In addition to some of the specifics mentioned in my previous review (see below), there have been several instances where Ankers could have just recommended the more expensive route to fix something, but chose to allow us to make an informed decision by trying alternatives or doing things incrementally so that it could be determined if a smaller fix would suffice. All this without sacrificing the integrity of the car, though. It is such a relief to know you are going to receive competent and honest work on one of the major financial investments you make: your vehicle. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Joe argued with me that it cost more than he quoted me to fix the bumper and asked me to pay an additional $700 to "cover his costs." I reluctantly agreed and paid him $1,900 to put a new bumper on my car. He gave me the keys and told me where my car was parked. I went to retrieve my car and ALL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS WERE MISSING FROM THE CAR. I asked the mechanic who was there where my items were and he told me that Joe told him that the car was his now and that I had already sold the car to Joe and that he threw away everything that was in the car. I said are you kidding me, I never sold my car to him. The mechanic told me "well, Joe told me that you already sold the car to me and I thought this car was mine." THEY TOOK MY PLATES OFF THE CAR, TOOK MY REGISTRATION OFF MY CAR, CLEARED OUT MY GLOVE COMPARTMENT (THREW AWAY MY REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE INFORMATION) AND ALL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS (JUMPER CABLES, CLOTHES, BAG OF TOOLS, BOX OF K-CUPS AND RECEIPTS I HAD IN THE CAR). I noticed that the registration was missing from the car and again asked the mechanic about this. I told him that it's illegal to remove the registration from someone's car. He told me again "Joe told me that you sold him the car, I thought the car was mine. He was talking about having dealer plates on the car and it is very likely he was using my car for personal use. I WAS SHOCKED!!! I should have called the police right then, but was just in a state of shock and left with my car. Later that day I was looking at the new bumper they put on my car and THEY PUT A BROKEN, CRACKED AND SCRATCHED USED BUMPER ON MY CAR. I called Joe and told him that all my personal belongings were missing from the car (he responded by saying if you think items are missing from your car then you should file a claim with your insurance company), I told him that you also took my registration off of the car and threw away everything that was in my glove compartment (he responded by saying "you sold me your car"), I told him I never sold you my car, that's a lie, you work in the auto industry and you know you never had a bill of sale or a signed title, what you did was illegal, I told him and to top it off you put a broken, cracked and scratched used bumper on my car and I would like to come back by your shop and get my money back (he responded "You wanted me to put a used bumper on your car and I don't have any of your money") I said that's another lie, I gave you $1,900 and why would I pay you to put a broken and cracked bumper on my car? I said there are two ways we can go about this, I can come down to your store and you can give me the money back or I can take you to court (he responded "I don't have any of your money - do what you think you have to do). That same day I filed a police report with the Green Island police department. The police were shocked by everything that I shared with them and said you need to take him to court and sue him. I will be taking Joe to court to get my money back.

I love my car so much, and if I can get a few more years our of it, I'd be happy. She said they're great, reasonably priced, and do not try to swindle their customers with unnecessary repairs. So I decided to check them out. Upon entering, I was greeted by the nicest receptionist I may have ever met. She had a great smile, was friendly, and was professional but still laid back. I explained what I needed, which included looking at why my engine light was on, check my shocks (because my car made very loud noises with every little bump in the road), and anything else they could find. Then I wanted an estimate and we'd discuss next steps. Made an appointment for the upcoming Thursday, left my car overnight, keys in the Dropbox, and they'd look at it in the morning. Got the estimate a few days later than anticipated, because the mechanic is always SUPER busy, then scheduled a pickup. Turned out that I needed new tires (which was not a surprise), my shocks were dead (hence the loud banging whenever I drove over a little bump), and my heater was on the fritz (the engine light). Spoke to the mechanic, and he said he could have my car ready by the following evening. So I said let's do all work as a holiday treat to myself. Picked up my car after work the following day, met up with the mechanic, and he went over everything with me. To my surprise, and due to an error, they even did a little extra work and didn't charge me for it! When I drove my car home, it felt like it was brand new, and if it wasn't for my "dog blankets" protecting my car seats, I would think that I just drove it off the sales lot. Overall, Auto Solutions is a place I will continue to go back to. The professionalism mixed with a laid-back personal approach, really made me feel at ease. Not charging me for some extra work that was done was a very nice holiday gift from them, and I am very grateful. Be fair warned, if you are a type A personality, and need everything quickly laid out in front of you, in a very specific time frame, they may not be your first choice.
