Tried Corner Grill in Vista today and had such a good experience. I ordered the koobideh and chicken combo plate and both were delicious. It came with safron basmati rice and a side salad. The dressing was AMAZING! Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The portions were great too and made for such a satisfying meal. Also have to mention the service because the man who took my order was seriously the sweetest. He was so welcoming and kind and made the experience even better. I used to get the salmon here all the time and it was buttery and soft. Recently I went and the salmon was dry and looked smaller than usual. It felt like small pieces of salmon on top of a huge bed of rice. The salad was packaged seperately. The service is always friendly and the sit down area is no frills but spacious. Cute little restaurant and small specialty grocery-ish shop! Came in for a late lunch and snagged the salmon plate with rice and salad and oh my it was delicious. Salmon crisped to perfection, even my two year old couldn't get enough. Portion sizing was large for the price and rice and salad were fresh. We also ended up taking home some ice cream- pistachio saffron and pomegranate chocolate chunk and will def be going back for that! This cute Mediterranean restaurant is tucked away in the back corner of a moderately busy strip mall. Hence, the name Corner Grill. They have a cute outdoor patio with string lighting. Inside, there is one booth and a few tables. The aroma of Mediterranean food was enticing while I waited to pay for my takeout. The portions were big. Our entire order was delicious. The kabobs here were great, very classic and authentic on a bed of rice with salad. The meat was cooked very well, I got the mixed plate and both the chicken and beef were good. Taziki and salad dressings were great but the little side isn't enough for sauce queens like me so I'd recommend ordering extra if you like side sauces with your kabobs. Best basmati rice I've ever had. The lamb kabob is also fantastic. The place is nice, clean, and easy going. They have a good selection of dips to take home with your pita bread, and the desserts (try the honey cake) are amazing. We went for a late lunch, about 2:00, and there was plenty of seating inside and out. read more

I think the salad dressing here is delicious. Rice is good, but their proteins are only decent. I've tried their chicken and beef and I didn't find them particularly good or bad. I thought the beef is lacking a little bit in flavor and a bit dry. My girlfriend loves the chicken here. I found it a bit bland and dry too, but she swears by it. The owner is a very, very kind and generous man. He treats you like family when you dine here. He's very (understandably) protective over his salad dressing recipe. I tried to ask so I can make it at home but it was a no go! After eight years of going to this corner gem it's still one of my favorite local places! Hamed still runs it but this restaurant it's no longer an international market. I do miss picking up certain items that were available pre~pandemic and inflation time. Now the restaurant floor has dine in tables and also outdoor patio seating available. It's kept clean and tidy. My go to is the Koobideh with Rice and Salad. It has a grilled tomato too and if they have it available I like to request to have the grilled onion halves as well. If dining there I like having the Darjeeling tea to start. Otherwise I order takeout from time to time. If I send one of my family members to get me something I usually try and have them get me some side item that I've never tried before. Last time I believe it was the mint yogurt drink. One lady that works there seems to not speak English very well but understands enough to get by. Plan dinner ahead of time because they do have specific closing times. Sometimes I've a craving for it when they are already closed. Yet I'm not mad because they still are here up and running. Check them out if you haven't already! I work close by and my coworker suggested Corner Grill for lunch. I went with gyros and it was pretty good. The think the price was slightly higher when we went in to pick up, like $1-2 more than what was listed. Honestly still a good deal for how much food I received. The meal was so tender and cut easily with a plastic fork. It was seasoned and cooked well. The salad and tzatziki dressing were so fresh. I'll definitely be back for lunch sometime! Yeah, pretty good stuff here. Very modest 'deli-like' setting but hugely popular. We were there for a rather busy Tuesday lunch crowd. We got there just at the beginning of the rush, yet I watched plates come flying out of the back soon after arriving. We were told "give me 10 minutes" and our 'best ever tasted' hummus came out only 1 minute late, then the very good Kabob entrees came just 3 minutes after that. The chicken breast Kabob was seasoned and cooked perfectly moist, something not commonly found at many/most kabob houses. The good lamb kabob chunks worked well with the grilled red onions and bell peppers however neither of the plates came with the aforementioned hummus and pita. All drinks are bottled/canned from the fridge, unless you want tap from the back. "I'll have the bottle", I said to one of the two or three working the place as they all seemed to show out front at different times. Service was friendly and hospitable after ordering at the counter and finding any available seat. And, they knew where every plate went without numbers on the tables or names being called. Outside tables looked to be popular and a nice area, however we didn't venture out in this day after the recent rain here in North County. Plates and servings were adequate and the plate's rice and 'built on the plate' salad were plentiful, and the bright and flavorful dill dressing filled up the voids. Also, along with the plates, they served an outstanding yogurt and vegetable dressing for dipping. Where have these guys been hiding? Great spot here in the North County.
