The gentleman we dealt with was short and somewhat flippant when explaining why the smog could not be completed due to an issue with the catalytic converter. A bit more time and willingness to explain the issue clearly would have gone a long way, rather than assuming the customer should already understand technical details. Because the issue was related to emissions, we asked about the type of repair work that might be needed to address the problem and potentially allow the vehicle to pass smog. We were prepared to move forward, but the response felt dismissive, as though our questions or business were not of interest. I'm disappointed that I've given such a poor review. Over the past 30 years, All Valley has…read moreperformed many services for my vehicles. The results were always, prior to this one, excellent. They've performed smog, oil changes and a replacement engine installation. When it came time, several weeks ago, for a smog check. I was told that the earliest appt. available was in three weeks. I scheduled it even though it caused me to operate the vehicle without current registration. I had several fault codes which had appeared which they corrected. One code required extensive diagnosis which they never performed. After 10 days in the shop with no progress I paid my bill and took it to a "Shade Tree" mechanic who diagnosed the problem and ordered the replacement part in a matter of 45 minutes. They appear to be too busy to perform extensive diagnosis to solve a customers problem.
