Considering we were the only ones in the restaurant, the server seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. Food came out quickly tho. The lemon marscapone cake looked delicious, so I got one to go. It also helps that pho is one of the most savory and customizable meals that I have had, and consistently at that. I have had pho from all over the Philadelphia area and obviously have my favorite locations and also get mine with everything in it, tripe and tendon being the highlights when I can find them. The most traditional and, in my opinion, best spots will always have these as ingredient selections. I have been to Pho Philly twice now. Once to sit down with my friend Collin and another time to bring soup home for dinner for one evening when everyone couldn't decide on one place to order from, so I simply went and got what I wanted. In Delco, there is a lack of good Vietnamese. This IS changing, albeit slowly, and Pho Philly is close to home and is good enough. It's not what I would call spectacular and it is by no means bad in any way. Their broth is delicious and the noodles are long, and have just enough chew to them. Ingredients are very fresh and everything comes out fairly quickly and piping hot. Taking it home wasn't as great, but that's to be expected when taking a meal home that really should be eaten at the establishment. All in all, Pho Philly is a great place that is nearby for when I really want pho. They don't have tripe which is a let down, but will never keep me from ordering there. Their broth is tasty and seems to be made daily and the staff is nice and attentive in a neat space that looks like it was once an old diner. Give them a try if you're in Tinicum, and I will be coming here I'm sure for years as long as they're still here!

The one issue I had was I found the chicken a little rubbery. Asian restaurants usually "velvet" the protein tenderize. The mouth feel on this suggested it was not tenderize. A thoroughly humiliating experience…read more I was dining with my compatriot Michael at Mien Noodles for an APA pool event and ordered the bao buns and lo mein noodles. As he had never had them before, I had just gotten done explaining what a bao bun was and what a delicacy it was. When the food came out I intended to have one and for him to sample the other, but upon trying mine I realized this would be an awful first experience with a bao bun and may give him a negative impression of the dish altogether as the bao buns were EXTREMELY DRY. The consistency of paper. They dried my mouth out so much I finished my ginger ale in one gulp. The other bun was left unconsumed on my plate. A demoralizing experience and I'm surprised I was even able to win my pool match after such a subpar meal, which shook me to my very core. The waitresses comped our drinks but did not remove the buns. The lo mein was delicious. It is my ardent hope that Mien Noodles is able to master the bao bun as a way to give those who have never had one before the joy of the bun. It is the decent and right thing to do.
