Outstanding little restaurant! Absolutely love the food and the service. The people working the restaurant couldn't be more friendly. The main cook, Odie (sp?) is such a nice person that goes out of her way to be friendly to everyone that comes in the door. On this most recent occasion, I ordered the red Thai curry with tofu. It was a good level of spice without being overwhelming, and very flavorful. Terrific curry for an excellent price. In the past, I've gotten the green curry, the tom kha, and the pad Thai. No complaints from any of them! All very yummy and a great price, while the restaurant also offers terrific service. If you're dining in, please note that they only have 3 tables (two 4-person tables, one 2-person table), but almost nobody dines in - most people order takeaway. However, I want to encourage you to dine in! The service is so friendly, and Odie will come out to talk to you! I couldn't design a better restaurant in a lab, frankly. read more

We ordered delivery - Thom ka, spring rolls, red curry with chicken, and chicken and cashew. It was pretty fast, the Thom ka was more sour than I've ever had from a Thai place. Spring rolls were decent. The other dishes were way too salty. Plenty of heat, which is good if you like that. If you don't, watch out! But really the salt level was too much, and made it hard to enjoy fully. I would not order again for that reason. read more

I was in so much pain after eating the food from Green Herb. It wasn't because they did anything wrong, but rather because their food was SO DELICIOUS I could not stop eating. I kept going to the fridge to pick on the drunken noodle leftovers. To say that I later felt like I had a ball of fire in my gut was an understatement. I was in immense, uncomfortable pain, which is how I really know that a meal was good. I got heat level 2 out of a possible 3, and was glad I didn't go for the full-on level 3. The 2 was indeed very hot! I kept coating my lips in Chapstick to alleviate the burn. I will return to Green Herb. It burns so good. read more

Best Thai place around. Every time I go here it's delicious. I love the Chicken Pra Ram, satay, Thai fried rice and their curry's. The food is so flavorful and they do a good job controlling the spice level (I don't like things too spicy) while maintaining the delicious flavors. I always do take out. The inside is small but there are several tables but I believe they're only doing dine in from 12-4:30 (maybe COVID related? I don't know there's a sign on the door) but the take out is always ready rather quickly, packaged well and fresh. The women who run the place are lovely, very sweet and friendly and make some delicious food. I love this place. read more

I ordered for starters the Shrimp Dumpling (6 Pcs) which is Steamed or | Fried minced chicken and shrimp wrapped in wonton skin. I had the fried. Great flavor. Meal: I ordered the Panang Curry with shrimp. It had sweet curry, made from dried red chili with sweet basil, bell pepper, broccoli, green bean, ground peanut, carrots, zucchini and coconut milk. Very flavorful! every ingredient danced on my pallet. The sweet and spicy went so well together. I'm not a fan of curry so I was glad that I did not taste any. I did not see any zucchini in my bowl so I was disappointed. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. My friend had the vegetable fried rice with chicken and he said it was very good. He cleaned his plate. It's my birthday and the woman who served us was nice and brought us out sticky rice and mango with a candle. Soooo sweet of her. We dined here for the first time as a whole family. We ordered 3 entrees and it was perfect. The kids had the orange chicken with white rice while my hubby ordered the Kapow. The Kapow is stir fried sweet basil, garlic, bell pepper, onion, green bean with spicy brown sauce. He chose to enjoy with beef. The spice and flavor was very tasty and the basil was very aromatic. It definitely had a bite. The Pad thai was delicious and not so sweet. It was nuttier. I added chicken and tofu but it was not spicy. It needed more tamarind or fish sauce. Either way, it was tasty. I finally got a chance to try this restaurant. A small cafe on State Road in Drexel Hill that you could easily miss while driving by. I used the app and ordered shrimp dumplings, crispy calamari, gyoza, and red curry chicken heat level 2. While the shrimp dumplings weren't my favorite they were still tasty and the gyoza and calamari were spot on. The flaky batter on the calamari was fried perfectly and so light and tasty. The red curry was good but I should have stayed on heat level 1. I enjoyed and will be returning. read more

Another hidden gem in Upper Darby. My partner and I are both vegan and decided to try a new place, stumbling across Green Herb in Upper Darby's Drexel Hill neighborhood. I ordered a red curry with tofu, they ordered the Panang curry. The red curry was one of the most flavorful I've ever had. The coconut milk is subtle, allowing the spices and bamboo to stand out. The crispy tofu app was great as well, and my partner said the Panang curry was equally delicious. We'll definitely be back. read more

Well Drexel Hill has a new Thai spot. It isn't big. You can eat inside or take out. It's called Green Herb Thai Cuisine and it was pretty good. It's located in a small row of stores right off of State Road and Burmont Road. I believe it used to be a pizza spot. Parking is metered on the street. There are a few tables inside, but it is pretty tight. The menu has lots of options. The prices are very fair and you get a decent amount of food for your dollar. Everything had flavor, and it was a good flavor ;) I will probably order take-out from here in the near future. It's another great option for you to get your Thai fix in with. Worst Thai food I ever ate! Nowhere near authentic. chicken satay was tiny chopped pieces of chicken instead of skewers with some pathetic shredded carrot, not the traditional sweet cucumber salad. Green curry was way too sweet with no fish sauce flavor, had weird ingredients that don't belong, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, instead of eggplant etc. no jasmine rice, instead was overcooked white rice. drunken noodle overcooked with no flavor and tiny chopped vegeatables. basil stir fry hardly any basil and bland.don't waste your time here if you want an authentic Thai experience. read more

Hole in the wall thai food has been some of my favorite meals. When we found this spot close to our hotel, I was so excited. We went in on a Tuesday night for dinner and the place was empty. We were quickly greeted by a wonderfully sweet woman (and a heat wave- their air conditioning was out and they had several fans blowing. It was steamy but we stayed as she offered us ice waters immediately and a fan to blow directly on us- so sweet.) We ordered 4 different appetizers to share. They were all decent but the majority are deep fried after being frozen. I, also, saw her use a microwave twice on our apps- which was... worrisome. Ordered Delivery Online, as I could not get anyone to answer the phone. Great experience with easy online order - food arrived to my home in Lansdowne in under 1/2 hour. This place was rated well and I didn't feel like leaving the house, so gave it a try. First, I had written a special request in the online order for subbing peanut sauce for fish sauce with my crispy spring rolls. Opened up the box and it was fish sauce. Not a huge deal, they were delicious! Then I went to eat my chicken pad thai. I always go for staples when ordering from a new place, and it appeared and smelled great. Sadly, about 2 bites in, I started crunching on something that was not familiar. Upon further examination, there was an entire eggshell in my dish, mixed all around. I was more disappointed than grossed out, as it was not salvageable. I get it - this stuff happens. So I decide to call the restaurant to explain my circumstance, but after repeated calls (about 5) no one picked up, and that was frustrating. I would have been willing to try this restaurant again - great price point, delicious rolls, but if you can't be contacted to resolve an issue, I'm going to take my business elsewhere (Thai Aroy Dee to be exact!). read more

As my husband said "this food tastes like it was made by someone who truly loves cooking". Delivery was on time, the driver observed the instructions, and the order was correct. However, the food quality was a little less than I was hoping for. The crispy calamari wasn't crispy and didn't look like the image (the coating seemed more like dough than a crispy breading), and the pad thai's flavor was fine, but not very good. read more

What a great new addition to Drexel Hill. Bonus for me personally since I live within walking distance. The atmosphere: The place is really small, and cozy. There are only a handful of tables. Wish it was bigger. It prevents it from being a sit-down restaurant and more like a take-out place. However, it makes it a perfectly fine lunch spot for you and a friend. It is nice and comfortable however, unlike your usual take-out spot where they might have a table or two that's thrown there to basically sit at while you wait. The food: The food is really good. I posted a picture of the Pad Thai with shrimp. It was delicious. The shrimp were big, and the dish tasted very fresh. A spring roll is included in a lunch special. The spring roll was excellent. Fresh tasting as well. Service and prices: Typical of any other Thai place I've been too. Service was friendly and welcoming. Prices were the same as any other Thai place as well. Metered street parking is available, but it is adjacent to residental homes where you could park for free on the street right around the corner. Would I eat here again? Of course. The wings were ok, extremely bland, nothing to phone home about, but the orange chicken was horrible. It was all dough, no chicken. This place is special. My wife ordered take out and it was ready in ten minutes. It's a one person shop with about 5 tables. She's the cook, the server, the cashier, etc. I love that kind of entrepreneurship! The satay was incredible! The peanut dipping sauce was the best I've ever had. Lastly, I had the vegetable yellow curry. It was absolutely delicious. It had either nutmeg or cinnamon and I knew this place was special when I found myself devouring this curry when I wasn't even hungry to begin with. Take out. The food was ready in 15 minutes. The Thai basil stir fry with chicken was very watery, too spicy, not flavorful. There was so much liquid in the dish that my side of rice was not able to soak everything up. This is not what I expected to see. It was spicier than I expected as well - on the phone the restaurant said it was a little spicy. I think the extra spice hid the fact that the dish was not flavorful. It was almost as if the stir fry was done half heartedly and then water was added after the fact. Maybe with another dish or dining in the food quality would be better. Ordered drunken noodles and spring rolls for delivery last night. The noodles were the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. It tasted extremely rotten and the flavor was unbearable. I don't know why this place got high reviews. I ordered delivery based on those and I regretted it dearly. I ordered a standard dish, chicken pad Thai. I unfortunately couldn't even finish it. Lacked flavor and was over spiced. There was something wrong with the sprouts they gave me. They smelled like they were left in standing water for a long time. They actually made me gag both eating a few and just smelling them. I couldn't believe it. Their fried rice and Thai iced tea were good (my gf said the rice was just ok and she's Filipino). Just got back from our first visit to this new Thai place that's only about a mile away from me. If I had to use just one word to describe it, it would be "awesome!" The owner and all the others working there went out of their way to be pleasant and to make us feel welcomed. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and my wife had the green curry with chicken. Both dishes were outstanding! The curry had just the right amount of hot "kick" to it to make it really delicious! My wife is Thai so it's safe to say she's pretty much versed on what to expect from Thai food! There are only five tables in the place so there may be seating problems when more people learn about Green Herb. We're early diners so were the only ones there at the time. The restaurant could use some more visible signage or else you'll never know it's there. There is on street parking but only for a limited number of cars- another reason to dine early if you go. I highly recommend you give this new place a try. You won't regret it one bit! read more

This is a great thai take out place! The eating area is pretty small but it is super affordable so it is great for take out. The food was really good, we got a lot of different things off the menu. It also fills a void in the Drexel Hill area. Recommended for sure! read more
