problems) I wanted to done professionally... William finally recommended a Porsche Dealer nearest to Greater Chicago Motors and I set up the appointment for three business days later. Less then 12 hours before my appointment William sent an e-mail and said "...you'll have to get the car to the dealership yourself...", well I'm in Denver, CO, William knew that and he never mentioned it before - at this point I had such a bad taste in my mouth I told him I was not going forward with the purchase. Later in the day I spoke with the sales manager Wally Plachcinki (I requested he call me) who basically told me the same thing William did "your deposit is non-refundable... of course they'll find something wrong... etc." when Wally finally stopped talking I explained the entire transaction - once he heard this he said "you are right, William referred you to the dealership, and is responsible to get the car there" (this was a 20 minute conversation), at the end of the conversation I told Wally "Do you understand why I have such a bad taste in my mouth after all of this "Yes", and I'm just not comfortable going forward with the deal" I sent an e-mail explaining the same thing. They pretended not to get the e-mail and William called and said "Jeff, I'm happy to bring the car to the Porsche dealer for your inspection"... I sent another e-mail to William and Wally reiterating that I would not be moving forward with the purchase. No purchase contract was ever signed - they refused to return my earnest money $1,000.00 so I'm proceeding with a complaint to the Illinois Attorney General... I'm not the least concerned with my $1,000.00, I'm trying to ensure the shady business practices are investigated by the Attorney General and the Illinois Dealer Licensing Board. read more

"Good Selection of Cars but take your time" Was looking purchase a used 2010 BMW M3, long story short car was not as described after I did a pre-purchase inspection on it. I did put down $1000 deposit. Wally one of the managers did not do his job, but to his luck his boss Sam saved the day. After Sam found out of my experience he immediately reached out to me, refunded my $1000 deposit and sent me a check for $500 for my time. I am glad Sam cares about his business but management needs training. My take away points from my experience with GCM: 1. Do not buy cars sight unseen. 2.Get a pre purchase inspection on the car. 3.Deal with Sam only. read more

After the salesman told me he had to move back from New York because he was doing too much blow, my license he took so I could go on a test drive disappeared. I ended up buying somewhere else and had to get a new license because they "couldn't find it"/wanted me to come back in so they could try to sell me on their car. I have worked with Mark at Greater Chicago Motors on several occasions buying & selling cars here. Had no issues test driving cars in my budget was not pressured into anything. I love their selection of high end well priced cars. The pictures are great but I still always like to go in and test. My only complaint is that I don't have more money and a bigger garage!
