But since February, I have had to depend on CT Transit. Recommendation: Get to the bus stop at least 5 minutes early. My morning bus is consistently 4 minutes early. Don't panic if it's late. It happens. And the driver is rarely at fault. There could be difficult passengers, traffic issues, road closures, detours, etc. Do I want to ride the bus? No. As soon as I can afford a car, no more bus for me. But while I need it, I sure am glad it's there to get me where I need to go.

They are also always late going up that area in the noontime then you see all the Hamden: Brookside buses in multiples and triple back to back. The suburbs with the exception of New Haven has to rely heavily on CTRail who need later services to Hartford because the Amtrak coverage for late times are horrendous and always late having issues the transportation system is CT sucks and has gotten worse especially since Covid

Typically in the morning the buses are more on time--afternoon buses going from New Haven towards Hamden are NEVER on time. Do not trust the schedule. Some of the bus drivers are very nice; some of them are meh--this I don't care about too much. More irritatingly, I've had buses pass me (on the opposite side of the road where the stop was), have them go off route (resulting in my having to wait yet another 30 minutes for the next bus), and even had a bus driver force me off the bus at a random street because she didn't want to finish the route, and proceeded to drive down a different street in a random direction. There is an interesting underground path that takes you to the main station. It is a very small station compared to others in New York City or Philly. There was a small gift shop and a Dunkin Donuts which had a large line. Outside there was a crowd of people waiting for an Uber or the local bus to downtown. It cost about $20 each way from the city. It was only my first time in New Haven so I didn't know what to compare it to. It was a cloudy rainy day so everyone seemed miserable. I would have to come back here on a sunny day to see if there is a difference.

My only disappointment was on the ride home, some kids snuck on the train and sat in a couple open seats where tickets had already been punched. They only rode for a couple of stops, but it was still quite dishonest. I feel like there should be a protocol for riders to take their tickets as they leave to keep this from being able to occur.

I arrived to the station about 15 minutes before my scheduled department and immediately found parking right in front of the station. I was able to purchase my tickets at the ticket machine and waited for the train. The train arrived 3 minutes ahead of schedule and the ride to Grand Central was quick with only two stops. The whole process was easy and cost efficient. I will definitely be using this station again.

My friend found My Taxi LLC and we made arrangements with them to meet us at the station. Everyone at My Taxi was extremely nice. They were accommodating, prompt and very helpful. Their cars are clean, super comfortable and well maintained. While on the train, my cell connection dropped as we were confirming pickup time. My Taxi immediately called me back, before I was able to reach them! All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I am grateful to My Taxi for making the last part of our trip so pleasant. I won't hesitate to call them again when I travel to New Haven, Meriden or the surrounding area.
