It's situated right in the heart of Main St across from the iconic steepled church and offers a wonderful breakfast. We opted to join their waitlist but they were able to seat us as soon as we arrived. Their menu has a lot of breakfast options but the jalapeño cheddar pancakes were out of this world. Came here for dinner and would recommend coming for breakfast instead as dinner was subpar. Service was friendly and they weren't busy on a Monday night. Didn't have a reservation and there were plenty of open tables. Not a huge menu, but got a Caesar salad, little neck clams, and a side of tallow fried Brussels sprouts. They all came out at once, which was a little odd because I would've preferred the salad first. The Caesar salad was extremely large, you could easily share it between two if not three people. The croutons were good. The romaine was very white/stems though, I prefer more of the leafy green part but this was pretty much all crunch white stems. The clams were alright but I would've preferred the Cajun garlic white wine sauce, not the creamy tomato sauce they make it with now. The clams were all opened but most of them were not warm besides the bottom ones in the sauce. The Brussels sprouts was a tiny portion and very dried out. Certainly not worth the $9 for a side. They had no flavor either, it's like they had been cooked earlier in the day and just sat under the heater or re heated. Service was fine. This would've been around a 3 star experience, as I left with a pretty mediocre impression, however less than a few hours later I started feeling very sick and got diarrhea and started vomiting. I rarely vomit, I don't have a sensitive stomach. The clams must've been bad and I shouldn't have eaten lukewarm clams. This made for a horrible evening. Returned to the Stowe area and made it a point to make it back to butler's pantry. Wasn't quite the pandemonium that it was on Columbus Day but it also wasn't slow either. Used Yelp check in to the waitlist but it was essentially useless as we had to check in and wait when we got there anyway. Hostess seemed confused when I mentioned the waitlist. There was a bunch of outdoor seating in use this time since it wasn't as cold, which seemed to help move the list along. Food was really good, just like our first visit. We had a mix of eggs and French toast and it didn't matter what you ordered as everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The maple sausage is still one of the highlights. It's a little on the pricier side, but the quality justifies the cost. read more

We got here around 9am on a Sunday and only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table inside. Service was friendly and efficient. I got the jalapeno cheddar pancakes which were great. I enjoy the spicy / savory flavor with the syrup. My husband liked his chocolate chip pancake as well. read more

We visited Stowe VT this summer and enjoyed breakfast at the Butler's Pantry. Food is excellent and service is great. I enjoyed the biscuit and gravy. Jared T provided attentive service and the house is interesting old. My wife enjoyed an omelette with several ingredients that add up nicely on the bill (watch out)! The food and service were great. The sausage gravy was extremely delicious and sweet which was different for this southern girl! I will have to say it was probably one of the most expensive breakfast places I've ever eaten. I mean we all know pancakes are one of the cheapest meals you can make so $22.00 for 3 pancakes is just a little crazy (It's just my opinion) Yes they do come with the maple syrup but so does everything else in the whole state ! 3 scrambled eggs should not be 16.50 again my opinion. This is a must try restaurant for breakfast. Two hour wait when we walked in for a couple. We almost left but glad we stayed. We were seated within 30 minutes! Electronic kiosk at door to place names on list. The restaurant is also an inn so you will have the guests coming down for meals. Not sure if they have preferential treatment for seating. The restaurant oozes vintage New England ambiance. It is a rustic dining area with big bar area. There is limited seating which explains the long wait times. We ordered a coffee, tea, and fresh squeezed orange juice. I was served a very good cup of coffee and they offered a small box full of various tea options. They do have full bar so brunch drinks are definitely offered. I asked the server for the must try menu item, "French toast!" before I finished the question. So I ordered the butler's pantry breakfast with maple sausage and ONE slice of French toast. My lady ordered meat lovers egg white omelette. Both breakfasts included home fries and their home made buttermilk biscuits! The omelette was prepared with farm fresh eggs, chunky ham, maple sausage, and bacon with melted cheese. The home fries may have been slightly over cooked. The French toast did not disappoint with Vermont maple syrup and powdered sugar. Both meals were worth the wait. Now the patrons next to us ordered jalapeño cheddar pancakes smothered in hollandaise sauce and syrup! Are you kidding me? That guy looked me dead in the eye and without speaking one word. Walked into this dreamy sunlit cafe 8am on a Monday and had the most incredible homemade biscuit with egg and cheese and this sweet maple sausage that was so out of this world, we ordered more on the side. Got a side of Blueberry pancakes with Vermont maple syrup, which were everything you want pancakes to be, as was the side of French toast sticks made from their biscuit, slightly crunchier than the average French toast and so good. Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. It was a pretty warm day and they have indoor and outdoor dining. They had the doors open so it was hot and sweaty inside. This place is it. Server, food, vibes - I want to eat breakfast here 5/7 days a week. Our server was so kind, and spot on with her follow up, checking in, recs, all. I got an Açaí bowl with a side of maple sausage (as she rec'd it) and 1. The maple sausage may be the best thing I've ever had for breakfast 2. Small and quaint, staff was super helpful and she did excellent with the amount of people in and out during the short time we were there. We had a bit of a wait but it wasnt a problem since there are cute little stores around the area. There were 4 of us so we made sure to try almost everything on the menu- its not a lot on the menu but what they do have, they sure have mastered it. We ordered: pantry breakfast (basically the grand slam of Dennys), acai bowl, mixed biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, a glass of OJ, and a pancake to share. Everything was amazing. Everyone was happy with their meal. The only thing that threw us off was the maple sausage- although we were warned so we dont hold it against them. The maple sausage was a sausage made with maple and spices- not too sweet but its definitely different. Its either you love it or its not for you and for most of is it wasnt it. We joined the waitlist through Yelp, and the entire process was incredibly smooth. Upon entering, there was an iPad available to confirm our arrival. We had a short wait, but it wasn't too long. Our server was nice enough but not overly nice- you knew he wanted to turn tables. Our food came out pretty quickly. All was great- except for my daughter's toast- it was overcooked and hard. I had the eggs Benedict, which on the biscuit just melted in your mouth. The home fries with cheddar were good too. Decaf coffee wasn't so great. I would certainly recommend utilizing the yelp waitlist function as lines were up to an 1.5hr wait starting at 8:30am on a Sunday - so plan ahead :). Inside an old rustic house, butlers pantry has a homey comforting ambiance. Service was super efficient to keep the flow going without feeling like they're rushing you and helpful with suggestions and recommendations. We split the jalapeno cheddar pancakes and oh my - that paired with the hollandaise sauce and maple syrup was such a delicious savory, salty, sweet, spicy combo. I will be dreaming of these pancakes - a must order. We also had the biscuits with the maple sausage gravy - heaven. I got coffee ($3), biscuits & gravy ($17), and a side of maple sausage ($5). Food arrived after 30 minutes. The biscuits and gravy did not skimp on gravy. I debated getting home fries to help lap some of it up. Thankfully, the biscuits had more height than I expected, as they were half submerged in gravy. The gravy proved sweet and mild. The biscuit's toasted texture provided well-needed contrast. The maple sausage practically oozed maple syrup. There was already a 2 hour wait at that point which gave us time to get ready, park and peruse the shops. We sat at the bar which seemed to be the place we ended up sitting to eat all weekend in Stowe. I loved the old bar style - rich dark wood, thick countertops, quaint restaurant.
