It's situated right in the heart of Main St across from the iconic steepled church and offers a wonderful breakfast. We opted to join their waitlist but they were able to seat us as soon as we arrived. Their menu has a lot of breakfast options but the jalapeño cheddar pancakes were out of this world. This is a must try restaurant for breakfast. Two hour wait when we walked in for a couple. We almost left but glad we stayed. We were seated within 30 minutes! Electronic kiosk at door to place names on list. The restaurant is also an inn so you will have the guests coming down for meals. Not sure if they have preferential treatment for seating. The restaurant oozes vintage New England ambiance. It is a rustic dining area with big bar area. There is limited seating which explains the long wait times. We ordered a coffee, tea, and fresh squeezed orange juice. I was served a very good cup of coffee and they offered a small box full of various tea options. They do have full bar so brunch drinks are definitely offered. I asked the server for the must try menu item, "French toast!" before I finished the question. So I ordered the butler's pantry breakfast with maple sausage and ONE slice of French toast. My lady ordered meat lovers egg white omelette. Both breakfasts included home fries and their home made buttermilk biscuits! The omelette was prepared with farm fresh eggs, chunky ham, maple sausage, and bacon with melted cheese. The home fries may have been slightly over cooked. The French toast did not disappoint with Vermont maple syrup and powdered sugar. Both meals were worth the wait. Now the patrons next to us ordered jalapeño cheddar pancakes smothered in hollandaise sauce and syrup! Are you kidding me? That guy looked me dead in the eye and without speaking one word. One of the greatest breakfasts of my life! Walked into this dreamy sunlit cafe 8am on a Monday and had the most incredible homemade biscuit with egg and cheese and this sweet maple sausage that was so out of this world, we ordered more on the side. Got a side of Blueberry pancakes with Vermont maple syrup, which were everything you want pancakes to be, as was the side of French toast sticks made from their biscuit, slightly crunchier than the average French toast and so good. I got an Açaí bowl with a side of maple sausage (as she rec'd it) and 1. The maple sausage may be the best thing I've ever had for breakfast 2. Small and quaint, staff was super helpful and she did excellent with the amount of people in and out during the short time we were there. We had a bit of a wait but it wasnt a problem since there are cute little stores around the area. There were 4 of us so we made sure to try almost everything on the menu- its not a lot on the menu but what they do have, they sure have mastered it. We ordered: pantry breakfast (basically the grand slam of Dennys), acai bowl, mixed biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, a glass of OJ, and a pancake to share. Everything was amazing. Everyone was happy with their meal. The only thing that threw us off was the maple sausage- although we were warned so we dont hold it against them. The maple sausage was a sausage made with maple and spices- not too sweet but its definitely different. Its either you love it or its not for you and for most of is it wasnt it. I came here for breakfast with my boyfriend this morning and can confidently say it's one of the best breakfasts I've ever had!! We were seated at the bar, and the bartender/server manning the bar was so great. He provided so many wonderful recommendations and was so friendly! I ordered the standard breakfast, and my boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. Their homemade maple sausage is out of this world as are the biscuits and home fries! We also shared two slices of the challah French toast with fresh Vermont maple syrup, which were so rich and flavorful! We joined the waitlist through Yelp, and the entire process was incredibly smooth. Upon entering, there was an iPad available to confirm our arrival. We had a short wait, but it wasn't too long. Our server was nice enough but not overly nice- you knew he wanted to turn tables. Our food came out pretty quickly. All was great- except for my daughter's toast- it was overcooked and hard. I had the eggs Benedict, which on the biscuit just melted in your mouth. The home fries with cheddar were good too. Decaf coffee wasn't so great. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had!! Butler's pantry absolutely lives up to the hype and a must visit while in stowe. I would certainly recommend utilizing the yelp waitlist function as lines were up to an 1.5hr wait starting at 8:30am on a Sunday - so plan ahead :). Inside an old rustic house, butlers pantry has a homey comforting ambiance. Service was super efficient to keep the flow going without feeling like they're rushing you and helpful with suggestions and recommendations. We split the jalapeno cheddar pancakes and oh my - that paired with the hollandaise sauce and maple syrup was such a delicious savory, salty, sweet, spicy combo. I will be dreaming of these pancakes - a must order. We also had the biscuits with the maple sausage gravy - heaven. My personal favorite biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were buttery and soft and the gravy was so flavorful and hearty. A filling and delicious meal i cannot wait to have again. read more

The biscuit's toasted texture provided well-needed contrast. The maple sausage practically oozed maple syrup. There was already a 2 hour wait at that point which gave us time to get ready, park and peruse the shops. We sat at the bar which seemed to be the place we ended up sitting to eat all weekend in Stowe. I loved the old bar style - rich dark wood, thick countertops, quaint restaurant. There were like very lights by the bar and they sat us by the window as requested. It was a really nice place. Definitely go early because if you go a little bit later you're going to have a wait. For entre we split the Twin beef tenderloin with smashed potatoes asperagus and the surprise artistic element of shaved and crisped horseradish on top. The butlers pantry IS worth the wait. We got on the waitlist that was about an hour long, and when the food came I could easily see why. Delicious, homemade, and filling! The maple sausage was incredible. But the BISCUIT. I'm not even a biscuit lover but I wish I could have one of these every morning. I stole some bites of my boyfriend's pancake as well, and regretted not ordering some myself. The cozy atmosphere made our breakfast that much more special. We spent only one night in Stowe and were told the best place for breakfast was Butler's Pantry. I wish I could remember who recommended it for us so I could thank them personally. We brought our little dog and they were very accommodating of her at the outdoor dining section which was beautiful. The red table umbrellas were the perfect foreground while admiring the gorgeous church across the street. My wife and I both got blueberry pancakes with maple sausage and a fruit cup. Without question the best pancakes I've ever had and the best sausage I've ever had. Probably the best breakfast I've ever had in my 60 years of consuming. Service was outstanding. This place has potential, and judging by being completely packed it's very popular. But.. 2 fatal flaws. Scrambled eggs came out totally brown which I personally despise and find unforgiveable. The maple sausage and gravy was just to sweet in the flavor profile. If not for those 2 thing this place could be epic. Way way way to sweet. Gravy should be savory not sweet. I suspect the homemade maple sausage is to blame. Cut the maple In your sausage by half and you'll have a much better product. Service was fantastic and brought the 2 star to 3. read more
