You order at the counter then someone brings you the food. It's a small restaurant. While I was there, it went through waves of people. You could spot the regulars. I didn't order dessert but my friends did. Wow! Delicious and soft and sweet. I had to order it to go for my mom. I didn't give it five stars because as a manual wheelchair user, I didn't feel safe. Hello everyone! Happy to report that the Greek House Kitchen is still very good and definitely worth visiting or ordering take out. As expected the food was excellent and the owner and his staff were very nice and attentive as well. On this occasion we had the Grilled Octopus, the Lamp Chops with Rice and Lemon Potatoes; also, the Gyro Platter. As an appetizer we also ordered the Tzatziki with Toasted Pita which was awesome. All food items were fresh and delicious! While we were their a few others walked in to eat in but we did notice a steady flow of takeout orders coming in while we were their so it seems that others are really enjoying having this Greek restaurant in our area which is awesome. I think the fact that they survived the pandemic is a testament to the fact that they provide excellent food and service to their customers. Now they are a little pricey but hey no issues in paying a little more for some good Greek food. Feel free to check them out if you are in the are as I don't think you will be disappointed. Greek house kitchen is okay I guess... It is a fast food concept restaurant. You order at the counter and then they take the food to your table. Plates and utensils are plastic and fountain drinks are self service. Having said that, they have healthy food options. Like greek salad, grilled octopus and some additional salads that I didn't get to try... but looked good. The grilled octopus is lemony and has a nice charred crust. I also ordered the lamb souvlaki (skewerd lamb meat) and that comes with your choice of a side dish which I picked the greek fries. (Just okay) Chicken souvlaki was also okay. Soooooo happy we have this place up the street to go to!!! They up just days ago and when I saw the menu online I knew I had to try it!!! They had a few greek dishes that I dont normally see in the greek restaurants that I have been to so my adventurous just had to check them out. The place is not big. You can eat in or take out. They try to do table service at night or you can just order at the counter. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. I knew that ordering the entire menu was going to be out of the question no matter how tempted I was. I decided on fried smelts, Kefredes which are greek meatballs, Gigantes and lemon potatoes. My honey ordered the falafel platter. Remember the place is new and they are learning as they go not to mention they make everything fresh to order so the service is going to be a bit slow and the food will come out as it's ready but I will tell you that your patience will be rewarded. Gigantes are these giant lima beans in a tomato sauce. I love the tangy tomato and herb sauce and the pita that it comes with is soft yet chewy. So good. When the greek meatballs came out I held my breath as I cut into it, praying that the would not be like hockey pucks. Omg they were so good and tender yet with a really nice crust. The lemon potatoes were just alright. The smelts were yummy just needed some hot sauce to go with it. I had a bite of the falafel my BF ordered. This gem of a Greek restaurant in Palmetto Bay has been open only for about 3 months and they're doing it right! I ordered the American Gi-row, gear-o, gyro (so now I know...it's really pronounced yeero). I was today years old when I realized the original Greek gyro is actually made with pork and not lamb! Either way the American gyro hit the spot...it was fresh and full of flavor! Next time I'm here I'll try the Greek gyro (made with pork). Don't forget to try the Greek coffee and dessert. The Greek coffee is similar to Cuban coffee or regular espresso but something (maybe the fine coffee grounds and sugar settled at the bottom of the cup) tells me this might be a lot stronger. I didn't notice at first but the AC was definitely broken. I ordered the shrimp souvlaki plate and the Greek gyros plate. The waitress brought out one meal and then told me she had to just now start my plate because shrimp had to go on the grill alone. So I had already to wait 15-20 mins for one plate then another 15 for mines. The rice wasn't cooked fully but still very flavorful and the shrimp in my opinion was over over cooked. I was very excited about this new spot in town. I came in for lunch on Wednesday and was surprised with how many options this tiny restaurant has on their menu. Our hummus came out and it was very good, but the Pita was mind blowing! I'm starting to wonder if I've ever had good pita before this because it was the lightest, and fluffiest pita I've ever had.
