Plentiful of indoor and outdoor seating. Dimmed ambiance and medium volume music, music I enjoyed. Everyone was very friendly. Drinks are strong. The malarkey margarita I got felt was mostly tequila with a little mix and lime. Open bar with lots of options. Brussel Sprouts were pretty oily, burnt and bland. You have to order and pay at the counter, then you get a number to bring to your table. 5 of us had salads (2 people had the beet and carrot salad with chicken, 1 had a cobb salad with chicken and I got the kale Caesar with steak. I also had an iced green tea, 2 people had the matcha latte that was a special. 1 person had the burger with fries. I was here for an event. The manager Monika came up to visit and check on everything. The menu for the event was limited, but man it was good. We had a charcuterie board and some little desserts. Days later, I am still thinking about that milk chocolate mousse!! Sooooo darn good!!! There was even a dedicated AV persons to help us. The room was set up perfectly with chairs and all the things, great for the business meeting we were having. Parking was easy. The first day in my new office this past June and saw that there was an (expensive) cafeteria/restaurant (since my company does not sponsor the food) that looking so neat and modern made me very happy. I loved the design, from the menu, to the mini vases with cute flowers from the farm (there is a farm in campus that belongs to them and they source some of the ingredients they use in their dishes from there) to the playful atmosphere. I have been frequenting this restaurant for 6 months now and is all good (except the price tag). I adore their burgers, that is my favorite to-go dish, although I have not disliked anything I have tried. This summer I got a superb gazpacho (source from the farm), very original taste and different from the Spanish one I am used to. There are happy hours and many corporate and meetup groups parties in there too. The coolest thing is how secluded and unknown this restaurant is, mostly because belongs to the Alexandria conglomerate of buildings and businesses and is located inside a corporate park not too much on the public light. read more

Enter Green Acre, whose convenient office park location and accommodating staff will slake your desire/need to day drink between client meetings. ;) While the official menu is a bit limited, food is at minimum decent (I recommend their small plates + big snacks over their sandwiches + wraps), and, more importantly, the bar is ready, willing, and able to get creative. The space, both outdoors and indoors, is huge and well-appointed, but my favorite place to perch is the back bar next to the game room. Very disappointing experience. Our team came here to celebrate the holidays. There were 20 of us. I was part of the group that organized the event and after the meeting at least six of my team members verbally complained about how poor the service was. We came on Wednesday, the (dark blonde female) worker there was very unfriendly from the start. She also seemed to be someone that was responsible for being helpful. However, she acted like any request was a burden. Scowled and muttered under her breath a bunch. Meanwhile, she's just sitting there chitchatting with her coworkers. I guess any work is too much work for her. And it's one thing having poor staff service, however, multiple of our fried chicken sandwiches were undercooked. And I mean very undercooked. Noticeably pink and cool inside. Gross. It would be one thing if one person was grumbling, but we received multiple complaints about how bad their food or staff friendliness was. That's very unfortunate. The upper leadership likely don't care but sadly, 20 people from local businesses nearby leaving quite unhappy with their eatery is not a good look. I'm a fan! I was tasked with finding a place for Happy Hour for work. I looked around on Yelp for a decent Happy Hour menu and ended up calling Green Acre Campus Pointe. They were able to accommodate a group of 14 of us with a reservation. According to their website, Green Acre Campus Pointe is managed by Dan Valerino and Joe Bower of Bottle Boon Consulting. The philosophy of Bottle Boon Consulting is to bring an adaptive model to restaurant management of constant innovation and creativity. At the time in mid-April 2022, Green Acre Campus Pointe was also open for Happy Hour on Thursdays and Fridays from 3PM to 6PM. Their normal hours are Monday through Friday from 8AM to 2PM. I got to try a whole bunch of items: - Cocktail (Grapefruit Commuter Car) - brandy, rum, cointreau, grapefruit, lemon, serrano simple syrup, and candied grapefruit - Patatas Bravas - fingerling potatoes, crispy garlic, calabrian chile aioli, garden herbs - Crispy Ham & Cheese Croquettes - cured ham, mozzarella cheese, tomato aioli - Nashville Chicken Nuggets - mixed pickles, kimchi aioli - House Fries - kennebec - Buffalo Chicken Pizza - hot sauce, mozzarella, bleu cheese, green onion, herb ranch My faves? All of the menu items are prepared from fresh ingredients and expertly crafted for that farm-to-table kind of meal. Vegan, vegetarian or not, they have something for everyone. And to accompany your meal, add a local craft brew in draft or even one of their home made kombuchas (if that's your thing). Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to host small parties or company functions. The pizza dough is amazing, soft but crisp bottom, with the crust folded over the sauce for that flavor filled experience. The entrance reminds me of Farmer and the Seahorse because it's nearly as impressive as the interior. The space inside and outside is massive with ample room to spread out, host a party, work event, reception and more. My husband and I came for happy hour and had a couple of margaritas and the charcuterie board. Both were amazing! The margarita was very strong but mixed so nicely with fresh lime and salt. I definitely was feeling the effects just after ordering one drink. The meat and cheese board was so beautiful that I didn't even want to touch it. It came with toasted bread brushed with olive oil and sea salt, fig jam, berries, prosciutto and salami and Gouda and Bleu cheeses. After being a big fan of Brian Malarkey and his previous restaurants I had been to Searsucker and Herringbone, it was neat to try this restaurant located near the business area of Campus Point. I thought I was getting lost stumbling towards parking around the back which is easily accessible to the back patio of the restaurant. The ambiance and atmosphere is beautiful and their farm to table concept here offers fresh food! This is an awesome place for food and drinks especially for those who work nearby. I opted for the house red and had cab when I came here on Friday night. Their Happy Hour is from 4-8pm which includes drink specials of their margarita, house wine, and well drinks. As for food I shared a plate of their Carne Asada Fries which was very unique with half potato and half sweet potato with a generous portion of carne asada and well flavored with ample smoked cheddar, pico, and chipotle crema. I had a meeting in the nearby area and needed something quick and healthy, my co worker mentioned this place. It reminds me of true foods, except pricier. You can dine in or order to-go at the counter. The menu is lacking exceptional salads .. and of course all are $10+ without any protein. Anyways, the brown rice bowl was basic and lacked complex flavor. It just tasted like rice and salt from the ramen egg. I got no garlic or tahini flavor resemblance from this dish. The steak was good.. and by far the best deal for $6. Anyways.. I won't be back. I rather go to Whole Foods and pick/choose portions and flavors on my own. The decoration and the ambiance is incredible. Green Acres definitely gives off the hipster vibe. My favorite items to order here are the lavender latte and the beet and carrot salad. I always order a hot lavender latte because it gets really cold in the building I work in. The hot lavender latte is always at the perfect temperature to be enjoyed immediately; it doesn't scald your tongue when you drink it right away. It's also a great pick-me-up to have in the middle of a long work day. I was introduced to farro through the beet and carrot salad (I like to order this with grilled chicken and mustard vinaigrette). The farro has an amazing firm, yet chewy consistency that I can't get enough of. It takes a long time for food to come out; my lunch break is only 30 minutes long and sometimes, it takes a whole 30 minutes for my order to be ready. I recommend ordering ahead of time so that your food is ready to be picked up when you're ready to get there. read more

Very delicious! For food I ordered the turkey blt with a side of greens. You have to option to sub for fries or chips. The only reason I'm not giving this Green Acre five stars is that the service the day we stopped in for lunch was very, very slow.They weren't extraordinarily busy, but we spent almost two hours there, waiting for our drinks and food to arrive. We didn't really notice because we were deep in discussion the entire time, but it did impact our day. There were five of us, and we each ordered a bottle of kombucha to drink. All they had to do was go back to the fridge and bring us the bottles, but it took us asking three times before they were able to bring them to the table. And don't get me started on our requests for glasses with ice. I ordered one of their daily specials, a fish sandwich served with a simple green salad. Once we were finally served, we each tucked in and devoured our meals. The food was delicious - not just my own, but everyone else's, as was evidenced by the break in conversation - and very filling. The only thing about my sandwich is that the bun was overly large. I ended up knocking the fish filet out of the bun in order to finish. And of course, I can't forget to comment on the decor and layout of the building. It's so wide open and comfortable, both inside and out. Parking is ample and free, and easy to access, after following the signs. If you ever have a need for an event space, keep this location in mind, as well. We had a happy hour here in April of this year, and it was so well-received. The space (upstairs) is wide open, with a conference room space connected to it. The layout upstairs is just as fun and funky as the downstairs space, and the staff is just as accommodating as the staff downstairs. Definitely a good find for those corporate events. read more

They also make some beautiful, tasty craft cocktails - love the blackberry smash. And they have have some HH bites -- fish tacos, meatballs, mussels, burger, poke, pizza, shishito peppers, etc. Have tried the meatballs (very good), burger, poke and meatball pizza, but my favorites are probably the "purist" margherita pizza and the poke. Green acre is unmistakably farm to table. There are gardens flanking each side of the office park it's located in. It's also rustically upscale, similar to farmer and the seahorse. I think Malarky restaurants are generally pretty good but a little over hyped. For example Herb and Wood was not nearly as good as Fort Oak, Trust, or Whisknladle, but Herringbone is better than Catania, Gravity Heights, and oddly, Herb and Wood. Green Acre sort of falls in the middle. It's definitely a lunch spot. The sandwich menu is very impressive but a little short on flavor. It was pretty good but not in the same league as Rocky's. Green Acre is spacious and has outside patio seating as well has inside seating with variety of booth and lounge settings. Tired of your every day cafeteria food? Check this place out! Surroundings is very green and the decor is absolutely beautiful. I love their tasty, modern decor and the lay out of it. I thought the jail tables were funny and unique. The bar feature was also a big plus :) Get here before 12 and you'll get your food and service really fast. Come here after noon and everybody and their mothers are here. I tried the root fries, Mary's chicken and the pepperoni pizza. I loved Mary's chicken! So juicy and tender. Then you finally reach the parking lot and walk a long a lovely stairwell to reach the restaurant. I've done both and either way, the food tastes great! It just depends on how fancy you're feelin They have a giant TV screen in the back next to the bar so perfect for those sports fans and a mini basketball hoop-- so cute! I'm not the biggest Brian Malarkey fan but I applaud his restaurant success here in San Diego. I've visited Searsucker and Burlap but had yet to dine in his casual restaurants such as Green Acre. We tried visiting the other Green Acre location but that attempt ended pretty poorly. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I was confused as I thought they had a cafeteria-like ordering style here at Green Acre. But no, you find a table and have to find a server to come take your order. I had a feeling this would be a longer than expected lunch. We ordered: HAVANA AFFAIR This was a nice sized sandwich. The pork shoulder was shaved not too thin and I enjoyed the abundant gruyere cheese on top of the meat. TOMATO SOUP The soup tasted lukewarm and needed more salt. It tasted watery. I'm sorry but I can't remember the green topping that on the soup that day (was it cilantro oil? perhaps pesto-like oil?). CORN COBB The salad was a nice portion and the proteins were plentiful. Here's where I'm realizing how you can tell if you enjoyed a dish or not: you can't remember the specifics of the dish. And I'm having a hard time remembering details of certain items that day. HAWAIIAN BRICK OVEN BAR (GLUTEN FREE +2) Friend is proudly (but not happily) on a gluten free diet at the moment so she chose to try the gluten free pizza here at Green Acre. It's a nice sized pizza and it was honestly my first time having gluten free pizza crust. I'm not sure how to explain the taste of this gluten free crust. The texture was a bit strange - very chewy but not in a 'pizza' way. There was an after taste that I just *couldn't* pin point and that Annie said takes getting used to. It just didn't taste like the yeasty dough I had grown up eating with pizza. I guess, for lack of better word, the gluten free tasted more 'artificial' to me. But hey, so did splenda when I first tried it and then I loved it for umpteenth years right. Service was excruciatingly slow. So slow. It was almost unbearable at times as I was running late for my meeting. I think we were there for almost two hours from start to finish. Our server did bring out a complimentary cookie as he probably over heard us say it was a birthday lunch that day. I loved the ooey-gooey semi sweet chocolate in this cookie. Definitely a winner in our book that day. I might retry Green Acre but I'd have to make sure that there's no time crunch on the next visit. I recently visited Farmer & The Seahorse and thought the food + service at the newest Malarkey restaurant was better than what we tried at Green Acre. Maybe the other Green Acre location is better? Malarkey's places, I am not really a fan. But each place still has to be evaluated on it's own. So this one is located in an office bldg that used to have Fibonacci. I give credit to Malarkey's team for turning the place to something completely different. More spaces are portioned off so that you can have intimacy or groups eating. There are several spaces designed to cater to small groups privately. The food itself was from fresh and seasonal ingredients (a trend that he might be a little behind on - see Seasons 52 and other restaurants in the SD area). The special of the day was a Loko Moko, I guess his take is fine but I was not enamored with the sticky fried rice. The lack of gravy might also be something to consider since in Hawaii, that was part of the allure of loko moko from an ordinary hamburger patty on rice. The pizza was simple but it came with a nice amount of salad which was nice. We also tried the chili and found it fine but not too spicy for my friend (I would prefer a kick). I think the overall decor and change to the space put him over the 3 stars. The food would be considered a 3 star at this time until we try other items in the menu. The service was very good and courteous. It wasn't very crowded when we went but I would have to see how they handle crowds. For now breakfast and lunch only. If they do the happy hour, I am sure my friend and I will return with several others. read more
