Quaint and cozy! This is how I would describe the feeling of Green Goddess. I stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast and after walking in I decided to stay and sit down rather than do a quick run back to my Airbnb. I ordered the Athena Scramble which had 3 eggs, mushrooms, spinach and feta. It was filling and came out hot and very quickly. I also ordered a Caramel Latte and it was the perfect amount of sweet without overdoing it. The menu options are rather large for a smaller cafe and they offer breakfast, lunch, coffee, pastries, smoothies and boozy options. They also have a lot of vegetarian/ healthy dishes available. The biggest takeaway from my experience was how friendly the staff was. When you order they make a note to remember your name and it keeps the place a family feel. We got 3 breakfast items- carnitas Benedict, the simple, and pancakes. Carnitas was actually just thin slices of ham deli ham. False advertisement! $16 The simple was 2 eggs, 1 whole piece of toast, and a choice of bacon, sausage, or another option. Except you are really only getting 3 bacon crumbles... $12 Both meals had a few pieces of home fries. Pancakes- great sized, but taste was terrible. We usually bring home leftovers but it was so bad we just discarded it. Overall, taste was mediocre but we definitely felt skimped on portion, as prices were not cheap. This place was very recommended on Yelp but we left feeling upset and scammed. Would not recommend for breakfast. read more

Great little cafe for some healthy (but delicious) eating! It was raining in Stowe and I was really craving some soup and the boyfriend wanted salad, so we chose to check this place out. You can order sandwiches and other items off their chalkboard menu as well as make-your-own salads. There are directions at the front of the restaurant on how to select your options for the salad (picture included) and oh MAN the salad was HUGE! It's a giant portion and the bowl that they used was beautiful and colorful. We also ordered the pork carnita wrap and a Thai curry soup to share. The wrap was on the smaller size (or maybe it just looked smaller compared to the large salad) and the soup was so good and cozy. Mixed reviews in my first breakfast experience here. The online order was on time and the food was fairly good. A couple of suggestions - on the online app there isn't an option for type of toast. and even if there is only one type, it was either unbuttered or barely buttered whereas I expected buttered. The eggs and potatoes came with no condiments - hot sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper - and again this is something I'm used to getting in a takeout order. I'm sure these things can be specified while ordering but my point is a lot of people will expect them and not ask and it will lessen their experience and likelihood of returning. read more

Counter staff is disinterested at best - no greeting ("hello" or "good morning"), no smile. When I asked for napkins (they were out) it's as though I was asking too much. The staff at Green Goddess Cafe in Stowe is fantastic! They were super helpful, accommodating, and the food was terrific. We tried the cubano and lavender lemonade and enjoyed both! Really good sandwich or salad joint where you want soemthing quick , not sit down (but they have tables there to eat) and fresh. Hubby and I loved our sandwich pesto chicken and bird and bread? Only issue was the sauce factor. Mine was supposed to have pesto and I saw a very thin spread of green not much , and hubby's had mustard but not much. Maybe need to ask for a side:) . If your looking for a great place to eat breakfast or lunch this is the place!! I've eaten here a couple of times and every time my experience has been over the top wonderful. When you walk in your automatically greeted with a "hello", "good morning", "good afternoon" the menu is bright and easy to read, the girls behind the counter or super friendly and very knowledgeable. Every time I order first words out of their mouth are "how are you today" and "how can I help you" when I order the girls are super quick and read back to me what I ordered to make sure they get my order right and if I want to add anything. The smoothies are super delicious, I always get the Dirty Monkey with peanut butter, and they always bring out a different blender to make sure they aren't cross contaminating anything(I have no nut allergies) but if makes me feel super good knowing the girls are mindful of that. The food is always hot and the portions are big!! The salads are more then I can eat( so I always get a container for left overs). The girls are always cleaning and as soon as other customers leave they are immediately cleaning the tables and resetting for other customers. When they are busy they are nice to apologize and let me know there's a wait for me food. Honestly if I could give more then 5 stars I would!! read more

Stopped for lunch yesterday. What's the saying... "one and done". It must be popular as there were many take-out orders being processed. We each ordered a sandwich. For the price the kitchen may want to add a pickle in the basket to make it look like you are getting something for your money. There was also a mix-up in my order and when I went to the counter to ask about it(you pick up your own food at the counter) I was told it was not on the order. I returned to the counter with my receipt and waited as the woman who had just helped me decided to interact with someone who had just walked up to the counter and was viewing the menu on the wall. As they were about to finish another staff member came up to me and I showed her my receipt. She walked to the kitchen and I waited. Several minutes later she returned and told me they were out of the item and that she would refund the amount. As I knew my husband wanted to start eating, I asked if the receipt would be brought to my table. I returned to a sandwich that consisted of a slab of mozzarella, one spinach leaf on each half and maybe a drop of pesto. All this, and for the price to which I added a nice tip, you get to clean up your own table. read more

This was a great lunch spot for our New England fall colors road trip. We decided to stop here before heading to the most scenic stretch of of 100 going from Waterbury, VT down to Killington, VT. The sandwich were fresh and delicious, especially the ingredients and bread. I had the sweet cali and GF had the butternut squash soup and chicken pesto panini. I HIGHLY recommend the Maple Kombucha. Pretty disappointed. Just waited in line for 15+ minutes (understandable, it's busy during lunch) and ordered a Buffalo Chicken wrap. When I received said wrap, it was missing the blue cheese. I waited in line again to ask for it, and was told they're changing the menu and that they didn't have blue cheese after all. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they had offered an alternative, but since the wrap is listed on the menu with blue cheese it was pretty disappointing and not worth my wait. I also paid roughly 12 dollars for the wrap (after tip). Next time I'll take my money elsewhere and get what is advertised. read more

I felt that I did not get bang for my buck - and that usually never sits right with me. Also, a refill on coffee will cost you. My food was "just ok"....except for the rosemary home fries which was the MVP of the meal. There was no table service but the lady at the counter was friendly. I recently wrote an honest and fair review for this restaurant based on my experience. I said it was just ok and overpriced. One day later some one who works at the restaurant (Athena) sent me a nasty message on Yelp. Apparently they don't understand the idea behind Yelp . The idea behind Yelp is to provide consumers with a place to write reviews. This is what she wrote: "You have every write to visit a social forum and critique those that are in the business of serving others in the hope of making someones day. Spending your quality time tearing others down trying to make a living- that's completely your right...We respect that and there are so many others like you. " This is hilarious (and not just because of her poor spelling). They are in business to make money or a breakfast "scramble" entree and a side of bacon wouldn't cost $14.85. I did not even have a drink. The way to attract customers is NOT to send nasty messages to customers accusing them of being bad people who tear others down. I would not recommend going to this business purely on principle of decency. read more

We went here last year pre-covid and it was a 5 star experience. Amazing food and service. This year we came back hoping for the same experience and were sad to see how Covid has wrecked havoc on this great small business. I get that they're trying their best and have to work with a smaller more limited menu. However, we had some gripes that just should be better regardless. There's no indoor anything anymore here. Other restaurants allow inside dining with distanced seating but here you cannot even enter the building to place an order. All orders are placed online or via phone. We ordered two wraps which were over $9 a piece. They tasted just fine and were SMALL. Like the size of a McDonald's snack wrap. Very light on the filling as well. Most bites were of tortilla. The kicker for us was while we were ORDERING our food over the phone (two wraps, soup, and two waters came to nearly $40) the person taking the order actually asked us if we wanted to leave a tip! A tip for what service?! I've never had someone ask for a tip while taking an order for takeout. We gave a tip and left with a bad taste in our mouths. This place should knock off asking for tips on takeout and either lower their prices or give decent portions. And... as soon as practicable allow customers to enter the store in limited capacity while wearing masks and socially distancing. We will be back when that happens! I write this to let people know the experience to expect when going during covid since every restaurant handles safety protocols differently. read more

This is our "go to" for lunch whenever we are in Stowe. We always have salads which are generous in both size and ingredients. In the summer months it's nice to eat out on the porch.
