This place is truly a blessing in the area - they're open late, have healthy (and vegan) options, friendly service and a great location near Fairfield and Hampton Inn and between Kingstown and Narragansett. I found my way here through a friend's recommendation after I was complaining because D'Angelo's changed their steak and cheese on a pita so much so that it's no longer good. I was so happy when I ordered the steak and cheese wrap which was the first one that I could find that was comparable to D'Angelos "old" steak and cheese but actually better. It also has fresh food and the pita stays intact. It was so good. I've been back many times now. They also have soup, veggie mixes and all kinds of other food to enjoy including regular sub rolls for your grinder if you don't want a pita. read more

Outdoor tables are covered in small greenish white bugs, may be aphids. They crawled all over us and our food. I felt disgusting after visiting g there and it ruined my meal, and my day. You need to treat it and keep it clean and check on it regularly. The wooden benches were the worst but they were on all the tables. read more

One star off because they mislabeled two of our sandwiches, which luckily I noticed before a gf person ate a glutenous wrap. It's been 7 years since my last review here. I have been here a TON of times since then. Pick pockets has fresh ingredients. A few things that we love ordering from here: The antipasto salad. It's huuuuge. It takes me 2 days to eat it all Kids love the gyros. He's in college. But he's still my kid. He likes the falafel too. Mom always steals one of them so he probably thinks only 5 come per order. Shhhh.... I tend to order the Pick Pocket. And for like 40¢ more you can add grilled chicken. Their pita bread is sooo good. The texture is perfect. Thin and chewy. Supermarket pita makes me sad. Their French fries are my favorite out of ANY WHERE ELSE on Westerly. Hubby likes the chicken Caesar salad And every single time we order from here we have to get 2 orders of the fried eggplant. Because we're adults and we can't share! It's just so good. And I'm going to say this-- their marina sauce is the fricken BEST marinara sauce I've ever had. Someone please prove me wrong and send me some sauce! Lol. I like that the owner always wants to make sure he makes eye contact with you. We keep coming back so he knows we love it here! Also our doggie gets grilled chicken from them. I've had three different wraps there: BLT, steak and cheese, and chicken pesto. All were absolutely delicious! Nice ratio of featured ingredients to veggies with good crunch. But then there are the fries. They are lightly spiced, but *super* salty. Just too much salt for me and I'm not one to complain about salt. They have three outdoor tables. I am obsessed with Gansett Wraps. Everything is so Fresh, so tasty and absolutely delicious. I always get the Beef Gyro falafel and add feta cheese, cucumbers and banana peppers. Every time - it is spot on. I think about these things all week long and could go every day if I allowed myself too. The falafel is some of the best I have ever had. If you are looking for a quick and delicious lunch option on the go, I suggest trying this place out. I prefer the one in Westerly over gansett but they are both great. read more

Went to the new Westerly location on Beach St, ordered the Gansett wrap which I've had numerous times at the old location on Granite St. When I bit into it, it was so smoldering hot, I burned my mouth and now I'm dealing with a very large, painful mouth blister. Buyer beware!! I bought a wrap this morning with cash and when I got home, I saw that my debit card was charged! This establishment apparently has an illegal scam going on where they can read your chip even if your credit card is not used- I called Westerly Police Department and I also spoke with them afterwards. Their staff was very rude and unhelpful- if you use or don't use a credit card with a chip on it, please check your banking - thank God I did! read more

Gansett Wraps has been very hit or miss for me. The first time was fresh & tasty; the last couple of times were disappointing. Tonight... the falafel is good, the chicken has good flavor but is rubbery and the wrap itself is tougher than plastic to bite in to. The French fries are perfect crispness but are loaded with so much salt it renders them inedible. I'm crushed... no idea where to get decent wraps now. read more

Agreed that it "doesn't look like much on the outside" but it does look like a newer location in a strip mall that is being upgraded. On the inside it is super clean and the staff is super friendly. I ordered online and picked up at the drive through window. Very convenient when I am working! I have been a customer for years and enjoy the variety of healthy Mediterranean choices! My favorite is the jumbo plate. It has Hummus, tabouleh, fatoosh served with your choice of grilled chicken, eggplant, falafel, gyro beef, or a mix. I have had all choices and are all tasty. Today I ordered the trio plate and a steak and cheese on a sub roll with no mushrooms. My son devoured it and saved the rest for later. The portions are perfect. My wife loves Pick Pockets and would give it 5 stars. Although I'm not a fan of Mediterranean food, I still liked it enough to give it 4 stars. You can see and taste that the ingredients they use are very fresh, and the portions are fairly generous. My wife and I split a grilled chicken falafel wrap, since she can't eat a full sandwich, and I had only a moderate appetite when we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. We also split an order of fresh fruit, and between that and the wrap, both our appetites and palates were fully satisfied. Prices are reasonable for such good quality. In addition to the wrap and fresh fruit, we each got drinks and dessert, for a total of just over $22. The narrow parking lot, which only has a few spaces, is too small for the volume of business they do, and the exterior of the building is rather pedestrian. It's much more inviting inside, with an earth-toned color scheme primarily consisting of dark brown hues. There are about 10 small tables in the very modest dining area, so many people opt to get their food to go. Despite the small size of the restaurant, there are two bathrooms toward the front. A large flat-screen television hung from the ceiling, but the sound was muted. Staff was friendly, and the place has a relaxed vibe that fits well with this beach community; in fact, many customers appear to have come from the beach. Our food was ready fairly quickly, so we sat down to eat. There were some minor annoyances, including a wobbly table, and a high-pitched whine, perhaps from the grill's ventilation system. Also, the young woman who made our grilled chicken falafel wrap didn't wrap it tight enough. Overall, however, we were pretty satisfied customers; the chicken was grilled to a perfect consistency. While the wrap was very good, I will say the baklava my wife got was excellent and 5-star worthy. It's a small square of rich, buttery pastry that you can get in one of two nut varieties (she ordered pistachio). I got a large chocolate chip cookie which was very good, but not as good as the baklava. Several years ago, there used to be a Pick Pockets in East Greenwich, but now, those of us who live in Kent County have to drive to South County (either Wakefield or Westerly) to get their Pick Pockets fix. While I wouldn't drive out of my way 20 or more miles to come here, I would definitely return if I was in the area already and wanted a meal with fresh, wholesome ingredients. read more

We just moved to the area and we wanted something quick while we work on our new house. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Wrap online and drove over to pick it up less than 10 minutes later. I didn't even have to get out of the car! They have a drive-through window you pull up to, tell them your name, they give you your order and you're good to go! It was so good! It's not so much a deli as it is an incognito Middle Eastern joint. Either way, it's a vacation staple for us. Food is great, and in generous portions but I think they can do better in two areas. The first is sandwich construction- lots of dressing and condiments make for very soggy sandwiches that fall apart with the first bite. The second is the kids menu- they have a grilled cheese, and they tell you it's on a pita, which makes it more of a quesadilla l. And there's nothing wrong with that because it takes good, you just have to remember to ask for it to be in regular bread if you want it that way. It's hard to believe Pick Pockets is a chain because or their high quality & excellent customer service. You might pay a little less at other chain sandwich places but you won't get the same quality. Pick Pockets veggies are always lively & fresh & their menu has something for the whole family. Their wraps are quite tasty & are a great alternative to the fast food restaurants in the area. The best part of this location is their pick up drive thru window. I always call my order in ahead of time & it's ready when i arrive. Plus their staff is also friendly & helpful. It's tough to screw up a sandwich but it's even tougher to delivery quality every time. Love this place! I can't go in for lunch with out taking home a bunch of sides as well for dinner. My go to (pictured) is the Crazy Veggie wrap with Falafel. The wraps are HUGE! Vegetarian chili makes the perfect side to save 1/2 the wrap for later. I usually get the small containers of hummus, falafel and tomatoes/cukes salad to have with dinner or lunch the next day. It is not easy to find food that is both delicious and vegan unless you are visiting Pick Pockets Deli. This is only our second time stopping here as we are day trippers to the RI shore. PPD is close to the beaches and picking up a sandwich could not be easier. In the car, on 95, we placed our order, and paid. Upon arrival we drove up to the window and were handed the bag. We got two wraps that were chuck full of fresh veggies, a tangy sauce and packed in a way that made them easy to eat at the beach. Westerly has so many great sandwich shops but not so many choices for vegans. We are so glad to have found this amazing deli! read more
