over-priced and average like many corner store/ groceries in the periphery of touristy adjacent areas. clean brightly-lit store with a deli area, grocery items, and convenience store goods neatly packed throughout within a few blocks of the theater district and Times Square. stopped here for on-the-go calories aka a small bag of generic chips (nothing fancy or branded)...the price...almost $5. Oof.! the same bag of chips a few blocks away--a $1 and change. the lesson--caveat emptor. yeah, i get it...inflation, price gouging, welcome to New York, etc. the service is fine and quick. anyway businesses like this exist because they are convenient and exist in an area where everything is priced like it is in some late stage capitalism dead cat bounce. native New Yorkers who don't know better, clueless tourists, and ME, apparently are how these places stay in business lol--it's all good, just part of the game. read more

This is a nice little store offering produce, sandwiches and snacks, flowers, convenience items and such. It is located in the theater district. I was hungry for a snack but I wanted to eat light since I wanted to save some of my appetite for the dinner plans that I had at a restaurant later that evening. So I went into the store and purchased one of the very delicious fruit cups that they were selling. The portion size was perfect and it made a great snack to tide me over until dinner. The fruit was very fresh and tasty. I saw some people with sandwiches that looked very delicious so I think that the next time I am visiting the area I will stop by for a sandwich just to try the place for their sandwiches. The service was good and I will be sure to come back to this store. read more

If you're staying at the Civilian the Green Emporium is easily accessible (out to the left and immediately around the corner). I have been to the shop twice now and both times were pleasant. They have a variety of items to buy, including (which I didn't realize the first time around) a menu you can order off of. My spouse ordered a plain ol' cheeseburger and wow! Do not judge a book by its cover. This cheeseburger was juicy, and tasty. The next time I'm around I 100% would like to try breakfast. There is no seating (if I remember correctly) it's more of a grab and go and then you can also pick up other items in store. read more

Not sure why the bad reviews. I've had nothing but positive experiences since moving into the neighborhood (work-wise). They've got some nice lunch specials. I usually get the Italian sandwich on hero bread, but the Philly cheesteak is also solid. You can get that and a water or soda for $8 which is a deal these days. The folks behind the counters are quick and the counter people, including the owners, are very friendly. It's one of my go-to delis. read more

This is my trusty neighborhood bodega. It's Korean owned and run by the owner's family and some Mexican folks. They sell everything from toilet paper, to Japanese Pokki sticks, to fresh fruit, to freshly made salads/sandwiches, to flower arrangements. They deliver and they're usually pretty quick except during peak periods in the evenings after 10pm. Occasionally though they have someone taking phone orders who needs to work on their English or on their courtesy of their tone or both. Their prices are a bit high but average for a bodega in midtown. read more

Costa Rican native Korean owners run the show at this joint, where the flowers are blooming and the groceries are limited. Shopping here for your average bodega items that go from household stuff to international phone cards is fine, but be prepared to shell out cash unless your purchase exceeds $10.00. Don't go for any of the sandwiches unless its breakfast time otherwise forget it after 8PM as most of the meats / salads look nastier than Woody Harrelson's landlord in King Pin. What is the clear winner here is their selection of flowers which have always come in handy for any last minute occasions. The lilies, dandelions, roses, and assorted bouquets are definitely decent and they seem to change up their stock of flowers each day with pain staking care every morning and night. This is practically the only reason I visit the place at all and their very good customer service. read more

Went here to pick up some last minute flora. Their selection is pretty good with most items looking mighty fresh despite visiting it late at night. All the staff seem super friendly especially the guy out front tending to the various flora and fauna. Pricing is pretty standard in comparison with the other vendors around. read more

This review is for the quality of the panini sandwiches ONLY. I was staying in a corporate apartment nearby for a week, beaten down by Midtown and looking for a quick-but-healthful meal on a hot Wednesday night. I popped in here and ordered up a turkey panini. It was delicious. The cashier was a jerk (wouldn't give me a receipt until I got all New York on him) but the guy grilling my sandwich was nice. Grocery selection is limited, but I wasn't there for that. Great sandwiches. I went back to get one for my husband when he flew in from Seattle. read more

We got breakfast here during a recent stay in a hotel up the street. The hotel offered a continental breakfast for $15 or a full buffet for $20. We got breakfast sandwiches and drinks for the three of us for around $20. They were pretty tasty, and just enough to fuel us for our busy day! read more

This is your standard bodega-style shop with all usual odds and ends. If it were not for the fact that I live across the street, I would avoid the food entirely. Breakfast is ok, but the meats and salads look a little too, ahem, aged. One redeeming quality is their selection of flowers for last minute occasions. Just like others have said most people are rude they are over priced and still rip you off. I just bought a sandwich and on the menu says 5.85 they charged me 6.50 said prices are up. I told them that's not what the menu says and the ones that are changed you changed them. The guy just shrugged at me. There have been plenty of times i found expired food. Bagels & sandwiches are good. Prices are reasonable. The service is good... once they get to know you. Prices on items in the market are similar to the supermarkets in the area and it's much faster to get in and get out. read more

I lived in Hell's Kitchen for 4 years, and this was my go-to sandwich spot, so this review is directed toward their sandwiches. I have nothing but good things to say about these sandwiches, and having access to them 24 hours a day is one of the things I miss most about living there. They do everything that many bodegas do not. They grill the meat instead of microwaving it. They crisp the bacon before putting it on. They melt the cheese on the meat while it's grilling instead of just letting it melt on the sandwich. They use good ingredients and copious quantities of them. My highest recommendation goes to the 'K2', a delicious concoction of chicken cutlet, bacon, mozzarella and honey mustard. read more
