They took the time to look beyond just my teeth and helped me understand how airway blockage was impacting my sleep quality and overall health. I had no idea that my nighttime grinding and not feeling fully rested could be connected to restricted airflow. They recommended a custom Homeo therapeutics block (kind of like a mouthguard) designed to help expand my airway, improve breathing, and create more space for my tongue while I sleep. Since learning about this connection, everything has made so much more sense--not just for improving my sleep, but also for reducing that constant tired look during the day. TLDR: read the 70+ other 1-star reviews & FIND ANOTHER DENTIST I'm embarrassed to say that I unfortunately got suckered by this practice to the tune of almost $20K, but I am hoping that sharing my mistake will save others from going down the same road. I reached out for an assessment of my dental alignment and potential treatment, as the website promises expert skill in addressing these. My appointment started with a 'tour' of the office (a monologue of how successful, amazing, and generous Dr. Patel is, along with a signed copy of her book). I was charged more than $2400 for an 'initial exam' (x-rays and photographs to determine my 'treatment plan' and a 2-night home sleep study). This seemed high to me. I now know that it is about 3-4x what most skilled dentists would charge for an equivalent exam. For example, at my new dentist, I was given all the same tests, as well as several important assessments that Dr. P did not do, and a 3-night sleep study - for $750. In terms of treatment, I was told that it would cost over $28,000 (in addition to the 'initial exam') for the Vivos treatment Dr. P recommended. (They knocked $5K off when I balked, to $24,450) Sadly, I ended up going through with signing on since I was now scared that I needed to jump on this scary diagnosis (Dr. P said I could 'die ten years earlier' if I didn't get treatment). The office required a $5K deposit plus a monthly payment of more than $1K before starting treatment. I started payment in Aug 2023 and was charged monthly, even though the 'treatment' didn't begin until November (translation: I had paid more than $10K before we even started). In November I was handed a Vivos appliance at a brief office visit (an appliance listed at a cost of under $2K on Vivos' own retail pricing sheet), and told to come back in 3 months for a check-in. These every-3-month 'treatments' consisted of Dr. Patel spending 5-10 minutes with me, saying 'You look great! Keep going!' (for this I was charged $1K+/month, or about $3K per 'treatment'). After my 3rd 'treatment' visit (July 2024), and after expressing concerns numerous times that were not addressed, I called the office to terminate treatment. Dr. Patel verbally and in writing assured me I would receive a refund for the 'remaining services' (the 2+ years of 'treatment' I had not yet received, though I had at this point paid more than 70% of their total treatment plan, over $16K). They sent me a ridiculously miscalculated 'refund' check that represented a small percentage of what I was owed. Sadly, I am not the only one to fall for this scam. PLEASE read the 70+ other 1-star reviews here on Yelp and take them seriously. Green Dentistry is corrupt, deceitful, and takes advantage of the holistic title. To those who have had a similar experience, please consider reporting this practice to the dental board and the BBB as I am, to protect others. As terrible as my experience was with Green Dentistry, the silver lining is that I have found a great new dentist who is fairly priced, addresses my concerns immediately, and has provided real treatment that has significantly improved my alignment issues in a number of months (not years as Dr. P insisted it would take). read more
