The service was genuinely amazing. Our server Petra took incredible care of us from start to finish--attentive, knowledgeable, and warm without being over-the-top. So, this place is good, you just need to be prepared. Went with some friends who've been here many times. I had the chicken souvlaki (which was super tasty) with a big piece of pita (fresh) and the herbed rice (also very tasty), as well as the very lemony potatoes, which was crisp and yes, lemony, but not too sour, just the right amount. We also got the honey balls, which were sort of churro-ish but balls. The place was also nice and clean (though a little too dark if, like me, you get there early and have to kill time before the rest of your party arrives, so you try to read, but can't), and the staff was helpful and friendly. So, what do you need to be prepared for? Well, they usually serve stuff family style. Because of this, things don't come out at all once. In our case, we got the pita a good 10-15 minutes before the chicken. But while this would normally be a blemish, it wasn't because not only did my friends tell me this would happen, but so did our server. Which is why I'll go again, especially since I now know what to expect. One last note: the place is in a strip mall, and while I had no problem finding a spot, my friends had to go elsewhere. read more

My friends and I went on a Thursday night at 6:00pm and found on-site parking easily. The interior is nice, the service was great. My only complaint is that the portions were pretty small. A group of four of us shared the Souvlaki party, the beet salad and the zucchini salad. After eating at so many middle Eastern restaurants in LA serving large portions, we were disappointed. Thankfully the waitress suggested we order a 2nd pita for $3 or we would have been even more hungry when we left. Greekmans is a solid, hole-in-the-wall vibe of a Mediterranean food spot in Silverlake. I've been here twice and had an opportunity to try a good chunk of their plates. The highlights for me are their souvlaki and lamb chops! This last visit my husband and I went together and got the souvlaki party, which comes with one of each of their 5 souvlaki, pickles, one piece of pita, and tzatziki and hummus for $48. We also got their cauliflower with spicy labne which was yummy and flavorful. We ended up needing an extra pita to finish the dips too. All in all, everything was yummy but I think it's a tad pricey for what you get. A solid option for an easy date night though, especially with the vibey ambience inside! read more

Food was tasty but the portions are small small small. It's served "family style" but we had 6 people and I think we each got a few bites, you need a ton of options to feed that many people. I'd say it's family style for two or three. We got about 7 dishes and it was still not enough. It's also very pricey for the size of the plates. As I said, the actual food was good my favorite was the lemony potatoes, just be prepared to either spend a lot or go with one other person. The overall experience was somewhat tainted by the ending, but this was just my experience. The salad with zucchini instead of lettuce was incredibly flavorful. I would highly recommend for anyone! We also got the "party" dish which included one of every skewer. My favorites were the chicken and the ribeye. The shrimp tasted like straight up charcoal, and the others were not my personal preference. The French fries and aioli were soooooooo good! The perfect complement to any dish on the menu. Where it went wrong -- we were wrapping up and asked if we wanted dessert and we said no. The check was immediately brought over and not five minutes later they whisked away every single plate. We definitely weren't finished eating or chatting and felt like we were completely pushed out. I have eaten at Greekman's and it was quite good, but this article is specifically about getting something on fucking Postmates. I live in Silver Lake (up the hill fairly near Greekman's) and when I'm lucky they're are a couple restaurants that take it seriously and want to deliver me an amazing meal Kismet consistently performs on this level Speranza used to Greekman's for the third time in a row now has been on that kryptonite. They deliver it perfectly, with appropriate items separated and at correct temperature and last time they forgot a sauce which is a bummer because you want sauces with Greek stuff and I don't take it out on the delivery person as it's not their fault but I put a note at this time. "Could you please give me the sauce" even though they charge separately. This time they read it and double sauced me so that during Coachella live streams had amazing hot Greek food. Got the octopus, the appetizer that has feta zucchini whatever else and the lamb burger and they were all incredible. During the stream it was just a perfect to not be there this week in the dust and commotion and to have this quality of food while still enjoying it. No notes, totally killed it on this delivery. 10/10 The chx was so tender, soft and seasoned to perfection (not pictured). We also ordered the oyster mushroom, potatoes, and the hummus with pita and market vegetables (these were pickled). The vibe is perfect for groups and or dates. The bar is full service and has a great wine menu. Restaurant is small and intimate. I was told this was THE place for Lamb Chops in Silver Lake and it's been around for a minute ! In side and outside seating . Lamb Chops, Octopus, zucchini chips, hummus w/warm pita and drinks (Cosmo w/ pomegranate juice) didn't disappoint. Server "Petra" was knowledgeable and patient- loved the wine suggestion. Yes there is a 4% surcharge and yes it's a little pricey (food). Cosmo's were $16 each (average price) but the Bartender was very easy on the eyes so hardly noticed the $$. Only gave 4 stars because: It's located in a small strip mall next to a Laundromat with only a few parking spaces so finding a spot even on the street is challenging. I decided to visit Greekman's for an early weekend dinner, and I had a great meal! I decided to sit outside, but there is bar and table seating indoor. They also offer a happy hour menu, and if you're not sitting at the bar you can ask for the happy hour menu when you're ordering between 5-6 PM. I ordered the hummus and pita with market vegetables along with the chicken souvlaki. I enjoyed the pickled vegetables and the smooth hummus along with the lightly salted and delicate pita slices. The chicken souvlaki was tasty though it was moderately sized. However, the two plates combined made for a satisfying dinner. I've been here twice, first time was great! Timely food, attentive servers and the food was great. I also love the outdoor seating area. My second time there, my partner and I had a reservation on Valentine's day. The food was incredibly slow, we did not get our first main until an hour after being seated. This was to be expected, but the servers were barely stopping by to offer water while we waited. When we got our first main, the waitress literally dropped it on our table while looking at another table she was talking to - didn't say a word to us. This was the grilled octopus, which we ordered because we loved it the first time we had it here! I was so disappointed to see they gave us a significantly smaller portion of octopus and sauce, compared to our first time there. It was also much saltier. Overall, our second visit was disappointing. I plan to steer clear during their busier times, and I hope they're more consistent with their serving sizes. read more

This is a cute little spot in Silverlake that has FREE parking. I think that in itself is sufficient reason to eat here. The restaurant is in an area with other small businesses, so the parking lot is shaded. Hopefully you have luck in snagging a spot when eating here! As for food, my friend and I enjoyed: - hummus and veggies: the hummus is very tasty but the pickled veggies are the true star of this app. Heavily spiced but very good! - fries: regular fries - oyster mushrooms: the mushrooms and the sauce were very delicious! - giganti beans: this actually kind of tasted like pizza. Lol! Not a bad thing! - grilled branzino: by this point, I think the above was enough for us so we didn't eat much of this and instead took it to go. Food is solid. Drinks are great. But $9 for a 12oz can of LA beer is just obnoxious, also not including the tip... so we're talking somewhere around 10.5 dollars for a can of beer. Stupid. The food here is so good, I think they could use a little bit of encouragement with regard to portion size on some things. For example, I got a side of fries with some friends and they were great! A little overly salty, but otherwise crunchy and fresh, with a very generous serving size. However, also got some pita and hummus, and I literally laughed when they brought the hummus out. Not exaggerating at all it was about a tablespoon. Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, hummus should be served generously as it is both inexpensive to make delicious to eat. A tablespoon was flat out insulting and cheap. That said, the entrées and appetizers were delicious. Salads are small and the hummus is small, but everything else seemed fair. I also don't mind slow service, but you have to occasionally check in, and you have to keep drinks from staying empty, at minimum. We ran out of drinks, the entire table, multiple times, water, alcohol, there was literally nothing and no one was checking in for 30 to 4o minute intervals. Even after we were done eating, we waited for about 40 minutes to get our check, it was pretty exhausting to be honest. Not a demanding table, not a condescending table, did not complain as all of us are in the retail industry. The complaints here are so easily avoidable that it really took away from the experience. And this place is not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for (for the most part). So an expensive meal with overpriced beer and a few small portions, with excruciatingly slow service stuck pretty hard. Especially waiting for the check, you cannot make customers wait idling for a half hour to give you money, that's ridiculous. read more

Delicious food, lovely ambiance inside and out (especially now that it's early summer -- sit outside and enjoy the patio!), and a warm and attentive staff. I love the various nonalcoholic drink options, and the plates are perfect for sharing. Skewers are just the right amount of charred (the oyster mushroom skewers are a must-order). The lemony potatoes and the prawns are major hits, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I know and love Greek Food and was excited to find this location listed on Resy. We sat outside as it was super loud with closely placed tables inside. The outdoor area had better table spacing and was less populated. Service was good overall and somewhat attentive. Tasty and delicious food! I hosted a dinner for my aunt and uncle who are very well traveled and sophisticated, and last minute my oven broke. I emailed an order last minute and requested rush preparation. Some of the items we ordered were steak, chicken, and shrimp skewers that were cooked perfectly. The lemon potatoes were a huge hit as were the fried zucchini. They provided ample sauces, although I thought the hummus was a bit bland. Our waitress twice took plates from our table that we had not finished. She also recommended 2-3 plates per person (we were a party of 4). We ordered 6 dishes total because we had had a late lunch and because we wanted to save room for dessert. In a bit of a salty tone, she told us we had not ordered enough. Alas, this used to be a fantastic restaurant with decent-sized portions. It has become a restaurant for ants. The $16 Village (Greek) Salad is so tiny that it's offensive--when we complained we were offered a 1x1" cube of "expensive" feta in a tiny dish in the biggest possible f**k you gesture from the waitress. None of the ingredients in Greek salad are expensive and the dish is so simple that a child could prepare it--there is no excuse for this shrinkflation practice. The side of hummus is a shockingly small portion as well, not even enough for three bites. The stubborn waitress had every opportunity to be friendly and accommodating, but instead chose to argue with us and condescend. There is also an unreasonable expectation of a tip on top of an included 18% service charge--not today, not ever! I will say that the quality of the food and drinks are great--the prices per portion and staff behavior are simply unacceptable though. After four visits with increasingly meager portions and higher prices, I cannot recommend Greekmans and will not return. read more
