Friendly and nice staff. Well lit and it has a lot of choices for food. But the best kept secret!?! Their bagels are heavenly! They are excellent bagels made in Brooklyn and brought to 88th street and York Avenue in Manhattan. Upper East Side. This is probably the best bagel I ever had and I grew up in NyC and ate thousands of bagels here and all over the US. The bagels in NYC are in my opinion the best. Their bagels are Chewy and fluffy and soft and shiny crisp outer cover...Like heaven. And for $1.41 per bagel it's a good solid deal bc they are plush and filling. I ate it plain bc I couldn't wait for cream cheese and other stuff to put on it. I will dress my next bagel w white fish and cream cheese. But even eating it with nothing tastes amazing. They take Apple Pay and cc and cash. You will not regret this bagel and will get addicted.

Very friendly spot ! Heavenly Food Market will sparkle a bubble for you. It is the old spot of the Gramercy Food Market (may bring back a key of your memories). It is across the street from Club Pilates and nearby to the Gramercy House. A very friendly M.A. referred me here. It has fresh deli/salad food ready for you. I grabbed a little sparkling bubble via Zero Swoon Ginger Lemonade to cool off after walking a peaceful path of Gramercy. Kudos to the big G neighborhood for this little gem. Let's do this again !

Heavenly Market 1692 York is a short walk from my apartment. I had a good experience at the new location so I thought I would visit here for lunch. I noticed two benches out front. I figured I could deal with that and sit with my lunch. As soon as I looked at the door I saw the huge NO PETS sign. The other Heavenly Market has the same sign. Both establishments DO NOT enforce it. Sure enough there was a dog blocking the entrance (see photo). I saw that the place is long and narrow giving me the indication there wasn't seating inside. I waited a while then squeezing in made my way to the back. There was an employee stocking high shelves. He looked like a workman's comp case waiting to happen!! From what I could see this place needs to close and everyone go a block down York to the new location. I will say the man behind the counter was very nice. I just felt cramped and uncomfortable. People were crowding in the front. I again squeezed by to exit only to find I couldn't figure out how to open the door. There wasn't any handle on the inside. I asked a customer and he reached over and pushed the door open. I guess I should have figured it out. I've never seen a door without a handle unless it's an automatic sliding door. I'm giving this place one star for the friendly employee and one for the salad section. Will I return? No way! This small place can go to the dogs.

I was staying at my friend's place in Upper East Side on a recent visit and was working from her apartment. I thankfully found saw Heavenly Market down the street, as it was the perfect lunch spot! Well, to be fair, I actually ended up eating at Heavenly Market for a breakfast, lunch, and a dinner over the visit - can't beat the convenience of this deli! The first visit yielded two slices of pizza (one cheese, one pepperoni) for a quick lunch. The price was decent (each slice was a couple dollars) and the guy behind the counter wrapped them like a pro - made it home without a single bit of grease transfer out of the bag! The pizza itself was very tasty and filling, especially for the price point. They also have a great selection of bottled beverages. The next day, my friend and I stopped in for breakfast sandwiches. They had a surprisingly wide range of options (honestly a theme with them - for such small shops, the menu is LARGE), and I got one with eggs and cheese on an everything bagel. DELICIOUS. The eggs were fluffy, the cheese was melty, and the bagel was top notch. Also, the price was very welcome (like $4 I think) in a city as expensive as New York. The last stop at Heavenly Market was for a quick bite before leaving the city. I got a salad and a sandwich, which ended up being too much food, because I hadn't realized how generous the portions were! The salad would have been enough for its own meal for sure. I got the caesar salad, which was very yummy (the dressing was pretty anchovy-forward though, so if that's not your deal, maybe pick one of their other salads). I also got, on my friend's recommendation, a Philly cheese steak sandwich, which was very good, not to mention filling. The ambience inside isn't anything to write home about, but there is some seating (though I only did takeout) and everything was clean. Service was fast and polite. Would 100% be back to keep trying things on their menu!

A fly on the lettuce of my burger. Gross.

This location always looks dirty and unsanitary. The food behind the glass for the salad station always looked dried out. After my most recent visit, I assume they do not wash their vegetables because I found a dead fly in the lettuce on my burger. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.

Love this grocery spot! It's my née favorite and it's like 30 streets away from me. It's worth the hike. This spot makes me feel like I'm in a smaller convenient Whole Foods. They have TONS of organic and healthy options and the entire store is squeaky clean. For all my clean food lovers come here! The food options are amazing that they make. They literally have it all.

Food is not impressive for fresh made sandwiches. They own several corners on these few blocks. Definitely don't recommend.

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! I've been thinking about this meal ever since I left the restaurant. You don't want to skip this place.

I had one dish that the The chili chicken was sweet and spicy but it wasn't particularly better than any other spicy chicken I ever had. The jhol momo tasted cheesy which was unexpected and didn't go with the sauce or broth. The roti was more tortilla sized n pretty flat. Maybe that's just authentic to Tibetan cuisine. The empanada things were fine.

It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

Me and my girl was looking for a coffee shop that was laptop friendly and closed late since we came after work. I was a bit disappointed that they did not serve any alcoholic beverages as I saw a lot of good reviews on that portion. We came, we sat down on a Saturday night. There was only one person at the front and it seemed she was also managing the serving part so it did get pretty hectic at some point. We decided to order the Budae Jigae (Hot Pot), there is no way to alter the spicy level so for those who love spicy spicy, this is for you. Me and my friend was really disturbed by the fact that we were treated some type of way. Maybe it's because we weren't Korean or? Service was slow asf. It took a really long time for them to serve me my iced strawberry matcha drink. And even longer for the food. It was also hard to tag her down, and she seemed pretty annoyed that we had to ask her for multiple items. We were a party of 2 and she only gave us one set of items. I went again by myself the next day to see if it was better service and it was pretty packed. There was actually 3-4 people at the front but even then it was so hard to get someone to take my order, ask for napkins, for the check, etc. While there was no time limit on Saturday, there was a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes on Sunday. would I go again? Maybe, but it's def veering towards the no side.
