Just moved here from California and this place is like a Panera bread on crack and I mean that in a good way it is so delicious everything here is so good I've had it three times in the last three weeks since moving

Driving thru Tennessee and arrived at 7:15 pm. The food was good, but the place was messy and dirty. A total of 12 tables needed to be busted, and the drink counter was sticky and nasty. The manager on shift is not doing their job.

There was clearly a difference in opinions, but we were still able to find some common ground. My older sister and I firmly planted ourselves on opposite sides. She knew she wanted lunch from Panera and I knew I wanted McAlister's Deli. There was nothing that either one of us could have said to each other to convince us otherwise. We were stubborn and not open to hearing any opposing views for the best lunch spot. My younger sister on the other hand took a more moderate approach. She really contemplated both options. While I admired her even keeled nature, eventually she was going to have to choose a side or else she wouldn't have any lunch. She ended up getting Panera. I was a little sad, but I was happy for her because it seemed like she made the best decision for herself. At the end of the day, we were able to put our lunch eating differences aside and all reunited to eat our different lunches at the same table. We didn't just talk about where we got our lunches and why we felt like they were the best, we talked to each other as humans that care for one another. Even though I still think McAlister's Deli was the place to go for lunch, I don't hate my sisters for going to Panera. My sandwich was real good and I'm pretty sure they enjoyed theirs too.

This sandwich shop just might be the best-kept secret in Cookeville. As of the date of this review,…read moreyou can't even find it on the Which Wich app and it took me some effort to find it on the list of stores on their website. Which Wich Cookeville in fact can be eventually found with a little junior detective work. It is on the Tennessee Tech University campus housed within Roaden University Center. It is nestled in an out of the way corner in the same lower building level as the campus bookstore. For some unknown reason, the procedure for filling out your sandwich "order bag" at this location is different. Just go to the counter and the person there will help you. There are two types of order bags- favorites and build your own. Customizing is available on the favorites which is not well known. I wonder if in the past the order bags and marker pens were too much of a temptation to leave access to the student body at large? Which Wich offers three size sandwiches- 7" regular, 10" large, and 14" super. The super-size sandwich might be a good choice for sharing. You can also have your wich as a tortilla wrap or totally bread free with a lettuce wrap. Other reviewers commented about excessive wait times- I felt the wait for my wich was appropriate. Made fresh takes more time than pre-prepared and sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. I found that the sandwich makers are generous with the meats- so much that the veggies on my wich had hardly any space to call their own. In addition to sandwiches, Which Wich also offers green and pasta salads. I didn't try a salad this visit but the photos look good on their website. I did decide to try the house potato chips with my combo and I liked their just-right combination of salt and pepper toppings. In addition to soft drink favorites, Which Wich has sweet and unsweet teas and made to order real ice cream milkshakes in 7 flavors. Currently, orders are take-out only (due to COVID-19) and the chairs have been removed from around the tables in the store's dining area. This is not a huge problem as there is plenty of seating space in the commons area near the bookstore and there are tables outside if the weather is favorable This location is only open the same hours as the Roaden University Center building which means that they are closed weekends. (Insert sad panda face emoji here). A true tragedy because the weekend is the perfect time to order the BrunchWich featuring a sunny side up egg and thick-cut bacon. Which Wich is a great alternative to "fried" fast food and each wich is made to order fresh. Give them a try when you have the Jones for a healthy meal that tastes great too.

I wanted to love this place since we went out for a special celebration of my husband. We had not…read morebeen before and the menu looked amazing! We did not have a great experience. We had a party of 10 and went early (before 6pm on a weekday). It was not busy, and when we arrived there was one couple seated. Despite this, I think they rushed our food. And we would have gladly waited a little longer for cooked food. :/ Everyone at the table who ordered "steamed broccoli" received hard, barely cooked broccoli. My mother-in-law's potatoes were not fully cooked, and her salmon was raw. Since all her food was not edible, they took it off the bill. So at least there's that. The green beans my mother ordered were also quite crunchy, which can be personal preference. I did not complain about my salmon, but it was undercooked as well. However, even if it were cooked, the lemon sauce makes it inedible. I order salmon at most restaurants and I have never tasted a more horrific sauce. I thought maybe I was being dramatic, so let everyone at the table taste the sauce. Every single one of them scrunched up their face and said "UGH!" It was described by my family members as "putrid, disgusting, rotten pudding, and having a strong iron taste." I have to agree there. When they put it on the table I thought the fish was bad, but it was just the strong smell of the sauce. So all the broccoli, salmon, and potatoes were undercooked... however everyone who ordered steak received it cooked way past what they had ordered. My husband ordered medium, and it looked close to well done. My nephew ordered medium rare, and it looked medium well. My husband's steak was still tender and tasty though, so he did not complain. His Brussels sprouts were decent and grits were very flavorful. My sides were mac and cheese and a salad. Those were both very good! The mac and cheese is in an interesting flavorful sauce. More creamy than cheesy, but I enjoyed it. The salad seemed pretty fresh with homemade dressing from what I could tell. Our server was nice, but did not check on us at all, and was only at the table to take our orders, deliver the food, and give us the check. The majority of us had empty drink glasses and would have wanted refills. There was an automatic tip of 20% on the bill because of the larger party, which was fine, but like I said, the service wasn't great since we didn't get checked on whatsoever. Overall, it's not the worst place I've ever been but it wasn't very good. You hate to go to a place that SHOULD be good, pay good money, and receive that quality, but we weren't going to sit there and every single one of us complain. Sometimes, you just have to eat a bad meal, laugh about it, and not return. The fact of the matter is there are much better places to eat in Cookeville with better food and better service, so we probably won't be back.

Went here with my coworkers after hearing one of them rave about it, and it definitely lived up to…read morethe hype. The mac & cheese was amazing and the flatbread was just as good. The fish and chips were more on the average side, but still enjoyable. What really stood out was the service -- super friendly and attentive the whole time. Overall, a great spot and I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu.
