He was a rescue puppy from a foster home in Georgia, and we had never met him before picking him up at the transport drop off. His foster mom had told us that he was a bit of an Alpha and he was very affectionate. Well, once we got him we learned he was more than a bit of an Alpha, that he hadn't been properly socialized with other dogs, he was dominant, and high energy. Elizabeth determined this during his assessment but said she would take him. On day two Elizabeth confirmed suspicions that my husband and I had that Lido was not the Lab mix that the rescue told us we were getting, that he was indeed a Pit Bull. I don't have anything against Pit Bulls, but the news did have an effect on how I felt about the whole situation. After five days of going to Elizabeth's, Lido was a totally changed pup. By using exercise, discipline, and appropriate affection, Lido was listening, he was calm, and sleeping through the night without any accidents. Elizabeth was very informative, caring, and really teaching us how to raise our puppy. It's clear that she's passionate about her work, and she does it very well. Sadly, Lido was sent back to Georgia after having him for two weeks. Though he was behaving, I had a sense of unease around him and I knew eventually that would transfer to him and possibly make him aggressive towards me. I didn't think waiting to see if that feeling would go away would be good for either one of us, so my husband and I made the really hard decision to send him back to the rescue. Elizabeth was wonderfully understanding when I told her, and really helped in making me see there was nothing wrong with me, that he just wasn't the puppy for us. We'll get another puppy someday, but we'll take our time and research breeds that would work for us, and make sure to meet the puppy before bringing him/her home. I was so impressed with what spending two weeks in Elizabeth's care did for Lido that we'll definitely return when we get another puppy.

Originally she was only going to go 3 days per week, but the owner and Pack leader Elizabeth quickly observed that Lucy might be more suited for the puppy program which would be 5 days per week. I can't thank Elizabeth enough for allowing Lucy to be part of her puppy program, after only 2 1/2 months, the difference is amazing. I have a wonderful dog I enjoy spending time with and all of my time is not spent having to discipline her or correct her over and over. She comes home tired, she greets visitors at the door like a lady and her habit of stealing everything that was not nailed down has almost completely stopped. Elizabeth is upfront & honest right from the beginning when she meets you for the first time and observes your dog. She tells it like it is and I find that very refreshing as it helps to alleviate any misunderstandings concerning her expectations and what she can offer her clients from her program. Your Dog's Inn is a clean, safe, interactive place where your dog can learn how to interact with other dogs (big and small) in a positive way. Elizabeth often videos and posts the antics of her "pack" which allows us to see and enjoy their progress on a regular basis. The kennel seems to be run by teens with little experience and not much knowledge of pet care. We always used to tune into the pet cams when we were traveling to see our baby and verify that cleaning and care were actually taking place. When we picked up our baby at 2pm there was dried food in her bowl and the kennel looked like it was not cleaned. It has been two years since the pet cams have been working and It gives me an uneasy feeling that this is intentional. We are actively looking for a new kennel and highly doubt we will use this kennel again.

They worked with me to find the optimal location for him in the kennel where he wouldn't have to see dogs and cats. They spent time with him every day and sent me frequent pictures and updates. Bunny diets are not easy but they followed my hay, pellet, treat, and salad feeding instructions so he didn't have any GI disturbances. Everyone I met was so kind, from the staff to the manager to the owner. They all really obviously care about animals and seem to like their jobs. I don't like to leave my bunny behind and avoid it if possible. But sometimes it's unavoidable and I'll be way less worried doing so in the future, knowing that this kennel is nearby.

Play based training and training without conflict are great tools in her toolbox but as with all master trades its important to understand which tool to utilize during a project. Georgie is able to identify which tools will have the most impact and resulted it the best outcomes. When one of my dogs unexpectedly died last June Georgie stepped in during that time to help us process the loss but also supported us through by giving us resources to help our other dog cope with the suddenness of the loss. My lab suffered with a…read moregrowth on her shoulder for two years because Dr. Olson said it was inoperable because it was wrapped around a muscle and also that anesthesia was too risky and that it would be like performing cosmetic surgery on an 80-year-old woman and she'd be in constant pain if we removed it. I went back a few months ago to see if they'd just remove it. She again refused, but never said that maybe another clinic would do it. She made it sound like it was something my dog had to live with and sent me home with the name of a vet who does in-home euthanasia. She said it would eventually rupture and that when it did, we'd have to have her euthanized. My poor girl was so miserable that I was going to make the dreaded call. Thankfully, my husband insisted we get a second opinion. We brought her to Veazie, and they got her right in. The vet said it was not wrapped around a muscle. He even gave up his lunch to get her into surgery ASAP. My dog is now energetic and happy, whereas before she was mopey and sleeping all of the time. I almost had her put down because I trusted someone who is obviously incompetent. The guilt I feel because my poor girl suffered with this mass unnecessarily for two years and the guilt that I almost had her put down is something I now have to live with. I'm including a photo of the mass and a photo of her postop. I should have known better. Dr. Olson was always making snide comments about how my dog was a basket case and was dramatic. I just thought Dr. Olson had a weird sense of humor. My dog would only get stressed at the vet, and I just chalked that up to the equivalent of how some people get stressed when going to the doctor's or a dentist appointment. I now believe my dog just sensed something was off and did not like Dr. Olson, because she didn't act like that at Veazie Vet. Anyway, I highly recommend Veazie Veterinary Clinic. We scheduled an early morning appointment for 1 of our dogs, and were assured that our dog would have his haircut and they'd let us know when he was finished. We stayed out in the area, to pick him up when he was finished, but we never got a call. We went into the store to see what was going on, and found out that they had "overbooked" grooming appointments, and had never even started his haircut. They put him into a kennel while he was there, and they never apologized for what happened. We were extremely angry, and when we spoke to the manager, she didn't seem to care at all. We will never take our animals to get their grooming there, and have stopped shopping there as well.

We have a very energetic German Shepherd/husky mix, and she would be miserable at home alone all day (we'd also probably be on our fifth couch by now). I was so nervous about dropping her off, because I had this vision of doggy daycare as basically being a daytime prison for puppies. I felt so guilty signing her up. I was officially the world's worst dog mom. Carden instantly alleviated my fears. They offered to take me on a tour of the facility so I could see all the spaces behind the closed doors. They assured me that the dogs spend very little time in kennels, and spend most of their time playing, with access to the outside and lots of fresh water. And after just a couple of days, my dog was pulling on the leash to get in the door. She loves going to "school," as we call it. Carden takes great care to pair your dog with a play group that fits your dog's size and play style. When new dogs are introduced, they pay close attention To make sure everyone is well matched; if not, they switch them into a different group. I feel very confident that my dog will be safe and relaxed. The staff knows that my dog can't be trusted around other dogs if there are toys involved, so they're very careful to make sure that her play group is a toy-free group. My husband and I work at a university, so we have a pretty variable schedule, and Carden is really good about working with us as our needs change each semester. It's one of the only kennels in the area that does half days, which is so helpful, as it's nice to not have to leave her longer than we need it (or pay for more than we need). You can also get your dog groomed, bathed, or have their nails trimmed during their daycare stay. I am super happy that I can outsource this, because I am both 1) busy, and 2) I have still not recovered from the trauma of seeing her "how could you betray me?!" face when I tried to bathe her at home. The fact that she still pulls on her leash to get into Carden's even though we get her bathed there regularly should be testament enough that this place is awesome for dogs. We've used their overnight boarding service several times, and have always been very happy. They follow our instructions regarding food, treats, toys, etc., and you can even add on extra services like a Frisbee session or trail run. They even do a Sunday brunch that looks better than what I get at home! The bottom line is, if you're looking for a place that loves your dog as much as you do, this is it. If you need an affordable option to keep your dog exercised, safe, and happy when you're away from home, give Carden a call.
