We used Dave for both our pre-drywall inspection and final walkthrough inspection. When the builder received the pre-drywall report before that walkthrough, he had all the items fixed for our appointment. He said Dave made his job easy! The final inspection took about 2 1/2 hours and Dave was very thorough--showing us how to look at the wall with a flashlight to see imperfections. He inspected every door, appliance, attic, basement, HVAC, as well as the exterior. We were extremely pleased with his work. read more

David from Reliable Home Services (RHS) Inc. was an incredibly knowledgeable and professional home inspector who readily answered all of our questions without condescension.  As for my review, where do I even start? How about the receptionist? I judge a business very harshly by their front desk desk staff because they are the FACE of the company. Why would I do business with someone who can't even be bothered to hire a pleasant person for my first impression of that company? I was pleased that the receptionist was friendly, knowledgeable, and scheduled our appointment with no hassle.  When it came to the inspection itself, David came 15 minutes early and we spent the next almost three hours scouring our home. We appreciated all the additional home ownership tidbits and advice that he offered throughout the inspection and we felt that he did an excellent job.  The thing that I was most impressed with was the quality of the home inspection report sent after the walkthrough. Not only was it sent in a timely manner, it was incredibly detailed and thorough with photographs and FIVE levels of condition so we could easily prioritize maintenance and repairs. The condition levels were acceptable, marginal, defective, not present, and not inspected. Our report was 22 pages long and will be referenced for years to come. We had a home inspection from David at RHS in 2015. He had been referred to us by our realtor. The report he gave us was so valuable. It resulted in the home seller fixing a number of important house issues before we completed the purchase. We ended up referring to the report for years afterward when we planned needed maintenance. In 2023, eight years later, we reached out again and asked if David could come do an inspection for the purpose of helping us prioritize needed maintenance. The one hour we spent with him saved us $15,000 in planned spending that we apparently didn't need to do just yet. We had several contractors told us we needed some specific things done, but it appears that was not the case. It's so helpful to have an independent and objective person with broad expertise that can help you know work needs to be done on your home when. At the end of meeting with him, we had a list of items we absolutely had to do (get new smoke detectors) and others that could wait a few years (getting a new roof).
