I have been shopping for a new dental office and I'm happy to report I've found the fit. A friend strongly recommended this practice and I didn't see Kerkorian, but rather a lovely female dentist (I was hoping I could find her name on the website but she's not there so forgive me for forgetting this excellent practitioner's name). Ani is an amazing hygienist and I was in and out as a new patient with full x-rays in only 45 minutes. Amazing. The ONLY thing I can suggest to improve the experience is to re-think the office sanitation procedure. Instead of cleaning a chair between visitors or using a paper liner for the chairs, there is thin plastic tarping covering the chair - that sticks right to hot legs on a hot day and makes things rather uncomfortable. It's not "green" at all to use disposable plastic (no plastic bags can go into recycling) instead of simply giving a chair a disinfecting wipe between patients. I don't know if that is what the "Green" stands for in the firm's name, but the leaf logo makes me think there should be more eco-forward practices here. I would knock off half a star, but since I can't, I'm rounding up for the excellent service, friendly staff, and ease of street parking. Thank you, Green California! read more

I'm a chicken when it comes to dental care after an unfortunate wisdom tooth extraction years ago while living in the Caribbean. The last few dentists I've seen have been disappointing and I've never returned after the original visit, until now. I certainly never thought I'd be writing a 5-star review for a dentist and especially not mere hours after an emergency tooth extraction but here we are! We don't have dental insurance but have a "reimbursement plan" through my husband's employer, so finding a quality dentist who worked with our plan could be difficult. I found myself in an urgent situation after losing a filling in January, cracking my tooth in February and then 10 days ago breaking 3/4 of my tooth COMPLETELY OFF. So I did my research and called Green California Dental, and first impressions blew me away. The level of customer service, and the compassion and care from the first phone call to Jesus and the X-rays to the exam, procedure and offering to help me get paperwork for a reimbursement through out care plan was unbelievable! I was feeling, scared uncomfortable and vulnerable and the girl who answered not only got me in the following morning (I called right before closing on Friday) BUT instantly put me at ease. I woke up with a migraine and almost canceled my appointment (my nerves may have played a part in that) but I'm so glad I didn't! Both Dentists were EXCEPTIONAL and it was immediately apparent they actually cared about my physical, mental (and financial) wellbeing and would work WITH me for the best plan of care. Turned out my tooth was not save-able, and I needed an extraction and then either an implant or bridge (we agreed on implant to save my teeth). They originally thought they'd need to send me to an oral surgeon, because the extraction would be difficult (the entire tooth was broken off below the gum line except for one small corner) instead Dr.Scharf (spelling?!) felt confident she could do it right then. Thank goodness she did, as she found a little infection, so avoided future complications and pain plus getting me closer to an implant and back to a carefree smile! PLUS a visit to an oral surgeon would have not only been expensive (THOUSANDS $$) but would have delayed my care. Dr.S spent time thoroughly explaining everything to me, without even a hint of condescension before beginning the procedure. I can not stress enough it was virtually painless!! Literally, the least painful shots I've EVER received (and there were 5 or 6 at least!) and the extraction was only a mild discomfort, some pressure and ...DONE! If you need to get dental work done- this is the place! I'm actually looking forward to getting my smile back on track and feel confident having my son come here for quality, painless care! Personally I am terrified of anything dental related because of experiences as a child , but this office changed my whole perspective. I got a consult done and all 4 wisdom teeth extracted within 2 hours. The doctor was very informative, super nice, the staff was great and made sure I was feeling okay throughout the whole procedure. The front desk was also super nice and very informative of the breakdown of what my insurance was covering. I went to this place once, the chairs were just separated with curtains (i like a little bit of privacy) so that threw me off already but, then again, I heard good things about dr. k. had x-rays done and he came to talk to me. It was not good news, he found I had 7(!) cavities that needed filling and he wanted to place 2 crowns. This exceeded my insurance coverage but he was adamant it all really needed to be done. After all you need to take care of your teeth, right? Also I had to have my teeth cleaned, I was told they were so bad this needed to be done over 2 sessions and I had to have anesthesia for this too... Since this was the first time in years I had any cavities at all I was quite shocked and decided to get a second opinion. And boy was I ever glad I did!!!! I had dr k's x-rays sent over to an actual dentist who quickly told me I had no cavities, zero, none. you hear that dr k??? NONE! Also I had my teeth cleaned at the actual dentist, no anesthesia needed whatsoever and all done in one (quick) session. These scam artists were willing to drill into perfectly healthy teeth and give anesthesia where it was absolutely not needed. just for financial gains?! that is absolutely disgusting. please stay as far away from this place as possible if your teeth are dear to you! And were you to think the dentist i went to after this place was merely telling me what I liked to hear? this was 3 years ago and I have not had any issues nor cavities since. Dr. Kerikorian has been my dentist for the past few years. I have been to many different dentists and never found the right one till I found Green California Dental group. With this dental group I never had any problem with my insurance and the costs of the dental work. Every visit I'm greeted by very nice and friendly staff who explain all insurance related and out of pocket costs if any ahead of time, after being examined by the Dr. Dr. Kerikorian is a very nice, friendly and caring dentist with a big sense of humor. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the dental work. I just had a root canal about a week ago and finally I was "crowned" yesterday. Even though the wait time is very short you can always find fresh coffee at the waiting area. Very easy to make appointments with reminder calls. I have recommended Dr. Kerikorian to many friends and family. I'm sure you are going to have a very satisfied experience with him and his staff. read more

The dentist was nice but the front staff failed to tell me about another option for teeth cleaning , an option cheaper than the $200 deep cleaning I initially had been told about which I found unnerving. The dentist also 'repaired' a chipped front tooth for one of my parents by sculpting the bottom half of the tooth with a plaster like substance. I was told that this procedure is all my parent needed, and it cost close to $240. I wary about this being a permanent solution and of course the plaster solution didn't work as it broke off just a week later. I was then forced to pay $600 more to get a crown which I feel should have been the initial solution. read more

I am very sad to report a change. If you are going here for a standard cleaning, that's cool. But if you have a broken tooth, look elsewhere. I have broken 3 out of 4 of my front teeth, so I'm sad to say, I have a bit of experience with this matter. The dentist that fixed my teeth has retired. My teeth looked completely natural and lasted for at least 7 years. One of the teeth re-broke and I went to Green. First pass - my tooth was visibly shorter than the one next to it and looked very unnatural. It looked Terrible. I asked Dr. K to redo it. He warned me that it would most likely chip if he tried to redo it, but I was embarrassed by how bad it looked and wanted my teeth to be more even. Second pass - tooth felt weird and was still shorter and looked unnatural. And yes, it ended up chipping three days later. It also was clearly a poorly bonded tooth as you can see the lines and bonding. I have since gone to another dentist who took some more time on the tooth and it is now in way better condition. I then asked for my xrays for my records - if your xrays are a few years older, they DO have copies but they need to look in another location for those copies. There was a miscommunication where they only sent me recent ones; they later found the older ones. Double check with your insurance on what your insurance will and won't cover if you are concerned. read more

I have been coming here for about 6 years however they've really gone downhill as far as servicing their clients. They cancelled my cleaning appointment and rescheduled it for 2 months (!!) later, only to tell me - once I had driven all the way to their office - that the appointment was removed because of something with my insurance. Apparently the insurance was supposed to notify me, however as a private organization they would do well to treat their patients (especially longtime ones) with the basic decency of notifying them when appointments are taken off their books, particularly when clients are driving a ways to get to them. They also couldn't schedule me until the end of August, all because they cancelled my May appointment. Very disappointed. The staff doesn't seem to care. I may give them one more try because I like the dentist here, but if they cancel my appointment one more time, we are done. read more

Had first visit today. A few things stood out that were really nice and will make me recommend the office. 1. Only minor upselling of services. Most dentists up-sell a ton of other services like antibacterial treatments, whitening, et cetera. It helps them to make money. I get that. This office does that as well, but if you indicate this isn't for you, they happily drop the subject. So that's nice. I never felt like they were pressuring me into anything. 2. Patients' needs come first. I was talking with the doc when, from another room, came the sound of another patient making a distressed noise. Without hesitation and in a moment, the doc and the nearby staff were all quickly and silently attending to that patient to make sure they were ok. That immediate reaction time was impressive to me. I'd like to have them respond that way if I had something urgent happen to me. So.... so far, so good. read more

The receptionist was able to get me in earlier than my appointment because she knew I was in pain. Thank you! I've been to Dr.K before, and he has always made me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr. Kerikorian. He is very kind, knows what he is doing, goes out of his way to help his patience and as an added bonus,he is personable. Today was my 3rd visit to the office and I feel compelled to share my feedback. I first visited the office in mid December and I was in a rush to find an office that would take care of my cracked filling. Although they were booked, the office staff accommodated me knowing that I had discomfort. During my visit, It turned out that I not only had to fix my cracked filling but there was a possibility that I also had to have a root canal done. YIKES. I was very nervous as all of this took place just a few days before I had to take a week long trip. Dr. fixed my cracked tooth and advised that he was going to try to save my 2nd tooth vs. moving forward with a root canal. He did this but explained that there was a 50% chance that it wouldn't work and we may still end up with a tooth canal; that was acceptable to me. I was thankful that he didn't just rush to do a root canal and that he attempted to save my tooth. The next morning I had some discomfort and pain and called the office. Although Dr. Kerikorian was off that day, he came in within 30-40 of my call to examine my tooth. I was very impressed as most doctors wouldn't even bother to do that; most would make you wait or ask you to go to ER if it's really bad. We decided that it wasn't alarming and wanted to give it a few days. During this time, not only did his office call to see how I was doing, but so did the doctor. Again, very impressed. Unfortunately, I ended up having to get a root canal but that didn't come as a complete surprise as he had explained that this would happen. Dr. is very competent, incredibly kind, very efficient, effective and communicative. As for his staff, they too are very professional and they have always tried to accommodate me with my scheduling needs. Patient, beware. Green California Dental Group isn't an honest or good dental practice. This dental office is engaged in blatant upselling and they also use scare tactics in an attempt to get their patients to spend more money on dental work or extras they may, in fact, not need. I visited this office 3 times in 2016, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt several times. My dental insurance has some limitations and this office both lied to me about what was covered and made a point of telling me repeatedly that my insurance wasn't paying them enough for my cleanings. They also attempted to extort money from me for a cleaning they told me would be covered by my insurance. Whether or not this was an innocent office clerk's mistake will remain a mystery, but since I took the time to have them look it up on my dental insurance in my presence, I can honestly say that I didn't make the mistake. Unfortunately, dental upselling and the use of scare tactics to fatten the bottom line isn't restricted to only this office. It appears to be rampant in the dental industry. When I go to the dentist, I have a reasonable expectation that I will be told the truth, dealt with fairly, and not be cheated in any way. When these expectations aren't met, I have no choice but to find a better, more honest dental practice, if one exists. Addendum: 3/13/17 After receiving one phone call and one email from Dr. Kerikorian, D.D.S. Dr. Kerikorian, you receive approximately $13 per month from Delta Dental USA/HMO for a capitation on my behalf of $156 per year. In addition, you receive money from Delta Dental each time you clean my teeth. Every time I visited your office, you made a point of telling me you weren't being paid enough for my cleanings. If this is the case, why have you signed up for Delta Dental? It's not my fault or concern if you feel you aren't being paid enough. I have dental insurance and you accepted it. It isn't my intention to punish you or your office staff with this review. It is my intention to put a stop to the abuse of people such as myself, who through no fault of their own, find themselves with Delta Dental USA/HMO and are victims of scare tactics and attempted overcharging for procedures they may or may not need. Please remember the Hippocratic oath you took to do no harm. Greed should be included in that oath. read more

I once thought I was one of those people with great teeth. As it turns out, I don't and a combination of my previous dentist (NOT Dr. K/Green California) not catching things and my lack of flossing came to a head this year and I had six cavities, needed a root canal and probably a crown. All in all, my worst dental nightmare and I practically had a breakdown in their office because I'm scared of the dentist on a good day, this news was just unbearable. With that being said, Dr. K and his staff are amazing. When I told them I was a fearful patient and they actually believed me instead of blowing me off like my previous dentist had. They treated me with care in a non condescending way during all my procedures and one of the techs actually held my hand because I was shaking so much. Also, I'm not exactly sure what they do differently but I typically always have pain and a bit of feeling during a filling even with novocaine but Dr. K is the only dentist that I've never experienced this with. For the first time ever, dental work was 100% painless. Even the novocaine shot was not as bad as usual. Again, I don't know why this is the case but it's great! As far as his pricing goes, I can't comment because I have an HMO (Cal Dental) and the pricing is set but even if he wasn't "in network" I would go to him in a heartbeat and pay out of pocket! read more

I would describe the dental group staff as very accommodative group. The dentist is very kind too. Sadly, no available appointments until sometime in October. I had to shop around for another dentist and hoping the staff are as nice as the Green California's staff. I will definitely seek their service again if not satisfied with my new one. read more
