I was specifically looking for self watering pots for inside our house as I have always had great luck with them and ours needed to be upgraded. The staff helped us immensely and provided several options. Checkout is always easy as they are incredibly well organized. They offer bags and paper to line your car truck etc to help keep it clean. Most things have a reasonable price and it's great when you can find everything in one place-saving you time!

But there is no way I could resist stopping in the Nursery to check out all the beautiful plants. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Pricing is not outrageous. This is one of the few independent owned local nurseries not yet gobbled up by a big franchise. On this past visit, I bought a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant. The plants were about 3-4 inches tall and $3.99 each. They were healthy and gorgeous looking. Know it's up to me to keep these gems alive. Ohhh the pressure. They have a large assortment.... they have a bit of everything... succulents, roses, fruit trees, shade trees, houseplants, and seasonal vegetable plants. They also carry plant food, soil, garden decorations, pots, and gardening tools. The setup is rural and rustic but not amateurish. The parking lot is a gravel lot as is the nursery grounds. So leave your high heels at home. Another thing ... that unlike the big box shops, El Dorado Nursery does not have warranties or provide refunds for plants. Plus no dogs are allowed. They wreak havoc on the mental health of the resident chickens.

When there was some confusion on an order regarding availability of the size of the lumber, Nate got involved and immediately corrected the problem and also went the extra mile to make sure we were getting what we wanted plus a little for our trouble. Nate has always been extra helpful. The crew has been friendly and professional. They go out of their way to get the best quality products each time I make a trip to their lumber yard. Robert even brought a couple of large pieces of lumber from another store to El Dorado Hills so I could pick it up on a certain day. What service!! We used Moon Valley Nurseries in Roseville after seeing an ad for their new location. Since we do…read morenot know much about landscaping, we were willing to pay a premium for professional design help and quality plant selection. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. We made it clear from the beginning that we needed all materials by Sunday for our landscapers, but after spending over an hour selecting 9 trees and countless plants, we were told at checkout that delivery would take two months. Some material did arrive sooner, but not all of it. The bigger issue was the design advice itself. The Liriope we received already looked unhealthy, and we later learned it does not do well in the Sacramento Valley heat. We returned it and replaced it with boxwoods. Even more concerning, a Weeping Blue Cedar was recommended to be planted only about two feet from our home. After getting second opinions, we learned that could have caused foundation issues because of the root system. We canceled that tree as well. On top of that, 7 shrubs we ordered never arrived, and we ended up buying replacements from another local nursery. Two months later, we are still waiting on a refund for the canceled tree and the undelivered shrubs. We have gone to the store multiple times, could never reach the manager, and kept getting different answers about store credit and restocking fees. Some of the plants we received are doing well, but overall the communication, design guidance, and follow-through were poor. I would definitely recommend getting a second opinion before trusting their design plan. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Moon Valley Nurseries in Roseville.

Some of the items are heirloom and organic flower & vegetable seeds, seed potatoes, plant food, gardening tools, houseplants, pots/planters, garden art, and wind chimes... just to name a few. Outside is the nursery with native flowers and plants, fruit trees, and vegetable plants. The outdoor area is compact. The plants are labeled to indicate if they are deer resistant which is important in these parts. Deer is abundant in these parts, and they have an appetite. The nursery inventory is thoughtfully laid out. Towards the back of the outside nursery is where the yoga studio is located. In addition to the yoga studio, there is a concrete patio with a view of the nursery below . That is where the outdoor yoga classes are held. They offer instruction in various types of yoga. The class schedule and pricing is posted on their website. Take a peek, pricing averages $15 a class and 10 class purchase is $120. The owner recently opened a cafe on the property. Nourish Cafe serves up cold pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal coffee, nourishing soups, and vibrant salads. Finding parking can be challenging. There is about 12 dedicated parking spaces in front on Green Valley Road. However, this place is popular. When I pointed this out, the staff told me it was "okay" because they "wouldn't be there long." A handicap spot is not a loading zone, and "not being there long" doesn't change the law or the impact on those of us who actually need those spots. To have staff prioritize a trailer over the legal accessibility needs of their customers is incredibly rude. I won't be back.
