They said they would spray down all the vents and run a sterilizing spray through the entire system. I found Stephen David's carpet cleaning service through YELP. I reached out to several businesses…read more Stephen replied quickly. He's local to my area and I like to support local, nearby small businesses. We chatted on the phone and he was able to fit me into the schedule for next day service, which was very convenient as I had limited availability to be home. On the day of service he texted me giving me updated time of arrival and showed up on time. I had a 770 square foot condo which required carpet cleaning of living room / dining room, a hallway, a coat closet, a bedroom and a walk in closet. He charged $205 which is reasonable and fair for the job. Stephen was friendly and personable and explained what he and his two helpers would do. They identified the building water supply and brought in the needed equipment to set up. They pretreated some stubborn stains near the front door entrance and pretreated the carpet with spray solvent / detergent. They also had plastic wall corner protectors (kind of like traffic cones) designed to protect the corners of the walls against scrapes or scuffing from the vacuum hose and electrical cords of the cleaning machines. They then used an agitator bristle brush rotary machine to scrub down the carpet. Next, they used a hot steam sprayer combined with a vacuum to steam clean the carpet and suction up the dirty water / detergent mix. They were very thorough working on the carpet until all stains were removed. I had moved 90% of the furniture ahead of time to make their job faster and easier and they moved the other 10% quickly and efficiently. Overall the set up took about 25 minutes and the carpet cleaning took about 1 hour. Afterwards Stephen gave me plastic squares to put under the bed frame and table legs. He gave me instructions on how to let the carpet fully air dry for 24 hours. I was also given a few business cards and asked him about his other clientele. Overall it was a super smooth and friendly exchange and my carpets look great and it has changed the energy of the condo. It was a great and necessary part of my spring cleaning. Also the week before I had a guest stay with me who had brought a new puppy that peed / pooped and chewed on the carpet (even though we put down puppy pads, it missed the pad when doing its business). This was also why I wanted to have the carpets professionally cleaned. I offed to pay my bill in credit or cash. Stephen and I agreed on cash. I received a written professional invoice upon payment. Stephen says he's been in the business for about 40 years. It shows, he's professional, friendly and efficient. Nice job! 5 stars out of 5 stars from me. I would hire him again.

P.S. In June 2023 I hired D B Genesis to reinstall the hardwood floors and some of the steps. They…read moredid a neat and professional job. There were no gaps between the boards evident. Subsequently I filed a claim with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission against its Guaranty Fund. The fund was set up to compensate homeowners who hire licensed contractors who either fail to complete a job or do it in an "unworkmanlike" manner. After a very long drawn out process, the MHIC opined that the multitude of gaps "were not significant enough to render the installation unworkmanlike." Prefinished hardwood flooring is an interlocking tongue-and-groove system and it is certainly not good workmanship to install the boards with clearly visible separations. This contractor left more than 50 open joints between the boards, significant gaps between boards and stair rails and installed steps with stair noses that were not level and that creaked shortly after installation. This was certainly an unworkmanlike installation. (I guess that tells you what a license from the MHIC is worth.) What matters, however, is not my opinion or the MHIC's but whether you would be pleased if this contractor did such fine work in your home. This contractor has cost me time, money and a lot of aggravation with his threats of legal action, lies and refusal to accept responsibility. He continues to lie about conditions in my home alleging that I do not operate my HVAC leading to wildly fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels, causing the multitude of gaps. Don't be fooled. He is just lying to shift blame for the shoddy work of his subcontractor to me, the homeowner. BTW he's also lying about offering to replace the flooring at cost. P.P.S. As I have stated before the "official unbiased inspection report" Eric is referring to falsely stated there were no separations visible in the floor either from a stand up position or under 10x magnification and thus, concludes there were no installation problems. So I guess those are all imaginary gaps Eric's subcontractor filled in with wood putty. The MHIC a scam?? I would not put it that way but certainly they did not have much sympathy for me as a homeowner harmed by a licensed contractor. They seemed much more concerned about protecting the Guaranty fund from claims, even legitimate ones. Sometimes the system does not deliver justice. In any case, a license from the MHIC is clearly not a guarantee against shoddy workmanship.

Apparently, this is a common practice with this company. ***DO NOT USE***** Owner responded to review saying that I have the wrong company, I absolutely do not. The phone number he provided is the phone number in our call log. I provided the supervisor's direct line as proof but comment was removed by yelp. To say that I am not in their database is false because they incorrectly assumed my name was Richard based upon a nickname, and they assumed that my last name began with an N when that is actually a middle initial, the appointment could have been booked under my wife's name since she made the initial call. If they don't want bad reviews, they should have better representatives.
