We found ourselves way out east over the weekend, and realized we were an hour from home and should find someplace to have lunch. We asked Google Maps what is good and nearby. We were told that Watermark was five minutes away, and people liked it. We verified that in Yelp, and sure enough, let's go. This is not the sort of place you'd find by accident - on a minor coastal road and pretty much off by itself. The parking lot was so packed that we had to give up on it and park on the road. We were told that there would be a slight delay for a table, but seeing the enthusiastic crowd, we figured it might be worth it. It was. We got a really great roomy table, and our server was a gem. Looking back over the reviews here, we got their star quarterback in Connor, who sat down at a spare chair and talked to us about what to eat. Within two minutes, we were old friends. I'm a big fan of originality in menus, and they had it to spare. I ended up with the fried chicken sandwich and Donna had the Left Coast sandwich. Ham turkey and swiss on crainberry bread. They were both delicious and too much for one sitting. Connor even offered to wrap my mayo. The vibe was enthusiastic but not horribly loud, the food was unifromly great and the service was superior. We now have a go-to place in the Riverhead area.

I recently stayed in the area for a wedding and was looking for somewhere fun to get breakfast the next morning. This place had really good reviews, so decided to check it out. They had a lot of fun options, but I got the "ultimate pancakes", which had bananas and blueberries, and also ordered a side of bacon. The service was great and food came out quickly! The onlyyy thing I wish they had was flavored iced coffee, but I was happy with the orange juice instead, so it's not a huge deal. Would definitely come back!

November 17th 2024 - Fairly packed, so be prepared. We had reservation and arrived 7 minutes after 11 am opening and a little table work but had a good 4 top/hi top at the bar. Packed by the time we left!! Connor was simply world class waiter and the bus servers and the well played one defense from other servers was exceptional. Attentive but not pesky. The food was as expected terrific. As a hobbyist food critical, I reviewed over 30 restaurants for breakfast excellence in FL The classic eggs Benedict here would.habe been a top 5 finisher in Florida. And you can get it eight here in Long Island!!!! Eggs were textbook and perfect. Ham and muffin cooked.perfecy and arrived hot with exact amount of hollandaise sauce that was smooth and silky. Other breakfasts were also great. Multi grain bread great. On dish had some burnt pieces. No.biggy. the hash browns/potatoes, we a little cool / room temp, again just some attention of delivery or kitchen exit. Place is surgical operating room clean tableware, rest rooms, floors, tables, glassware...etc like.they opened yesterday!! Truly impressive.

    Short rib. Rice. Mixed veg.

We ate watermark salad to start and meatloaf and short ribs for entrees. The salad was wilted and the dressing was like a super sweet strawberry jelly. The short ribs and meatloaf were served hot, too much gravy on both, needed larger portion of veggies. Rice was boring-Tasted like microwave bag. Short ribs had good amount of fat and I could cut it without a fork. Meatloaf was soft and flavorful. The host was upbeat and friendly and our server was outstanding. He came down to our eye level to talk about the menu, make eye contact and check on us through out the meal. For dessert we had carrot cake. It tasted like a coffee shop muffin. Nothing special. Overall food was ok, but could be better especially with high priced menu. The staff was the best part of the restaurant.

First time we went there was a Saturday without reservations and they were able to sit us right away. However we went back on a Sunday lunch time and it was a 45 min wait so we left. Service was good. Food is ok. Ambiance is nice. Parking is a little difficult.

When I visit Long Island I like to go to a new place each time. This place is so good, I've gone twice! The food and drink menu have so many choices and the staff is amazing. Both times I've had no issues walking in for a table. Surrounding area is so beautiful as well!

We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer. It was very crispy but when shared between 5 hungry people, the portion size was not enough for us lol. We definitely should've ordered 2 of those. I ordered the monte cristo which was so so delicious! It came with a huge serving of sweet potato fries and the sandwich was drizzled with powdered sugar and syrup. The perfect balance of sweet and savory. One of the servers even commented how I had made a good choice in ordering it as it was a crowd favorite. The classic eggs Benedict, the hungry man omelette, and egg sandwich were the perfect portion. The home fries were very flavorful and crispy on the outside yet soft in the inside. Reasonably priced for brunch. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It does get loud inside as the tables are close to each other. There's parking available but it's definitely hard to find a spot when it's busy. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

Well it's Friday and I'm trying to reinstitute "Friday Date Night". Sometimes life get complicated and it's been awhile. Okay, let's see if Matt was right. First we look over the drink menu. I'm thinking if I can get enough booze into Mrs. E this might turn out to be a great date night. Review to follow. LOL Nothing jumps out at me but their Moctails look good, so I ask if they can add alcohol to it. Sure is the answer. Ok a little known fact. When Mrs. E has a drink her face turns bright red. With this drink, no change in complexion. I call our waiter over. C'mon man you have to work with me. He returns with two shots of liquor. Yes there it is, red face. Ok enough personal stuff. Next the food. We start with Baked clams. These were really good. Next we order entrees. Mrs. E has some kind of Chicken Kabobs. I don't really care I'm busy keeping an eye on her drink. I had the soy glazed salmon. Not really a fish guy but it's a long story and you've already heard too much personal stuff. Both meals good and I may start liking fish more. BTW, our waiter was Avery. Not sure about spelling but he was pretty good. All and all a good night and meal. So why 4 Stars? Although Avery was a good waiter, service was slow, very slow. Oh a side note, we were sitting near the bar and there was a woman/bar fly type over drinking and kind of being a spectacle. A little entertainment I guess. So will I go back. Yes we will. Oh the review of Mrs. E and the drinks. Hmmm I leave that for another time. Hey Matt N, I mostly agree with your review

Better late than never with this backdated review--life has just been lifing!…read moreI finally made it to Artemis on July 22nd after fiending to go since January. There's actually a hilarious story behind why I went. I was originally supposed to have a date that night, but let's be real: you'd think a 61-year-old man would know better than to take a 47-year-old woman to Dave & Buster's. I canceled the night before, dolled myself up the day of, and decided to take myself out instead. Best decision ever. The joint is dimly lit. But your eyes wind up adjusting. It's got a great vibe. Definitely excellent for a date night. The bartenders here are absolute rockstars. I started with a Painkiller. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they whipped it up for me anyway--and hey, it definitely relieved my pain, lol! Next, I tried a Corpse Reviver just because it had absinthe in it. It was different, but I really enjoyed it. Naturally, I had to finish with my signature drink, a Cosmopolitan, because I am the Black Carrie Bradshaw of Long Island. And it did not disappoint. The eats: I got the charcuterie board--fancy and bougie, just like me--and wrapped up the night with the brownie à la mode for dessert. Drowning my troubles in sweets is a must when the Long Island dating pool is an absolute wasteland, lmao. Did I want to spend my night around teenagers, kids, and skee-ball? HELL NO! I wanted a grown-and-sexy speakeasy vibe, and Artemis delivered. 5/5 stars--would 100% recommend!

My only complaint is the seating- it's a little packed, I felt like I was sitting on top of the people next to me yet far away from my date with a coffee table between us. Calamari was a bit more breading than squid then i'd like but it was tasty and not soggy. if you are looking for the fried stuff, the Po-boy with fries was a hit!
