Green Lantern is Tip Top pizza! I frequent the Livonia location and the OG Madison Heights spot has a sentimental place for me This one is just as good as either. I'm always going to love the fact that they use the tiny pepperonis that turn into little satellite dishes of golden oily delight! They're round crust is fantastic. Their cheese bread is fantastic. I am always on the look out for new pizza joints in the area and saw the positive reviews on this business and decided to give it a try. For my first order here I ended up getting a traditional round "Everything Pizza". My pizza was well cooked, with very generous amounts of fresh toppings and was most importantly, very tasty. This is a takeout only business where they have a nice Web page that has the menu and current prices, selectable pick up times and multiple payment methods. Overall I was quite pleased with my first experience here where based on first impressions they make a quality tasty pizza that is a step up from the many chain restaurants in the area. I have heard of Green Lantern and I know fans hype it up. I see a lot of locations have been opening up all over metro Detroit and one opened up here in Waterford. I am very much a skeptic, there are so many places for pizza but I have my favorites. I also do not like wasting time and money if I end up with a mediocre experience. So I was pleasantly surprised. Both pizzas were delicious. We got a large round with spinach. It was thin and juicy, with tons of cheese and it was cooked perfectly. It had a good spinach taste. I enjoyed the crust. We also got a large square with chicken, garlic, and feta. It was crispy and flavorful. We wished the garlic was cooked more and had more of that gooey over roasted consistency, this was was still white a crunchy, but the pizza was also cooked perfectly. We basically copied our Crispelli order to see how it tasted here. It stood up to our typical order and was delicious. The people working were nice and the overall experience was good. The only downfall was that we had a coupon and it was still very pricey. Without a coupon the prices would have been way more. I think I would be more willing to pay those prices at a sit down restaurant. But it was so good, I am sure I will crave this pizza again. Personally, I would like to now try one of their sit down locations and eat the pizza hot and fresh. It was hot and fresh by the time we got home, so it did stand up to travel time, but eating it right away it may be even better. read more

I LOVE Green Lantern pizza, but the closest one is 29 miles from my home. Not any more! Yay! I now drive 10 miles less, one-way, to indulge twice per year (though I could eat it way more often). I went to the latest Green Lantern carry-out on a weekday afternoon, and was not disappointed. The large square cheese & pepperoni was THE ABSOLUTE BEST PIZZA I ever had - E V E R ! I froze the leftover pieces. Green Lantern's Waterford location is now my location for pizza. I will even venture occasionally to their Mother-ship restaurant in Madison Heights to meet friends and enjoy its awesome food and friendly atmosphere. Brings back fond memories of being introduced to the infamous GL pizza. By the way, the service at the Waterford store was very friendly. The kitchen staff there is turning out an excellent product with that Green Lantern taste and quality that has kept me coming back for more since 1978. I have tried many other items in the past on the menu, too - all fabulous. Next time I shall add my favorite to the order, their antipasto salad. Have now had 2 experiences from this location. 1) Carry Out 2) Delivery Carry out got my order wrong. Unfortunately I didn't check it and just pulled into my driveway when they called and said they gave me the wrong sandwich. I drove back and they swapped it out. Nothing more and nothing less. Delivery estimated at 62 minutes and actual was 80. Pizza was not hot or cold; somewhere in the middle. All items ordered were delivered. Food review from both experiences: Salad is decent. DMDC sandwich was nothing special. Just average. Less filling that I would have thought. Pizza itself was ok. Nothing to rave about. I would much rather get Jets pizza for the price. Overall I think this is an average pizza joint. May or may not return. Definitely not bad, but nothing really stuck out. Maybe I had high expectations from the other reviews. read more

Great place. Just like the 12 mile location I used to go to. It is just a take out place is why I gave it a one star hit. They make a great pie & the service was timely & informative. I want to try other things there in the future. It is on the edge of my radar for carry out but is well worth the quality & memories. More updates in the future. read more

Spreading the word that those that may not know that there is NOW a GL take out location here in Waterford, and it's as good if not better than the much more established dining locations. No, I'm not affiliated in any way with GL, but felt the need to leave a review after not only every pizza and Lantern Bread (there's much more on their menu) being outstanding, but today I was running VERY late for my online pick up and I called and told them I'd be over 30 minutes late for pick up. Here's what they did: - Said no problem, things happen, thank you for calling - A very kind manager checked my order and said it might not be as good as it could be with my late of a pick up, so they made me a FRESH pizza and bread! - Thanked me personally when I picked up. And said his employees enjoyed my initial pizza / bread very much. As always, the freshly made pizza and bread were OUTSTANDING! So glad I don't have to trek for miles towards the city to get my GL fix. You have a customer for life! read more
