Place is super dirty and the food was ok, not really Greek especially the chicken souvlaki. The Greek chicken soup is what other reviews state water with some seasoning added. The pricing is also super expensive -$22 for a souvlaki meal and $20 for the sandwich?? Makes no sense...

This was honestly one of the best falafel sandwiches I've ever had! I'm so glad my original plan fell through when Pure Green (a smoothie spot) was closed--I ended up here instead and couldn't be happier. I'll definitely be back!

    Falafel Plate was delicious

Loved this Greek restaurant. The waitress was wonderful and so helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the Greek salad and I had the Greek soup for starters then the falafel plate to share. The portions are pretty big so I had some leftovers for my lunch the next day. It's a cute restaurant and I'm very clean .

Had a craving for a Greek Salad and walked in and lo and behold the Greek Salad was advertised at the register as their "Today's Special"....no brainer for me. Only $12.75. Comes with a side of pita and tzatziki sauce as well. In the immortal words of the Terminator....I'll be back!

Wow! I stopped by here tonight and I am pleasantly impressed! I recently moved up here and this place has been on my list of places to try. I got the Shish Kebab (Lamb) entree and lemme tell you, the flavor is amazing. The portion size is also more than I was expecting for $22. I'll definitely have some leftovers for tomorrow which I'm excited about. I will definitely be back to try other items! :)

Oh yes. Steak fries! Delicious and cooked perfectly! These are so hard to find and were yummy.

Overall 4.5. Just good Greek food. I ordered take out. This is a very casual place in a strip mall with some outdoor seating (in the shade). Very friendly and helpful staff. Simple decor but what I liked best was the Greek music playing in the background- nice touch, nice ambiance. My baseline for Greek food is Greek town in Chicago. Ordered two items: chicken kabob and gryo sandwich. Both meals came with soup, rice or fries and a small salad. Everything was cooked fresh. The chicken was fantastic - had some nice char marks but was still tender and not dried out. The gyro could have had a little more fire on it but this is the real deal. Served with tomatoes and onions which is standard (thank you) and the tomatoes actually tasted like tomatoes! The tzatziki sauce- good and what I loved is the amount of dill they use. Could use a hint more of garlic though (not too much more!). What really pleased me was the fries! They call them Greek fries but they were steak fries and those are hard to find. Thick with a nice crisp on the outside. So good!!! Perfect for dipping in the tzatziki sauce. A little over salted though- next time I'll ask they do not salt so I can do so to preference. My only negative was the soup. They advertise it as chicken lemon and I was hoping for some version of the classic Avgolemeno (if you know, you know). Unfortunately this wasn't anything close to Avgolemeno nor chicken lemon. No pieces of chicken and a spice I didn't not recognize. Zero lemon flavor. Wasn't a fan but others might like. If the owner is Greek- please consider the classic recipe! Happy to find this place. Prices were ok but you got generous portions and that made me feel that I received value for the price. Oh, and they have a nice collection of Greek wines too. I recommend this place. I'm looking forward to exploring the menu ! Lastly- this is nice t affiliated with the Greek corner restaurant in Rancho Bernardo and that's a good thing. This place is better!

    Greek Salad

Had been craving greek salad so my boyfriend and I stopped by. Safe to say that this is our new favorite place! The portions are huge and everything is very well priced. I got the greek salad and added gyro for only $3 extra, and my boyfriend got the surf and turf kebab entree. We also went a second time the week after. I got the same and he tried the moussaka and loved it! Both his entrees came with a choice of lemon chicken or lentil soup, as well as greek salad for starters. My salad came with a pita basket and tzatziki which I always love. We have yet to try the baklava since they had run out when we went. Definitely wanna try their gyro sandwich if we go earlier in the day since it's only an option for lunch.

Roasted Chicken Lunch Special tried to charge us $16.50 for this but labeled as $12.75 in menu
    Bridget B.

Food was yummy but they tried to charge us $16.50 for the lunch special which was actually $12.75. When we went to pay, we mentioned the "error" on the receipt and she corrected the charge to $12.75 like the menu states. It seemed like they tried to pull a fast one because she didn't really react. Sadly we won't be back because of this, it doesn't look good to try to rip-off your customers. Also the service was off-putting. Plenty of other small businesses in the area to get food from.

    Greek salad with chicken

The food here is great, my favorites are the souvlaki kebab, chicken salad, and the flaming cheese which is so good and fun to see lit up on fire! Someone on here mentioned the pita wraps missing from the menu, but there are two different menus (lunch/dinner). They aren't on the dinner menu physically, but you can still order them for the same price:) it's a great place to eat, while still feeling like a home cooked meal+ pretty healthy.

I just tried calling, but no one answers the phone. Are they actually open now? The Yelp site says "no takeout", but there is outdoor seating? Thanks, Lynn

The restaurant closed permanently. The restaurant did not have outdoor seating. During the pandemic, the restaurant was takeout only.

    How's the falafel?

I don't know. Isn't falafel Arabic food? Anyway, this restaurant has good Greek food with large portions. I recommend the gyro sandwich and fries.

I ended up about three blocks away in a residential area on a busy Saturday night. The cozy atmosphere is warm and comfortable. The staff does a good job weaving among the six tables in the dining room and six on the patio. Conversations are tougher inside. This is a natural wine bar, so some classiciists might not like the styles. Little Victory has a jammed, two-sided wine list (red and white) in incredibly small type. Natural wines often look and taste distinct from conventional bottles. They are frequently unfiltered and unfined, leaving them slightly cloudy with sediment. Expect vibrant acidity and complex flavor profiles that lean toward the earthy, savory. Bottle variation is common. Off-flavors and aromes include mousiness, excess volatile acidity (vinegar notes), or Brettanomyces (wet cardboard). Our waitress was patient and let us taste five whites, which were too funky for most of us (not fruit-driven noses and palates like most California wines). I settled on the Austrian 2024 Wurzinger Grüner Veltliner Früg, $17 BTG. It was cloudy, with some lime, floral, and yeasty nose; tight acids; and a tart finish. We did enjoy a fruity, balanced 2021 Viticultor Goyo Garcia Viadero Joven de Viejas Viñas, Ribera del Duero ($72 bottle; $25 at retail); and a good Temecula red blend, 2023 Lost Ranch Winery Moonshadow (53% Nero d'Avola; 47% Syrah; $17 by the glass). For appetizers, the four of us shared the olives ($8), bread and butter plate ($9), cheese platter ($18), and beef tartare ($25). Other things we shared were the local catch, $33; roasted octopus, $31; and the peach and fennel salad, $22. The octopus drew the most raves. The catch was a bit dry. Service was friendly, very helpful and responsive to our questions about the wines and the different dishes on the menu. The food runners were timely in bringing out our different dishes. Little Victory should do well in this bustling foodie town.

Paon is truly a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Carlsbad Boulevard. The entrance leads to a nicely appointed outdoor patio with plenty of tables and heating lamps for those chilly evenings. Our waitress was very attentive, knowledge of the menu, and provided great insight on the wine list which helped us in making the right selection to accompany our meal.
