We really enjoyed Captain Elaine's narration and we learned so much. This tour is strictly a journey to the Glen Canyon Dam to get you up close and back. Most of the journey is in a no wake zone, that's why it takes 90 minutes. The canyon you travel through is beautiful and quiet. The boat is basic. The main level is enclosed and air conditioned and has comfortable seats. There is a restroom on board. They provide complimentary water and lemonade but I did not have any. The second/top level is open and standing only - no seats. While you can see everything from the first level, we enjoyed being on the top to really see all the views unobstructed. There isn't any shade on the top level so be sure to have sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Again, most of the trip is at no wake speed but there were a few spots where we went about 10 mph. It was sunny, no clouds, no wind and about 75 degrees during our 10:30 AM tour. You check in for the tour inside Lake Powell Resort. They take you down to the marina in extended golf carts. That was great because it would have been a long walk down and a very steep walk back. After the tour we enjoyed a coffee and pastry from the Wind Coffee Cafe.

He drove us by the Dam and showed us some really cool markings/shapes on the sandstone walls. He even gave us a little bit of history as we drove around the lake. This was the highlight of our trip. After waiting in 106-degree weather, a golf cart finally arrived and combined my family with another family before taking us to the boat rental office. Because of the delay caused by their own transportation process, we arrived at 3:32 p.m. Despite this, the front desk staff refused to rent us a boat, even though they didn't close until 4:00 p.m. The employee was dismissive and unprofessional throughout the interaction. To make matters worse, we then had to wait another 30 minutes for a golf cart to take us back. Overall, the entire experience was frustrating due to the staff's poor attitude, lack of urgency, and unwillingness to help. The customer service was among the worst I've experienced, and I would not recommend this business.

The speedometer only worked intermittently, the steering wheel was sticky, and the steering alignment was noticeably off. Based on the condition of the boat, it did not meet our expectations. Although the staff members we interacted with were kind and professional, the quality and maintenance of the boat were disappointing. In the future, I would recommend inspecting the boat in person before heading to the marina.

They went over safety and wind conditions. Their boat was clean and ran without any issues. And on top of that the price was better than Carl's Marine. They also were not surprised by our experience with Carl's Marine. They said they have heard may scary stories from customers who stated the boats were not running properly and even sinking! I'm just grateful we, especially our 9 and 3 year old children, made it back safely. I don't understand how this business is allowed to rent boats. Note: this business is not BBB accredited.

The easiest is to take a 2 hour boat tour/ride and it will take you to about a mile's hike to the bridge. Not the easiest natural bridge to get to but would be worth it when you get there. It is a sacred bridge to the Navajo Indians so you are requested not to walk under or approach the arch. Might be better to go in the evening, because sunlight does not fall on it in the morning from the viewing area and you are not heavily pressured to respect tribal custom and not walk under the bridge and take pictures from the other side. Don't even think about walking around it, since that would be walking off the trail and the fine is $25,000, if you are caught.

We sat on the top deck for a few minutes to enjoy the views, but very soon went downstairs to sit indoors because the weather was very cold. During the two and a half hours boat journey, we kept ourselves busy by listening to the audio tour and looking at the unique and marvelous red rock formations all the way through. During the last half hour, the boat entered a narrow passage with towering rocks on all sides. A bit scary and exciting! A part of the passage was so narrow that everybody in the boat went "Ohhhhh" and "aaaaahhhh". We finally reached the dock near the Rainbow Bridge, stocked up on water and snacks and started the 1.5 mile hike to see the Rainbow Bridge. It was an easy hike and we were walking among the soaring tall rocks. We looked minuscule and more like ants to these rocks. As the trail turned, we caught a glimpse of the massive Rainbow Bridge. We walked further to see the bridge completely. A colossal structure majestically standing right in front of us! This 290 feet structure is apparently considered sacred by the American Indian tribes. For the same reason, visitors are not allowed to walk under the bridge or touch the bridge. We spent a little over half hour, taking pictures and mostly gasping at this gigantic naturally formed structure. Then walked back and boarded the boat. The return journey is never always fun, because everyone is exhausted. Just lazed back in the seat, watching the beautiful structures on the way, until the boat took us back to Lake Powell in Page.

At the launch site, we met our guide Logan, and we were lucky that it was just our family of four on this tour. Husband and I wore aqua shoes and my daughters opted to wear their Birkenstock sandals and go barefoot, which was fine if you're okay with getting red mud on them. Logan was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous since I'm a beginner kayaker, but he let us move at our own pace. It ended up being a great workout while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The canyon was quiet, beautiful, and not crowded at all. We paddled across Lake Powell and into the canyon, and the cool lake water felt amazing in the warm end-of-March weather (mid-80s). They provided life jackets, offered bottled water, and Logan even took photos of us both on the water and at the end of the canyon, which we really appreciated. John left much time for us to take cool pictures and was a wealth of knowledge. He made sure to engage with each person in the group and was successful in getting the more shy individuals to step out of their comfort zones. John and Sid (the other employee) made this tour worth it. They provided awesome recommendations for things in the area and also future outdoor related activities in the U.S. Be sure to pack enough water. Remember you are in a kayak and your items will likely get soaked. Luckily they provide one water proof bag per kayak which can hold your phone and camera. If you feel the need to pack more, I recommend that you bring your own waterproof back pack. I opted to go barefoot in the kayak and wear shoes on the hike. You will have to walk through water to get on and off of the boat. Do not let your size and fitness level deter you from this tour. There is a gift shop and cafe you can grab a cold beverage and a bite of food that is worth visiting. *NOTE* You must check in 30 minutes prior to your tour time AND you can only bring a water bottle and a camera/cellphone . Put your keys in your pocket and leave everything else in your car. Wear shoes you can walk through sand to get to site and that you can climb down and up ladders. This is a very busy tour but well worth it. The tour is on Navajo Tribal lands so please respect the land and those that work this tour and even more so when it's hot out.
