The build your own salad is a very cute and convenient option. I liked how the display of the salad seemed very clean and the options were easy to choose from. However, I felt that watching the owner swat away flies with a fly swatter while I ate my lunch was a little disgusting...

Decent place to go for lunch if you want a salad or sandwich. The workers were very friendly and definitely care about their customers and their happiness. The salads are charged by the pound, and there are a lot of options you can choose from, so be careful you don't spend took much. There's also a pretty large selection of juices and smoothies.

This has been my staple since late summer. I don't eat meat, but I've gotten every vegetarian, vegan, and fish soup that they serve. Always amazing. The soups are made in-house, and are packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. I especially love the creamy tomato, red lentil, and potato and leek soups. They got me through winter! I've only had a few sandwiches, but they are also always very good. The salad bar has always looked fresh and clean. (See the photo I uploaded.) The juices are amazing -- I love the House Special Juice with lemon. The owners are incredibly friendly and eager to listen to suggestions and requests. I'm very surprised that there have been reviews here that mention the salad bar looking "old" -- that has never been the case in any of my visits. In addition, it's true that the soups lean toward the spicy side in some cases, but the owners are always VERY conscientious about asking if customers want a sample, so I'd suggest taking them up on that option if spiciness is a worry. Highly suggested.

My husband and I really wanted some restorative, Japanese comfort food. However, we were unable to go there in person because he was sick, so I ordered delivery from them for the first time (via Uber Eats). The food held up well in transit and was just as good as if we were dining in. I went with a Karaage Rice Bowl with a Ajitama (6 minute egg) as an added extra. My husband went with a Vegan Ramen bowl. While we were supposed to share the Crispy Tofu Buns, my husband couldn't stop after one. Hey, I can't really blame him though, they are delicious. I can't say I would not have done the same thing had I gotten to them first ;)

Walked in and I loved the place already. Very chill and relaxing ambiance. Staff was very friendly and quite a lot of seating. Went on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of seats. I don't live very close so I thought I'd order a few things on the menu to try a variety. Was glad I did. Started with the cucumber salad. Light. Refreshing and even has a little kick. I couldn't stop eating it! Ordered the braised pork belly Bao. Comes in orders of 2. Sooooooo flavorful and so worth it! Ordered the Short Rib Ramen and their Special Spicy Tonkotsu ramen. So much flavor in the broths. Very filling and the numerous flavors from the fresh onions, to the beautifully cooked pork belly and short rib, to the perfect soft boiled eggs. A+! Will most definitely be on my mind to stop by every time I'm in the area!

***3 1/2 stars***…read more Yesterday I decided on a total whim to just grab lunch here before seeing Disclosure Day across the street. I've walked by a gazillion times, usually in the mid-afternoon or evening when the place is really jumping (at least based on the outdoor seating situation). This time around, I came for an early lunch around 11:30am when there were only a few other people sitting down and I had my pick of indoor or outdoor seating. I didn't get much of a look at the interior during my brief trip inside, but it seemed pleasant enough. Morally I didn't have much of a choice though but to sit outside at their communal picnic tables, given that it was sunny and 72. You do the math. As most of my solo eating adventures go, the service was excellent. It definitely helped that it wasn't busy, but both waitresses on the premises were super attentive and I ordered my meal literally within 30 seconds of sitting down. I wasn't on a hardcore schedule (my movie wasn't for an hour and 15 minutes) but I was in and out in probably 20-25 minutes, which is just wild for a legit sit-down meal. Top marks all around. I liked that they kept a bottle of tap at my table too; just efficient there. As soon as I saw gnocchi on the menu, my decision was made. I went with the gnocchi al pomodoro off the lunch entree menu, which was honestly just okay. This is usually a dish I really enjoy, and while it was clearly fresh (the chunks of mozzy are a nice touch) it was pretty bland and tasteless. It's extremely rare for me to look around for seasoning, but I did here (and didn't see any within range, so let it go). Honestly very surprising. The gnocchi itself was fine, but the pieces were so small it was actually difficult to eat/get them onto the fork tines. I had to scoop most of them up, and it was a slow process. Not the biggest deal in the world (the gnocchi was tasty in and of itself) but just a slight annoyance. The price point was fine; with tip, I paid a little over $20, which is on par for Montclair. Maybe it was just an off day/lunch, but I think the play is to come back for dinner with a bottle of wine and get a different dish. This place is very popular (during my brief meal, several people walked by openly declaring they were going to stop by later to eat) so perhaps a few grains of salt here, which would have been nice to add to my dish.
