Tony is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly has been doing this a long time. He was able to find the exact Trailblazer I wanted, with the upgrades *I* chose myself based on his expertise. This was my first time buying a new car, and I could not have had a better experience! I came in for a test drive on a BMW 328d and the salesman who helped me was amazing. Very professional, polite, easy to talk to, however, I had an issue with the sales manager Tony Hayes. He is very unprofessional. He approached me in a defensive manner asking when would I mention to the salesmen that I had a dealership and then he shifted his tone once I rattled off numbers to him and showed that I know market average and he overpaid for the car. He raised his voice at one point because I said the car was too expensive according to MMR and market average and he started arguing in front of other customers. For him to have the need to challenge me about my dealership when all he had to do was chill for what would have been a chill conversation was not needed. Another sales manager called me the next day to apologize for the way Tony treated me however it was too late to care. They even called me multiple times after the fact and I said I'd call them when I'm ready but they still called, very pushy. My car was in need of a new battery. Although it had started in the past with help from a battery maintainer, when my appointment time came, my car was absolutely dead. Since I therefore couldn't make it to my appointment, Wickstrom sent an employee to my house to jump the car. It saved me an expensive towing fee. I can't even put into words how helpful Sean and Tony were to get us financed into a certified 2018 Equinox. Our credit was not the greatest and we had some road blocks but they knew which banks to go through so we didn't have to run our credit a million times. They let us do an extended test drive and even came to the rescue when I locked the keys in the car. This review is waaaaay overdue. Back in the summer of '14 (twenty-fourteen, that is), I bought a new car here. My first, brand-new car. What. A. Scary. Thing. To. Buy. It was unplanned, because my dear old car had broken down a few days prior. The cost of fixing the car wasn't worth keeping it, and I was stuck with limited options. Due to some of the upcoming changes in my life, we decided a new car would be the best thing for me to do. Fortunately, my experience here was so pleasant that it wasn't a scary thing to do at all. I am sooo glad we decided to purchase my car from this dealership. We walked in knowing exactly what car we wanted. The model I wanted, along with the specific color I wished for, were not at this dealership the day we walked in. We did get to test drive several other models of the same car, though. However, instead of trying to push us one of the cars on the lot, they looked around to find the exact car I wanted at another lot and brought it in a few days later for me. Regarding finances, we were presented with several payment options/car prices and were able to pick one that best suit us. They continued to check with us during the bank-calling process, which I appreciated. They didn't just try to reel us in with the monthly payment; the total cost of the car was discussed as well. I'm thankful they were patient and as honest as they could be about everything. Best dealership I've ever worked with. After using Wickstroms for ALL our auto repairs and purchasing all our tires here,a 179.00 quote turned into a 1900.00 nightmare. I called and said I hope you didn't juice this bill up because the service department is keeping the dealership open, and there was dead silence on the other end. Fast forward, I bring my car in for a tire rotation and to check loud tire. Well it's bearings and guess what? Quote is for 1900.00 magic number. They told my husband parts alone are a 1000.00. We decided to get other quotes as we felt they might be ripping us off, and got my car fixed at Jim's reliable auto for 600.00! Parts were 83.00 dollars! Beware ! I purchased a certified pre owned Chevy Malibu here in February 2019. In April I found out my radio needed an update so I made an appointment. When scheduling the appointment we discussed the issue and the time it would take (about 1 hour). I explained that I would wait for it as I need to go to work after "no problem" was the responce. When I arrived I again asked how long explaining I did have limited time. And again 1 hour was the estimate. After 90 minutes the service guy came and said they just got around to looking at my car and it would be another hour and a half. I told him I could not wait I should have been done 30 minutes ago. After 15 more minutes he came out and handed me the keys and pointed to my car. I went out to the car only to realize it was not my car. It was a different Malibu in the same color. It then took 15 more minutes for them to find my car keys. Needless to say this was a bad experience. In June I finally got my radio fixed. Then in September I received a letter from gm describing an issue with the third tail light leaking. I had been noticing water in my trunk so I called. They identified that the tail light does cause water in the trunk and we set an appointment for three weeks later. On October 15th I arrived for my appointment and was told it would take 1 hour and a half. I said I would walk over to a local restaurant and get breakfast. I was then told I would get a call if I wasn't back when it was done. I arrived back in 1 hour and a half, and proceeded to wait another hour. A total of 2 hours and 30 minutes. At which time I was told that they did not have the parts in stock. I explained that I set the appointment 3 weeks earlier and the parts should have been ordered. The service tec blamed it on the GM strike. I then asked " If you did not have the parts why did you not call me to reschedule or tell me when I arrived for my appointment " To which he had no reply. I then asked why it took so long to tell me. His reply was they needed to find the problem. GM sent me a letter we knew what the issue was the letter included a detailed description of how it would be fixed. I was then told that he would call me when the parts came in with no idea as to when that would be. It is getting cold so that water in my trunk is going to become ice and cause more damage but I am sure that Dick Wickstrom is planning on paying for that. Long story short if you cant tell the truth about the small things, how can we trust you with the big things. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. In the future I will do buisness with another dealership. read more

Wow! I'm the first to review. Well, great job for them at being such **wonderful** people so I can be the first to give one star and tell you to stay away! Cliffs notes version - They sold us a car they knew didn't work...Then tried to make up for it...Then gave us the run around for 4 days....Then gave us false information...Then tried to keep our check saying we had the car for "an hour and bought it 'as is' so..." they couldn't give us our check back...then gave us our check back. I tried writing out the whole ordeal but it was over 5200 characters long. Sooooo, I'll say this. Mike, the sales guy, was nice enough and seemed to be put in the middle of a whole chaotic situation. Jim, the service manager, seemed nice enough until he knowingly sold my husband a van with a bad transmission. And if you're the service manager, and you don't know there's a bad trans in something, you shouldn't be the manager of service. They only test drive their cars on routes with speed limits of 40 MPH or less. Jared, the president, is a young un who got handed the business by his dad, grandpa, and so on and really has no clue how to run a business that cares about their customers. This place is so unorganized, has no communication skills, and seems to try to pull a fast one on its customers...well, it seemed that way to us. In the end, we got our check back and they got their van back. But the ordeal to get to the end was absolutely ridiculous and completely unnecessary. read more

I have been bringing my car to this Chevrolet location for about 2 years now. The most recent time I brought my car in for an oil change, I received my car back with a massive scratch damaging the hood of my car. After walking inside and letting them know about this, the nice man behind the counter grabbed the service manager for me. The service manager walked out to look at it, and immediately denied they caused the damage. Now, I completely understand that they may have customers who come in and complain about things, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I told him I was not trying to cause any issues, I just noticed the damage and was asking for it to be fixed. He then proceeded to tell me "this can go one of two ways, and if you want to be rude about it, it will not go the right way". After that, I was completely thrown off and just nicely asked that they fix the hood of my car even though their service manager was being extremely rude to me and slightly raising his voice. Here I bring my car in, it comes back with a huge scratch on the hood and he is the one being rude to me. All I wanted was for them to fix the damage they created. He then proceeded to ask me if I was going to blame every scratch and dent my car had on them. I told him no since they did not cause the other few scratches on my car and that I just wanted the massive damage on my hood repaired since I did not drop off my car in that condition. I told him I am positive that was not there when I dropped my car off. I mean, it's a huge scratch on my hood. It's absolutely noticeable. He then picked out a tiny tiny dent on my car and asked me if I knew if that was there. I told him no, why does that matter? He then asked me if I was going to blame that on them too since I did not know it was there. I told him no, that would be silly. He told me they will try to buff it out, but that he still says it was not their fault. He then set me up for a Tuesday appointment after continuously trying to argue with me and saying I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about. Before agreeing to the appointment on Tuesday, I made sure I had someone to drop off and pick up my car with me on that Tuesday first, since I was extremely uncomfortable going back there alone after my interaction with their service manager. That's how uneasy this situation was. After I left, he then called me and told me that "No matter what we do to your car you will not be happy because you want me to bring your car back to showroom condition and I won't do that so just go file a police report and handle it with them". He then told me he was cancelling my appointment and I was not allowed to bring my car in to get the damage they caused fixed. I let him know I did not expect my car to be in showroom condition, but that I would like the hood of my car fixed. I really wasn't trying to cause trouble, I just wanted them to fix what they did. After all of this happened, I wanted to call the manager of this Chevrolet location to make him aware of what happened. He apologized to me, however he told me that I must have just caught the service manager on a bad day and that he "typically" is not like that. After that, he told me I still cannot bring my car in to get fixed and that I should just understand that everyone has bad days. He made excuses for the service manager and how he treated me instead of offering to fix the damage they caused on my car. I understand that people have bad days, but if you caused the issue, you shouldn't be the rude one. It's not like I wanted to have to walk back in and say hey, there's a really big scratch on my hood that wasn't there before. I just went in for an oil change and unfortunately this happened. All I wanted was for them to fix the damage they created. Sadly, after this instance, I will not be returning back to this dealership. read more

After having bad experience after bad experience, my dealing with Wickstrom was a breeze. I began my interaction with JT which included several emails back and forth, all of which were replied to very quickly by JT. Being honest and upfront with JT before even stepping foot in the door, made negotiations effortless. We agreed on a price of a vehicle and my trade in well in advance. When I decided to come in, I was passed off to Mario. This guy was a character, in a good way. Mario made my car buying experience pretty painless. He's not your typical salesman, and we had some pretty humorous banter back and forth, which made me feel pretty comfortable. I felt zero pressure and Mario knew my decision was between a truck here at Wickstorm and another at a Ford dealer. It helped that I was an educated buyer and knew what I wanted in advance, but I would recommend JT, Mario and Wickstrom Chevrolet to anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle. The only negative thing I have to say about my experience was the fact that it took almost 3 hours after we agreed on a deal to finally drive away with my new truck. About 20 minutes of this was after the paperwork was signed and I was sitting in my truck as Mario wanted to make sure there were zero problems activating my On-Star and transferring over my XM radio subscription. I was in the market for an SUV so I asked to test drive the Equinox. My boss has one and she is absolutely in love with it so I figured I'll give it a shot, even though I'm not really a Chevy person. I go in to try it out and the salesman seemed very nice and took me for the test drive. On the test drive, I knew the car was not going to be for me; I am too short, I didn't like the pedal, and I am used to a very fast car and the get-up was not quite what I wanted. But mostly, I am just too little for the car. So I told the salesman that while I really appreciated his time and the car had cool features, it's just not the right vehicle for me because I just could not drive it. He then tried to sell me on "well, if it wasn't for the pedal, the height, and get-up, what is stopping you from buying the car?" Well, maybe the fact that I cannot physically drive it. I kept politely reassuring that I was no longer interested, but thanked him anyway, but it's just not the car for me. He and another salesman then kept trying to sell me on the same car over and over and over and asking my why I cannot walk away with the car today and all SUV's are like this and that I should be walking away with a vehicle right now and it was foolish of me to not buy a car this second. Granted, I am well aware you make sales for a living and, ok, you have to be hardball sometimes to make a sale, I get that, but this was inappropriate. Especially when I'm giving you valid reasons why the vehicle just was not for me and I was still being cross examined. It wasn't an, "Oh, I'll think about it." Like, it was a solid no. lol Then the salesman forgot to give my my license back, to which I had to go back to get it. Then, as a follow up, he called me like every single day for like 4 days, while I am at work so I cannot pick up the phone. Then I get a text message asking if I am still interested. As though I magically grew 12 inches a week's time...Then he still proceeded to email me. While I understand sales is your job and your job is to sell cars and make sales, I just felt like my concerns were not regarded and it was all "sell, sell, sell". While I know every dealership wants to make sales, a new car is a big investment and I cannot afford to buy a car just to buy one. I need it to be practical for me and I just don't think this dealership really cared. I've been to other dealerships that were respectful of my opinions and just left it at that. About a decade and a half ago, my dad bought a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche from this dealership, and ever since then whenever there was a problem with it, we would take it there and get the problem fixed. However, last time when we dropped the truck off for some brake problems, they informed us that they found a problem with the fuel line after they took the truck for a test drive. Which in one way or another has to be utter BS, when I walked over to the truck to take home, I smelt gas, I find it hard to believe they never noticed the smell at all, and when I had the truck towed I never smelt any gas. So the only explanation is that they broke it while replacing the brake line and they aren't man enough to admit they fucked up and instead want us to pay them another 2000 bucks to fox their mess! read more

Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet is not even at the bottom of best dealers or service centers. They should be shut down removed from being certified service center. They lied to me about a known piston problem on gm cars. They said it's uncommon and not really ever had issues with the pistons but after doing research for only 5 min found out that it is a widespread problem with 2016.6 - 2017 Chevy cruze as well as Malibu. Well asked please fix it right or i won't take it back. They said we cant work on the car refused to do the warranty work car. Denied ever knowing about a defected piston problem yet when i called them I said found out it was a manufactures defect she said no it's a engineer problem. Gee is that not the same thing? Long story short. They put the wrong oil filter on my vehicle the day before my vacation. Oil leaked out onto the Kennedy Expressway. The towing company they use didn't want to deal with traffic. I walk-train-cab'd home. They got it to me next day after lunch. Vacation travel plans delayed about 1/2 day. Emailed Service Mgr, no response. I'd stay away from their service dept. By the way, the oil change that they did wrong took 1.5 hours and some grease ball got my interior dirty. I also asked them to look at a leak I had in one of the tires, couldn't find it. I want to thank you for teaching my son a valuable lesson about car dealers,I warned him to stay away from dealer service departments if his car was out of warranty. Check engine light was on and a purge valve was replaced at a part cost of $193.00 when the same part could be purchased for $30.00. I dont mind you making a profit but do you really have to mark up a part almost 6 times. Had an absolute horrible service experience. The oil light came on in my truck a few weeks after having the oil changed at Wickstrom so i brought it back to them. They replaced the oil pressure switch but told be it was still having issues, it was running really rough and engine was soo gummed up it would be best to put in a new engine for nearly $8K! I had the truck picked up and taken to another GM dealer in the area only to find out that there was a vacuum line left disconnected and the screen in front of the oil switch that was just replaced was damaged by a tool of some sort. They replaced the $6 screen and plugged the vacuum line at no charge and no problems for the past two months. Did my own oil change over the past weekend and oil looked perfectly fine. Some very shady practices on this one trying to sell an $8K engine replacement for a truck under 100,000 miles for a $6 problem. read more
