The Raclette Sandwich from Baked Cheese Haus at Green City Market. Sooooo good!

We take the puppers to the dog park at Mary Barteleme Park nearly everyday. 6 days a week they get to have their fun with all the other pups at the park. Oooooooo! But on Saturday mornings we get in on the fun at Green City Market which sets up in the park with many vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, coffee, and tasty treats among other goodies. Our favorites are Kikwetu Kenyan Coffee and Baked Cheese Haus. Kikwetu offers great coffee as well as their signature flavors. We love the Lavender Bee and the Bourbon BAE. The lavender bee has great lavender taste with honey and oat-milk mixed with their cold brew. This is soooo good! The bourbon BAE has maple aged in bourbon barrels mixed with milk and their cold brew. This is awesome! While you are enjoying the coffee, wander back past all the other vendors to the far end of the park and check out Baked Cheese Haus. The Raclette sandwiches here are truly special! They are served on a generously sized baguette and come in several versions. We love the Traditionnel which comes with the luscious melted Raclette cheese accented with spring onions, baby gherkins, and Dijon mustard. So much anticipation as the melty goodness is scraped off the wheel of cheese onto the waiting bread! Delicious! There are also other options with the Jambon Fume which adds smoked ham and the Suisse Champignon with its sautéed mushrooms. Any of the three are very tasty. Too bad the Green City Market only happens once per week. Everyday should be Kikwetu coffee and Raclette sandwich day! Yum!

I visited here for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised to see a wide variety of vendors from coffee stands, to bakers, to fruit and vegetable farmers, cheese makers, eggs, meats and more! I had never even heard of some of the vegetables that were there which made for a fun experience. I heard that on the weekends the market is even bigger and better! I will be returning!

So very happy to have this in my neighborhood. Please spread the word in the West Loop and support this wonderful farmers market. I can get all of the things I need to prepare a fabulous, seasonal meal and it's just blocks from my apartment. The hardest thing is limiting my purchases to what I can carry home on my bike! Please tell all your friends and neighbors to check it out!

A great location that meets an empty spot in the West Loop. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and everything else you'd expect to find at your local farmers market is here. Let's hope it takes off!

First time checking out the Green City Market on Fulton. Small but nice Famers Market for a early morning Saturday stroll. Was hoping for more flower venders, mostly fruits and veggies, a local pie shop and bread company. Walking distance from Glazed and Infused donut shop along with a few good restaurants for brunch/lunch. Picked up beautiful Tuberose, I would definitely check out the market again to see if the venders change weekly.

OMG! Green City Market is a Farmer's Market in Lincoln Park, Chicago …read more.. I absolutely loved every single vendor there! They had the most amazing veggies and fresh fruits from around the Midwest. We purchased various varieties of peppers, and of course, my favorite is the Gypsy Yellow bell pepper! I found a very rare Round Red Pepper, which is a Hungarian variety. The butter beans were so delicious, I used them in a soup, what I made in my daughter's kitchen. We bought some baked goods from a vendor. The Almond croissant was delicious, but the plain croissant was completely uneatable, because it was dry as a rock! The French baguette was delicious. We used it for dipping in olive oil, which my daughter brought home from Croatia. The Farmers Market is open from Spring till early Fall. I can't wait to go back when I'm in Chicago again!

This market is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7a-1p. It is a market that I'd recommend coming on the earlier end as it does get super crowded and most vendors do sell out towards the early afternoon. For this particular experience we went around 7:30am. For parking you can park in the Chicago History Museums parking lot, the booths have a validation card that help lower the costs down when you go and pay. (Be sure to pick one up at the Green City Market booth as you leave.) There are so many goodies, I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll start with my favorite part, it is an outdoor market and it is pet friendly. We brought our girl, Luna along and she made so many incredible new friends while walking around. It's so fun to see folks walking with their pups, and so many pup vendors for them to enjoy as well. We started our morning off by looking at some of the produce and baked goods, and those tend to get bought out first. We got to a few booths around 8am and they were already starting to sell out of baked goods. Once of my favorites was the pastry from the Eden booth. It had a variety of carrots and whipped ricotta cream on it. The perfect light and savory treat to share. We also grabbed a quiche and a breakfast sandwich to share from other booths, and this is when it started getting rather busy as the market. After buying our produce, we circled back to grab a grilled cheese for the road. When we walked up the line was starting to form, and by the time we got our sandwich (we waited 45 minutes for it) there was a line allllll the way around and more. Some folks waited a goood about of time for it, but the quality and taste were just the same no matter how long you wait because they crank those bad boys out fresh. We ended our morning by purchasing some fresh potatoes and leeks, along with freshly made potato Perogis from Daisies to make for dinner. Although it's quite the distance to drive every weekend, it's always a treat and we love supporting the local booths at the market. Can't wait for our next visit.

While walking around, I kept smelling something really good and basically followed the scent until I found the Baked Cheese Haus booth. Soon as I saw them scraping all that melted cheese over the sandwiches, I already knew I was getting one. I went with the Jambon Cru. Melted raclette scraped over cured ham on toasted baguette with spring onions, baby gherkins, and Dijon. And wow... this thing was a cheesy overload. So much melted cheese, rich, creamy, and warm. The baguette was toasted with that nice crunch, sturdy enough to hold all of it together. Then the gherkins and Dijon came in and cut through all that richness with a little tang and sharpness, which made every bite better. Messy, cheesy, a little ridiculous honestly. The whole market has such a fun vibe too. Busy, lots of people walking around, fresh produce everywhere, live energy all around. The people at the booth were super friendly too. Now I'm seriously about to go to Wisconsin just to find them again.

There are generators everywhere allowing food to be fried, roasted, sautéed fresh...in a park. For me, the constant hum kinda diminishes the atmosphere. Look, I like this place. But it's _OK_. Variety of vendors (all expensive). Decent food. Community vibe. But nothing stellar. Honest review I once heard: someone standing in front of me was like "I am so glad the market is back it's like having air again." This person needs psychiatric help.

She had all her assistants harass not just me but other women who had their service animals with them. She Finally crossed a line when she grabbed me by my shoulder with an air of Authority to insist I keep my poor submissive dog on a tighter lead. I've been shopping here regularly and Judy intentionally harasses anyone with a dog ruining their shopping experience. I've asked the farmers here on numerous occasions if dogs are not allowed and why Judy holds so much aggression and contention for dog owners and they all told me they love dogs and they have NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER if a dog attends this market. My dog doesn't bark, never has "accidents " here, doesn't do anything destructive and if anything he tends to hide from strangers here who try to pet him. I'm allowed to have a dog here and Judy who runs Soar's makes everyone with a dog absolutely miserable. If you want to see a change perhaps write a truthful review of how you were treated while bringing your service dog here to this particular location! Soars is a 5 star experience but I'm deducting the two extra stars because I don't like complete strangers grabbing me by the shoulder especially now with monkeypox going rampant here! The flowers, fruits, vegetables, iced coffee and breads are wonderful here. If Judy is allowed to harass and grab us at will I'm not sure i feel safe here. I feel so sorry for my new puppy . Judy absolutely spoiled our shopping experience and she needs to keep her hands to herself
