We have been away from New England too long, so we were craving shrimp and lobster sauce. Lunch included soup- I had wonton, my husband had very tangy sweet and sour soup. He loved his egg roll, I had two delicious rangoons. Our cousin ordered a Pupu platter. It was loaded with fine looking food! I only tasted a chicken wing. The value here is really the draw. I have been to Green Ginger enough times now that I have worked my way through a lot of the lunch specials. Kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, a few others. They are all solid and generous. That is why this place keeps ending up in our rotation when we are in Tilton around lunchtime. That said, the ginger stir fried chicken with green beans stands above the rest. It is easily my favorite thing on the menu and the one I come back to most often. They do not treat ginger like a background note here. You get real, chunky pieces mixed throughout the dish, giving it a sharp warmth that cuts through the sauce. The chicken stays tender, the green beans still have some snap, and the whole thing avoids that overly sweet. The hot and sour soup is also worth ordering. It has a nice tang and a little heat. I still have not tried the beef teriyaki, but it keeps catching my eye when plates pass by, glossy and piled high. Service is great, friendly and efficient. Honolulu chicken had not one single pineapple in it and description said come with pineapple and veggies in spicy sweet and sour. Szechuan chicken I ordered based on door dash photo they have that looks like crispy chicken pieces with spicy peppercorn and whole red peppers. My family and I drove by and decided to give Green Ginger a try. We noticed all the awards on the wall and were immediately impressed, but not as impressed as we were once we got our meal. The one star is for whoever packaged the food. It was nicely plastic wrapped. Everything else - I have never in my entire life had any food that was this flavorless. I didn't know you could take the flavor of beef out of beef while still there being no other flavor. The sauce was watery, gooey and of course - flavorless. Brown soy water would have been better. The beef was mushy like it had been injected with something? Truly your chefs have perfected the art of altered food. I honestly don't know if this beef was even "beef". The dumpling in the wonton soup tasted like pure chemicals. I considered bringing back my food and asking for a refund. I may still do that tomorrow. They serve pretty good Chinese food for the area and, unlike many Chinese restaurants, dining in is a good option and there is a full bar. The menu is a mix of Chinese and Japanese, including sushi. We've eaten here many times and find that most of the Chinese dishes are pretty good. On the Japanese side, my wife likes the bento boxes. The sushi quality varies from visit to visit. The issue is not the quality of the fish but sometimes the preparation could be better. For instance, the last couple of visits where I have ordered sushi, the seaweed on the rolls has been chewy. This happens if its been sitting out in a humid environment too long. But, as there are very few sushi options near by, we live with it. read more

If you're looking for a bad meal and rude customer service then this is the place! I had been traveling and wanted a quick takeout meal so I ordered a broccoli and garlic sauce lunch and a teriyaki salmon, thinking I could make a somewhat healthy meal out of it. The salmon was tiny - like 3 ounces and absolutely swimming is a disgusting amount of sauce. It was also extremely overcooked to the point that it was like leather. For $16.95 it came with four pieces of onion, one piece of broccoli and no rice. This was the regular dinner sized portion. What kind of Asian restaurant doesn't serve rice as a side with a meal? These cheap f*ckers, that's who! The broccoli and garlic sauce was just as bad. It did come with rice and was all in the same container so the excessive amount of sauce from the broccoli soaked into the rice leaving me with a saturated soggy pile of inedible mess and about 5 pieces of broccoli that was mostly stem and very little top. So into the garbage it went along side the salmon. For $29 I got nothing except for a bowl of Cheerios from my Airbnb kitchen. I was actually annoyed enough I called them to give my feedback of the meal ( not looking for anything because I'll never step foot in this dump again) . The man who answered the phone was extremely rude and immediately defensive. Instead of listening to me explain what was wrong with my meal he proceeded to raise his voice to the point of yelling at me, interrupted me and continued to do this for almost 10 minutes. He said since the broccoli and garlic sauce was a lunch combo it HAD to be plated with the rice and that in 20 years no one ever complained about this. Are they really so cheap that they cant give a separate little box for rice , you know like how EVERY Asian restrain the planet does?! He also commented on my phone number not being a local area code as if my not being local made my complaint less valid. I told him I had lived in the area for many years and visited often and my phone number had no bearing on this. Unless he was trying to imply that non local guests are irrelevant somehow , then in that case he's a moron as well as rude. SERVICE, Slow! My party arrived (2 of us) and were seated immediately and then we waited....and waited and waited. The place was dead except for another couple dinning and a group of 9.
