I had previously stopped by Greek Island Diner to pick up soup for a sick friend, and after that experience, we decided to come back for an early Friday dinner. Wow, we were seriously impressed. Parking was easy with plenty of space, the diner itself was spotless, and the interior was bright and welcoming. The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in, and we were seated right away with no wait. Edgar took care of us and was fantastic. He was super friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming (and yes, "took care of us" feels more accurate than "waited on us"). We started with two soups: beef barley and lentil. Both were absolutely delicious, comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Of course, I had to try the mozzarella sticks, and they did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked, and the marinara sauce was thick, tasty, and not watery at all. For our entrees, we ordered the Philly cheesesteak melt and a beef/gyro panini. The portions were generous, and the flavor was even better than expected. Even when we were full halfway through, we still wanted to keep eating because they were just that good. We couldn't leave without dessert after walking past the display on the way in which showed so many options. We went with the chocolate layer cake, and holy moly. The slice was massive (looked like half a cake) and absolutely amazing. We couldn't finish it, probably should've skipped the fries , but it was hands down one of the best cakes we've had in a long time. Overall, an excellent diner experience from start to finish. One of the better diners in the area. A guarantee decent meal and the service is good. The place is very clean and the workers are super attentive. Came here for breakfast a little while back and still the friendly service as the other times we've visited over the years! It's a standard breakfast menu with reasonable prices and we'll likely come again. I got excited when I saw avocado toast on the menu, but I do wish they could make this dish do a little more. I ordered it without the onions and merely received some chunks of avocado on a piece of toast, which was very bland. Pieces of onion wouldn't make it much better. There were no seasonings or a mash of avocado blended with something else for added flavor (usually a mash of avocado is what people are expecting for avocado toast). There are so many other creative and delicious things to do with the taste and texture of an avocado toast that I hope they add to this dish sometime soon to make it even more special! read more

Flew back home for my grandmother's funeral who was laid to rest down the block from this place although the military cemetery. So afterwards my family and I gathered for an early dinner. Came in about 15 strong. But that did not stop Alexa from giving us great customer service! Everyone ordered something different. And man I'll tell you, we all loved our food. Food came out at a reasonable time which was great, the servers did an amazing job keeping our water and coffee cups filled and being as attentive as possible. I honestly can't say nothing negative about our experience with the customer service nor the food. The place itself was really nice, with plenty of plaza style parking. Now my family isn't from Long Island but whenever they or myself visit my grandmother, you best believe that this place is a must stop for us. Had the Kebabs from here after craving a taste of Astoria. The service was polite and the restaurant was clean. The kebabs were grilled well, and came with a large baked potato and fresh broccoli. While the order came with two portion sizes, a plus because I was able to share, I would have liked a better seasoned kebab as there were no seasoning. read more

I wasn't a huge fan of the food. I got an omelet with mushroom and onion and we'll done hash browns. The onions in my omelette were large and pretty much uncooked. Not really a fan of raw onions in my omelet so took more of them out. My hash browns were definitely well done but not seasoned. So had to add that salt. Tried some ketchup on my hashbrowns and even though the ketchup was in a Heinz it did not taste like it. Seems like it had the flavor of hot sauce. It's pretty hard to get breakfast wrong. What a wonderful combination of flavors! It was served with mixed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, and string beans all done to perfection). I asked for French fries and they were hot and crispy. My husband ordered Spartan Pasta. He asked for penne pasta. It came with sundried tomatoes, roasted peppers, olives, and spinach. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal also. I forgot the best part.
