Follow me: Weds (10/1) tuition was due for the week of 10/5/2025, meaning that the week of 9/22…read morewould cover the week of 09/29-10/03. My daughter was picked up late on Monday, 09/29, +$30, and I was late on tuition on 10/01/2025, +30 on top of the tuition. So, on Thursday, I emailed this to Marqueda so we could come up with a payment plan, and I agreed through email. Earlier this Thursday morning (10/02), my daughter was rejected care, not because of my past-due balance on a day-late tuition, but because it was 7:15 am. I was confused because there was no school, and La Petite promotes that on school days, the drop-off time is 6:30 am- 6:50 am, so the kids can make it to school on time. So I had to turn around, call my job, and tell them I had to miss work because of the situation. Second offense, on Friday (10/3), there is still no school for HISD kids. I arrived at La Petite at 6:30 am, and there was no one there to receive my child. At 6:40 am, a lady pulls up and lets us into the building. I'm thinking to myself, "Well, this is strange. Parents have 10 minutes to check their kid in for care, and my daughter is the only one here. This cannot be true that the cut-off is at 6:50 am. I would see other kids pulling in." Then, the daycare teacher who let us in, my daughter, and I see a lady come from the back. I asked her if she had been her the whole time because I had been calling and knocking on the door. She responded, "Yes, she was her, but she could not hear." La Petite is 30 minutes away from my job; therefore, I would be late the day after I had to call out of work because of La Petite. I left a voicemail for Marqueda on Friday, 10/3, expressing my frustration about the situation, and somehow I was gaslit. She said that "I went into working on Thursday, thinking it was Wednesday, so I didn't know they had school, but upon reviewing your account, I see that you're delinquent, and she wouldn't have been able to stay for care on Thursday anyways." Well, that's confusing because remember I said at the beginning of the review that I paid 9/22 would cover the week of 09/29-10/03, so that made no sense. Then, even if so, I responded to the email of the payment plan, and said I would pay on Monday since I was late for the week of 10/05. She proceeded to say I was screaming at her when I was not. She said that I would not let her speak when I asked her throughout the conversation if it was okay that I spoke. She told me that most parents tell them ahead of time that their kid will come in when there is no school, or they will watch them at their house. Like I mentioned before, 10/2 and 10/3 were paid for previously; they always pick her up from school on Thursday and Friday, so why would she not be accounted for? It seemed as if anything I said in response was being turned into something else because of deflection. I had to end the conversation and call corporate.

We came to Esperanza upon recommendation from a family friend with a child and we are SO GRATEFUL for that recommendation. Our child is currently in the 3-4s class called the Angelfish which is led by Ms Lisa and Ms Ruby. Prior to entering angelfish, our child was VERY clingy, very quiet around her peers, and ALWAYS had to have her stuffie. Sure it was cute, but when you literally cannot go one single place without a stuffed animal and God forbid you lose the stuffie I felt like my little kiddo was hanging onto being a baby for as long as possible. There were noticeable positive changes once she entered angelfish classroom, the teachers were kind and encouraging but they stuck to certain boundaries which I REALLY appreciate because I know children need structure, clear rules, and a safe and nurturing environment to thrive but sometimes it's hard doing that for the few hours of time you have with your child at home. Although our child was very very nervous to make the transfer to her new class, we noticed within a month or two, she loved her stuffie but no longer needed it everywhere she went. She regularly started using new positive/kind language (which she got from her teachers :) ), she became much more social with kids at the parks, she would sit and eat her ENTIRE meal before getting up to play. The list goes on. These may sound like small things or things that might naturally have occured at her age, but we know these things in particular were highly motivated and clearly demonstrated at her daycare on a consistent basis. Outside of our childs behavior, my husband and I have been so impressed with the thorough communication from the teachers and the school. Esperanza and their teachers are highly communicative and do so in respectful manners. We also really like the teachers in general. Ms Lisa, Ms Ruby, Ms Franny, and Ms Tina, Ms Lydia and Ms Valerie have all been great to get to know over the last 1-2 years. I'm also so surprised that even though the school is quite large, MOST teachers we walk past know our child's name and always greet her (teachers I've never seen or met. I ask my child who they are and if they're nice and she's always replied that they are super nice to her ) I'm so glad that we chose Esperanza where there are like.. literally 6-8 playgrounds for kids to play, high parent and teacher engagement, and a safe space for our little one to grow into a big girl We are especially grateful to Ms Lisa and Ms Ruby as this is our last few months at Esperanza before we move states, they've been such great leaders for our classroom and I know all the angelfish parents feel this way as we get together quite frequently and I've only ever heard positive remarks about our teachers

The school was always such a happy place for my kids and they loved going. It's a smaller school so the teacher/staff are all involved in every classroom and know every kid by name. There is very low turnover on the staff so your children don't have to adjust to new teachers often. TCC uses an app and updates multiple times a day with pictures/activities, that was one of the hardest parts about moving on is not getting those updates every day. TCC also keeps things fun and stimulating for the children with theme weeks, extracurricular activities (Tippi Toes, Soccer Tots, Jolley Trolley), art, daily spanish class, and occasional music. If the weather is nice they try to give your kids extra outside time and in the summer do fun things like splash day/foam party/snoballs. The preschool program in particular is very impressive as far as learning and curriculum and my kids were more than prepared for grade school. They also have the choice of healthy/balanced lunches and snacks so it is one less thing for parents to worry about. The other families are wonderful as well and there is a great community. Parents are often invited to events for things like Halloween, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Christmas, and several others. The gifts they send for Christmas and Mothers and Fathers day that your child made are priceless and I treasure them so much. They have flexible part time options if you are looking for that. The school has the standard staff to children ratio. More often than not, there seems to be fewer kids (I think) than the maximum. So, each teacher looks after fewer kids, which is an added bonus when that happens. Bright and sunny facility in a secure building. Hassle free pick-up and drop-off with ample parking. The office complex has a large private court yard, which has provided hour of entertainment for our child after school. Compared with other daycare around the neighborhood, this school has longer hours (6:30AM -6:30PM), and fewer days off. This is a huge plus for people who work at Texas Medical Center. We knew that this particular location does not take older kids (3 years and up). If we had to do it again, we will still choose Primrose at Greenway Plaza over others.

She ruined my daughter's day because she told her about her bad negative experiences in life and held her for 7 minutes telling her more and more of how hard and bad her life is while sitting at her desk, texting on her phone while at work and sipping from her coffee. My daughter was in a hurry to pick up my younger daughter who's enrolled here with the learning experience. She didn't make her feel comfortable at all and unwelcome. We have had such a positive journey here--both of my children have truly thrived and have loved being part of such a warm, caring environment. The teachers go above and beyond every single day, and it's clear how much they genuinely care about the kids. My children have been incredibly well prepared for kindergarten--not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. The curriculum strikes a great balance, and the staff does such an amazing job meeting each child where they are. For example, my son has a strong interest and talent in math, and his teachers gave him work that matched his skill level, which kept him both challenged and engaged. Every teacher we've had the pleasure of working with has been wonderful, supportive, and dedicated.
