We had a BIG job to do and didn't know who we were going to find to do it. Thanks to good 'ole Yelp, we found our man! We live on a corner lot with approximately 5,000 sq. ft. of grass that needed to be completely gutted, along with an inefficient sprinkler system that was very old and broken. Weeds were running rampant and it was all just an eye sore. We knew we had a big job ahead of us so we wanted to make sure we found someone who could help us turn our yard around. After reading the rave reviews for Chris here on Yelp we called him out to give us an estimate on our project. We basically needed all the existing grass to be removed and replaced with Marathon II sod, remove some dying palms, and decorate our landscape with river stones. We also wanted to install an updated sprinkler system with timers that could be set up by Wifi. Additionally we wanted to add landscape lighting to our palms and walkways. Chris quoted a fair price and after getting a few estimates from other landscapers we decided to go with Chris because of two things: his price along with the confidence we felt that he would meet our expectations helped us to conclude he was the best man for the job. Chris and his crew came in as scheduled and knocked out the work in the timeframe he said he would. Their work was clean and efficient and they left our front yard looking well-manicured and like a fancy golf course--my new lawn is begging for a picnic blanket and a good book. I probably look like a weirdo to my neighbors because I can't help but keep looking out my window at our beautiful new blanket of green on our front yard. I now have immense pride when admiring the new curb appeal our home has. We appreciated how Chris has strong work ethic and takes pride in what he does. He keeps his word and will not leave you hanging with an unfinished project. We have been doing a lot of work around our house and Chris was THE first contractor we've hired since we started this process who came back to finish up some details on our job even though it was probably not very convenient for him and a bit above and beyond the scope of our contract. First let me say I was starting to believe that all landscapers are independently wealthy and don't really need to work, judging by the number of times countless guys blew me off after coming out to see the job. Insane. But Green Grass Landscaping followed through and we were happy with the work from beginning to end. I had blueprint plans for my entire front yard. I'm on a corner and my house is set back quite a bit so my plans called for a lot of plants (186 plants and five trees), new sod, demo old concrete walkway and rebuild with flagstone, a flagstone seating area, a combination of drip irrigation and conventional sprinklers, and some low-voltage outdoor lighting. It was a big job but Chris and his guys knocked it out in about a week and a half. Chris's communication is good, the guys were always polite and cleaned up, and he followed my plans to a T. And all for a fair price. We're very happy with the end results and have gotten countless compliments from neighbors and passersby. I'd hire Chris again without hesitation. read more

Poor communication and planning. We originally had a scheduled appointment about a week in advance and cancelled on me. I get it, that happens you overbooked and had to be there for a cement project. We tried to do the weekend which I couldn't do but we agreed and rescheduled another appointment for the following week as you only do Monday estimates anyway. This was then cancelled 30 minutes before the appointment and I was only informed because I reached out to make sure we were still scheduled. Then you're now booked out about 3 months now since your other customers confirmed their appointments. My estimate was to start my job as soon as possible (which was described in my quote). If you had that many potential jobs in your pipeline, you could have just informed me so I am not waiting around. I know that might be tough to project customers actions but 3 months out... you must have a little bit of an idea. I'm mainly dissatisfied since I blocked out and scheduled time out my day twice and on a Monday, my busiest day and most people's busiest days. One time I get but not the 2nd time without any communication as a heads up is just not acceptable. I am sure you do good work but planning and communication would go a long way. read more

I found Green Grass Lanscaping on Yelp and I called for an estimate because of the many good reviews. I need landscaping lighting front & back yard, install drains on concrete & pavers, and adjust existing pop up drains. I called Christopher on 7/10 and no response. Because one of the reviewers noted they tried again and he responded, I called again on 7/13. He did text me right back, we exchanged texts after he asked questions and I sent him pics and he agreed to come out so we scheduled an appt. I waited 2 hours, as I truly understand how really busy he must be, but he did not show up. As a business owner & service provider, he could have texted me out of courtesy & professionalism if he wasn't going to make it. I texted him the next day and he noted, "sorry that his other job got extended". I still willing to try again and was willing to wait and asked how far he was booked, no response. I texted him one last time on 7/31 asking to let me know if he was interested on the job, no response. It only takes less than a minute to text a potential client back. If he would have taken a min. to note he was too busy or not interested, I would have honestly understood and move on. Why is one in business and post contact info on Yelp offering their services if one can't be more professional. It's unfortunate because I live very nearby and prefer to give locals my business. Chris and his assistant did a great job of replacing the old sprinkler valves, fixing some broken and slanted sprinkler heads, replacing the broken plastic water shut off valve with a new brass one and installing a modern WiFi controller box. Chris even showed me how to program the watering schedule with the app on my phone! The system is now working great and hopefully in a few months my grass will be looking great again too.
