I absolutely love gyros and this place is within walking distance from my house...thought I'd take a study break from Starbucks and grab lunch. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered a kids meal combo of the traditional gyro. The girl taking my ordered stated the kid meal just contains less meat. Perfect! THIS GYRO WAS HUGE!! I got more meat and fillings than when I get normal portions at other restaurants and the large scoop of fries on the side...I couldn't even finish it...wondering if actual children can eat the whole thing...anyways! The portions are generous and I saw many of the plates of entrees being just as hearty. The service is great, restaurant is clean (unlike many of my favorite hole-in-the-wall gyro joints), and food was delicious! The second time I came, the gyro beef/lamb was a way too salty (I noticed the chef was a female; last time I came it was a male) but again the kids meal was ginormous. Wow! What a treat? Ordered online and it was quick. Does take about 40-50minutes for your food to be ready. So my hubby goes in to pick up our food. He comes out and they're missing some items from what I ordered. That's why the 4 stars. Glad we didn't leave the lot. We would've had to drive back. They were nice about it. Place is clean. Mediterranean food has a reputation for being healthy. When you combine that with reasonable prices and large portions, you basically have the kind of restaurant where I could eat every day. Throw in a convenient location, and the result is five stars well deserved. I normally come here for their larger dishes like the combo plate and gyro plate. In either case, there is such a wonderful balance of rice, meat, and vegetables that I don't even feel bad about not cooking anymore. They also tend to include fairly large cups of hummus to ensure that I'm getting my money's worth. Not the world's fanciest dining occasion, but it doesn't have to be. All I'm concerned about is getting a quick and easy meal that doesn't make me worry about my diet. read more

Was running errands and was getting hungry, so I stopped in to give it a try. Improved a lot since my last review! Packed for lunch. I happened to be visiting from Washington DC when I heard a previous customer calling management to complain about everything! This was craziness. The staff was very polite. Very patient answering questions. I gave five stars because I'm totally sick of Greek places serving premade canned Dolmas and calling it Greek food. The MEAT DOLMAS gave me life. I went to Greek Express last week and their food was amazing. I went there today 3-30-2020 for lunch and it was horrible. The spanakopita was put into a microwave and then put on the flat top. It was soggy and not good. The chicken gyro that I got had brown wilted lettuce, tomatoes that should have been thrown out last week, dried out chicken and the pita was soggy. It was almost like the gyro was made last week and forgotten about and given out to me today. I highly doubt I will be going back there any time soon. read more

Wandered into this place by accident one day a while back and now go out of my way to come back. They offer a good amount of food for a very reasonable price, the hummus is delicious and dreamy, the pitas are warm and fluffy, and the service is always great! The food here is really good! It's a casual establishment where you order and pay first at the counter, then have your food brought out when it's ready. I had the Combo Plate, which came with some pita bread, a large dollop of hummus, salad, chicken, gyro meat (beef and lamb), and rice, with a side of tzatziki sauce. For $10.50, this was a very generous amount of food and I had enough for lunch the day afterwards. The chicken tasted a little bit burnt (you can see in my photo how the skewer ends are black), but everything else was delicious. I especially loved the gyro meat, it was well seasoned and a perfect level of tender but slightly crispy. For gyro meat fans, Greek Express offers a "Chicago style" gyro, which has extra meat instead of veggies. There isn't a huge amount of seating inside, but there are a few tables outside for if the weather is nice. Greek Express is located in a large shopping center, so finding parking shouldn't be a problem. read more

Kukai was wayyy too busy for lunch today (rainy day in Seattle; how typical) so I hopped over to this place for convenience & funsies. Not bad! I ordered after one other guy; got the traditional gyro w/ a salad combo. Lady in the front looks more intimidating than customer service oriented but I'll let that slide since I didn't have that many problems (she assumed I said fries when I clearly asked for salad.. hmm if only fries were healthy...) but anywoo-- Man, they weren't kidding when they called this place "Greek Express"... it came out FAST! Like... Pho fast! Well, I guess the price for that comes at the expense of the meat; kinda dry but passible (probably sat there for a long time); seasoned well/kinda salty. Lots of sauce.. almost too much but it's OK. Salad was surprisingly decent; the tomato & cucumber chunks were very FRESH! That gave it a nice touch. The only real negative is that the falafel is undercooked on the inside whenever the older gentleman who works there isn't present (when he's there it's just right though for some reason). Do not go here! Unsanitary and rude! I have been to this location several times and had fairly good experiences. Today was horrific. I placed my order at 10:45 and it said it would be ready at 11:15. I called to give them specific instructions and a friendly Spanish lady did not understand me and told me to call back at 11 o'clock. I kept calling until 11:20 and a gentleman finally answered and I explained to him that I needed things in separate bags because I was delivering food to the elderly. I asked him how long before it would be ready he said he would call me. I told him I was in the parking lot. He had the food ready in 10 minutes. I was horrified when I walked in there to see that the place was dark, none of them were wearing gloves or masks. I called back this afternoon to kindly explain my concerns. He said that's not his problem. I asked to see if I could speak to a manager and he said again " That's not my problem" and hung up on me. I am pretty sure it was the owner or manager that I spoke to at 11:20 AM. He had the exact same accent. Update: It was very nice that the manager called me. He said that they do have proper sanitation, masks and gloves they were just running late and I was the first customer of the day. He also apologized for his employees behavior of saying "it's not my problem" and hanging up on me. I added a star for that customer service. read more

I dined in last week for the first time and found the food to be really good and simple. It's a pleasant dining area (nothing fancy, but comfortable) and diners can grab their own water and condiments as needed. I ordered the falafel platter (I'm vegetarian) and asked to substitute tabouleh salad for the house salad that would normally come on the plate - my request was granted, no issue or extra charge. My partner ordered the chicken plate, which comes with almost exactly the same food. Both had a large portion of rice, protein, fresh pita, salad/tabouleh, hummus, and dipping sauces. The food tasted nice and fresh. I loved the falafel (wasn't dry or too dense). Only thing I can complain about is that I've had better tabouleh elsewhere, but it was still yummy and a nice fresh side to have with the meal. read more

This place is growing on me. After my first visit and the need for more gyros, I think that this is the place closest to my office. Both times that I have come in the last month, I have gotten the Traditional Gyro with Fries/Drink Combo. It is about 10$ (with two sides of Tzatziki sauce). Not bad since I usually cannot finish either item in one sitting. The staff has always been nice and the service pretty fast. There are usually people in there eating already, so that is a good sign. I tend to come after 1 pm, as I imagine that the crowd (if there was one), would be gone. It usually is. I will return... maybe to try a salad or soup. But the gyros are pretty tasty! read more

Very good Gyros and mainstream Greek food! You can sit down and relax with tea, a beer, or a glass of wine and linger or grab your food and go. The gyros are warm, meaty, and flavorful - and made to order. The Shawarma is just how you'd expect - meaty, salty, delicious. It's nothing that I'd call spectacular or out of the ordinary, but the food divers on its promises. They do have some cool fusion things on the menu, like a Chicago Style Gyro, and cold Gyro Combos. You can basically have anything vegetarian, and they serve fries with different combos. Plus, the run-of-the-mill Greek platters are plenty tasty. All in all, what you see is what you get. It's not incredible, but it's very tasty and saucy and salty and good. They don't skimp on the meat, but you do pay for it. NOTE - check that you have everything you ordered before you leave with your food. The first time I was there, I had missing extra sauce that I paid for, as well as extra meat. read more

Ok, if Kukai Ramen next door is busy with activity, getting Greek Food is not a bad bet. I got the falafel plate combo - good amount of food, actually, it was a bit much for me to finish in a single sitting. Reheated everything in a toaster oven, works well as dinner. Reasonably priced, and the food tasted delicious. Also, the person managing the front counter when I was visiting, I think is the owner. In any event - really great customer service. The seating arrangements in here are bit oddly configured, not organized well for efficient use of space in my opinion. So it can be a bit crowded. They could use another person as busser to help clean the tables - or have a sign to instruct everyone to bus their own tables. In any event, I'll be back here again if I'm in the mood for Greek food. read more

We stopped by here for a quick dinner on our way to a movie at Crossroads. I was glad the food came out promptly, because we were pushing it a bit time-wise. This is the sort of place where you order and pay at the counter, and then sit down and wait for them to bring out your food. "Fast-casual" if you will. We got the falafel plate and the spanakopita plate for two of us to share. It was a lot of food! The falafel plate, in particular, came with 4 patties, large scoop of rice, large scoop of hummus, large scoop of baba ghanoush, and salad. The flat pita bread was warm, soft and delicious. I wish I had ordered extra bread because there wasn't enough to eat with the two dips and the falafel. The spanakopita plate just came with a healthy portion of spanakopita, and a large salad. The highlights for us were the spanakopita, the falafel and the baba ghanoush. The falafel was easily some of the best I have had in the Seattle area. Same thing with the spanakopita. I've never been a big fan of baba ghanoush, but the Greek Express version of the dip was very luscious and smoky. The salad was fine, very fresh, typical Greek Salad. The only thing I didn't fancy was the hummus, because I prefer a looser version, more of a dip, heavier on the tahini and lighter on the chickpeas. This one was a little thick and heavy for my taste. But my dining partner liked the hummus. We really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere...well, it was clean, but not relaxing. It has kind of a cafeteria feel. I'd say it makes a really great lunch destination, but I don't know if I would return for dinner. read more

The food is great... the portions are great.. both get 4 stars easy. That service, though. My trio come in every two weeks or so for dinner and yogurt next door. The woman we always see behind the counter is generally a little chilly, but never unprofessional or impolite... which is completely acceptable in a business where they stay busy, and food comes quick and delicious. So far, 4.5 stars. The two stars come from our visit last night, which was facilitated by a different woman at the counter. The restaurant participates in an app that tracks purchases across multiple retailers and provides rewards. After 10 entree purchases, we used a reward that claimed to offer 1 free entree after 10 entree purchases. That's it. No fine print anywhere. We call a pickup order for a Lamb Kabob plate (an entree, $12.99) and 2 small salads ($4.99, each), and when I arrive, I request to add a piece of baklava ($2.99) to the order, and I thought I saw the baklava go into the bag.. I am given the total of $28 and change after tax. I show her the reward app, and wait to hear a revised total of $14.27 due to the lamb entree being free. She tells me "New total is $23." When I ask about the math, she tells me "there's a weird rule where we have to take the cheapest thing off, you know what I mean?" No, I do not know what you mean. The reward states entree, and I don't think I am out of line to think that entree refers to a plate with a few items on it, like the lamb kebob plate, and not a small salad. In the event that I was in the wrong, when she told me their rules, I let her know that I wanted to 'unredeem' the reward points that had been used (I still planned on paying for the food we ordered, I just didnt think the reward was worth it). She started pressing buttons, and then said it would just be easier to give me the lamb plate, at which point I politely said thank you, and got the new total of $14, which I paid, as well as adding in tip. She turns around, has a conversation I'm not part of of, and starts shuffling things in and out of my bag. I get handed the bag, and in the middle of my "thank you", she turns away and moves on to the next customer. I get home, and we enjoy almost all of the food. I bet that the baklava would have tasted pretty good, if she didn't take it out of the bag before handing my the order. I don't know that it was on purpose, and I do know that I should have confirmed everything before leaving, but I think we'll be driving further into Bellevue to find kebab without the unpleasantness. read more
