Great place for vegetarian chinese food! Everything on the menu is actually made without meats or seafoods (even though the names may say otherwise). Food here is pretty good for being fully vegetarian, but I wouldn't say it's an exact replacement. I enjoyed the fake roasted pork and house special fried rice here. I felt there was too much dough to filling ratio in the dumplings. Our food came fairly quickly and the prices are great here! This eatery comes up in conversation, so I decide to check it out, especially due to a curiosity before the conversation about the possibility of Vegan Rib Tips existing. During my visit, I experience good customer service; employees are kind and helpful with navigating the menu. Employees may refer to Rib Tips as Spare Ribs. The flavor, in my opinion, between the Vegan and Non-Vegan Rib Tips, are the same. There is no bone or cartilage in the Vegan Rib Tips though the harder texture (of bone/cartilage) is possible to attain if one eats the meal at a latter time (without reheating though without refrigerating). The Vegan Rib Tips are so delicious; more sweet than savory, chewy though not gum, and offering a wonderfully satisfying flavor. The Calamari is so good; more savory than sweet, tastes like Non-Vegan Calamari more so in the aftertaste though like Calamari (87%) and Shrimp (13%) in the beginning ànd middle taste, the crisp is light, not heavy on my stomach, what a wonderfully satisfying combination. The Mixed Vegetable Soup is like Hot Vegetable-Infused Water, very soothing to sip within bites of the Calamari and Rib Tips. Veggie Heaven has the BEST Vegetarian food in the area. This is our go-to place if we want a healthy, but quick meal. The Bang Bang Beef and Chicken, House Special Chow Fun, and Hunan Special Garden are all fantastic. The dishes are all very veggie forward, but they do have tofu, veggie beef, veggie chicken, veggie shrimp, veggie duck, etc. The mock meats are some of the best I have had. They taste like real meat but are completely vegetarian! The dishes are so flavorful and Veggie Heaven loads each dish up with yummy sauce. The best part about this place is how fast the food is prepared. We call in and order and then it's ready 15 minutes later. I'm knocking off one star just for the ambiance. Wowie! I took my girlfriend here and we had mixed vegetable soup, wonton soup, tofu with three mushrooms, and the hunan garden. The food was so amazing - portions were large and came with rice. We couldn't finish it all. The tofu was great and the sauces were well prepared - not too salty at all, and the vegetables all had a great texture. I loved this place!!! We ordered the peking duck and orange beef and they felt like very nice portions. They were flavorful, saucy, and delicious (albeit quite salty, but that's my personal taste). We had such a great evening out here last Saturday night! This restaurant is over an hour's drive for us but a friend recommended it and we were excited to try their food. It's a completely vegetarian restaurant that uses a variety of plant based ingredients to simulate the flavor and texture of meat. (The menu explains that although the dishes are named "beef" or "chicken", it's a description of what the plant based product is similar to in texture and flavor.) We were a party of 7 people, and we ordered 3 appetizers and 6 main dishes with 6 bowls of white and brown rice, so we could all share and try some of everything. Some of us had eaten plant based meat before and for some in our group that kind of food was new. All of us agreed the food was really good! Of everything we ordered, the 2 standouts were the Bang Bang Beef and Chicken ($15.95) and the Ginger Chicken ($12.95). Both those dishes had zesty flavors and pleasing textures. Some in our group tried the various bubble teas and fruit juices. The person who got the Watermelon juice said it was refreshing and delicious. The service was efficient and polite. We had reservations, and were seated as soon as we arrived. Food came out very quickly and even with seven people, we were finished an hour and a half. The price was reasonable for the quality and amount of food offered. The restaurant is clean and bright, with an uplifting green leafy plant decor and garden vibe. The place is nice and clean too with an upper level. Service was quick and we got our food right away starting with the fried sweet potatoes. It was nice and crispy and was a good to share. The sauce was just okay. Before, at their Denville branch, i tried their Beef curry and actually enjoyed it. Here I ordered the Ting Ting Two flavor and finished the whole thing myself lol it had "beef" and "chicken" meat that if you dont pay very close attention you probably wont notice its not real meat at all. The sauce was nicely done, very flavorful, and worked well when paired with rice. The coconut cake and cheesecake we had for dessert was also very good! I ordered a lunch special of sesame "chicken" made to order gluten free, which was good if a bit bland. But the lunch specials come with soup, and I was told that either the vegetable or miso soup were safe for me to eat. So I ordered the vegetable soup and it was a bowl of almost entirely only chopped tomatoes with a single piece of onion and celery in slightly salty clear broth. Not at all what I'd hoped for in a vegetable soup, especially not from a place that has "veggie" in its name! read more

My husband and I are on a "one meal a day" diet & we were thrilled there's a Vegan spot w/an extensive menu. So, we ordered a bunch of things as this is our only meal for the day. Every item we ordered was somehow subpar w/some not even having the ingredients they advertised. For instance: They describe their Moo Shu Basil Roll as "Jícama, crushed peanuts, and basil wrapped in a rice wrap" -the tasteless roll we got had only crushed peanuts in it, NO JICAMA, NO BASIL, not even a trace. Look, we understand kitchens ran out of things, then don't treat your customers as if they are idiots. Cause this is exactly what they did and it is not acceptable. The sauce they brought w/the Scallion Pancakes was industrial (and disgusting), matter of factly all of their sauces are similar -this includes the sauce for the spring roll, & the also the Moo Shu Basil roll. The Sushi roll was meh -we had better vegan sushi rolls in smaller restaurants. The Hot & Sour soup they brought w/ the main courses was the most tasteless ever -it was just peppery & not sour enough. How does a Chinese restaurant messes that up? The only thing that was a 2 star grade was their Eggplant in Garlic Sauce & their Veg Noodles. We ordered an Orange Chicken dish which was also subpar. Nothing popped, all flat & similar flavors (as somebody else who gave a 1 star a year ago or two said). Veggie Heaven used to be my go to spot in Montclair. I hadn't been back in a while so I took a trip over there. Got there around 1 and we were seated right away. It was really uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. It was an 88 degree day and it was breezier outside than in the shop. I was glad to see they still had their lunch special options. Tons of plates for around 7-9 dollars which is a great deal these days. We started with the assorted dim sum which is always good, the yam fries and the scallion pancake. All were good, I wish the pancakes had more scallions but the dim sum was great. I got the general tsao chicken and it was alright, the texture is different from the last time I remember it. My boyfriend got pork lo mein and that was very tasty. Service is great yes, but to a point where they are all so on top of you that they take away the plates too quickly and almost rush you out, the place was nearly empty and I felt a little rushed. It's alright, it was good to go back outside into the breeze. Overall, I might have went on an off day. I do love that they have so many veggie options. I really like the concept of this establishment. I had the wonton soup which was delicious. The veggie roll was disappointing as the veggies inside lacked that crispy texture I am used to. The avocado walnut salad was incredibly disappointing as the greens were all wilted and brown, not fresh and super bitter. I would have selected other options if the "chicken or beef" menu options would explain what the "chicken or beef" was made of. All in all as a first time thing this place I am disappointed at the quality of the salad and veggie roll all together. I consider myself a deeply spiritual person and want to understand more about myself and the world around me, so if there's a Veggie Deity out there, I want to get to know Him. The only thing provided in terms of a sacred text is a small scroll, set up like a placemat at every table. It's short, entitled "Welcome to Veggie Heaven". Alas, just by entering the doors of this sacred place, you've entered the Kingdom of Veggie Heaven. It begins "You are what you eat." Then apparently I can become General Tso himself. Unbelievable. Met a friend here for lunch. What a nice inviting room - lots of space and the service was terrific. For Appetizers we split spicy dumplings and scallion pancakes. Both were great! For lunch, the faux chicken was pretty good - you'd have a hard telling the difference. My friend and I split the General's Chicken and the Ginger Chicken. Nice size portions and delicious. Certainly it is a great option for vegetarians in Essex County, even if the food is not as flavorful as the other locations, at least what I got. Good: wonton soup with spinach and mushrooms. Tasty, healthy, can't complain. Pretty good: sizzling beef. Had a bunch of vegetables. Respectable. Disappointing: eggplant with garlic sauce was completely bland and had no flavor. When I walked in the man greeted me and gave me my food. It cost about $12 altogether.
