We started up diaper service with Green Cheeks when my son was just 4 weeks old and loved the experience. We didn't want to commit to cloth diapering before trying it, so this was the perfect solution. Judy and Brandon got us set up within just a few days, including providing a comprehensive orientation to using the cloth diapers. Delivery and pickup were seamless, and when it was time to size our son up from the newborn diapers and covers that was easy, too. The diaper lot that you get is used exclusively for your baby until they size up or out, which is nice, although after each wash they looked brand new. Because they operate Happy Baby Company, Judy and Brandon can easily add items purchased online to your delivery, too. Loved loved loved our experience with Green Cheeks! We are first time parents and wanted to reduce the environmental burden our baby had (diapers are awful for the environment and basically never degrade). Judy and Brandon are incredibly responsive and were helpful in getting us set up with what we needed. I felt like we were always treated as part of their family as opposed to clients buying products. They did not oversell, and they were just so generous and kind throughout. For example, Brandon came over before the baby was born and gave us a diaper lesson. They answered questions promptly. Great small business that we were very pleased with while going through the first few months that are filled with so many diaper changes. We used the weekly diaper service for the first six months of our baby's life. Judy and Brandon were helpful when we needed a few extra diapers in the first few weeks and responded quickly to each request when we need to change sizes. I plan to purchase and wash my own cloth diapers, as opposed to using the service, so this review is for the storefront in Bellevue, which is great! I attended one of their orientations and got all my questions answered! There is a small fee, but you get it back in discounts on store purchases. In addition to a massive selection of cloth diapers and products, there is a large variety of other baby necessities, from natural care products and toiletries, to books and toys, to carriers and diaper bags. You can also set up a registry or wish list if you would like to receive gifts from there. This place is such an asset -- I'm so glad that Pittsburgh has a store like this! read more

I recommend this service to any new parent. I wanted to use cloth diapers while I was home with my new baby to reduce the amount of disposable diaper waste I would otherwise generate. Having the service was great because I doubt during the exhausting early months I would have had the drive to wash my own cloth diapers. It was so convenient to simply put the dirty diapers outside once a week in exchange for clean ones. If you are worried you won't know how to use cloth diapers, the owners will give you a crash course before your due date. They are very friendly, helpful people. read more

I've been a Green Cheeks customer for 14 months and have never had a more positive customer service experience as I have with both Green Cheeks Diaper Service and The Happy Baby Company. 5 Stars for the following reasons: The very first time I emailed to inquire about the diaper service, Judy emailed me back within 48 hours and answered all of my questions. Even the dumb ones. When I was 8 months pregnant, Judy and Brandon came to our house and showed us all we needed to know about cloth diapering. They even made us practice to ensure we got it. They gave us plenty of great information and didn't put any pressure on us to buy/use the other products they offer (which we ended up using/buying anyway - they know their stuff). A week after our son was born, Brandon came in to meet our son and to make sure we weren't having any issues with the diapers. Brandon (and Carl when he's filling in) always take a minute to say hi to our (big dumb) dogs. If the deliveries are a little later in the evening, the diapers are delivered super quietly so they don't make the aforementioned dogs go nuts and wake up the baby. Anytime I've ordered something from HBC, it's been delivered with our weekly diapers (and another great perk, shipping fees were waived). Anytime I've visited the HBC store, Judy and the other employees have made excellent recommendations based on what I was looking for. Whether it be diaper related or nursing, skin care, or other fun stuff like books, music and toys. We are always well-informed because Judy will send out helpful emails to let us know if/when they were going out of town and who might be filling in or if diapers would have to be delivered early or late, etc. In addition, they worked with us and were flexible when we were going out of town. I'm only ending my service with Green Cheeks in the coming weeks because my son's super-human baby strength is making it very difficult to change any/all diapers at this point. Absolutely wonderful service. We've used Green Cheeks for 4 years as my two daughters went from newborns through potty training. They provide great service, have everything you need, and most importantly have all the knowledge and advice to back up the products. Green Cheeks is a wonderful service and my husband and I highly recommend them! We were happy to support a small local business that's committed to the environment. Brandon and Judy, the owners, were always kind and gracious. Our dirty cloth diapers were picked up from our doorstep and clean cloth diapers were delivered each week. No yucky laundry for us! But the biggest benefit was, of course, the reduced garbage in the landfill. I want to be a role model for my daughter, and living sustainably is something I want to pass on to her. All I can say is "wow!" We moved from San Francisco to PGH and were surprised to find only one option for cloth diapers. Luckily, Green Cheeks is all you need. The organic diapers are soft, clean and easy to use. The service is reliable and convenient. They pick up once a week and drop off fresh, clean diapers. The cloth wipes are a great addition and leave us with an empty trash can in our daughter's room - no diapers, no wipes - it's all cloth. While the environmental benefits are great, the biggest sell is probably how healthy our daughter's skin is. She's 6 months old and has yet to have diaper rash (except for a brief yeast rash when she was 3 weeks old). All this, and the cost is about the same as for disposables. Add to that, the fact that McAuleys are about the nicest people around and are totally committed to customer service, and Green Cheeks is definitely a 5 star operation. read more

As far as I know, Green Cheeks is the only game in town for cloth diaper washing/delivery, but luckily, they're great. A literal mom-and-pop business! We used them weekly for 4 years total with two kids, from newborn to toddler. We also added on the wipes, which were great--way more effective and softer than disposable wipes. We bought our own covers (Rumparoos were the best-fitting and longest-wearing for us if you're looking for a rec), which you can also get through their store. It ended up being probably the same price as good disposables. Definitely cheaper if you wash your own, but we just couldn't manage it (two kids in diapers!!), plus you have to figure in time and wear on your washer and water costs, so it's not like that's free anyway. Brandon was great when we forgot to bring down the diapers for him to pick up, even making the occasional extra trip. Judy was accommodating when we went on vacation--you get a credit for the weeks you're not using the diapers. The prefolds were always really clean, and it's great that you get your own kids' diapers back--they're not mixed in with other kids' diapers. Also, when we had two kids in diapers, they let us mix our dirties in one bag, and then gave them back to us all sorted. Very convenient! read more

We have used Green Cheeks diaper service for over a year. We love it! Judy and Brandon have answered all of my questions and the diapers are always extremely clean. They go way over and beyond. I just needed some clean diapers for a trip and they delivered them overnight on a day that isn't even our normal delivery day. They were life savers. I was *thrilled* when I discovered while expecting my third child that Pittsburgh suddenly had a diaper service. I had tried (and failed) to use cloth diapers at least 4 times with my other two children. The problem was always keeping up with the laundry. I kept thinking maybe it would work out if ONLY we had a diaper service. For awhile there was a woman in WVA who covered Pittsburgh but I found her to be unreliable and was too nervous to commit to someone who didn't return calls or show up when she was supposed to. When a friend told me about Green Cheeks I contacted them but was a little nervous. I needn't be because right from the start Judy and Brandon were reliable, responsible business owners. They were always available for questions or extras- responded instantly to texts and emails. They even did a pickup/drop off not even 24 hours after the birth of their baby! This is the most amazing company. We loved knowing we were supporting a local family-owned company and conserving resources at the same time. Judy and Brandon continuously went out of their way to accommodate us and make things as easy and convenient as possible. They came to our house for a free cloth diapering tutorial, and delivered clean diapers and wipes on our porch every week, like clockwork. When I forgot to put the diapers out one week they scheduled a later pickup at no cost. They were extremely organized and understanding of our needs. When our daycare told us they no longer would change our pre-fold diapers, Judy and Brandon supplied a simpler all-in-2 system we could try out. We started using Green Cheeks nearly two years ago when our daughter was born. A friend who was also using the service recommended it and it has been fabulous! I had never considered using cloth until I learned about Green Cheeks and I am so glad I did. Brandon and Judy are great to work with--our diapers were always delivered and picked up on time, and they are more than accommodating with special arrangements like holidays and vacations. About six months ago we switched to the half cloth/half biodegradable disposable service as our daughter required more disposables when outside the house. I was so glad when I learned this option existed. Using a cloth service is probably slightly more expensive than buying biodegradable disposables (or washing your own cloth); however, reusing diapers and keeping disposables out of landfills; saving much-needed time (that could be used for sleeping rather than laundering dirty diapers :); and supporting a family-owned, local business were benefits that outweighed any extra cost we might have incurred. read more
